[Q] Lockscreen + pulldown menu - HTC One X

Hello all,
I have a HTC One X with stock rom 1.28.
When screen is off and you press the Power Button, then naturally the lockscreen appears to prevent accidently pushing,... etc.
But you can still pull down the top menu bar and go to settings, or press any notification (if present).
Anyone has that too?? Is it a bug?

That's a feature of ICS; AOSP/cm9 ROMs do the same, it's normal.

Oh really? I dont see much of "feature" in it
I think I like MIUI lockscreen more, but hey, we can't have everything i guess

[Q] Android Notification Manager.

Hey guys, I am curious to know if there is a shortcut I can create to open my Notification bar, I am going for a minimalist look and I don't want the bar showing at the top of the screen, however it would be nice to see it at the click of a button from time to time.
I know I can press the Menu button and it will side down, but I was looking for something a little more in keeping with my tidy homescreen. Is it even possible to do that?
*Edit* I worked it out, there is an option in LauncherPro under Bahavior Settings/Home key action. Must have missed that one.

[Q] Possible to change task manager button to menu?

I currently own a HTC Desire and was thinking about buying a new phone and I can't decide between Galaxy S3 and HTC One X yet.
When I watched this comparison here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtXAkNd9k68 I saw the HTC One X has Back, Home and Task Manager Buttons.
From my HTC Desire I know you can bring up Task Manager by long pressing Home Button, so I wonder why there is a Task Manager button (maybe for not so smart users?). And if there is a menu it takes away from screen real estate to display a menu button bar or for HTCs own apps, it displays a menu button on top right corner.
I like the black & white borderless theme of Sense better than the blue/gray border theme of Galaxy phones (for menu, popups, selectboxes, widgets, etc).
Would it be possible, to change the task manager button into a menu button?
Apparently HTC are going to do this in a future OTA update - or at least give us the ability to do like you request and do away with the horrible black bar which presents itself in some apps.
However - if you are into flashing roms then some of the custom roms give you the ability to change the functionality if the bottom three buttons - also adding long press abilities which you can define yourself, you can also toggle the black bar on/off if you so desire aswell, the following is a Rom which supports what you are after - comes highly recommended from myself;

as for why HTC make the recent task button, they followed Google. Google said its the death of the menu button, and introduced the action bar. not all apps are updated with it yet, so One X suffer with the black menu bars, except for google apps. unlike Galaxy Nexus, which has soft buttons, not capacitive like One X.

Why Do All Of The First Letters Of Your Words Start With Caps?
Does it really matter what ROM you're using? I downloaded 'Power Controls' by Painless Death off of Snappz. Works for me. They all do the same thing.
I used to mostly use the built-in CM power widget when I was on CM7, then when I went to CM9/10, those kinda lost the customizability they had in CM7. Then I realized that you can just stick tons of power widget options in the notification bar, which I LOVE now, since I can access every power option I want from wherever (not needing to go back to the homescreen). I used to think that only 4 buttons could fit in there, but I recently found out that it will fit 6 buttons at a time, and if you put more than 6 buttons in the notification bar power widget, then it becomes side-to-side scrollable, which is awesome. This also has the added benefit of not needing to download external apps to just have a power widget. I'm sure some of those have advanced capabilities than I'm unaware of, but the notification drawer options are pretty all-encompassing.
The set of options I've got in the notification drawer (in order) is:
-Sound
-Brightness
-Wifi toggle
-GPS toggle
-Bluetooth toggle
-LED flashlight toggle
-Orientation toggle
Hope that gives you some ideas!

Which Rom do you use ???

==> (FOR ICS) I would go for myOne Rc8Fx+
Tried myone Rc9Fx+ : the thing which is irritating is the 3 Dotted bar which shows up for different apps eg"whatsapp , facebook etc " :crying:

==> (FOR JELLY BEAN) I wound go for Stable version of CM10
Tried Slim bean the contacts got stuck at times when i really needed it & the phone slows down at times ,had to restart to get it function properly
CM10 is a Good Rom with best camera Fix (JB) ,Music (JB) , also with performance :good::good::good:

The 3-dot is the hTC Sense default feature for most hTC devices, you can change/remove it by going to Settings - Display, gestures & buttons - Recent apps button and pick your choice :
1. Always open recent apps - where you will have that 3dot menu
2. Press for menu, press and hold for recent apps - self explanatory, no 3dot
3. Press for recent apps, press and hold for menu - self explanatory, no 3dot

what i can do? try clean it again better?
i dont feel like the menu button is completely dead :silly:
any ideas?
i want to clean up well the phone to give it to a friend and also power it up with a cool rom....
if , at the end, i will not repair the buttons, exist a rom that have virtual buttons (like nexuse)
thanks for all the help....
Not sure how to fix your hardware problems, but an alternative would be to user the navigation bar (soft keys) like on nexus devices. You will need a 4+ ROM to enable the navbar, but to easily control the size I would recommend the PA ROM in my signature. It allows you to change height/colour of the navbar easily, whereas in other ROMs you will need to flash stuff/make changes to the build prop to enable it.
