[Q] Rollback from Cyanogen Mod9 to original Froyo 2.2.1 - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Roll back to Stock ROM
@usaff22: Thanks a lot fo reply.
I just had a look on ur thread & I have a question now.
For HTC INDIA only EClair RUU is available. So how can I switch to FROYO..??
Plz help.

Use the Froyo WWE RUU (world wide english). Then change the language through settings to whichever you want.

I'm afraid my phone can stuck if I use WWE version,, bcoz when last time I tried to root my phone , there was a step which was to install WWE Eclair version,, & my touch screen was stuck.... So I'm not taking it as an option.
Any other option..??
Can I first use HTC INDIA EClair & then upgrade it to Froyo.. Isnt that possible..??

The bug of failed touch screen you experienced was because of a version number issue and not because it was a WWE RUU.
Anyway, you can definitely go for the Eclair RUU and then do the OTA update to Froyo. If you are unable to do an OTA update due to limited data plans / other reasons, the OTA ZIP for India Froyo is posted on Shipped ROMs website. Put the India Eclair ROM on your phone, then do the following:
- Download the India Froyo Update OTA ZIP from Shipped ROMs (Version number 2.25.720.1. Its an approx 60MB Zip file if I am not wrong)
- Rename this file to update.zip
- Place this on your SDCard
- Turn off your phone and turn on in HBOOT mode (Vol Down + Power)
- Select RECOVERY. You should see a Red Triangle with an Exclamation Mark since using an RUU removes Clockworkmod Recovery
- On this screen, Press Vol Up + Power. This should take you to Stock HTC recovery.
- Here, select "Apply SD:Update.zip"
It should install the OTA file which you placed on your SDCard in the beginning.

[Q] My Desire automatically downloaded stock RUU (WWE) after updating radio

So I have a Telus Desire which is SLCD (original radio was 4.08.00.09) and the other day I decided to root as well as update the radio to the 5.09.00.20 (a day before the 5.09.05.30_2 was released). The root and radio update were successful.
However the next morning I found that my phone downloaded the following WWE rom by itself:
RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.4_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_122704
I know this because I went to Internet -> Downloads and found this file. It shows it downloaded the rom from the shipped-roms website. I also found an error message saying "rom file type is not supported" which means my phone probably tried to open the file.
A few questions:
Does anyone know why my phone automatically downloaded this RUU after the radio update ?
How can I prevent my phone from automatically downloading these RUU files? At the time, I had the Scheduled Check box ticked in Settings, could this be why?
Also reading from the other thread "[FAQ] HBOOT 0.83 / 0.92 / SLCD - rooting and recovery", it states:
"Q. Which RUUs are safe to use with an SLCD screen?
A. The two mentioned here. All other currently available RUUs will stop the screen from working."
But the one my phone automatically downloaded is not one of the 2 posted in that thread. Is this why I got the error message saying rom file type is not supported?

why would your phone download a rom from shipped-roms.com when htc has spent the last year trying to shut this website down lol
Thats what I thought to...but why would my phone try to download a rom that isnt compatible with my SLCD screen (according to the [FAQ] HBOOT 0.83 thread) ?
Well I have the latest radio now (5.09.05.30_2) and also made sure the Scheduled Check box is not ticked now...and my phone has yet to automatically download anything...so hopefully that was the issue
Probably because your phone didn't download the ROM.
Scheduled check does - scheduled check -. It checks time after time for a new update, but it doesn't download it without user permission. Even when it downloads it, it doesn't take it from shipped roms
I guess you have downloaded it by yourself (on purpose or by accident) and have forgotten about it.

[Q] Official T-Mobile RUU Rom

Im going to be sending my Desire to HTC after experiencing the reboot issue , at the moment i have a rooted phone running a custom rom and want to go back to an official UK T-Mobile (non rooted) rom
on the official ROMS page there are two:
RUU_Bravo_TMO_UK_1.15.110.11_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4. 05.00.11_release_122755.exe
RUU_Bravo_TMO_UK_1.21.110.4_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.0 6.00.02_2_release_127570_signed.exe
does anyone know what the differences are and which one i should go back to?
Cheers
What software version are you on now?
What HBOOT are you on?
when i power on and volume down i get
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0-80-0000
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL SYNT0101
RADIO-5.09.05.30_2
not sure what you mean by software version
Im running the latest OpenDesire ROM at the moment : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768624
Get 1.21.110.4, it'll flash fine
k cool ,can you tell me what the differences are?
i also noticed one has signed at the end, is that significant?
1.15 - old
1.21 - new
Pretty simple really!! The higher the numbers, the newer the build
As for signed, probably just means it's actually a released ROM - I've never took any notice before. They're both official T-Mobile RUUs so it shouldn't matter
couple more questions
does anyone know if the newest TMobile ROM is Froyo
and
Do i need a gold card to run these RUU roms
1. No it's not, it would be 2.x.xxx.x if it was. The T-Mobile one isn't available yet BUT you can then flash the OTA update to get to FroYo once you've used 1.21.110.4
2. If you phone came with a T-Mobile ROM on it then no, a gold card is only needed to flash a ROM which is a different version to the original
I flashed one of the tmobile roms off the rom page and it was no good with my slcd screen.
Just something to consider if you have an slcd screen.
He's not on an SLCD screen as he's on HBOOT 0.80 so it'll be AMOLED
thanks for your help, appreciated
yeah i have an amoled screen (i checked the sticker on the side of the box )
on the Official RUU page it has these two OTA updates
OTA_Bravo_TMO_UK_1.15.110.11-1.15.110.10_releasez3xlhzglzlds8gg2.zip
OTA_Bravo_TMO_UK_1.21.110.4-1.15.110.11_release0grz58nlwns0d5mw.zip
would the 2nd one include froyo? the reason for asking is i really need the Portable Hotspot feature in a couple of weeks and unrooted 2.1 doesnt have this
Neither are the FroYo OTA, you need this one:
http://fotadl.htc.com/2.12.110.2-1.21.110.4_release3uop1mw9unpc376h.zip
First, flash the 1.21.110.4 RUU, then download that file and do the following:
1. Rename it update.zip (not update.zip.zip)
2. Copy it to your SD card
3. Turn the phone on holding volume down to get into HBOOT and then select recovery
4. At the red !, hold volume up and press power
5. On the menu, select 'apply sd:update.zip'
6. Follow the instructions
superb mate, thanks!
just tried to run teh OTA_Bravo_TMO_UK_1.21.110.4-1.15.110.11_release0grz58nlwns0d5mw.zip
and went through all the prompts and then it told me
ERROR[131]: CUSTOMER ID ERROR
now my phone is tmobile but im 90% sure when i got it (when the desire came out, bought it from mobilephonesdirect) it was customised with Virgin Mobile icons, would that make a difference?
Yes, chance are you're on generic FW (x.xx.405.x)...having said that, is your sd card a gold card?
i still have my goldcard
i just checked back on an old thread and a few people also got tmobile desires with Virgin media icons on the homescreen
Either way, if you're now on 1.21.110.4 then that OTA file should have no issues. Obviously use your gold card as if you're not chances are you weren't on a T-Mobile ROM originally - in which case get the latest FroYo RUU by clicking on my Signature and use that instead!!
ok
i didnt manage to get as far as flashing 1.21.110.4 as i got there ERROR 131.
so , i need to use my goldcard to flash 2.29.405.2 WWE (FRF91). and if so i take it all i need to do is flash the rom with the gold card in instead of my normal sd card.
if i install 2.29.405.2 will that be ok to send back to HTC (reboot problem)
No
If you tried the T-Mobile RUU without your gold card and got that error then chances are you're on a generic Desire. So download the 2.29.405.2 from my sig and try again without your gold card. If it works then you have an unbranded Desire
ey mate
cheers for all yor help
i managed to flash the rom in your sig without a goldcard and all is fine!
i can now send them phone to HTC to be repaired! thanks again

[Q] HELP! Desire refuses to work after update

Ok, I think I need some help here.
I have a german (GSM?) HTC Desire, running Froyo 2.2.
Some days ago I flashed unrevoked3 and had root s-off.
I wanted it to use adFree (no success) and screenshots.
So today an update was provided and without further thinking I chose to apply it.
Now all my desire does is starting - restarting - starting - restarting...
Pushing Vol. down and pressing startbutton brings me to the HBOOT screen, recovery gives me a black screen with a phone icon and a warning sign in red.
clear storage does not affect anything. I am trapped.

If you wanna help me, try explaining what to do for noobs as I am one.
Step by step, easy to understand. My mother language is german.
=( help?
ok, if you didnt already know, you should never apply an OTA update to a rooted phone.
what rom was on your phone originally? was it branded to a provider?
please give as much information as possible as it is likely that you will need to run the RUU to get it back to stock.
The phone was bought at a 0² shop in germany. Running a stock rom. No branding (soft/hardware).
ok, you could try running this RUU...
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.exe
this will wipe your phone, unroot, s-on but will not touch your sdcard.
put you phone into fastboot (power on and back key)
connect to PC - FASTBOOT USB should show on your phone
Run the RUU youve downloaded
if you need to, you will have to root / S-OFF again after this has completed.
EDIT-- make sure you run it as administrator if not using XP. And turn off any antivirus etc...
Better link for the RUU:

Really big thanks for the fast reply. I will try this. Downloading the stock rom with 17KB/s... having a 16000DSL connection... oh boy. I will have a nap now.

Wow. Big thx. Downloading with 1,5MB/s now.
The RUU flash stops after a while giving me an error saying something with user ID. I guess this happens because it´s not an 0² rom. HTC has special roms for 0² germany. (I had a HTC Leo, same here. I had to download a special 0² stock rom to get back to total factory settings.)
I hope there is Desire stock 0² rom somewhere...
Don't think there was an o2 DE RUU available, got a link for the o2 UK one?
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed.exe
No MultiUpload this time, sorry
Well, I tried 4 or 5 different WWE and Europe ROMs now. Everytime the same: ERROR # xxx USER ID bla bla. The flash is cancelled then...
Nothing works. Hours of research...
That's because you need a gold card, without one you're screwed
Nope.
I solved it.
I downloaded OTA_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.8-1.21.405.2 (3085)
(Froyo OTA manual update) renamed it to update.zip and put it on my sd. Then I booted to the bootloader, switched to recovery (I figured out how to get to the blue recovery menu) and then I installed the update.zip. It aborted suddenly, but somehow android boots normally again. Seems like it works fine. Testing now.
Ok, the system did run buggy. I downloaded this at the o² Germany website, installed it on my desire and now everything works like a charm again.

[Q] Htc Desire - Trying to Un-Root it (Expansys Version)

Hello everyone,
I have a HTC Desire 18181 that i want to sell it, and therefore unroot it to the starting condition.

Kernel version: 2.6.32.15-Froyo_bravo_vs Root at Athena #9
My current version: 2.29.405.5 Droidzone - Starburst 1.3.3.5
I tried many roms from Shipped Roms but i cant seem to find my version. All the roms i tested produce either the result that its not the appropiate rom or a strange error that reports that my battery is below 30% (its 90%!!)
Anyone can help, will be appreciated

Hi. Follow these steps and you will be back stock and no S-OFF or ROOT.
First of all get the latest RUU WWE 2.29.405.5. Extract the PB99IMG.zip file from the RUU: here it is how: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=880268 -2nd post.
Also make sure you don't have a custom HBOOT (in bootloader the version of HBOOT should look like this if it is custom: 6.93.0001 and at the top should write Alpharev and something else) or you will need first to flash the HBOOT downgrader prior to running the RUU.
You will need to a Gold Card if your phone was branded.
1. Extract the PB99IMG.zip and put it on root of SD Card.
2. Reboot in bootloader (Volume-Down + Power)
3. It will automatically load the img and ask you if you want to install
4. Check Yes and follow onscreen progress.
5. Wait untill it finnishes
6. I think it will reboot itself, if not scroll down to the Reboot obtion and press Power button to select.
Follow this guide for Gold Card:

4. Do I need a Goldcard?
If you have a recent version of the RUU for your Device, available on Shipped Roms, you dont need a goldcard. This is the usual scenario for people who purchased their Desire in Europe, and so have an unbranded Desire. All Branded Desires need a correct branded version of the RUU, and any other RUU including WWE (Worldwide English, or European) RUU will not work for them. Also if an unbranded Desire user wishes to change RUU to a branded version, he will need a Goldcard. This is because all Desires have a particular software tag in the Rom, called the InfoCID. This dictates the Region code. For Eg. An Indian Desire is branded and has InfoCID of HTC__038. When you change a RUU to different region, what you actually do is reset the InfoCID setting. Changing the InfoCID setting requires a Goldcard.
5. What is a Goldcard?
It is a normal MicroUSB card specially prepared in such a way that its Sector 0 (which normally doesnt hold anything useful) is modified, so that it signals to the HTC RUU that the InfoCID may be changed.
6. How do I create a Goldcard?
Just download this tool (Credits and All Rights by [email protected]), and run it.
7. Can you tell me more about Goldcards?
Sure. I've already posted it for you. Read the FAQs in this thread.

HTC Wildfire original condition

Hello!
I have a question.
Currently I have the phone Rooted and a custom Rom is installed. Now you have my phone for repair. I would like the phone back in the original condition (ie without root privileges and ClockworkMod menu) to bring.
I had then the original image, which I did for the root time, have re-played.
But unfortunately I get the menu ClockworkMod not go away.
The menu is still available.
Next try:
After I had been playing the original image, and I had started the cell phone was offered by T-Mobile is an update.
But unfortunately this update is not installed.
It aborts with an error message.
Now I have read that I should just flash the original RUU, Complete new. So I went to shipped rom on the side and I have the appropriate RUU for my phone charged. (RUU with the Tmobile UK).
But this I do not get installed.
The flash process is interrupted after a few minutes with the error 140 (wrong bootloader version).
Now my question:
How do I bekome out there, I have on my phone without the original T-Mobile software ClockworkMod, or do I uninstall ClockworkMod?)
Did any of you an idea?
Thank you!

what is your language?
is your phone branded?
you have breaked your recovery?
Maybe you have installed the bootloader driver from Unrevocked
Is yes, download and install htc syn from its official site and after the installation, unistall ONLY htc sync, not the drivers
my phone is unbranded and i used this

it will update your HBOOT to 1.01.00001 so you need s-off to flash recovery and custom rom

Hello!
I have my phone with Rooted Unrevoked3.
Then a Custom Rom installed. (DK ROM).
Original is the phone branded by T-Mobile Germany. It was originally Froyo still on the phone.
HTC Sync I have installed and then uninstalled so I only have the drivers on my computer.
For flash process:
I've taken on shipped-rom RUU following:
RUU_Buzz_TMO_UK_1.14.110.1_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.19_release_130442_signed
If I'm in HBOOT USB plug mode, the mobile is an Android Phone - Android detected bootloader interface.
However, so after the start of the RUU, the phone is not detected!
If I'm in the fast boot mode, the USB phone as a USB device is Android - My HTC detected.
Even after you start the RUU detected the phone and I can start the flash process.
However, it comes out after a minute the error 140 (bootloader error).
If I install the image, which I then made by the original ROMs, will start after the one offered on Air update.
This, however, can not even install.
The flash process will start, but after a short time I see a picture in the phone with an Android males and a triangle. Then I am back in ClockworkMod menu ....
As I've written, I only want to install my phone with the original RUU from T-Mobile Germany and the menu should disappear ClockworkMod ...
Did any of you an idea?
What happens if I flash a non T-Mobile RUU ....?
I can try to flash another RUU and then later, my T-Mobile?
Please Answer, thank you
Greeting Hollux
You will have to downgrade MISC Partition, to allow "Downgrading" your ROM. (DK Custom ROM is based on 2.22.405.1, and you are trying to flash 1.10.114).
The Guide for AlphaRev X to Downgrade HBoot from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001 follows this same procedure, but, its for the WWE 2.22.405.1 ROM only.
But, you can follow this procedure, since you are on HBoot 0.80x
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
Obviously, the command version numbers will change in your case, and, you will need the TMO Rom.zip from that RUU.
NB - Disclaimer - It should work, but, it's a sensitive process, and I am not responsible for bricks.
