Hello again everyone. It has been a long few months. I had hoped that I would be back in the community by now but some things have been keeping me back. My mother has been having medical issues for a while now and I have been going through some desperate financial times. This was going on while I was active also I just didn't say anything. And I am embarrassed and hate that I have to do this now.
Well here it is. I need $50,000 to save my home. So I am asking that if you can spare anything to please send it to my paypal [email protected]. I am not into the social media thing so if you can spread the word to friends and family I would greatly appreciate it. If I don't get enough to save my home I will return all of the money. If you prefer to loan the money to me I will work as hard as possible to pay it back as quickly as I can. Just send me an email so we can work out the details.
I am really sorry for coming at you all like this but I don't know what else to do. If this is breaking the forum rules I deeply apologize and hope that you can understand my circumstances.
On a better note, I hope to have a computer setup in the next week or two. I see ALOT of things have changed since I have been out, and it might take a little bit to get back into the swing of things, but hope to be contributing again soon.
Thank you all for everything that you do.
Sincerely,
crawrj

Thank you for the kind words and support.
At first I thought this was a joke.
Unfortunately, I realized it wasn't. It may or may not be against "forum" rules, but it's definitely against "things that are done" rules. Seriously, coming onto a smartphone forum/community and hitting the public up for 50 THOUSAND dollars???
Wow.. I don't really know what to say. I guess this may be the only way to explain it:
This week, I'm moving into a MUCH smaller home, because I seriously fell behind on my house note, and yes, the bank repossessed it, and it sucks, and it is happening all over the place. I did my best to come up with the shortage (the bank wanted the full amount, so it was more than 50k), but finally, I accepted my fate and am trying to get through a tough situation by dealing with the things I can control, and disregarding the things I cannot. However, throughout the last ~4 months I tried to save the house, not ONCE did the thought ever even enter my brain that it'd be an OK idea to come on XDA (or any social site for that matter) and flat-out ask other people to give me THEIR money so I could solve MY problem. I just don't get that at all.
Look, I'm sorry you're having a rough time: I really am....
But this isn't the place to ask for financial aid. Man up and deal with it the best you can, and keep the talk around here about Android, and Roms, and ICS, and yadayadayada.... That's what it's meant for, nothing else.
Just my 2 cents.

He didn't ask for 50,000 dollars. He said that was what he needed to save his house. If it was someone else, any of the contributors in this community I would have not even given it a thought. But given the amount of time he has spent here and the things that he has done I could stand to give a couple bucks. I can already tell you the likely hood of making the amount in donations from people who have used his work or been helped by him is not going to happen. That doesn't mean the freeloaders can't chip in.
If people want to help out someone who has spent time helping make the E4GT community (and much further back) what it is then they can feel free to donate. If it is seen as something against the rules the moderators will deal with it as well.
I need $30,000 to pay off my student loans and another $7,000 to pay off my car! Please donate to me
Anyways sorry to hear about your bad luck. Hopefully things will work them selves out.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's illness and hope she is on the mend and feel for you with your financial issues.
Have you checked into the programs available to homeowners to help with mortgage issues? I don't own a home so I'm not intimately familiar with them but perhaps your lender could point you in the right direction or maybe you could find something via Google.
I hope your situation improves soon. If I find out anything that might assist you I'll pass it along and will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

I am terribly sorry that you had to go through that and certainly understand your opinion on the matter. I would gladly "man up" if it were only about me. But I have children to consider and I am trying my best to keep them from being impacted by this. And I will do whatever I can to keep that from happening. To me that is "manning up" but that is just my opinion. And maybe you have kids also. I am only stating where I am coming from. Trust me, I don't like this any more than you do. Plus I am not asking for a handout. If someone is capable of loaning me the money I am more than happy to pay it back. So if this offends you or you just simply don't want anything to do with it then please just ignore it. Negative comments aren't necessary.

I'm really sorry to hear about your financial troubles, and I hope everything takes a turn for the positive for you and your family. I do agree that this is most definitely not the place to be coming to for help like this but you know something? I would do the exact same thing if I was in your shoes so f*ck 'em. It takes a real man to swallow his pride and ask for help especially among your peers that have as much respect for you as this forum does. It shows that you are humble and will do what you can to take care of your family, even it just means asking a bunch of anonymous internetters for a little help. Unfortunately, all I can offer you are these words, so I wish you the best of luck and again I hope things turn around for you.

Okay, fair enough. Maybe I was just venting my frustration over losing almost 10 years of equity.. I DO know what you're going through though... If you do come to the realization that the mortgage isn't going to be extended, and it does go in to repossession, I CAN give you a lot of good advice on how to still occupy the home for a lot longer than you might think. The bank will make it sound like they're gonna kick you out on the street. They can't do that, if you take advantage of a few laws that they must abide by. You can do all this without a lawyer, if you'd like more details, pm me. (For example, my house was sold back to the bank in November, but for a while, it looked like they were going to allow me to reinstate my mortgage.. That didn't end up happening, and I'm moving this week, but it's been almost 7 months since the house was actually repossessed, and STILL not one person from the bank has demanded that we leave.. That's a lot of time to get a new head start, even if you can't save your home... Like I said, PM me if you need that kind of advice.

Not to sound like a d-bag, but if your in such dire straits why are you worrying about getting a computer and deving? That sound like you have your priorities all wrong. You shouldn't be worrying about a computer at all unless it makes you money in some way or fashion. I do appreciate all the work you've done for us but really you should get all this sorted before you even think about contributing again.

I'm not in the best of positions right now myself, but next Friday (pay day) I'll chip in. Even if it's $10, I'm sure you can use it more than I would. Good luck and I wish you well.

I feel for him because I know what it's like from developing a MUCH MUCH smaller app, it gets very annoying.
At the same time though, I hate seeing these posts and how the devs let the community get them so worked up, we're all human but things like this you need to be able to deal with and know they will happen.
Hope the dev can enjoy his holidays and
He's definitely getting a donation from me when we get TWRP. No question.

I feel like the ET4G users are more grateful after reading that. I mean, that ICS thread had almost or over $2k in pledges. I'm sure he will be happy with how our community, for the most part, acts and reacts after he releases.
Anyone else know immediately that it was Agraben as soon as they saw Teamwin mentioned?
I "kinda" feel for the guy, but he's always been very much of a "loves to dish it out, but can't take it" kinda guy.
When Team Alpharev or whatever beat them out for s-off on the HTC devices, he about had a meltdown.
He went full-hostile to pretty much the world for a while (on Twitter, at least), so much that the rest of Teamwin was doing the "we don't know this guy" dance for a bit.
Either way, though, I don't wanna wish anyone bad news, so I hope he gets it all worked out, because he's very much a hell of a developer, one of the best. (And it's very right-on for him to fulfill his obligations.)
He wrote they only received $500 on the hdmi port. I thought there was a bounty for that. I don't remember the amount but I think it was larger than $500. I will try to confirm but if it is true, than another bounty that failed.

Which is why bounties need to be done away with completely. Some people seem to pledge just to see the amount get high enough that it will "light a fire" under the devs. Then, when the product is released, they don't follow through on their pledge, but use the product anyway.
I know that the other members from team win haven't been so active and we may be witnessing the end. Heck one of them posts about how much he likes his I phone

I follow Agraben on twitter, I have noticed his tweets getting more and more crazy! I think part of the problem is everyone was riled up and ready for TWRP2 when he saw the communities excitement he began to add more devices to TWRP2. Daily he would tweet about adding another device whether it was a phone or tablet, his work load was growing. I began to see TWRP2 never being released due to endless device adding, lol. Then I saw the tweet where he wanted $/donations to pay for 1/2 the new Galaxy Nexus, I dont think that panned out to well and it seems he bought the device anyway. That would be enough to tick any one of our wives off! And we all know it the wife isnt happy, neither are we, lol. If he had dropped the recoveries he had for the devices that were ready 2 months ago, things may be a bit different. People might be riled up to send some donations that way, but the endless device adding got everyone down, myself included.

Whoops, wrong thread indeed LOL.
Its a fine line that many dev's have to walk; one side of them loves to work on new devices and the challenge of getting something to work on a device can be very intoxicating..On the other hand, it takes away from your personal life, and, eventually, the moochers, leechers, and the folks who feel they are entitled to everything and anything for free just because the registered of a web forum, drives away the creative, sharing folks who make the great software that we get to play with on our phones..
Frankly, even if he got paid for all the things he has developed for smartphones, it wouldn't make a differences, because, the first jerk bait, who complains about having to wait for an update, would just set him off again..
Any dev posting stuff on XDA, has to think about how they will deal with all the obnoxious ass wipers who seem to have overrun what used to be a fun, and exciting place to interact with others; its not just XDA that has this issue now, its pretty much every "Free" web forum that offers software and programs for anyone who can figure out how to register..
Maybe a "membership fee" type site, would help keep some of the worst, most obnoxious, douchebags out??
^ indeed.

Let's get this thread going by listing donations we've made and to which developers. No need to post amounts as no matter how large or small your donation is, I'm sure the awesome devs will still appreciate it. The OP will be updated to list member names please be honest, we don't want a thread with fake donations. The devs for this phone deserve better than that! Thanks community.

I think many would like to keep this private and see this as bragging. To me, it becomes about ego and false pride if you have to tell others about your charity.
But to each his own I guess.
I've given support to many in many devs in many different device forums, over the years because I appreciate the skill, time and work they put into it. Not large sums by any means but at least something when I can/I]. But I believe most devs do it for the fun of learning and tinkering. And then just getting some well deserved thanks is a huge thing (or is/was in my case) I know the donations are certainly appreciated and help give some motivation and cover expenses but some people just can't give all the time.
That's just my two cents - from an older guy who's been a tinkering with systems since when we actually had to write code on a punch card machine.
dang
my bad than people, it just seems to me that the majority of our devs are leaving so I thought this might help a few stay, or at least feel appreciated even though they are leaving. Lots of immaturity on these forums made a few leave, plus the s3...

If a dev is in it for the Donations, Then why would you want there work any way. You do not get the best work from people that do it for money. Oh and just to let you know they are not getting very much and that is not the reason we dev. We dev because it is fun.
Though I've seen a lot of people post their confirmation of donation in an open thread, I choose to donate privately when I am able to give at all. Though I'm not able to give as much as I would like for the amazing work we are given, I hope my fawning adoration makes up for it.
Stupid thanks limit
Word to the wise. Never donate to any "developer" asking for donations before any rom/kernel is released. Ive kept my eye on the whole swamp goblin donation scam. That seems to happen alot around different sites. I would think a user who pulls a scam like that would be banned? Its gotta be against xda rules?

The Dev performed the disappearing act...
Swamp Goblin doesn't believe he actually asked for donations, I think it's a perception issue.
I understand Devs have real lives and don't get paid for what they do (aside from occasional donations) therefore they are beholden to no one for ETAs, however when you request help to get a specific phone and promise a product for it then you do have an obligation to at least stay present in the situation. That doesn't mean you have to have it complete but you do need to be active in letting people know what's going on.
Also I agree with a post made in another thread regarding this, if you know you are too busy to put full effort towards a project on which you asked for a donated phone, then you shouldn't have ever started the process until such time when you were unencumbered by so much other stuff. I have to say that people were incredibly tolerant with his lack of output for quite some time and should be acknowledged for that, it has only been recently that people have grown wary of his actual intentions and started to question his motives directly.
My only real issue with the guy (other than his lengthy absences from posting any sort of information) is that he once commented that he was struggling with the sense build so he was going to spend time working on another ROM for another phone and then return to the E4GT. I don't recall exactly where it was and it may have even been edited by now but at the time I felt something was off.
Initially many of us were excited at the prospect of sense and may have allowed that excitement to color our normal judgement, I was in on the initial push to help him find a phone but I was looking at ebay and places where he might pick one up with his own money. Nevertheless, bygones I suppose.
Now, with all that said, I would hope these few instances of possible scams don't discourage people from donating. My only advice would be to pay attention to the Developer's work, reputation, support for existing products and interaction here on the forums. When we donate we do so in good faith and I'm happy to say that with the vast majority of the Devs here, we are well paid in return.
Sorry guys, but this thread is not a good idea at all. Just got off the phone with Cleo (yea, I'm that old) and she says she sees alot of name calling, pointing fingers, and bickering in this threads future. So I have to go with what she says.

All of the E4GT touch devs...thanks for all the software and tips that made being on Sprint a bearable experience. Crawj, sfhub, QBking, Agat, Sextape, rwilco12, venom, datajosh, and everybody else....thanks!
I have sold my device back to sprint and I recently bought the RAZR Maxx on Verizon. I travel ALOT for my job and the nationwide sprint network was just too terrible as far as data and cell coverage, its sad because Sprint was my first cell company 10 years ago....smh.
I'll probably get the RAZR HD when it comes out..I know i could've waited...but my sprint situation reached critical mass...and I HAD to switch. You guys are all rockstars from mars...rock on dudes...rock on. :good::good:
If everyone that switched phones or carriers started a thread like this we would have a ton of crap to search through to find any useful info. Wouldn't just hitting the thanks button once in a while be just as good? I mean unless somebody cured cancer are we not really just blank faces here anyhow?

OK I try to avoid these conversations and not respond. But come on. This is the General section. He is not trolling with some worthless garbage that many people tend to post. He is saying goodbye to a community that he has been a part of and thanking people at the same time. He has not attacked, harassed or complained about anything. He has not posted something that has been posted 100 times. And he has posted in the correct location. So if he wishes to express himself so be it. If you don't like what he is posting move on. There is no need to disrespect someone for sharing their thoughts and/or feelings.
If I left for another phone I would probably do the same thing. Because it is a community. I try to help people in my community, be it virtual or real, in any way that I can. So I don't see anything off the wall with someone saying goodbye to their community and showing gratitude for anyone that has helped them. Yes the thanks button works and yes I use it all the time. But sometimes a written message, that takes an effort to write out and that shows a thanks coming directly from you, is much better than a click of a button.
I think we should all lighten up a bit. Sometimes we take things way to serious.
YeaH!
It's only polite to say good-bye. If anyone's "trolling" it's the naysayers in this thread. The old adage, "if you don't have anything nice to say, shut the Phuck up!" Holds true here! :silly:
Give the guy break....wave good-bye and move on. Jeesh!

I would like to agree and I would back every word written above.
As a member of this community who tries to do something for our phones (I won't call myself a dev yet) I really like to see some posts and not just the tnank you count. It helps me to keep up with what I'm doing and continue doing it.
It shows me that my work is needed and wanted and IMHO without that feeling I don't know how long I would of done all this.
And I can't imagine a single person who would not appreciate simple warm words and a "thank you" message for work done and for effort and time invested in something.
And one question at the end.
This is general section for anything and everything a member whants to say or share.
What is wrong with expressing ones opinion and feeling or posting some "Thank you" words here?
Well maybe we should start a poll? I have zero talent in this area so if someone else could do that i would hit their thank you button. Hey, how come this guy didn't thank Jay or did he and i missed it? Hotspace and agate63, you forgot to thank the op, cmon now, live up to your posts.....Thank you for thanking him\her hotspace, only one more left...

I don't have a thanks button.....but thanks OP.
I changed my theme just so I could provide Thanks!
When you really want to thank someone, you do it one on one so you can look them in the eye, shake their hand, or even pm someone so they really understand you mean it.When you do it in a room full of people it's called grandstanding. You get to tell your story and then others can look at you and go "ain't that nice" so it's actually for the person saying thank you not for the person being thanked. So it's more of a drama thing than anything else. Not that i meant that's what the op was doing, I'm sure he\she was genuine.
Banter is just that.....it goes back and forth. Kind of like a volley in tennis. However, I was raised to praise in public and criticize in private. To each their own...:good:

Why's everyone rude here? Developers of ROMs don't spend hours of hard work just to be dissed. Yo. They do it because its something they mildly enjoy/want to do and wanna contribute. Being rude makes them want to not do this for us. You all can feel free to learn C, Java, C++ and the Linux command line and make us a flawless build. Although most of us aren't really capable of this. Myself included. So next time you wanna complain because something doesn't work, remember, they have lives too. Bug reports are fine, just be respectful! You all watched the noob video, right?

What I really love is when someone fubars their device because they don't even belong trying to modify them and then they get upset noone can help because their lack of reading directions/warnings has left them with a brick.
This site should be pay-for-use for non devs, that would eliminate a major amount of 1 time posters and all trolls.

Most horrible idea I've heard lol. If this happened, no one would come here.....
Also, IN MY OPINION, some devs are too sensitive. There are people in this world who are going to complain and/or expect things they didn't work for themselves. It's just how it is. If I were a dev and people were complaining to me, I'd tell them "go learn how to code your own, then come talk to me." And then go on with my day without it phasing me. I wouldn't quit the work I love and stop sharing things because that one person out of the hundreds decides to complain and doesn't like the way I'm doing things. I've seen it happen, and it's pathetic in my opinion.

I did love it, but not anymore, its been driven out of me by countless insults and utter stupidity that seems to occur constantly. I know its your opinion "some" are to sensitive, but its a personal work I'm sharing, having someone pm me that its an utter waste of time to flash because its a broken pile of....etc is a very personal insult and I see no reason to continue when I get responses like that for my time and effort.
Also, I'm not required to share anything I do, hell I can go pay per build if I feel like it. I did this because people wanted it, and I could provide it, that's all.
Its not making me stop doing something I love, it made me stop loving what I do.
I'm not sure if you dev or not, but really, until you deal with it yourself, you don't really understand where we come from. Some say go f yourselves, others just vanish, and then there's some like me that despite being burned out keep trying make the community happy (and mostly succeeding) and just get to a point where its not worth the insults anymore.
Also I'm sure there are a lot more devs that have been doing this longer then a few months and are maybe used to it.
I don't even own an a100 so its not like I just happened to have made something and shared it, I built it just for the community, I'll never run it myself.
Call it pathetic if you wish, but in my opinion you dunno what you're talking about.

I go through this almost every day actually. Maybe not making ROMs or developing programs for phones, but I have unruly people who comment and criticize my work all day long. It all goes in one ear and out the other because I know that some people are just like that and aren't thankful. I also know that I am good at what I do and that over the past few years I have pleased A LOT more people than I've disgruntled. I guess it has a lot to do with how different people cope with different things. With me, logic trumps emotion and it's very hard for me to take someone saying " your work sucks and you're a [email protected]" seriously lol. If someone pmed me and said my ROM is "an utter waste of time to flash and its broken," guess what? There's a delete button or I would just ignore it. There's going to be people like this no matter what field of work you're in.
I may not be a dev, but I do know how you feel. Alas, I'd like to say that I personally appreciate and respect you and every other dev here. They do great work for free most of the time and I honestly have no place to complain and neither do these other people. However, they shouldn't be discouraged and want to quit. Whatever happened to the "sticks and stones" rule?
Pay per build? That sounds great and I don't know why no one is doing this. If I were a dev I'd be all over making money for my hard work. Hell, I'd pay for a good ROM. It's totally worth it. But then again, it would be hard to regulate because there would need to be refunds given and stuff like that if people aren't happy lol you just never win as a dev, do you?

Yes sadly everyone does want something different from any ROM, one will never satisfy all.
Not to get personal but what do you do for work that would subject you to that kind of...feedback? And I just noticed haole lol. Not sure if its what I'm thinking, but I was born in Hawaii, I'm hapa.
Anyways as I said I take it all quite personally, especially now as it was basically a favor for someone who asked me to come back.
That said, on topic again, some people just don't understand the amount of work involved and how calling it trash (this is quite edited ofc) is almost the same a calling me the same thing. They also don't care about the time it takes and just expect it to be given to them, or demand features or additions without considering it may be past the dev's abilities or desire to even do it. It comes down to they think they're entitled to it, when and how they want it, but seen willing to learn to do it themselves.
Also the whole internet mentality of its a screen name, not a person. Insulting pio_masaki isn't the same as standing in front of me and saying the same thing. I disagree with this mentality and prefer to consider it a person, not a screen name. Strangely I'm perfectly fine ignoring some a hole insulting me in person, yet take it personally about a ROM lol.
And pay per build would be quite difficult to implement, especially because it would need tailored per user, the time wouldn't be worth the cost to me, or the cost wouldn't be worth it for the user, I mean figure $10 an hour to build a ROM to be worth my time. User wants a cm10, tablet ui, memory bar added. Takes me 6 hours to implement the changes, sync, build. Would you pay $60 for a ROM for an a100? Not likely. I don't mean you personally, but the average user. They'll just use B1 instead lol. Maybe if I came and installed it for you or something lol

Felt my rant belonged here. And a note on it, this is not aimed at A100 users, but everywhere on XDA.
Civatio-Retired
Pio-Retired
Linuxsociety-Retired
Waydownsouth-MIA/Retired
These were the major players when it came to ROM development on the A100.
And the general public has annoyed/angered most of them to the point of retirement or quitting.
What is wrong with people today?
I used to love chatting on forums with random people with common interests. Than I came to XDA. I'm not talking to anyone specific here OK, but in general, I've never met a mass gathering of people with common interest that act so hateful, childish, ungrateful, and reduce themselves to petty squabbles on a nearly hourly basis. And I am guilty of these acts of well. We all just need to step back in most situations and ask ourselves can I do this? or aren't I hear to learn and help?
I guess there's no point to my rant...
Looks like it's time to teach myself how to atleast update source.
I'm not talking about an expensive fee, ever $5 per year would be enough to keep the trolls away, Many years ago people said they'd never pay for torrent sites no look at the state of torrenting. Newsgroups are flourishing while free torrent sites are few and far between and their content is lackluster at best.
I would also be up for allowing devs to have ban powers in their own build threads. These guys do a service 99.9999% of us can't do, they do it for free and they get abuse for it. Keep your device stock if you can't act like an adult for one, and don't modify your device if you are unable to handle the real possibility of it going horribly wrong.

Depends on the individual...I completely agree with this. It's just been my personality since I was young (grew up in Brooklyn, NY...you NEED tough skin there). If I'm doing something and one or two don't like it, oh well, I know there's almost 1,000 (in this case a **** load of people!) who do! But oh well...everyone is different...I would find more satisfaction in the fact i'm contributing to the longevity of a device and others are using MY **** somewhere in this world and enjoying it.

If you charged per download not as much people would keep downloading every build you put out. I've used almost every single one of the builds you put out, the only other persons ROMs I have used is civato. And if you charged per download I know I wouldn't nearly use as much of your builds as I have. I would only download one of your builds every once in a while, and I don't even know how I would pay you since I don't even have a credit card or debit card or whatever you use to pay online. But if you could manage to keep the amount of downloads you have now while making people pay you would make a lot of money!

This thread may end up locked as irrelevant and to that, I will not object but I have a few things that I must say to those in this community who have played a hand in the game that is may life.
I would ask of a moderator intent on locking this thread to allow it at least a few hours to be seen by any who may wish to publicly respond, although it seem unlikely that one would, and obviously this request is nothing more than a request and I will not feel discontent if my request is denied.
I have a great number of things that I thought I wanted to say to you all. All such things were negative until recently.
First of all I would like to say what I feel is important regardless of how comical this will be to the less honorable of you involved because I must say it:
I forgive you. Of my own free will I fully forgive any wrong doing done against me by any and all who participated.
Secondly: (and this part was even more difficult for me)
I thank you. While I feel as though I have (almost literally) been through hell and back again in the last eight to ten months I have come to the point where I can forgive the actions against me, which leaves me in such a state that I have no option but to thank everyone for all the things that can be seen as a silver lining.
Through the course of these events I feel I have learned things that I would never have even considered otherwise and as a result I feel I have grown in a way that will benefit me and anyone with whom I am associated. Although I know not what your intentions were, you have changed me in ways that I can call positive and for that...
Thank you.
I will overcome.
Oh my... I must thank you again already.
As soon I clicked submit a weight that cannot be measured was lifted from me and I honestly cannot say that anything I have ever experienced was as intense or liberating as this burden dissolving.
Although this may be Stockholm Syndrome, I have nothing but love for you, my captors, and hope to continue to grow in such ways.
I should also point out that while I have obviously been unable to stop you and probably remain powerless in this regard; you have no cause to continue... it will not affect me any longer and you will only harm yourselves.
PS
I have decided to burn all of the evidence that I have collected including some IP addresses and phone numbers that were not easy to obtain.
I will seek no vengeance.

I don't know that will ever end. I am tested everyday in ways that near break me every time and it almost cost me my humanity.
I think that someone has distorted and warped a sacred philosophy to the point where they no longer understand it....
"Do what though wilt"
Is only the one and true law if your will is not compromised by the sickness that is jealousy.
One's will is only divinely backed if one has no ill intent.
One's will cannot be stopped be if the outcome benefits all involved.
Let me find a quote from a more informed source. It can be summarized well by one smarter than myself.
and honestly, regardless of whether the storm had passed or if I temporarily rested safely in it's eye;
I had not yet forgiven so it all still existed in full effect insomuch as the way it affected me.
Forgive me but, what exactly did you do wrong?
"Give wings to your fancy, for fairer than any picture that you can paint with thought is the future that you can claim with will. Once you have imagined, once you have chosen, say, "I will." And there is nothing on earth that can hinder you for long: for you are immortal and the future is obedient to you.
You say death may stand in your way? It will not.
You say that poverty and sickness or friends and enemies obstruct your path? They certainly will not. Nothing can, unless you permit it.
But you must choose, and never again must you wish for anything for you need only say, " I will. " You must say it always in thought and in deed, not only in these words now.
And henceforth never for a moment must your purpose change, but your constant intention must turn everything you touch in line with it.
Then, if that which you have chosen is not harmful, it will be yours before long."

Then again.. maybe some of the "What" does need to be discussed... because the modifications people were able to make on my phone were disturbing and maybe if I knew what information to provide we could tighten the security for everyone else so these hacks don't get any more out of control.
I have erased/burned most of the stuff that could have implicated anyone as a gesture of good will, but I think I did save some of the modified apps in a couple of backups.
Any thoughts on what I could upload that could be used?
An example that we could both benefit from and protect again malice :
Whoever was involved was able to permanently root my phone in param/.lfs to such a degree that even Sprint's technicians couldn't remove it.
It got to the point where they would just hand me another phone when I walked in... no fees or anything.
We don't know one another my friend, but through Christ I pray you'll be fine. And what doesn't destroy you can only make you stronger.

I remember this. You were attacked via phone some time ago. I remember the thread that really started as a simple question and turned into you and others figuring out you had been hacked. Am I correct?

I don't remember a thread quite like that. That does however sound like a combination of a couple threads, maybe?
The only thread I posted about me being hacked was an embarrassing fail in which I thought the situation was more serious...basically, I bit some deeply buried misimformation hook, line and sinker and thought that it was uncovered fact.
I would enjoy it all if it were a (b) movie I was watching.
This forum is probably a good place to ask: does anyone know anything about removing hacks that are coded into images stored on a protected partition?
Sorry that I don't know enough about hacking to identify specifics. It took me forever to even realize where they were and I have only ever been to modify /param/.lfs with the use of an application.
I don't mean to disrespect but you sound plain crazy bro. If you've been hacked and think that your identity is in jeopardy, contact the authorities and your bank. This kind of thing happens all the time and there resources available to prevent any harm being done.
That being said, you are an important person around here and have done a lot of amazing work. Thank you for that. I hope you can ease your mind because you are coming off as a little unwell.
Life is to short to have spent these last many months worrying about this. Go on a camping trip or something.

I don't understand? I mean no disrespect either, but I have no idea how anything I have said would make me sound "unwell" or "crazy."
I would not be offended by whatever clarity you give me there.
All I have said (basically) is that I have learned a lot and forgive malice because I have moved on.
If I were forced to describe that in a word, I would choose, "healthy."

By that I basically just mean paranoid and kinda out there. Like you are spun.
Did someone here send you a file with a Trojan or something? How or why would somebody want to hack your phone?
Do you presume they are still an active member here and are reading this thread, and that is why you made it?
Like you said, it's vague. That's why it comes off a little odd, to me at least.
