Hi all --
I'm on liquid 3.5, and for some reason, it didn't include the sound recorder apk. I've taken it from stock 4.04 and installed it as a system app, but for some reason, when used in conjunction with the ringtone maker app I use, I can't get it to save anything I've recorded, it just gives me an error. It's as if it doesn't have permission to write to the internal memory. I've fixed permissions to rw-r-r like all the apps in the system/app folder; I've changed the ownership to "0-root" for both owner and group; does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? I like to make custom notifications recording my daughter's voice, and I can't do it while I have this problem.
Thanks so much in advance!

Hello,
Been searching for this but only find results for the camera (photo). I want to know if there's a way to shut the beep sound when you want to RECORD a video on stock rom, theres also a beep sound when the focus works. This beep is too loud, I need to cover the hole from the speaker on the back, still can hear though.
Is there a way to have an option like in settings for the shutter sound photo camera ON/OFF ? something to add like I did in the CSC feature file
or using the Xposed framework installing an apk.
I have a rooted device but dont want to install it with CWM or things like TWRP in my phone since I dont want them. I dont want to erase audio files from the audio library as well. ^^
thanks
With root explorer (must be rooted ofcourse). Navigate to system/media/audio/ui/cam_start.ogg and cam_stop.ogg change permissions by unchecking all checked. Done

Hey buddy, you can use tasker to mute that ****ty shutter sound.
Just create a profile that is triggered by the Camera apps and in the task mute the system volume. Note that you gotta add an exit task to unmute the system volume or else your phone will keep muted :cyclops:
Hi all!
With the help of this forum I managed to get CM 10.2 (TeamCanjica) working an my Ace 2! Hurray!! This breathed new life into my smartphone!
Right now I have the minor problem that the volume (loudness) of the music is too low when using headphones.
There are some apps in the google play store but these are adressed to Gingerbread not Jelly Bean. So they will not help I guess.
I suspected some settings in a system file, made a search and found these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2400231
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168836
But both threads mention files or directories which I do not find in my system directories (using the file explorer of CM).
Does anybody know where I can find the right files containing the volume settings in CM 10.2 (TeamCanjica)?
Maybe its silly question but do You set full permission in file manager options ?
While the listening music you can try slightly turn headphone jack. This may be help to you. I experienced this problem and solved with this way. By the way you can find and tune some sound settings in Sound Manager (Headphone / Speaker / Bluetooth etc.)

Full permission to what? As mentioned above I did not find any of the config files which were describes in the links above.
I guess I first have to find these config files. In CM 10.2 for Ace 2 they seem to be at an other place or have an other file name.

Thanks, I will try that.
Regarding the sound settings I have already found these sound settings. I turned off the sound limiter in the settings and pushed the volume up toas far as it will go. But unfortunately the volume is still too low. When using the headphones with an older Ipod Touch I hear the music significantly louder.
Hi. I have same problem. After try few mods like awesomebeats (after flash I have bootloop) I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2203255 - you can change setting and add few feature to sound driver. It's work great for our problem.
I have tried renaming the sound in system media audio ui folder, but it has stayed persistent. Anyone know if the real files are elsewhere or another way?
I finally found a solution in App Settings module for xposed, in case anyone else needs it.
is there anyone there have found a way to disable the shutter sound on the g4 ?
have tried to rename the system files but no luck the sounds might be imbedded in the camera apk ?

Renaming is enough. You have to kill the camera one to have an effect.

You say you've renamed the system files and that wasn't working and your solution is the same as what's not working?
Silent files seems to be a solution. But why? There has to be a sound file, somewhere hidden. When I delete the startup ogg, the sound is gone. So why not with the cam ogg's!?
I hate to bring back old threads but it's better than creating another one for the same exact question:
I just got another G4, h811 and rooted, trying to disable the camera shutter, i've renamed all files at first and nothing was working, the shutter still persists, then i went and delted all the camera files in the 'system>media>audio>ui folder, and rebooted the phone, and checked back inside the folder, the files are gone, but the camera shutter still persists! All the camera sounds are still on, the autofocus, the click, and the shutter sound. What gives??
Hi guys,
i don't like most of the sound any smartphone does when doing any kind of stuff.
So i simply deleted all sounds in system/media/audio/ui.
Since goolge is putting some sound of their camera app (for example the HDR+ shutter sound) in the apk file itself i modified this, too.
I opened it with winrar and replaced any .ogg file with an empty one.
Afterwards i deleted the .odex file of the google camera and also cleared the dalvik cache with TWRP.
The camera app is still working so i guess everything went well.
But the HDR+ shutte sound is still there
What am i doing wrong?
I'm kind of clueless.
Thanks for your help!
