I have a situation that I cannot find elsewhere on this forum, so I have to start a new thread.
I rooted and loaded CWM on my wife’s Kindle about 6 weeks ago, with KFU. Everything was fine until a few days ago my wife let the kindle battery die. I charged it up and booted it and everything seemed fine. A few hours later I looked at it and on the screen was the yellow triangle with the android, (not firefirefire logo). I held down the power button for 20 sec. and when it rebooted, I went into clockwork recovery. I then wiped cache partition and Dalvik cache. Rebooted everything seemed fine. Then it happened again, same fix, no problems. Then it happened again, same solution. We haven’t let the battery go down below 20% since.
Any ideas as to what happened or how to fix it?
If this has been covered before, I apologize. Please point me in the right direction.
Can you boot the KF in to the operating system or are you stuck at the yellow triangle with the android? I can't tell from your post. It seems like you were booting fine but now you're not?
It will boot fine 10 out of 10 times. But about every other day this keeps happening.
I'll go to grab it and the 'Error Android' logo is on the screen. Then I have to force shut down, go into CWM wipe caches, reboot and everything is fine for a day or two, then it happens again.
Also is it possible to bring this thing back to BONE STOCK?
For a pure stock restore follow this thread. It worked for me.

Last night I hooked up to KFU, installed TWRP and hopefully everything will be groovy now. If not, It's back to stock I go.
Thanks for the help.

Hey all, first time poster. I wrote a real nice explanation of my problem, but i lost it so anyways, i'll keep it short(ish).
The EVO is less than 3 weeks old, running the latest OTA, recently rooted using UnrEVOked 3, nothing fancy. I ran the battery down completely last night (first time since i got the phone) and once i got to a power source, it wouldn't boot correctly. It hangs at the white splash screen, and then finally boots up but won't respond to any touch input.
Also the phone seems to be running exceedingly slow, the boot process takes substantially long than normal once it gets past the splash screen and my live background is freezing and seems to be stuttering.
I launched into the bootloader and i get a "Touch Panel - Fail". LAME!
I'm not sure what to do at this point, whether i should wipe it or go back to stock or what. Any advice would be much appreciated.
UPDATE:
I managed to get the phone into the recovery console, make a back up (i was planning on going back to the stock image) and wipe the dalvik cache and fix permissions. I rebooted and voila! fixed. Hopes this helps any one else who has this problem.
Moral of this story: Travel with a charger.
Another update. It froze up again in the middle of sending a text. I rebooted by battery removal, and it did the same thing again. Super long splash screen and sluggish boot up, no touch response when it finally came up. I booted into recovery and cleared the dalvik cache again. Seems to be working again now. We'll see if it does it again.....
Well, the screen locked up again. I tried going through the whole process again. I wiped the caches and battery stats, nothing. I wiped all the storage and data, booted into a clean stock interface, nothing. Restored the backup image, and then at some point, through all the rebooting and whatnot, it just shut down completely. I can't even get it to the bootloader. I'm really feeling like it's a hardware problem, and i've made peace with sending it back for TEP, but i have no way to unroot it.
Any suggestions? Please......
Theres unroot processes out there. I cant remember where but ive seen them. Mine gets sluggish too, but after a reboot its ok. You cant even get into the bootloader tho. I'm not even close to an expert but.......uh I'd 'lose' it and call the insurance co....
The problem only happens when I reboot or turn on the phone. When it boots up, I get multiple results. A: It boots up normally (not a problem) B: When it gets to the samsung screen, it freaks out and reboots itself again and again. It's like it's struggling to boot up. One time it got to the gs 3, but then it looped back. C: This just happened today. I booted up and it went pass the samsung screen but when it got to the gs 3 screen, the screen turned a faint pink and it stayed on that screen.
This just happened right after version 8. I know 10 was messed up but on 9 and 11, this problem persisted. Also,I don't think the issue is the phone, since I don't have this problem on other Roms. If I'm wrong please let me know .
Any suggestions, advice, help, etc is welcomed.
Please... i really need help.
I suggest you start over, this will remove any corruption and gremlins you have klinging to your phone..

I unrooted, went back to stock, it did a factory reset so no bugs should have been alive. I re-rooted, made a backup, did a factory reset and wiped dalvik, then I flashed the rom zip and rebooted. It gets stuck on the Gs III screen. I waited like 5 minutes and it didn't move. My battery was at 50% so I just put it on the charger and tried to boot up and it went through to the set up screen for gmail.Just to see if it was coincedental, I did another reboot but this time it got stuck again. It sounds like a system problem but i'm not sure.Like i said earlier, this only happens on Jellybomb.
Any other ideas?
Edit: I've tried switching recoveries but it doesn't fix it.
Sigh.
So after a bunch of issues getting this KF back to usable using a factory cable I am still having issues. I have installed all versions of TWRP from 2.2 to 2.6. I have tried flashing the stock ROM on each TWRP version 3 times (just to be sure!). In every instance, the KF gets stuck on the stock boot screen. Sometimes it would come up with the stock message saying it needs to restore and press the power button. I then press it, and it goes back to it. Most of the time it just stays on the boot screen with no restore option. I have used KFU, fastboot, unbrick, and pretty much anything that was out there and still NOTHING but a boot screen. Does anyone have ANY options for this besides trying to convince Amazon to exchange it?
How long does it actually take to flash the ROM? No matter what I try, it seems the flashing process is takes less then 20 seconds, so I assume that is not flashing the entire ROM and that is why I get stuck at the logo screen only.
Make Sure you wipe Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and Dalvik before flashing Stock. After flashing wipe dalvik again. I would recommend flashing external storage then. After that revolt. You might wait like about a few 2-5 Minutes but it will eventually boot.

Thank you for your reply and help! I have done all that repeatedly, except the external SD wipe. Nothing worked! I have a bigger issue at hand now. I accidentally left the KF hooked to the PC overnight with the FC. When I came down in the morning, the KF would not power on. I left it charge from a wall adapter for 5 hours, and still won't power on. It is getting warm like its retaining a charge, but no screen light or charge light. I have tried all options I have found on here and other sites to reset the KF, no luck! Any thoughts on this?
Hello,
Ive had this device for now 3 months and never once had a problem. I did however stay on stock for quite awhile just rooted. Recently Ive been testing out different roms and ran through quite a few until I heard about the all mighty CM gem by Sultan. So I figured I would give it a shot. Went ahead and downloaded that along with gapps like any other rom. Booted into TWRP and wiped both the system and cache/dalvik. Then went ahead and attempted to install the rom. Unfortunately midway through it froze and my screen artifacted. I figured I would give it a few seconds and the screen turned black with the notification light turned on. I then tried to reset it with a volume+power combo and nothing happened. After about 5 mins of letting it rest it turned back on.
I went ahead and tried this process again thinking it was just a fluke but nope happened again. So I figured it was a corrupt zip file and I would just go back to the stock image I flashed before which was working perfectly fine. Again froze and gave me artifacts. Hoping to find an answer I downloaded the latest TWRP image and flashed the roms again. Same outcome. I even went out of my way to flash the stock recovery, fully reset all my data through there and then reflash TWRP and sideload Sultan's CM. Which I for once actually got into the ROM however now whenever I get into the ROM my phone overheats instantly and I get the nasty artifacts back along with a reset of the phone. Well kind of the screen goes black and I have to wait until it cools off to turn it back on or else it wont turn on.
Anyone have this issue? Anyone know how to solve this? This is my only phone and I go off to college next monday. Thanks in advanced.
UPDATE: I now cannot get the phone to turn on. No haptic feedback, no LED notification light, no recognition in windows. Literally a paperweight at this point.
The same here, flashed CM and Gapps...
Phone hangs on boot, rebooted the phone and now it won't go on..
My Nexus 7 2013 tab is stuck on boot animation and not switching on thereafter. I installed a custom rom after flasing TWRP RECOVERY 3.0.2 via P.C and thereafter using the TWRP.
The installation process is successful each time but wont go further than the boot screen. I waited for almost an hour . Evem the Gapps zip is not installing and giving error on log saying that file not mapped. Any way out of this mess? Does it have anything to do with my process? ...I advance wipe the system , data and cache before flashing and the file.
Don't know if you ever figured this out, but last night, mine froze while the kids were playing a game. I couldn't do anything at all. I had to hold the power button down for a while and it finally shut down. I charged it overnight, and all I could get it to do was display the Google screen. I searched and searched for a solution, and the only crazy thing that actually worked was to give it a good whack! I don't know why, but as soon as I smacked it (not on the glass!!), it booted right up as normal. Very odd.

Which rom? Do you use the right gapps? Flash the rom without gapps and look if it's booting

Holy ****, this worked! Had the same problem last night for the first time (I used it until the battery drained and this morning I got the loop). Smacked it on the back and now it's fully on!
Shame I got desperate and did a factory reset first
