So after a bunch of issues getting this KF back to usable using a factory cable I am still having issues. I have installed all versions of TWRP from 2.2 to 2.6. I have tried flashing the stock ROM on each TWRP version 3 times (just to be sure!). In every instance, the KF gets stuck on the stock boot screen. Sometimes it would come up with the stock message saying it needs to restore and press the power button. I then press it, and it goes back to it. Most of the time it just stays on the boot screen with no restore option. I have used KFU, fastboot, unbrick, and pretty much anything that was out there and still NOTHING but a boot screen. Does anyone have ANY options for this besides trying to convince Amazon to exchange it?
How long does it actually take to flash the ROM? No matter what I try, it seems the flashing process is takes less then 20 seconds, so I assume that is not flashing the entire ROM and that is why I get stuck at the logo screen only.
Make Sure you wipe Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and Dalvik before flashing Stock. After flashing wipe dalvik again. I would recommend flashing external storage then. After that revolt. You might wait like about a few 2-5 Minutes but it will eventually boot.

Thank you for your reply and help! I have done all that repeatedly, except the external SD wipe. Nothing worked! I have a bigger issue at hand now. I accidentally left the KF hooked to the PC overnight with the FC. When I came down in the morning, the KF would not power on. I left it charge from a wall adapter for 5 hours, and still won't power on. It is getting warm like its retaining a charge, but no screen light or charge light. I have tried all options I have found on here and other sites to reset the KF, no luck! Any thoughts on this?

I brought my Nexus Prime from Korea last month.
A few hours ago I was listening to music on my phone when it rebooted. After that it came back on for roughly 10 seconds before rebooting again.
I uninstalled a game from my phone roughly 30 minutes before this error happened.
I cannot use my phone now, I get a few seconds of use out of it before its stuck in a continuous reboot cycle.
I have tried letting it cool down (it was a hot day), removing the simcard and changing batteries. Not sure what else I can do with only a few seconds of use.
Model number - SHW-M420S
Is anyone able to help me get out of this reboot cycle?
Try to back up important things and do factory reset. Is your phone rooted? CWM recovery installed? If so, before doing factory restore you could try wiping cache/dalvik cache first.

Luckily its still a new phone, so there isn't much on it.
The phone is rooted in that I cannot access it in any way. Even connecting to a computer is useless as its only on for a few seconds before it reboots itself.
CWM recovery isn't installed, will be when the phone is working again though!
Is there a way to wipe the cache/dalvik cache or factory reset while the phone is off?
fastboot will allow you to erase data, userdata, as well as flash a custom recovery like cwm or a full rom.

edit: boot your device with POWER+VOLUP+VOLDOWN into fastboot. search google and/or xda for some fastboot tutorials.
I had this problem awhile back. It was a bum phone with hardware issue. I had to exchange it. Yours may be in the same boat.
I will try a fastboot later today and let you know the outcome, thank you.
If all else fails I'll send it back to Korea for new hardware I guess.
I ran into this problem a while ago. I had to restore the phone to stock using the image from Google. Haven't had a problem since
I was on my phone, checking XDA, reading news and so forth. I put the phone down to grab some dinner. When I got back after eating I picked up my phone and it was unresponsive.
I held down the power button for a while and nothing.
I did a battery pull and I was able to boot to the Google splash screen with the unlock symbol. Unfortunately it just hung there.
I pulled the battery again, this time I booted in fastboot, then recovery. The clockworkmod recovery main menu came up in recovery, but when trying to do a restore or anything… The blue menu would disappear and not come back. I can get to recovery, but I am unable to do anything with it.
Last night I flashed to AOKP B26 from AOKP B25. I wiped cache and dalvik. I did not do a full wipe, but according to the dev you do not need to. This morning I flashed Morphic’s kernel TNP138-RD-FUV. I used this kernel on B25 with no issues for several days as well. I wiped cache and dalvik before flashing the kernel as well. CPU was set to the default 1190 and default voltages, with the on demand governor.
It is weird that I didn’t have any issues until hours later and the phone wasn’t even in use. It is as if it wiped itself. I am wondering how and why.
At this point I am going to do a full factory ODIN restore. I don’t think there are any other options.
EDIT, as posted below:
I was getting ready to do the ODIN restore when for the heck of it I decided to let it boot normally one last time. What do I have to lose.
I booted to the Google splash screen and set it down. I got a drink and took out the trash. When I came back I noticed it was at the boot animation! It sat at the boot animation for another couple of minutes but 10 minutes after pressing the power button I was booted up.
I let it sit for another 10 before I played with it. But now its like nothing ever happened. And it boots regularly now. I even booted into recovery and it is functioning as normal.
Any ideas what happened?

In cwm is there a 'go back' option at the bottom? If not scroll up and down a few times passing from bottom to top (looping) until it says like back button activated. If back is not active power button makes screen go off and on and does not select.
This is if you are not using touch enabled cwm.

if you can get into cwm then try fastboot and flash the factory images from the boot screen

I am not using the touch enabled. I know that if you cycle through the menu too much it will disable the select button, but if you keep cycling it will enable it. This isn't that.
The screen is on, I can see the clockworkmod recovery & version in the middle of the screen. Just the ICS blue menu disappears completely. no go back or anything. just a black screen with the clockworkmod info in the middle. It is as if its thinking but it just hangs.
id suggest you try to use ADB from recovery to try and at least pull the sdcard files first of all
second id try to flash another recovery from fastboot then boot to recovery and flash a rom or restore backup
if the above doesnt work then factory image from fastboot is it

Alright I'm sure you all love these posts... Well, I've been rooting for a while so I'm not really a novice, pretty embarassing this happened really.. So I'll start by saying my device was successfully rooted a little while ago. I installed one of the cyanogenmod roms at first, but the battery life was terrible so I reverted back to stock. I then decided to play around a little with the systemui to change the battery icon to something that actually displays the battery %. Worked fine for a little while, then it started to reboot everytime I turned the screen off. It started to get annoying, so I decided to revert back to my backup and the problem still continued. Then I decided to wipe everything and install the new rom just released a little while ago and as soon as it started up an app kept forceclosing so it wouldn't work. So I rebooted into TWRP to wipe and reload again but accidently formatted the internal memory. So I did some searching as mounting wouldn't work and used a tool KF2_SRT_10.2.3 to restore the files to start from scratch. I used TWRP to set it to boot fastboot and it installed without issues. Then it was stuck in fastboot, so I used the command fastboot -i0x1949 oem idme bootmode 1 while in command prompt on my computer as I couldn't obviously boot into TWRP to do it there. Then it poped up with the red triangle with the exclamation point saying something about the data is corrupt and I should hold the power button for 4 seconds to reboot or hit it 5 times to factory reset, so I hit the button 5 times to reset. Wasn't really paying attention to it at the time, then it powered down, powered back up and now it's stuck on the splash screen.
TL;DR, flashed stock system.img and recovery using KF2_SRT_10.2.3, kindle booted to error screen saying to reboot device to press power 5 times to restore, pressed power 5 times, kindle stuck on splash screen.
The splash screen blinked like it did before it booted to the screen where you choose to boot either TWRP or the system. Computer doesn't detect it. Any ideas where I can start?
And yes I'm 100% sure this is a Kindle Fire 2, came in black box and last I checked had OS 10.2.3. Hoping this can be fixed, if not I can probably get away with sending it back to amazon. I hope.....
You need a factory cable.
From there you can restore the system from fastboot.

Thank you kindly for your quick responce! I ordered a cable because I don't have my soldering iron with me here at school and I want this fixed as soon as possible. After doing some reading this should fix everything so no further replies are needed. Thanks!
Hi, I have been running JellyTime 4.2 R11 for few weeks now on my S-OFF Desire HD.
Today, I noticed that the light was blinking and battery was low 6%, so I decided to put it into charger, and somehow when I connected it soon I accidently disconnected the charger, and when I put it back, the phone probably crashed or something, since it went black and the white screen with HTC logo appeared and it started to boot again. Now, JellyTime tries to boot, the bootanimation goes fine for sometime but then it gets stuck after "playing" the bootanimation for a while, nothing happens, even if I wait 5 minutes, it's stuck, bootanimation is frozen, no matter do I have the charger connected or not.
So, is there anything I could do, or is reflashing the only solution? I did full wipe when I flashed the ROM.
If you need more information, sure, just ask.
You could try dirty flashing, but if that doesn't work you'll have to reflash.

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't help, gets stuck still on bootanimation.
Time to full wipe and flash it again then. Wipe&FlashTime
Happened to me a few times. I suggest a battery pull before anything else. Seems stupid. But it can work in some cases

I did battery pull several times considering that the phone refused to shutdown even when holding the power button for 10 secs, so battery pull was needed every time.
Anyway, it's now running fine when I reflashed.

I have the same problem since a crash on opening the outlook-email App (JellyTime 4.2 R9).
I found, that the "data" partition causes the trouble when booting. Formating the "data" partition with "4ext recovery" fixes boot-freezing. But this is not an option for me as my last (working) backup is a couple of months ago (yes, I know - should backup more frequently...).
I was able to backup the up-to-date "data" partition (with 4ext recovery) but when restoring it (even on an fully wiped and updated system) boot sequence freezes again.
Any ideas???
Many thanks!
Solved the problem with the data-backup. Instead of restoring complete partition the APP "AppExtractor" works fine for restoring data of the partition backuped.
For now, system runs perfectly.
Conclusion:
If system hangs in Boot-Animation use Recovery for backup of up-to-date system. Full wipe system and install ROM of your choise. After that restore SMS, contacts, etc. with "AppExtractor". Apps should be installed from PlayStore as far as possible. "AppExtractor" allows restoring of app, data+app, data.
I'm not entirely sure if this is where I should post this, but I am having a problem with my Fire Phone and I really hope you guys can help.
So, story time. I was thinking that I wanted to install a new ROM on my phone just to try some new things. I decided on the SlimKat android 4.4.x ROM and I installed it with GAPPS using SafeStrap 4.01. However, the new ROM was not working correctly so I thought I installed it wrong. So, I read up a little bit more on this and it said that I had to do a factory restore beforehand so I did it with high hopes that it would work. However, it sill did not work. What happens is that I power it on, it asks whether I want to go into SafeStrap or not, it continues if I say no, and they it starts with SlimKat. After about 20 seconds, it stops the starting animation and starts its boot loop.
Since I factory restore it, I had no back ups or and ROMs that I could install on my device. I try to plug it into my computer but it is unrecognizable even if it is the recovery. I also tried going into download mode, doing it multiple ways, but with not luck. It still goes into the boot loop. I factory reset it multiple times but still with no luck. Within SafeStrap, I tried to wipe it, but it is unable to wipe the Dalvik Cache or Data. If there is any way that I can move the stock ROM onto my phone, it would solve all my problems. If any of you have any ideas, please let me know.
I having same problem. Unable to go to recovery mode in normal way, but I could managed to go to recovery by attaching it to computer with usb cable and keeping pressing power + Vol up key for few seconds.
Then I tried Factory restore, Adb Sideload original file downloaded from amazon, but the problem still not solved.
My phone is keep flashing amazon logo in loop.
If any one have idea please help.
