My Nexus 7 2013 tab is stuck on boot animation and not switching on thereafter. I installed a custom rom after flasing TWRP RECOVERY 3.0.2 via P.C and thereafter using the TWRP.
The installation process is successful each time but wont go further than the boot screen. I waited for almost an hour . Evem the Gapps zip is not installing and giving error on log saying that file not mapped. Any way out of this mess? Does it have anything to do with my process? ...I advance wipe the system , data and cache before flashing and the file.
Don't know if you ever figured this out, but last night, mine froze while the kids were playing a game. I couldn't do anything at all. I had to hold the power button down for a while and it finally shut down. I charged it overnight, and all I could get it to do was display the Google screen. I searched and searched for a solution, and the only crazy thing that actually worked was to give it a good whack! I don't know why, but as soon as I smacked it (not on the glass!!), it booted right up as normal. Very odd.

Which rom? Do you use the right gapps? Flash the rom without gapps and look if it's booting

Holy ****, this worked! Had the same problem last night for the first time (I used it until the battery drained and this morning I got the loop). Smacked it on the back and now it's fully on!
Shame I got desperate and did a factory reset first

Hi everyone,
I've got a problem. My rooted desire running ReflexTSenseHD v1.8. Last night the battery went dead or so I thought then. Anyway when I got home and I tried to charge it nothing happened. Tried a few things (battery out, battery in) and finally got it charging.
The next morning I tried to boot it and but it hangs on the white HTC screen. Took the battery out, tried it again still the same screen. Took the battery out again and tried it one last time. I booted it in the bootloader and cleared storage. This time it booted, but when it finaly got to the lock screen it said: connect charger but couldn't get it off the lockscreen. Took the battery again and this time it booted normally and worked like nothing happend.
After a few hours I got curious if it would boot normally right away. But unfortunately, the whole thing started over again.
I searched the web, but couldn't find anything like this. The white htc screen freeze is known, but that is usually due to a broken/ faulty bootchip which in my case is not likely because I can boot (sometimes).
I haven't got a clue what to do next but hope any of you do.
Thanks for reading this, and hope that somebody has a solution.

ps sometimes I can boot in recovery but most of the times it will hang on the white htc screen.
Try boot into recovery and wipe the boot, cache, system, data, dalvik cache and do a factory reset too. What on a fresh rom. If you can't be bothered with that, use an ruu which will do a fresh everything, even the bootloader. If things still are messing up, talk to HTC it your carrier.

Thanks somehow I got into recovery and wiped it all, and so far so good
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
unfortunately the issue has returned. So far I figured out that if I wait long enough, it will boot but then hangs onto the lockscreen, show the empty battery and says connect charger. I can't unlock it so the only way of rebooting is to take out the battery and start it again.
I just don't get it. It can't be a faulty bootchip, I suppose it wouldn't boot at all then.
I already tried the steps above from meaple but this time I hadn't so much luck. In booting it again.
I'm getting a little desperate by now so any help would again be appreciated.

ps: I'm on a new rom the RCMixHD v3.6 which at first worked like a charm.
The problem only happens when I reboot or turn on the phone. When it boots up, I get multiple results. A: It boots up normally (not a problem) B: When it gets to the samsung screen, it freaks out and reboots itself again and again. It's like it's struggling to boot up. One time it got to the gs 3, but then it looped back. C: This just happened today. I booted up and it went pass the samsung screen but when it got to the gs 3 screen, the screen turned a faint pink and it stayed on that screen.
This just happened right after version 8. I know 10 was messed up but on 9 and 11, this problem persisted. Also,I don't think the issue is the phone, since I don't have this problem on other Roms. If I'm wrong please let me know .
Any suggestions, advice, help, etc is welcomed.
Please... i really need help.
I suggest you start over, this will remove any corruption and gremlins you have klinging to your phone..

I unrooted, went back to stock, it did a factory reset so no bugs should have been alive. I re-rooted, made a backup, did a factory reset and wiped dalvik, then I flashed the rom zip and rebooted. It gets stuck on the Gs III screen. I waited like 5 minutes and it didn't move. My battery was at 50% so I just put it on the charger and tried to boot up and it went through to the set up screen for gmail.Just to see if it was coincedental, I did another reboot but this time it got stuck again. It sounds like a system problem but i'm not sure.Like i said earlier, this only happens on Jellybomb.
Any other ideas?
Edit: I've tried switching recoveries but it doesn't fix it.
Sigh.
Hi, I have been running JellyTime 4.2 R11 for few weeks now on my S-OFF Desire HD.
Today, I noticed that the light was blinking and battery was low 6%, so I decided to put it into charger, and somehow when I connected it soon I accidently disconnected the charger, and when I put it back, the phone probably crashed or something, since it went black and the white screen with HTC logo appeared and it started to boot again. Now, JellyTime tries to boot, the bootanimation goes fine for sometime but then it gets stuck after "playing" the bootanimation for a while, nothing happens, even if I wait 5 minutes, it's stuck, bootanimation is frozen, no matter do I have the charger connected or not.
So, is there anything I could do, or is reflashing the only solution? I did full wipe when I flashed the ROM.
If you need more information, sure, just ask.
You could try dirty flashing, but if that doesn't work you'll have to reflash.

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't help, gets stuck still on bootanimation.
Time to full wipe and flash it again then. Wipe&FlashTime
Happened to me a few times. I suggest a battery pull before anything else. Seems stupid. But it can work in some cases

I did battery pull several times considering that the phone refused to shutdown even when holding the power button for 10 secs, so battery pull was needed every time.
Anyway, it's now running fine when I reflashed.

I have the same problem since a crash on opening the outlook-email App (JellyTime 4.2 R9).
I found, that the "data" partition causes the trouble when booting. Formating the "data" partition with "4ext recovery" fixes boot-freezing. But this is not an option for me as my last (working) backup is a couple of months ago (yes, I know - should backup more frequently...).
I was able to backup the up-to-date "data" partition (with 4ext recovery) but when restoring it (even on an fully wiped and updated system) boot sequence freezes again.
Any ideas???
Many thanks!
Solved the problem with the data-backup. Instead of restoring complete partition the APP "AppExtractor" works fine for restoring data of the partition backuped.
For now, system runs perfectly.
Conclusion:
If system hangs in Boot-Animation use Recovery for backup of up-to-date system. Full wipe system and install ROM of your choise. After that restore SMS, contacts, etc. with "AppExtractor". Apps should be installed from PlayStore as far as possible. "AppExtractor" allows restoring of app, data+app, data.
So my phone has been perfect for over a year. Within the first month of owning it I rooted, installed TWRP, and jumped on CM13. Been updating nightlies all year long once every week or so and enjoying the phone. Its really been perfect. Tonight after work I jump in my car, throw it on my car charger, and drive home. When I get home I notice for some reason I have no cell service (Emergency Call Only) so I reboot. That was the end. The reboot got stuck on the CM boot screen flashing the circle out around the CM face over and over and over. So, I pop the battery, try again, same thing.
Well, being that I have rooted and flashed for years now I figured Id wipe dalvik and cache. Tried that, same thing. Did a full wipe and reinstalled the nightly from my SD card. This time I thought I made progress as it set up all the apps. Then it just hangs on "starting apps" and then it sits there forever. Never boots. Doesnt loop or restart or anything, just says its starting apps.
So, jump on here and find the bootloop issue. My serial is 505x so I was wondering if maybe thats my issue. Decide to download the all in one flash zip from here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/stock-h811-20i-images-kdz-flashable-t3308227
and I flash that. Stock rom works without any issue. Fired it up, logged in, no problems. Huh. Do a restart and even though I flashed that file it still shows bootloader unlocked as the LG logo comes up, and boots into TWRP as normal as well. Figured well I flashed a stock rom, lets give CM13 a try again. I download a fresh nightly through my pc and transfer it over via usb so I know its good. Full wipe, flash, reboot, hangs at "starting apps" again.
Now I am lost. The stock rom sucks and my love for this phone is based around what it is with CM installed. Am I missing something here? I really want to get back to CyanogenMod and away from the clunky slow stock rom.
Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you all.
EDIT: Well went through the Android setup steps after flashing the stock rom so I would have a phone until this was all figured out. Turned out its not working. After setup I am not getting "Process System Isn't Reponding: wait or close" No matter what I do the phone is so slow or laggy I cant use it. Its trying to download my apps and restore my phone from my Google account but it just hangs up. No idea what to do at this point. Is my kernel messed up? Its a totally clean flash. What the heck. 3am, I give up, hopefully someone has insight in the morning. Thank you all.

You really have to investigate by adb. Look into the dmesg output and logcat as well. Maybe your sdcard is corrupt or 100 other issues are possible as well. What device do you own? H811? unlocked?
.
I have rooted my lg g4 h811 and am trying to flash cm 14, after flashing it through twrp, my phone stuck in bootloop. i try o put it in recovery but it only gives me factory reset option which i did several times but still stuck on bootloop. what should i do?

There are several users reporting that the latest cm version bootloop the best option is to start in download mode and Flash with LGUP Stock ROM.
You could also try to boot into Download Mode and then flash the latest twrp and then Boot into Factory Reset Mode again
i followed this guide
teamandroid.com/2016/03/08/update-tmobile-galaxy-note-2-t889-android-601-resurrection-remix-marshmallow-custom-rom/2/
and it worked perfectly until yesterday
the other day i looked at my phone and it formatted and restarted on its own. i didnt really lose much.
so i accepted it and reset up all my apps and such, and then when my phone died and i charged it
it got stuck in boot loop forever
i tried wiping both cache and reboot recovery it skips boot loop long enough to load up but as soon as i see my homescreen for a second it boot loops again.
so then i tried completely formatting the phone over which worked until this morning when i woke up my phone was dead. swapped batteries and turned it on. booom boot loop again.
is there any advice on what i should do?
im able to format it and get it working again if something needs installed etc
but i want to stop this from happening again
Q: is it possible that a certain app i downloaded is forcing the boot loop? i dont see why it would because ive had all the same apps for months and it just happened out of no where.
i appreciate any help, id just like to know why in the world its happening, and what the best course of action would be
im thinking maybe restore it back to factory firmware and unrooting and starting the process all over again
i seen something for 7.1 would that be better?
