Picked up this case at a Sprint Corporate store for 35 bucks and could not be happier.
http://www.freshfiber.com/products/galaxy-s3/
It is the Grey Macedonia case which is some sort of birds nest inspired look.
The outer part of the case kind of has a flex to it, just the right amount of give when you sit your phone down.
One thing I noticed at first which threw me off was the fact that the bottom of the case didn't have a hole for the bottom mic, but after further inspection it actually sits away from the body of the phone and kind of channels the mic next to the charging port, if that makes sense.
Nobody has ever complained about not being able to hear me since getting the case.
Solid corner protection, doesn't add weight to the phone at all (case itself weighs 16.8 grams) and has good lip protection on it for times when the phone is face down. I have a screen protector but just a cheap one I got that only covers the screen so I don't know how it may fit with some of the full screen protectors, but it does appear to have a bit of room to not affect them.
The best part?
That this case is 3D Printed and beautiful, and according to the packaging, the Grey and White cases can be put in the dishwasher for cleaning!
The one bad thing.
The back of the phone gets a little cruddy from being exposed.
When i bought my HTC One Stealth Black, i made sure that i got a perfect model (no defects). I took about an hour in the shop examining all the black HTC One's (they agreed to open 3 boxes for me) before i finally made up my mind. I paid for my phone off-contract and went home perfectly happy with a 801e model (it also has a sticker on the side of the phone that says UKR and on the box as well, so i guess it's from Ukraine and i got a 3-pin power adapter in the box together with the standard 2-pin charger plug) and also got a free TPU case with screen protector, as gift from the shop. Well, i put my phone in the TPU case as soon as i got home for fear of any drops/bumps/scratches, put it in my jeans pocket and went through the rest of my day moving around. Later that afternoon, i pulled the phone out of its case to touch the cold aluminium back and to my horror, i found a scratch (there were no scratches whatsoever before) that matched the contour of the TPU case around the camera. The scratch is around the flash.
Conclusion: The cheap unbranded TPU case seemed to fit the phone snugly but apparently not, as the constant movement and rubbing of the phone within the TPU case from inside my jeans pocket had caused the sharp edge of the TPU case to slowly erode the paint coating. It's a good thing that i noticed it after only one day usage or the etching would have definitely gone deeper, possibly even exposing the aluminium colour after a couple of days. It says "nothing but the best" on the packaging of the unbranded case, which is ironic.
So, my advice (and the reason for my endless rant in this post): stay away from cheap TPU cases, even if it says TPU, which might be true about the material itself but the fact of the matter - without a tight fit of the phone inside the casing, the resulting inside friction between the phone and its casing will damage your phone, causing the paint to wear off. This is probably not applicable to those of you who chose/use the Glacial Silver HTC One, since any scratch will probably not show up. But with time, the constant friction might cause the scratch to become visible. I've attached pictures so you can understand why i'm *****ing about my One By the way, i apologize for my dirty camera lens.
Lesson learnt - i've already ordered 3 casings (the best i could find after hours of searching, for cases that offer a balance between compactness v/s protection); Cimo Grip Back Case Flexible TPU Black, Otterbox Commuter Black and UAG Aero. I wouldn't bother with any other cases, unless you want even more protection, then you should be satisfied with the Otterbox Defender case.
My friend .. ANY case you put on the phone has the potential to scratch the aluminum on the edges. It is simple physics: if you get some dust/sand in between the case and the aluminum (where in other locations can the dust/sand/lint settle ?) any slight pressure or movement of the case will cause a small surface defect. You can not hide from that and you can not prevent that.
Live with it ! It is called reality.

I had the black for a while. I think that it is prone to anything. Apart from light scratches sustained by using the double dip case, the camera cut out of an incipio case left a watermark on it as well. Now using a silver one and not a single scratch. Rotating between three cases.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't anodized AL WAY harder than TPU?
If it is, then isn't it PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for the case itself to scratch the phone?
Either a) there was dust/dirt in the case or
b) it's not a scratch, try wiping it with mild soap, water and a soft cloth.
Interesting thread...you were writing this 3 years ago, I just picked up two pristine condition used m7s, both with nearly all day batteries. Yesterday I got two cases of the first type described below.
I just love these phones so much. They are such a huge upgrade from any phone I have had since I had a droid 2 from motorola before knowing anything at all about these nifty little computers.
I just came in here to say that I will be getting the hard glass protection from now on for every phone I get. Would also recommend to anyone as it is far superior to foils.
Also three good types of cases:
- the hardened shell with no button coverage, and brushed metal exterior
- the clear plastic back, black bumpered semi hard with plugs and accurately designed button enhancers (distinguished by black surface lines on the back coming in from upper and lower edges about a cm each, towards the antennas)
-and believe it or not I really liked the ordinary rubber sort of cases with wavy line down the back and dual texture... as long as they have button covers. But those wouldnt be good for people who have a hard time with the buttons already.
Just picking up these phones starting in June 2016...has made my android experience so much more enjoyable...now being able to play top 3d heavy performance requiring games...and so much different development for the phones.
here's a couple pics of my phone cases I was describing. no scratches whatsoever on the two used like new phones, although its a used case on goldy. the other phones are for family and such, but also loving the cases on them. red looks good in red but it obscures the back... so take clear

I picked up a white one of these:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/For-LG-G.../221311296509?ssPageName=ADME:L:eek:C:AU:3160
It has a matte translucent finish, and the case is hard, not TPU. I prefer translucent to clear as it doesn't show all the dust and crap that inevitably builds between the phone and the case. It fits perfectly and the buttons are easily accessible. I like that you can still see the rear logo and the case isn't physically obtrusive at all. The gap between screen and front bezel is just over 1mm. Worth the buy, especially for $5. I dropped it 20 minutes ago on a tile floor from about 1m up, no physical change. Can't tell if it landed on a front or back corner as there are no marks. Paid for itself 100 times over.

I have had one of these for a bit over a week and it's cracking all over the place where I tend to hold my phone. Not from drops, just the stress of holding the phone. :-/

I ordered a quicksand case from the same seller so it's good to know you got your case. How long did the shipping take I wonder?

Mine's flexible enough not to crack, even if I try to flex it, even at the corners. It fits nicely and isn't stretching to hold the phone at all. You might have a different model?

belt clip case for N5
I have also ordered one Amzer belt clip case for my N5 from a reseller site Fommy...just waitng for it to be delivered..and will surely put up the pics and reviews of the case....as I have also used the cases earlier also of this brand and they were quite sturdy and sustainable one...so considering the past experience I ordered one for my N5 too....so hoping that it wont let me go down.....
I have a similar case only in solid white. Not even a week of use and it is showing signs of coloration..

Hey did you use the screen protector that came along with it?
Thanks for the detailed pictures. I ordered the white one, too, based on the excellent details you provided here.
Cheers
Thanks for the review. There are also some very similar cases made by Bear Motion on Amazon, might even be same case? idk here for matte smooth and here for sand
Are there any case haterz on this forum, who run their phones without any kind of cases / back stickers etc ?
Could you post some photos, facts, knowledge how well the phone stands everyday usage ?
I have been using case since day one, but i just can't stand it anymore. Did I buy alluminium phone to put it in rubber case or stick plastic sheet of foil on it to lose the feeling of alluminium ? No !
I drop my phone very rarely, actually i have never droppped it (knock knock), only time it hit ground it was clumsy bird's (jokin clumsy friend's hands) fault. My only concern is lens protector. On one side its nicely hidden in the rim, but at the other lens cover is protruding just a very litle bit. I am attaching picture to illustrate it a bit. It is side look.
There's a "hole" in the phone body, so the lens should be all hidden / drown and there should be 1 milimeter gap, when i place phone on table. On one side there is, on other lens is in line with body.
Grey - phone
White - gap for lens cover
Black - lens cover
Mods, please do not delete this topic - this has already happened in past (moved to accesories thread), but it get lost very easily, i try to debate with users without accesories.
Thanks
i did for apprx 4 months when i first bought the device, now i'm using crystal clear case to not to hide devices body.
i bought a case after i saw scratches on camera lens, luckly camera lens got replaced after service for red tint.
also shiny exposed alumium around the device got scratched and deformed a bit.
I also am not a fan of big bulky cases. One of the main reasons I bought this phone is because it is so damn beautiful (compared to most other phones). I've always joked about how iPhone fans typically rave about how "sleek" and "thin" their phones are, yet they walk around with them wearing the equivalent of a down-filled parka that is anything but "sleek".
I did compromise a bit, just because I want to keep my phone looking nice. I found the Cimo clear case. It is very thin, and very clear. It has just enough of a "lip" around the edge so that the screen of the phone won't contact the ground when it is lying down (or dropped on its face). The soft rubbery cushioning should also protect against dings on the corners and back, as well as prevent scratches. All without sacrificing the beauty of the phone. I paid $10 on Amazon for it.
NEH,
I did not buy a unibody aluminium finish phone to hide it behind chinese plastic covers. Thats not my style. I have pretty much the same type of use like yours. The only thing that has happened with me is that the beats audio red sticker at the behind bottom plate is now fading off. Nothing else. Just keep keys/card holder and coins in other pocket. I dont think you need a plastic cover.
When I had my One I used the HTC hard shell - minimal design but clear so you could still see the phone. Best case I had IMO

Whether you can still get it is another question
I've been using this case works well still shows the phones great looks and protect it all around.
HTC One
Guys, thanks for all the replies.
But this thread is strictly about naked devices - no cases at all !
well ii put a case on it.... next time its still usable years down the road
Mine has had nothing on it except a transparent skin on the back since i bought it last May. Still looks great...
Yeah I've been running mines nekkid since I got it last April, just couldn't bring myself to spend money to cover such a good looking device. Other than some wear marks around the shiny beveled edge, there's no obvious signs of age.
I'm not rough on it, but I don't baby it either. I have dropped it a few times(on purpose, just to show people how durable it is), and run my knife across the screen and back, but no damage.

And what about lens cover ? Is yout lens completely hidden, or do you have it like me ? Hidden on one side, flush with body on the other.
Do you use any kind of pouch or something ?
never ever use a case defeats point of having such a wonderful design, have a leather pouch when not in us and just treat it like a baby when in use 6 months on still pristine not a mark

My lens cover is slightly recessed, so no, not like you, but haven't had any damage to it. No pouch or anything, just keep it in my pocket with my change.

No case.
I am careful when I lay it down on certain surfaces.
And I try *very* hard never to let it slip out of my hands and fall.
No damage due to general wear. I dented the back slightly and roughed up one corner slightly.
Totally worth it. Love the feel and thinness of the phone.

this is how i use mine. transparent cover over the back which i only put on because the aluminum is actually very slippery for me and the clear skin provides better grip so i dont drop it. clear cover over the screen and im good to go. few small areas around the front bevel where the blue has worn away but other than that its prefect. i never use a case, defeats the purpose of having a thin phone.
I Have been using it without cover, but in December it has fallen on the road so i ordered some cheap one from the e-bay.
So now, i am using it with cover, but i lost that great metal feeling of the phone.
Here is an example with and without cover

I don't use a case at all makes it easier to use the volume and power button

I use no covers, just matte screen protector (I like the way my display looks with it). Bought it in June 2013. It fell on the floor several times, it got only one scratch on the top (on the lright corner), but it still looks amazing! As it's always in my pocket, lately the "beats audio" logo on the back is going away slowly... but i use nothing to protect it

+1. Dont know how long I would keep the phone. But while I have it might as well enjoy the quality feel of it.
My HTC One is about two weeks old. I love it so much, I can't bring myself to cover this baby up.
Also, I am paying for a warranty, so if anything happens to it I'll get a new one, or maybe the M8 if they run out =D
So, I purchased the Nillkin PU Leather Flip Case (see link below) about 15 to 20 days ago.
Code:
amazon.com/gp/product/B01MDPC5J0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Been using it since. I work at a desk all day and my phone sits in a stand 6 to 8 hours while I'm at my desk. The rest of the time it is in my pocket or my hands or magnetically attached to my windshield mount - and on my night stand whilst I sleep. There have been no drops of my phone. Nor other types of conceivable blunt trauma to the corners.
It is a sleek design and the leather (or faux leather) is nice enough. I'm still getting used to having the flap over the front. Gets annoying playing games or reading having to contend with the flap. And the flap gets in the way of using the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone. All in all a great cover for $11 except that it has a fatal flaw. At least the case I received has a fatal flaw.
See picture link text below (sorry - new poster - long time lurker):
Piece of brittle plastic chipped off yesterday as I was shifting the phone in my hand just having pulled it out of my pocket. The force of my pinky finger pivoting the v20 in the palm of my hand, routinely pressing the corner (pictured at the link location,) the piece just flaked off onto my bare foot."
Code:
goo.gl/photos/H2wKDc8PxQBgjiZt9
Then there is this on the other corner. A hairline crack. See picture link below.
Tension fracture after less than 2 weeks of use. No drops or blunt trauma. Just standard pocket wear.
Code:
goo.gl/photos/g6DUk24YfaG8UMEdA
I've seen this happen to similarly designed cases with or without the flap, but it doesn't usually happen as quickly, I've gone 2 yrs with one before I had to replace it. Have I just had bad luck or is it a design flaw or materials grade problem? I'd like to know other's thoughts/experiences.
Thanks for the review, was looking to purchase but a lot of people have reported that problem plastic bumper breaking over short use so I think I'd pass on it. Sad because conceptually it is one of the nicer cases for the V20.
