I picked up a white one of these:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/For-LG-G.../221311296509?ssPageName=ADME:L:eek:C:AU:3160
It has a matte translucent finish, and the case is hard, not TPU. I prefer translucent to clear as it doesn't show all the dust and crap that inevitably builds between the phone and the case. It fits perfectly and the buttons are easily accessible. I like that you can still see the rear logo and the case isn't physically obtrusive at all. The gap between screen and front bezel is just over 1mm. Worth the buy, especially for $5. I dropped it 20 minutes ago on a tile floor from about 1m up, no physical change. Can't tell if it landed on a front or back corner as there are no marks. Paid for itself 100 times over.

I have had one of these for a bit over a week and it's cracking all over the place where I tend to hold my phone. Not from drops, just the stress of holding the phone. :-/

I ordered a quicksand case from the same seller so it's good to know you got your case. How long did the shipping take I wonder?

Mine's flexible enough not to crack, even if I try to flex it, even at the corners. It fits nicely and isn't stretching to hold the phone at all. You might have a different model?

belt clip case for N5
I have also ordered one Amzer belt clip case for my N5 from a reseller site Fommy...just waitng for it to be delivered..and will surely put up the pics and reviews of the case....as I have also used the cases earlier also of this brand and they were quite sturdy and sustainable one...so considering the past experience I ordered one for my N5 too....so hoping that it wont let me go down.....
I have a similar case only in solid white. Not even a week of use and it is showing signs of coloration..

Hey did you use the screen protector that came along with it?
Thanks for the detailed pictures. I ordered the white one, too, based on the excellent details you provided here.
Cheers
Thanks for the review. There are also some very similar cases made by Bear Motion on Amazon, might even be same case? idk here for matte smooth and here for sand

Hey guys, I was able to snap a quick picture of the case that a store I went to was selling. Seems to be different than what I've heard from others, but this what I was able to get a hold of. Sorry for the quality, it was taking on my dying Moto Q9h.
was thata hard case? How much for it?
There were two at the store I went to, they had a Carbon looking gel case for $24.95 (Looks like the one pictured above) and another, I think it was plastic, clear case for $29.95 Almost bought the gel but I want to wait for Seidio to come out with theirs.

That one was $29.95, and it definitely looked plastic from what I could tell, so that lines up with that second one you were saying.
I don't see it on their website:

Looks nice, unfortunately it doesn't ship till 8/24. I HOPE Seidio releases theres before that. I'm willing to wait so long for one. I'm not liking carrying it around "naked".
Looks nice from the pictures. And better yet, IT HIDES THE AT&T LOGO

Did the same thing. My friend got the T-Mobile version phone and the screen protectors they have make the screen look grainy.
I will wait for bestskinsever or some other company to make them, until then I must be very careful with it.
I got the rubber gel case - looks nice, is very thin, doesn't add much bulk at all, and feels good in the hand. If you want to listen to music with the device's speaker, you can put it face-down so the speaker isn't muffled, and the case keeps the screen from touching the tabletop surface. I'd recommend it!
guys i hope you didnt throw away that screenprotector that came pre-applied to the phone. You know, the really annoying one that reads: Texting n Driving, it can wait...
So thats a pretty good cover right? Looks like it doesn't degrade image quality at all.. Got me to thinking, man this would be ideal if it didn't have these huge dumb letters over the whole screen.
So I bust out some acetone (nail polish remover) and a q tip. I soaked the head of the q tip and rubbed it over the letters on the screen protector. Re applied acetone to the q tip a few times in the process. I let the acetone sit on the letters for about 30 seconds and then wiped it off with a cotton wipe. Be careful when rubbing it off so that it doesn't runoff the screen protector onto the edge of the screen. ie: dont wipe, soak it up. I waited about 10 min after drying it off with that cotton ball and then used my nail to scratch off the letters. I had to re apply acetone once more on tough spots but now i have a free good looking screen protector to hold me over .
I bought the Body Glove case. As someone else stated it doesn't add much bulk at all and fits pretty snug against the phone. I actually dropped my phone this morning while rushing to work. It fell to the concrete, hit the corners, and then landed on the face. Luckily the case is a tad bit raised from the screen not allowing the screen to impact. No damage to the phone and the case has one tiny scratch.

zagg
wont let me post link but
this is great for face protection
is there any type of screen protector material for the chrome on the camera? I hear it gets scratched very easily
Maybe Zagg will make one. Most reviewers see how it scratches so easy.
AT&T will sell the Zagg full body at least. I'm going to try to cut out a custom fit from reg screen protector.
That's a pretty small piece to protect. Knowing Zagg, it'll be $10 + shipping for just that piece.
Alternatively, you can get a silicon skin for the whole phone which I heard fits pretty snug and doesn't add a lot of bulk.
I just bought the gel case and it keeps the back of the phone off the objects you lay it on

People just cut out a piece of clear packaging tape and put it over then chrome! I did just that

I used Incipio case and so far the chrome hasn't been scratched even though it's not completely covered.
food wrap film will do it
I bought the skinomi carbon fiber full body screen protector. It protects every part of the phone including the chrome. Got if from amazon. Might be something to consider.

Awesome idea.... Gonna go and do that now. Thanks man!
The store employees repeatedly offered me a "cleaning pad" that stuck to the back side of the phone. They put it on the camera metal. They would come take it off to wipe the screen and then just replace it on the back over the camera metal again.
I just got the Skinomi carbon fiber full body screen protector, and slapped it on. It looks good, but the quality of the clear screen protector is pretty bad. Not as noticeable when the phone is on, but could be much better. The warranty is lifetime, so I might get another. The carbon look parts look really good, and should protect against normal use.
. Ps, the clear screen protector hadn't dried yet. Now it looks fine. The carbon look is pretty cool..
The guys on this thread who have the Skinomi full body protectors, can you post some photos of it applied to the phone?
I'm in the UK and have a white 900,so I want to see which bits of the phone don't get covered by the skin as the bright white would be very noticable if there are fitment gaps.
I'm actually on my 2nd handset in a week as the buttons on the first one were loose and rattly. However, on that first handset the camera chrome got scuffed in just 2 days even though I kept the phone wrapped in a screen cleaning cloth. I've left the OEM protective film on my new one until I have something permanent, just like the OP has asked for.
As selection of colours for a chrome protector would be cool too. Hopefully someone will come up with this on eBay before long In the meantime I'll cut up a 'generic' screen protector into a make-shift skin for the chrome.
IGG full body protector also covers the chrome on the camera. The only cutout on the back cover is for the camera lens hole and the LED flash hole.
I'm using mine under the black cover so the shiny look isn't a bother for me. Just looking to protect the back from being scratched by the case (or debris that gets between the OEM case and the phone body) which I've seen happen on an N9.
I'm going to make one from a spare screen protector I have. I've just checked an the camera hole is the same size as you get from a hole-punch....so I've got a screen protecter here with me in the office today
Here's my temporary solution, a Nokia cover, a strip of electrical tape and a hole punch.
I'll try to get a decent one cut out so that I don't need to cover it up with the bumper. I may also see if a printing company I've worked with in the past would be able to knock up a few sheets of clear, single-coloured and maybe patterns or designs. Chances are it'll be too expensive, but it can't hurt to ask the question.
Bleh. The chrome on my camera is all scratched up. I hate how it's curved.
When i bought my HTC One Stealth Black, i made sure that i got a perfect model (no defects). I took about an hour in the shop examining all the black HTC One's (they agreed to open 3 boxes for me) before i finally made up my mind. I paid for my phone off-contract and went home perfectly happy with a 801e model (it also has a sticker on the side of the phone that says UKR and on the box as well, so i guess it's from Ukraine and i got a 3-pin power adapter in the box together with the standard 2-pin charger plug) and also got a free TPU case with screen protector, as gift from the shop. Well, i put my phone in the TPU case as soon as i got home for fear of any drops/bumps/scratches, put it in my jeans pocket and went through the rest of my day moving around. Later that afternoon, i pulled the phone out of its case to touch the cold aluminium back and to my horror, i found a scratch (there were no scratches whatsoever before) that matched the contour of the TPU case around the camera. The scratch is around the flash.
Conclusion: The cheap unbranded TPU case seemed to fit the phone snugly but apparently not, as the constant movement and rubbing of the phone within the TPU case from inside my jeans pocket had caused the sharp edge of the TPU case to slowly erode the paint coating. It's a good thing that i noticed it after only one day usage or the etching would have definitely gone deeper, possibly even exposing the aluminium colour after a couple of days. It says "nothing but the best" on the packaging of the unbranded case, which is ironic.
So, my advice (and the reason for my endless rant in this post): stay away from cheap TPU cases, even if it says TPU, which might be true about the material itself but the fact of the matter - without a tight fit of the phone inside the casing, the resulting inside friction between the phone and its casing will damage your phone, causing the paint to wear off. This is probably not applicable to those of you who chose/use the Glacial Silver HTC One, since any scratch will probably not show up. But with time, the constant friction might cause the scratch to become visible. I've attached pictures so you can understand why i'm *****ing about my One By the way, i apologize for my dirty camera lens.
Lesson learnt - i've already ordered 3 casings (the best i could find after hours of searching, for cases that offer a balance between compactness v/s protection); Cimo Grip Back Case Flexible TPU Black, Otterbox Commuter Black and UAG Aero. I wouldn't bother with any other cases, unless you want even more protection, then you should be satisfied with the Otterbox Defender case.
My friend .. ANY case you put on the phone has the potential to scratch the aluminum on the edges. It is simple physics: if you get some dust/sand in between the case and the aluminum (where in other locations can the dust/sand/lint settle ?) any slight pressure or movement of the case will cause a small surface defect. You can not hide from that and you can not prevent that.
Live with it ! It is called reality.

I had the black for a while. I think that it is prone to anything. Apart from light scratches sustained by using the double dip case, the camera cut out of an incipio case left a watermark on it as well. Now using a silver one and not a single scratch. Rotating between three cases.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't anodized AL WAY harder than TPU?
If it is, then isn't it PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for the case itself to scratch the phone?
Either a) there was dust/dirt in the case or
b) it's not a scratch, try wiping it with mild soap, water and a soft cloth.
Interesting thread...you were writing this 3 years ago, I just picked up two pristine condition used m7s, both with nearly all day batteries. Yesterday I got two cases of the first type described below.
I just love these phones so much. They are such a huge upgrade from any phone I have had since I had a droid 2 from motorola before knowing anything at all about these nifty little computers.
I just came in here to say that I will be getting the hard glass protection from now on for every phone I get. Would also recommend to anyone as it is far superior to foils.
Also three good types of cases:
- the hardened shell with no button coverage, and brushed metal exterior
- the clear plastic back, black bumpered semi hard with plugs and accurately designed button enhancers (distinguished by black surface lines on the back coming in from upper and lower edges about a cm each, towards the antennas)
-and believe it or not I really liked the ordinary rubber sort of cases with wavy line down the back and dual texture... as long as they have button covers. But those wouldnt be good for people who have a hard time with the buttons already.
Just picking up these phones starting in June 2016...has made my android experience so much more enjoyable...now being able to play top 3d heavy performance requiring games...and so much different development for the phones.
here's a couple pics of my phone cases I was describing. no scratches whatsoever on the two used like new phones, although its a used case on goldy. the other phones are for family and such, but also loving the cases on them. red looks good in red but it obscures the back... so take clear

Hey all. Ordered my Moto X :victory: but the ebony back is backordered until at least 2/11 So, at least I have time to figure out what accessories I want. Right now, I'm looking for an "unobtrusive" case/bumper.
With a really nice back, and custom accents, I don't want to cover either of them up. I was initially looking at bumpers so I can keep the back open (to show off the ebony) and the dimple exposed (because everyone seems to be obsessed with it). While there are plenty of those, they all seem to come with button covers. Why cover the buttons on a phone where the buttons have been customized?
Next, I figured I would look at some cases with clear backs. The only one I could find that was clear, and that left the dimple exposed, was the incase snap case (available on Motorola's site for too much damned money). On top of that, I know people with the case that don't like it (because it's too tight), or have read reviews indicating that the tightness ended up cracking the screen (an outlier, I'm sure).
I'd prefer to find a bumper with the buttons exposed. Failing that, I would like to find a case with a clear back, cutout for the dimple, and isn't ridiculously bulky and/or expensive. Any help would be appreciate, thanks.
I decided to go with a bumper for my Moto X and got this one: http://amzn.com/B00F2YEIXO
The downside to any bumper would be that it will cover the buttons, but the accent color around the camera will still be visible and the dimple will still be there.
This is the SUPCASE: http://amzn.com/B00E8GQHM2 It's similar to bumper but has a clear back and keeps the dimple
A few other cases I found:

Thanks. Yeah, I noticed that every single bumper has the buttons covered. I don't get that. I mean, they have cutouts for headphones, USB, SD card, etc. Why can't they leave a cutout for buttons? Doesn't make sense.
I was in your shoes back when I first got my moto x. I rejected the in case snap case for the same reason.
I ended up just using mine naked with a pouch. Still in perfect condition two months later. You will find that you can't beat the feel of a naked moto x. I am super protective and will put on a bumper if the situation calls for it though. So maybe going naked (at least situationally) is something you may want to consider although I know I never would have initially since I'm the protective type and it would kill me to see a scratch or crack on my phone.
I had a TPU case on mine for the longest time that had the buttons covered. I hated it because I couldn't always tell where the buttons were on the side.
I just received this new bumper case and so far I love it. EDIT: I just saw that someone already linked to it.
It does cover the buttons, but the way it is made, they are raised on the case and have a great feel when clicked. It does not cover the back at all. Also note that I have a zagg style protector on the back of the phone so I'm not worried about scratches on the back.
I have both the SupCase and this bumper (appears the same as the Amazon one and the other eBay one linked above) and I really like the cheapo bumper better than the SupCase. The button covers on the bumper actually have a better tactile feedback than the naked phone itself.
Can I ask why you don't want the buttons covered? Most of my cases on my Nexus 5 has the buttons exposed and I wasn't a fan of that (nor was I a fan of the cases with bad covers for the buttons - those suck too). IMHO, the cheap bumper I have has somehow managed to have a good implementation for the button covers! I'm not a huge fan of the SupCase's covers for the buttons.
Side note: The dimple on the wood backs aren't nearly as nice as the dimples on the plastic backs. It's much more subtle instead of being an obvious place to hold/balance/control your phone from. While it's there, it's not something to rave about. The dimple on the plastic backs, on the other hand, are nice. I'm a bit jealous, honestly. (I have an Ebony/black/black)

I like that the wood backed Moto X's have shallower/smoother dimple. I've held a "regular" black Moto X with the carbon back and I didn't like how the edges around the dimple felt. With the bamboo back I have, it's all smooth and my index fingers rests very nicely there.

Very fair opinion! I guess my point wasn't (or shouldn't have been) so much that it's worse but moreso that it is definitely sublte yet quite different.

Well, I gave it my best try to go naked, but just couldn't do it. I saw a video of a guy taking a knife to the Moto X screen and not leaving any marks, so I decided to forgo my usual policy of slapping a Zagg InvisibleShield on everything. But, I forgot how "smudgy" these screens get without a protector. So, I just ordered a Ghost Glass tempered screen protector http://mimeusa.com/product/moto-x-ghost-glass-screen-protector/ I never tried tempered glass before (didn't even know it existed), but it sounds interesting.
The ebony wood back is also getting all fingerprinted-up, which was making me twitch. I found some good feedback in various posts on the Power Suppor Air Jacket Clear (not the Grip) http://www.powersupportintl.com/Air-Jacket-Clear-for-Moto-X-p/mmtx-71.htm It's supposed to be much better than the Incase Snap Case.

While it's there, it's not something to rave about. The dimple on the plastic backs, on the other hand, are nice. I'm a bit jealous, honestly. (I have an Ebony/black/black)

I just wanted to keep my customized buttons exposed. I mean, why pay all this money for a customized phone and cover it up?
I bought the first one posted with the weird tab on it. although the buttons are covered, they are highly functional. I do agree that if you customized the accents / buttons you want to show them off, should be easy to cut the button covers out with an xacto knife (done this before on several TPU cases)
good luck!

Do NOT cut the button covers, I've tried that and found that can NOT reach the buttons with my finger. The bumper is too thick. Lucky I bought 2 bumpers so I have another one to use.

you can cut the buttons out, but you have to cut them to match the curve of your finger, meaning that they would need to look like this
) for the left side and ( for the right side.
I just need something like this, but not with half assed cutting.
Hi
I bought a oneplus one about 3 months ago and I absolutely love it however I dropped it a while ago and everything is fine but the frame area to the left of the charging port is completely jacked up :/ chunks of it are missing too...
I'm currently using the oneplus flip cover however it doesn't cover it up, so my question is: is there any light tpu/hard shell case that covers up the entire silver bezel, or at least the bottom of the phone so I don't have to look at this anymore xD. All cases I've seen so far leave a bit of the bottom frame exposed just enough so you can see the damage :'(
Anyone know any case that can cover it up?
Thanks!
I advise you to look for the "Diztronic" TPU case, covers completely the silver frame, following the contour of the screen. There's just a 1 cm spot where the frame is visible, at the bottom of the cover, near the hole for the USB cable, but in normal use is not visible. It's 6 months that I'm using this cover in combination with a tempered glass and I'm really satisfied.
Guess it all depends on what kind of protection you want. If you just want mild protection and to just cover the sides, then go with the tpu case. If you want heavy protection, I would suggest the Tudia Omnix Hybrid, http://www.amazon.com/TUDIA-Full-body-Protective-Protector-Resistant/dp/B00SO4XYHA . I have the Tudia case and it has taken a beating and protected the phone very well, even from some pretty high falls. Only con about the Tudia case, is that the front covers the sides of the screen a bit and prevents touch at the the very edges of screen. This can be a bit bothersome if using apps in full screen/landscape when you have to swipe down to exit full screen.

I totally agree, couldn't have said it better. Here are some visuals for you. I got the Diztronic case when I bought the phone, it has protected it from falling out a car, off the desk, and off a moderately high shelf. You can get a tempered glass screen protector off eBay, have to search a bit (TechArmor don't have one). I got one from user dreamlight2004 for around 5 dollars. I made the mistake of getting the OPO screen protector when i first got my phone and it went bad a month ago, a hard scratch from a key. Tempered glass protector looks so much better. Just loaded COS13, it should keep me busy until the OP3 gets announced - so far it's looking to be a really good phone (boo on the OP2 and OPX)

I agree, Diztronic bumpers are terrific.
I'm using this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rearth-Case-OnePlus-One-Folie-Ringke-Fusion-Schutzhulle-Cover-Tasche-klar-/121715293296?hash=item1c56cbfc70:g:gAUAAOSwT6pVt5tV And it is awesome. You can also print your designs for this case!
Ringke Fusion for me is great. It covers the OPO completly.
DO NOT BUY THE TUDIA CASE.
I bought it because I thought it looked pretty sweet. It's the worst case I have ever owned, and I have owned a few. Half the case is slippery nonsense plastic. You grab your phone "wrong" (by this I do not mean insecurely, but simply you happen to not have your fingers on enough of the case's rubber outline), it's like holding an eel.
The clips covering the audio jack and usb port are an absolute NIGHTMARE to open, and plugging in your charger for the night would realistically take three hands with 17 fingers each to manage in a reasonable timeframe. Good thing my audio jack's clip, after having been used exactly twice without even the slightest bit of the abuse it deserved, now no longer clips into it's crevice, and is permanently hanging out at a 30 degree angle. The pop-out clip on the back is nail ruining torture to get out, as is the rubber outline holding the front of the case, should you want to get this garbage off to see how far you can launch it through the air in rage.
I wouldn't use this piece of junk if they paid me.
I am using the TUDIA Dual-Layer case+a glass screen protector, which turned my One to a tank
I drop it way too often, but it still works flawlessly, so I can recommend this case. It also coverers the aluminum frame
I can rep the Poetic Case found here:
I took out the screen protector but I have been rocking the case for more than a year. It is kinda bulky but I have no worries about dropping it or tossing my phone on my desk. Also, It is kinda water resistant (with the screen protector). I have dropped like a glass of water on it and quickly cleaned it up with no harm
