My xperia play can boot and does turn on but only if it is charging e.g. usb - pc or a wall charger...
But the moment it is removed from charging it reboots into a bootloop... But only if it is removed, and when charging and the phone has booted up I cannot touch the screen to get a response at all I have to use the game pad buttons to navigate I have a locked bootloader I am not rooted and it is running the latest stock firmware, model:r800i
Have you tried putting in another battery? If the problem is the battery you can buy a new one...

i dont own another battery but i dont think that it will solve it because the touch screen wont work either
Perhaps you can try to restore it using SEUS or PC Companion.

Just to confirm, are you using an original Sony Ericsson USB cable?
Common problem.
No fix other than to unplug when you use the touchscreen.

What is the color of the LED when you plug it in? Also, if it is an R800i (GSM) version, you could try unlocking the bootloader and reflashing the device with Flashtool. Check out the development forums for tutorials on both bootloader unlocking as well as flashing.

gsm version, how can i flash it when it wont come on or boot and the computer not recognizing the usb device connected. the led flashes red
If it only blinks, it seems that the battery was too low.
plug in your charger, after 1 hours charging try it again.
I remember reading a thread about blinking red light. Not sure what it was now though.

you will need to have it repaired then. seems like a hardware problem if u ask me.
just letting u all know i fixed it was the battery. it was totally dry. used a universal battery charger which if very cheap and brought it back to life, now i think i wants to flash ass any sim card i put in it i get no signal its unlocked too
My Xperia Ion has unlocked bootloader and installed this kernel.
I have used the Font Installer and installed an incompatible font and the phone restarted after it and went into bootloop (only sony and xperia logos were showing and the phone was restarting all the time...)
The first thing I did was soft reset (up+power for 5 seconds) but nothing changed so i did hard reset and the phone got bricked after with no led and vibrations, unable to connect to pc...
I put it into wall charger over night but nothing changed only there is the red led flashing when connected to the charger/PC ( 5 seconds red led, then 20 seconds no led and again and again)
I have tried Flashtool, PPC, fastboot and all the button combinations while connected to PC but nothing works, the phone is completely dead...
Does anybody know how to fix this issue?
Can you dissemble it? If it is decemble it and disconnect battery cable from motherboard and re connect it. After that try to connect to flashtool and flash stock firmware.

My Xperia ZL died.
I put it to charge all night, so far so good. Woke up in the morning (with it on) and turned off the alarm.
Soon after I removed it from the wall outlet and put to reboot the machine in safe mode to save battery. Then he called back.
Sorry my english google translator, but what do I do?
The ZL is under warranty, why not take it to a Sony center?

That is why I don't deal with rooting the phone. My ZL is stock, and only install apps that is from trusted sources. Even if it's safe rooting, is not my thing.

kkkkk You say that because you do not live in Brazil.
Only the icons of LIGHT (my carrier) I removed 16 icons and 3 left that I use.
Can you be more specific...
What happens when you try to turn it on?
Have you tried the "reset" button next to the SIM card?
If you plug it into a computer, is it even detected?
Have you tried repairing with PC Companion or even flashing it with Flashtool?
Do you see the Sony logo at the beginning and then it stays dark?

Not, never, nothing
Have you tried Flashtools ? Maybe works !
I took him in last night authorized assistance.
I will pay it but I preferred to lose the warranty.
I've no time yesterday but today gives to explain, as I said, I put it to restart in safe mode and it did not.
Do not connect any more, so I tried recovery, security, tried all that is possible and even the LED responds more.
I think the only solution (even if there assistance) will be the same FLASHTOOLs.
Thanks to all
