My Xperia ZL died.
I put it to charge all night, so far so good. Woke up in the morning (with it on) and turned off the alarm.
Soon after I removed it from the wall outlet and put to reboot the machine in safe mode to save battery. Then he called back.
Sorry my english google translator, but what do I do?
The ZL is under warranty, why not take it to a Sony center?

I will take it only as a last resort, my phone is rooted.
Guess I'll have to reinstall the rom it, the question is: how? since he does not care ...

That is why I don't deal with rooting the phone. My ZL is stock, and only install apps that is from trusted sources. Even if it's safe rooting, is not my thing.

kkkkk You say that because you do not live in Brazil.
Only the icons of LIGHT (my carrier) I removed 16 icons and 3 left that I use.
Can you be more specific...
What happens when you try to turn it on?
Have you tried the "reset" button next to the SIM card?
If you plug it into a computer, is it even detected?
Have you tried repairing with PC Companion or even flashing it with Flashtool?
Do you see the Sony logo at the beginning and then it stays dark?

Not, never, nothing
Have you tried Flashtools ? Maybe works !
I took him in last night authorized assistance.
I will pay it but I preferred to lose the warranty.
I've no time yesterday but today gives to explain, as I said, I put it to restart in safe mode and it did not.
Do not connect any more, so I tried recovery, security, tried all that is possible and even the LED responds more.
I think the only solution (even if there assistance) will be the same FLASHTOOLs.
Thanks to all

I just got my Play this afternoon and when I turned it on the Sony Ericsson logo flashed upside down for a second and then showed normally. Is that something that happens or is there something wrong with my phone? I dont notice any problems with it, its just kinda worrisome.
Also, I love the phone, so as long as it isnt affecting anything else I probably wont send it in. Im just curious if this is normal or has happened to anyone else. Like I said, everything is stock and it did this right out of the box from ATT. And it is not a refurb unit, its brand new.
Thanks for any replies.
This is probably due to corrupted boot animation. However, u can fix that if your phone is rooted by replacing the bootanimation.zip
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
OR by reflashing which wont void your warranty if done through Sony Ericsson Pc Suite (go to update and then click repair when the option repairs to do so) or you can use Sony Ericsson Update Service
Awesome, thanks for the replies guys. I'll probably get into flashing roms and rooting after a while, I want to screenshot and I need root for that so it wont be long.
You dont need root for screenshots, Sony implemented this in. Version 2.3.4 , hold the power button to do this

I was thinking maybe they did since my LG Thrill had the feature, I tried home and lock and home and back and just figured it wasnt in the build. Thanks for the info, Im learning all over the place today!
So yesterday i tried to flash a new kernel (nova kernel) using cwm and after attempting to reboot, all i felt was a vibration and then nothing happened. Is my xperia s bricked? and if so is there anything i can do?
What works:
1. Able to hold power button and feel the single vibration; however, the screen remains blank after that.
2. Able to soft reset and hard reset but it does nothing
3. Able to connect to pc in flash/fastboot mode
4. Able to flash kernels and firmware (flashed full stock .55 and wiped everything, still no progress)
What doesn't work:
1. Screen will not turn on no matter what i do
2. Phone will not charge (no led, no screen)
3. CANNOT ENTER CWM!
Any help is appreciated.
Sounds almost like you're battery is dead toss it on the charger in a situation like this it can take up to 5 hours for the phone to boot.

that could be it...but i doubt it because when i flashed the kernel it was about 98% battery and i haven't been able to turn on the phone since. that plus i've left the phone charging for 8 hours last night, which ended again with no led and no screen...
i'll keep it plugged in though and see if anything happens

After you try to boot do you get any screen response? Like backlight or a quick blink. After turning on with no screen, does the pc recognize as usb drive or mtp device? I was just thinking maybe screen failure.

when i try to boot, i only get the one vibration that signals the phone has turned on (or in my case attempted to turn on). i can keep pressing and holding the power button multiple times consecutively and still get the same result. it's like the phone turns on and then shuts down immediately.
i only get led notifications when i connect to the computer in fastboot or flash mode, other than that i get nothing.

looked at that thread, nothing works. closest i came to something was plugging the phone into the wall for a while until the red led came on, but then it just turns off after 2-3 hours and i'm back to square one
Some have had to leave it plugged into charger for days. Then got green led, flashed and it started.
This is just one way these phones act goofy during soft brick. You just have to be patient, as all who have recovered have said.

Well great news phone is back and running great
I had it plugged in for about 18 hours then the Red light came on.
24+ hours later the Red light was off. So I tried to flash, nothing. It was just a wasted attempted and I nothing happened.
Plugged it back in, ~2 hours later the Green light came on and I could press Power to have the Battery Screen come on.
Flashed it and it worked! Thanks for the support!
I'm not sure why the Red light went off. I'm thinking maybe the cord was bumped and the charger wasn't plugged in all the way?

Maybe you should flash your xperia back to the stock ROM. You can do that using the official Sony flashtool: http://developer.sonymobile.com/201...ocked-xperia-smartphones-video-beta-download/ . Just watch the video and (hopefully) you will understand everything. After flashing back to stock ROM you can decide what you want to do with your phone afterwards
Hopefully this solves your problem!

i tried one of the posted solutions, but in doing so i find that i can't even enter into fastboot/flash mode anymore, and i can't soft or hard reset. i only get the solid red led now when plugging into anything (pc, charger) and the phone is unresponsive to any of the buttons.

i have this exact same problem in this thread, the highlight being that the screen doesn't turn on at all, while others have been able to get to the sony logo.
it seems that everyone that has this exact problem has not gotten any solution yet.

exactly, the other problem is that sus and pc companion both won't repair the phone because the bootloader is unlocked.
i've flashed the relock bootloader ftf and it still says the same thing which is weird.
UPDATE - 46 hours and still only the red led!
My Xperia Ion has unlocked bootloader and installed this kernel.
I have used the Font Installer and installed an incompatible font and the phone restarted after it and went into bootloop (only sony and xperia logos were showing and the phone was restarting all the time...)
The first thing I did was soft reset (up+power for 5 seconds) but nothing changed so i did hard reset and the phone got bricked after with no led and vibrations, unable to connect to pc...
I put it into wall charger over night but nothing changed only there is the red led flashing when connected to the charger/PC ( 5 seconds red led, then 20 seconds no led and again and again)
I have tried Flashtool, PPC, fastboot and all the button combinations while connected to PC but nothing works, the phone is completely dead...
Does anybody know how to fix this issue?
Can you dissemble it? If it is decemble it and disconnect battery cable from motherboard and re connect it. After that try to connect to flashtool and flash stock firmware.

Dont worry....you should restore your phone using Sony Ericsson update service (seus)....using your computer...its not the same as pc companion...you can search it kn google...that will restore your phone...
To shut your phone up, in the sim card tray in the back, you should see a yellow button...push it and wait for about 10 second...first one will vibrate once, and the phone is off but wait until the next vibrate...it will vibrate twice...than the phone will off...
After that charge your phone before restoring...dont restart it, just let it charge..try it and report your progress...
I hope this help..

Can you try this,
1.Try to reboot at least 5 times
2.When in airplane mode switch between 2G-3G-4G-2G then turn on airplane, turn off, reboot, turn on airplane.
3.Switch ON airplane mode, reboot, switch airplane mode OFF, reboot
If these method does not work, can you try to downgrade your firmware to .244.....do you know how to flash with flashtool...?
I dont know anything about flashing. But ive read flashing would fix this. Btw my phone came from indonesia. But im from Philippines. Tomorrow ill bring it to sony service center. I cant switch on airplane mode and switch to 2g or 3g coz when o click anything on settings an error will appear and then itll hang and restart. And sometimes even if i just open it itll hang without me even touching it.

Well i have had a similar issue with my T2 Ultra....Not exactly the same but when i used to plug the USB in...phone wont charge while its turned on......and when i wud switch it off it wud show me discharging status........What i have figured out in my case were 2 things... Most likely it has to be the USB driver cuz it happened to me twice and both the times my laptop was going through an Update.......after finishing the update and restarting the laptop....everything went smooth. Secondly i googled about this issue and i read somewhere that its cause cuz of the USB pin (inside the USB slot in the phone) bends slightly down so cant connect properly...so i moved it to the center with the help of a flat headed screwdriver. I am not sure it would work for you but its worth giving a shot.
