Anyone know of a way to stop Titanium backup from backing up cached music or skip just one app? It is backing up my Google music app. which I have set to a cache of 2GB and making for a ridiculously large backup file.
Backup/restore > menu > preferences > uncheck backup app cache

Say I am on a rom and want to switch to a different one. How do I backup just my apps from from [Rom A] and then reload them to [Rom B] after flashing? What selections do I choose within Titanium backup?
From [Rom A] I choose the middle button "Backup/Restore" then select Menu > Batch. Then select the Run next to "Backup all user apps". Is this correct?
Then after flashing a new Rom I go into Titanuim Backup and there is no option to just restore the 60 apps. Am I missing something?
Thanks
In Titanium (assuming you have paid version)
Menu | Batch
Backup all user apps + system data
root, wipe, flash rom, etc.
In new Rom, go to Market, download Titanium and open app
Menu | Batch
Restore missing apps with data
Restore missing apps + all system data (select data only as you already restored the apps...not sure if you can do this step in place of previous, but I'm superstitious and this is how I roll)
I would just do a backup of all apps and not the system info...some roms are tweaked differently and restoring the system settings could give you bad results.
I will give that a try, thanks for the replies!
Hello to all,
After flashing and rom, once I have logged in my google account, i have to clear data and cache from market to prevent the automatic installation of all my apps.
Since I have the backup i don't need this automatic restore.
How can I disable it expecially with gingerbread roms???
Thanks!

1. Wipe everything via CWM (data/cache/dalvik cache). Do it manually. Install the ROM you want.
2. Reboot your phone. Do not setup your google account now.
3. Go to settings ---> Privacy ----> Check Backup my settings (you need to do this to uncheck "automatic restore" option) and uncheck "automatic restore" option.
4. Restart your phone. Set up your google account. Uncheck backup my settings.
This will do it. It is indeed very useful when you do not want the rests from your previous ROM.
When I check and unchecked it ask me if I want to delete all copies from google servers and I said yes.
Now when I flash new rom no apps will be restored?
But I have always indicated in my application on market which apps i have bought?
Thanks

Hi there,
I'm moving ROMS and would like to know how to back up game data/ app data only, not including the app packages. I backed up both previously and had problems!
So, I would just like to back up game saves etc..
I have titanium backup.
You have the option in titanium to restore data only.
Ie. During batch restore, click on restore user apps with data, then select data only and deselect the apps your not restoring data to.
You can also long tap on any listed app in the backup/restore tab, tap restore, data only

Okay, thanks for the swift reply.
Just a quickie, I'm a bit confused.....
When backing up, which option do I select after I have selected 'batch'?
Isn't there an option to back up the app data only?
Cheers
Select - backup all user apps. It will backup the apk well as data.
There is an option in the preferences about the apk, but I've never tried it.
Can't hurt to have a backup of the apk anyway although best to restore data only, particularly restoring across different ROMs.

What is your preferred way to backup apps and ALL save data between ROMs? I have tibu but I'm worried it won't retain a lot of my save data.
TiBu works fine. Just do the batch operation "backup all user apps" when you flash a new ROM install TiBu and the key and if you're lucky just go back into the batch operations and restore data in apps you ABSOLUTELY need like games or apps you forgot logins to... etc. But apps like twitter or Facebook where all you have to do is sign back in... don't restore data on. Once it restores all those data + app. Go back into the operation. And select the option "app only" then just hit the check and it will restore the rest.

"Settings - Personal - Backup & reset - Backup my data" says it will backup "any app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and other settings to Google servers" (4.2).
What isn't backed up? I'd guess media (music, videos, photos), but what else?
Is there any way to view the backup to see what is or isn't there?
How does one restore from backup?
There's a help screen for these settings, but it uses words like "most" and "some" which isn't very precise. http://support.google.com/android/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1663708
