Hey Guys
I spoke to deadlyCoder over PM and he says that there was a misunderstanding from other devs and they don't want to release it now so he asked the mod to close the thread.
So that's why the thread is closed.
PS: I apologise to theDeadlyCoder for my outrage, I take back everything I said as I was angry, no hard feelings I hope?
Cheers

You guys might get a surprise by the end of the week, who knows
Please don't pm dev about it, just be patient!
OFF TOPIC:
NOTE TO EVERYONE (and myself): Guys lets respect one another and not discourage others and be horrible about it, how would you feel if that was you on the receiving end? I know some people have been horrible to Ronnie but what good does that do? Why do that???
Anyway I will try to keep the forum and other peoples feelings happy at least from my side. If you do make a mistake, it doesn't cost anything to say "Sorry"

Post Limit for Experienced Developer

Hi, great forums and flashed a few ROMS now from the great cooks on the site.
I have one small gripe however, i am a software engineer and interested in Android apps specifically integration with mono and WCF web services. I couldnt find anything on the site so i went to post - but couldnt becuase of post limit.
I understand the need for it to filter out less sensible question, or at least make people search before they write, but very frustrating in other cases.
Just my 5 pence worth.
Cheers,
Chris
If you feel you should be exempted from this rule, post your development in a general section and Private Message a Moderator and ask them to move it to the development section. If your work fits the bill we will be more than happy to help you out.

His join date is December 2010. He should be exempted from the rule anyway. Only users who joined this year should be affected by the ten posts rule. I'm sure someone could fix his account for him.

You do have a point. If he is having this issue he should contact the Administrator MikeChannon so he can troubleshoot the issue.

New user cant post development thread

This is really annoying... i want to post some work for ICS for speedy aka htc evo shift yet i am unable to because of my post count i could just post randomly but then there is a timer cut off...
why make it so diffcult
There are some good reasons.

While similarly *left outside* the dialogs I'd join, I get your message, and that to pass on to the mod(s)... respectfully, of course: so, pose post of worth, as so many read here are to my ploy, er, toil (better), play. Strop and trim, bit by bit...
...and yes, I'm in the middle of a score with that "subtle knife" (Pullman) of "just which bits to cut"... [meanwhile] Yes! Not a brick, yet a conduit! Hooray! And with thanks from those who have and may post, of worth, to have helped me thus.
OK, so I'm a wordy nerdy hacker... Defining the scope of *what's in, what's out" is well within a devel community: that is, this site is useful by such definition.
Thanks!

Lol that made me ROFL, anyways its not a big deal i respect this site and there rules... and as a matter of fact the limit kept me from posting a rom that had more issues then was worth at the momment giving me the much needed time to refine everything so hopefully when my lazyness gets around to it ill reach then ten posts and post somethings of much superior quality!!!

Zero Tolerance (IN EFFECT)

Consider this the beginning of the end.
TROLLS/FLAMERS/FANBOYS
As of this moment Zero Tolerance is in effect. What does that mean for you?
It means...
1. Trolls - you are not wanted/needed
2. Flamers - you will not be tolerated
3. Fan boys - I'm glad you are a fan of a certain developer. That gives you no right to bash/flame/troll anyone
You will be infracted quickly and without warning. Do it again after that and you will be banned no questions asked.
A lot of the trolls/flamers/fanboys here think they are cool, just floating under the radar to avoid repercussions. Well, we have been watching you, and its ending.
So in short.
Consider this your final warning
I don't care who you are, this applies to everyone.
Thanks.
Edit from the Archangel: if you see problems arising, pm us mods or report it, we will jump on it ASAP. This won't work unless yall help us out to help the community.
I see no problems. I actually encourage this. Good luck

It goes both ways, some of the developers are just as bad and one of them is out of control. Not going to say who but I'm sure we all can figure it out. We are all here to learn, and have fun messing with our phones. It shouldn't be so much drama with one another. I do appreciate all the developers but they also need to follow the no drama rules. If someone has an issue take it to a pm or just go straight to a moderator to handle it.
Also if someone can't read and posts something in the wrong area, instead of ripping him a new one just ignore it. Then report it to a mod and have him deal with it, that would keep all the drama down to a minimum.

Ok..so what is the exact definition of a troll? I know Apple is a patent troll but what would a forum troll be? I'm getting to old for this internet language.
Android is upgrading...
This goes for everyone...but in a thread the originator especially in a dev thread has control of how much offtopic chat and if the have a general and/or q&a thread for their rom they hsve control of questions being redirected to the appropriate thread. That being said trolling and flaming will not be tolerated. We are all expected to act civilized and like adults. The childish back and forth is over. And please don't call others out in public. Report the issue and we will deal with them directly. Calling them out in public will gey u infracted.
A troll is someone who is pretty much causing issues witj othet users on the forum or just derailing the thread non stop. They r obvious to spot...they r usually sitting around trying to poke a sleeping bear with a stick lol

Wikipedia definitions, which I think nail it:
Troll - Someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.
Flaming - Hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users, often involving the use of profanity.

That happened on 27th November at 17.10h. If the ARHD thread will ever get reopened, is not clear.

Hey mate, who made you the XDA "what you can ask questions about" bloke ? I can see your reply in the afore mentioned 1st post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34746310&postcount=3 , again, who gives you the right, or knowledge, to comment on what someone else deserves ?
When I look in the OP from Mike's thread (and according to many - many posts in the thread, not a lot of people do !), I see that he has recognised
"•Thanks to HTC for the base firmware"
Where does this bullsh%t end ?
Football (and by no means am I having at go at him/her) would have received leaks from someone else. Not credited as far as I can see, or if he/she works for HTC, then the leak is their IP, and Mike's "•Thanks to HTC for the base firmware" holds true, although possibly tongue-in-cheek.
Anyway, I logged in tonight to find out why the ARHD, for my Aussie One X, thread was paused, and you offered no help. To me, that's not in the spirit of Android, or XDA.

Why are new members seen as NOOBs?

Why are new members generally seen as Noobs?
One of the reasons I registered is to post my work, not to ask stupid Questions (expect of this one, sorry for that but I need to get my 10 Posts)
Kind regards Uwe
Noobs are seen as noobs
If you want to share your work.. share it in general section... and report the thread asking to move it to development after you get 10 posts... which you will get in same thread or you can get it by answering questions in Q& A section.. its not like 10 posts is that hard.. it hardly takes 1 hr to get it properly..

Well if your smart enough to offer work for development you've got to be smart enough to read and understand XDA's simple requests.
Reading the rules is vital if you want good treatment here.
More direct answer...
99.9% of the new user registrations are just that, Noobs. They have absolutely no idea what they are getting in to.
u.k-f this may help you figure that out.
I am sorry for asking this (probably) stupid question. Nevertheless, thanks for your answers.
I would like to apologize

I get the need for rules and order, but...
I must admit that I find it frustrating that I can't post feedback on a ROM, as requested by the maker (UltimaROM/Kryten2k35) simply because I haven't posted some other silly stuff on xda-developers before.
I'm not trying to stir the waters, honestly, but I haven't seen a question I can answer which doesn't already have dozens of answers (so I don't see the point in spamming), I answer my own questions by googling (often ending up on xda-developers, reading tens of pages of posts to get somewhere, and often actually getting there... thanks everyone!). It's especially frustrating when the guide for getting 10 posts says "Always read lots post little" -- something I have been doing, quite a lot, really. I'm no mobile dev, but I am a programmer by trade (12 years now) so I have an idea of how to conduct myself -- and how to be useful to an open-source / free project with contributions other than code. I think that I have some not-completely-useless feedback for Kryten2k35, but I can't give it. And I wouldn't email it even if I had an address to email it to -- it would just be more crap in his (I'm assuming?) inbox.
Anyway, that's my 2c worth. Let me go look again if there's some question I can actually help on, which doesn't have a plethora of perfectly good answers. The 10-post rule may also explain the number of silly / useless comments on open forums -- comments that I wade through when coming here from google. I really want to be a good citizen -- just voicing my (probably insignificant) opinion. And getting 1/10 posts
edit: I take some of that back: I have been able to find 3 threads I can help on. Pity I have to wait so long between posts... 5 minutes takes forever when you're waiting for them to pass ):

Remember you can just PM the dev here on XDA... Why is it that so many people don't realise you can just PM people?
If you need to get in contact with a developer to give useful information that does not really concern anyone else surely this is the best method anyway
What a noobish question absolutely nooB

I think she's actually borderline on the side of Sara Jessica Parker. No body and just a weird face.
