I want to pick up a nitro, I'm wondering if there is a stable ics 4.0 rom for it yet. i see the akop rom but it says it has issues with video and the video camera. are there any other roms that run pretty close if not perfectly. thanks for the input

Some say battery life is bad. in stock rom, heck yeah, but then it gets better. i just went with an extended 3800 mAh battery and its doing me great on stock rom. just ran 14 hours on it (under heavy usage)

International version is p936 for which there is a .kdz rom usable on the p930 (all variants) but that will unfortunately prevent the possibility to root
Battery life isn't that bad for me, but I've rooted the phone and disabled, with no bloat free, all the at&t packages + few others.
I usually (with normal use and letting the phone on 24/7) get 3 days with 2 charges.. so a day and half per charge or so.
When I use it more intensely I detach it from charger in the morning and reattach it before going to sleep which is acceptable for me because it doesn't die on me during the day.
got it!! the latest cm9 nightly installed, so far so good,the screen is a little narrower than id like, but it does make it nice to hold. so heres the first day with battery, lets see how it goes. thanks for the help guys i think this may be something to hold me over till the htc one x gets a little cheaper.

I currently have a Galaxy s2(Sprint). I've never owned an LG device and the galaxy forums rarely have anything good to say about LG. I'm not here to start a fight or bash phone manufacturers.

build quality is excellent. My favorite out of all the LTE devices at&t has. Nice grippy back Vivid is too heavy, skyrocket feels too plasticky to me. Nice medium on the nitro.

I second that. I think LG has some very good build quality. The reason people are so hostile toward LG on this site is not clear to me, but it's certainly true that LG does not have particularly good dev support.
On the plus side, none of their devices are NAND locked as far as I know, which is nice after coming from an HTC phone.
I generally like to try a lot of phones. And finally sold my 4s for 550 and bought a new nitro in box for 250. Best decision ever.
Spent 2 usd unlocking it and 20 bucks for the extended battery. Rooting it was a pain but finally succeeded. Now happily enjoying cm9. Love this phone as much as I loved my galaxy nexus. This phone is totally underrated for reasons unknown to me. Its quick, great screen and nice build quality. No issues with any of the radios (my infuse used to struggle to get a GPS lock). I finally feel like I am not going to switch phones for a while as this has everything m looking for.

I am currently switching back and forth from ATT one X to my nitro (I'm a phone geek). The one x screen rapes the nitro screen. You'd have to use one to understand. That said, the one x screen is too big for my taste.

Afaik, nobody here has reported yea or nay on the Nitro working on Tmobile's data. You'd definitely get phone service and at least GSM 2G/Edge, but you may not get your full HSPA+. I did hear that Tmobile was enabling the 1900 band, though, in some markets, so it's possible you might be able to use it just fine.

Cool, as long as she's able to make phone calls. She's been using my old iphone 3gs for the past several years and now her screen has become unresponsive. She mainly uses the phone to check weather and take pictures of her grand children. Since the device has a good display, I am sure she will enjoy the Nitro. I'm just glad she's not one of those high maintainance facebooking grandmothers. Thanks for the input

Hey all.
I've been an AT&T Hox owner since day one and I've really enjoyed this device. Battery life is insanely good, consistently getting over 24 hours usage and 5 hours on screen time. I am uprooted and on the stock rom.
I've been thinking about getting the int Hox because it seems to be getting a lot of updates and has a lot of developer support. HTC and AT&T aren't saying anything about the customs issue which is undoubtedly affecting sales. Rumors even have it that AT&T may stop selling the phone altogether. If that's true then I pretty much have a dead phone, especially since this variant is NOT the One XL int model.
I am not willing to give up the amazing battery life at the cost of benchmark scores. My phone is a tool and I need it to last a long time. What are typical battery stats of the int Hox out of the box? I also don't want to root and flash all kinds of roms until I get good battery life. Thanks for the help.

I'm not willing to give up the good battery life though. On the int Hox it seems to vary greatly from device to device. But even on HSPA+ its not as good as the LTE model.

Battery life is important, but I am not away from chargers long enough to worry about it.
I like the 32 GB of storage vs 16 and the unlocked bootloader and the development that is in place here.
I'm the other way around, I had the Tegra3 HOX 2 weeks ago because I didn't want to wait anymore, but I was waiting for the S4 version to come

I have what you're going to get. battery life is awesome, and everything is good. I just dont like the 2GB data cap on redpocket, but will be switching to straight talk unlimited everything for $45. dont go with redpocket, go with straight talk
I've had my HOX international for a couple weeks but didn't stay stock long enough to tell you how your battery life would be. On ARHD 6.0.0 with faux123 002b3 kernel, I am typically seeing 15-18 hours with around 2.5hrs screen time, 2-3hrs playing MP3, 15 min fetch email on 3 accounts, 100 text, 20 min talk, and a little browsing. Meets my needs just fine and the 26gb available vs 9gb on the HOXL really makes the HOX the more prudent device to own. It's just going to get better as software updates and development continues.
The only negatives for the International version are the battery life and no LTE. For me, I don't care about the LTE, and hopefully the rom dev's can do some improvements to the battery life (especially when using the camera).
The advantages of the International version are the 32gb, the speed and it's not limited by US carriers.
However, honestly I don't think either is that much better to switch from one to the other. There are positives and negatives of both and the negatives can circumvented other ways (power packs, cloud storage, portable wifi storage (whatever that thing is called), etc.).
I do have a great idea for the power problem... make a holster that has a usb input outside with the pushpin connectors (whatever they're called) inside. You plug a power pack into the holster and put it in your pocket... then every time you holster it, it'll charge the phone. Another option would be a slightly bigger holster that has its own power pack. You'd have to do some slightly tricky curve around the bottom for the pushpins because you wouldn't want the phone screen facing out, but it looks doable.
Wow im in the same boat as you guys pretty much lol, i just ordered the international version because i was tired of the almost no dev support on the phone (one xl), plus the 16gb storage with only like 8gb usable was getting to me ...
im a bit nervous for battery life thats it, because the one xl did have amazing battery life. best ive ever seen on a phone and the reports on this tegra 3 seem conflicting.

You can always carry a 10000mah external power pack for $50.
You can't add 16gb or turn a dual-core into a quad-core.
I had the AT&T HOX and was pretty unhappy with it. The SMS bug was annoying and there were a few other things.
Since picking up the International version, I have been much happier. I don't know what it is, but it just seems better. As to battery life: I have been pleasantly surprised. My experience is that the Int version does better when idling. So, all that time it's in your pocket, it's using no juice. That's kind of nice. It means when you pull it out of your pocket, there are no surprises. It pretty much has as much juice as it had when you put it away.
With a few hours of screen time, I'm still getting around 14 hours off the charger.
My battery life is awesome. I get a full day with good usage on my part.

It depends on what you're running. I ran it a day with really no apps on stock and the battery seemed great. After moving to a custom rom and installing all the apps, not so much. I run a number of apps that do polling or transferring of data, which I assume is why there are always a big discrepancy in battery reports. For instance, i run touchdown which is constantly polling my work email (and I get a lot of work email), dropbox which syncs my pictures, an IM client or two (depending on what i'm doing at the time work/etc), etc. Of course, I could not run those apps and get better battery life, but then, I could also go back to using a blackberry if I want to do nothing with my phone. From what I see on the forums, this phone does seem to do better with media and 'on demand' functionality, I think its just people who run a lot of background processes that experience the battery issue. Don't get me wrong, it's not an issue with this phone in particular, but rather battery technology. I've just changed my habits from carrying a couple extra batteries to a portable battery charger. Though, the batteries were a little easier to deal with, but whatever.

I honestly don't use the web that much. At work I'm on WiFi and also at home. Only place my data gets used is my gfs house, and even then I'm too busy to use the phone because of sexy Time purposes lol

I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who upgraded from a HTC Sensation to a Galaxy Nexus, and could tell me if it was a worthwhile upgrade?
I'm currently rocking a Sensation on Telus (unlocked from Bell) which is running the best AOSP ROM that I've been able to find. I was then considering upgrading to an HTC One X or Galaxy S3. But then I realized I really love the AOSP look and feel, and instead of fighting with AOSP roms on those phones, that I should instead just get a Nexus device.
The upgrade would cost be around $300-350 (while I can probably sell my Sensation for $200-250, so roughly $100 net cost). Is there any noticeable performance upgrade between these phones? I'll miss having the microSD slot (32GB) but I rarely listen to music on my phone, so I could live with the reduced storage space.
Any thoughts and/or opinions would greatly be appreciated

I did. Well worth the upgrade if you don't like the speed of Sense 4 on the S3 processor, or if you can't stand Sense 3.6.
Gnex is great.
I did, and the first thing you're gonna notice is the screen on time. With Sensation I'd always got less than 2 or 2.5 screen on time, with nexusGSM, well I can get up to 5 easily.

Very much worth it. I came from a mytouch 4g slide and I can't believe I didn't get a galaxy nexus sooner. I went from a mytouch 4g slide to a sgs2 to a galaxy nexus and this phone beats all of those names down no complaints

I made the same transition a little over a month ago - had an unlocked Bell Sensation that I used on AT&T in the states.
I considered the decision for quite some time as I was worried that the upgrade wasn't worth it. After making the upgrade, I am so happy that I did!
Pros:
- If you like AOSP or a stock look/feel, the Nexus will be a great fit for you (I ran HyperNonSense on my Sensation - a minimalist ROM stripped of sense)
- Screen size - I text a lot and now no longer feel the need to switch to landscape mode to type up text messages and emails
- Battery life - a slight improvement from my Sensation but never really had issues making it through the day with either device
- Jelly Bean - BUTTERY Smooth! Can't even begin to describe how nice it is. This is what Android was supposed to be like. This OS is a game changer IMO
Cons:
- No SD card slot. I can live with 16GB on board but having the ability to add up to 64gb with a microSD card would be nice for long trips
- 'Feel' of the hardware - I like the build of HTC phones, they seem to have more 'heft' to them. Not that the Nexus feels cheap but definitely uses more plastics than the Sensation
Verdict: Make the switch. I don't think you'll regret it!

My only other concern is the battery life of the Gnex. I've read several threads about folks complaining about the battery life. Then again, every android device has always had at least someone complain about the battery life. Is this anything I should worry about?

I guess I'm going to get flamed for this but I have to say a BIG no to Galaxy Nexus. I have both the GN and GS3. Here is why:
I love the Nexus devices and their ability to be upgraded directly and first but this phone isn't a REAL Nexus device. Verizon still has the upgrade button in their hand.
The battery life is one of the worst I've ever seen. No matter what rom/kernel combo you use, you should expect no better than 10 hrs and 2 hrs of screen time AT BEST. With GS3, I routinely get 30+ hours and 4+ hours of screen time on stock rom. Others report even better battery life than mine.
Now that the Bootloader is unlocked on the GS3, there is no reason to stay with this POS phone. We got screwed by Samsung and Verizon. The duped Google in thinking this was state of the art phone but it was nothing but a test device for the beast GS3. Plenty of roms are out there for GS3 and the Alpha CM10 is nearly perfect and an RC imho. The bootloader has only been unlocked for a few days though, I'm sure floodgates will be open soon.
Sorry about the strong opinion but I was very frustrated with this phone for 6 months. Now my 14 year old son has to deal with it.

battery life is great. Don;t be discouraged by reading complaints, most have no merit. No smart phone survives 4hrs of screen time running on wifi streaming hd video on full brightness lol. i came from htc inspire (1250mah battery) so for me its awesome using the phone all day and still being around %60 by the end of the night , my inspire would be dead before i left work

Have you browsed the GS3 forum? I thought the same and bought 2 extra batteries with an external power unit to feed GN. Then I bought the GS3 and was shocked how the two cousins differed so much. Here is a little unscientific comparison I'm trying between the two today:
GS3 Running CM10, 2100 battery, fully charged, calibrated battery: 97% left with 17 min of screen time and an hour since unplugged
GN Running Codename Android 3.3, Franco Kernel, fully charged, calibrated battery: 97% left with 58 seconds of screen time and an hour up time
I'll report more later on tonight.

I appreciate the honesty. I'm not entirely sure if the Verizon version of the phone performs significantly differently form the GSM version. I would hazard a guess that the LTE functionality would probably get tossed into the equation, but who knows.
Either way, my plan is to buy one second hand, try it out for a few weeks, and then I'll make a decision on whether to sell my Sensation, or simply resell the Nexus. I'm not a power user that requires hours upon hours of screen time a day. I routinely can get away with 1.5 to 2 days between charges on my Sensation, and I only ever run it dry if I'm tethering with it all day. If the Gnex is as terrible as some have made it sound, I can simply resell it for more or less the same that I'll be purchasing it for.

Have to remember, there is a 400mah (20% increase in size) difference in batteries. The gs3 is a great phone no contest but also consider the gnex is a great phone too and at $350 for no contract cost versus ~$600 for no contract for s3 i would HOPE the gs3 is better.
It's the same debate with any phone, most see no purpose to getting a phone that isn't the absolute best, but some of us look for a good price : performance ratio. When the next flagship phone comes out, youll see the same threads about the gs3 whre people say "the phone sucks, theres no point when you can get (insert new phone) instead!"

I also considered the GS3, but the cost is significantly higher at the moment (roughly $200 more). Plus the Nexus has the advantage of being a pentaband phone, which is great for me since it allows me to use the phone with any providers here in Canada. And the last bonus of the Nexus is the fact that I wouldn't have to fight with it to get an AOSP experience. Coming from the HTC Desire and Sensation, I've always had to fight and wait quite a while after every new Android version for really good AOSP roms. These are what I look forward to most about the Nexus device.
But believe me, the GS3 tempted me as well. Here at work about half the guys got brand new GS3 from the company, and they absolutely love them (I'm only a temp, so no phone for me ).

same battery, 2100 mah OEM, is being used on both phones. I don't dare using the stock battery (1850).
I'm sure the battery is great with GSM phones because they don't truly have 4G LTE. It's not even close. 4G radio is a battery hog. So if you are using it on a 3g/3.5g networks, you should be quite happy. But Verizon network has the best signal,coverage, and speed. This comes at the expense of battery life. Somehow, between GN and GS3, Samsung figured out how to address this. That's all I'm saying.
Also, there is a thread on GS3 forums addressing the World Phone/GSM issue. It appears that Verizon's phone can be unlocked to work as a GSM phone. I doubt this can be used with Sprint since most their phones have a hidden sim card.Here it is:

I just think that giving business to a company for this phone while there are better phones out there sends the wrong message. If you punish them, maybe next time this won't happen. Hoping the upcoming JB radios can help with these battery issues but I've heard it's the processor.
ah. I have the gsm one and that likely is the difference. Mine I get away with charging every other day but as said it is only 3g (hspa w/e its 3g).

That's the plan. We only have access to the GSM version here in Canada anyways. I believe Verizon had the exclusivity with the LTE model.
I current have the DroidOG, Droid X, HTC Rezound, Note 2, SG3, SG4, and iPhone5 and the Razr M is my favorite so far but giving the SG4 some time to see what its all about.. It's much too familiar, SG3/4/Note2 all pretty much have the same feel. Before the phones listed i've had many other Droids, etc.
I love everything about the M, except for it's signal.. I never drop to 3g where I live on any of my 4g devices but this one manages to drop to 3g. I guess it has to do with antenna size/length but everything else this phone is perfect (for me).
I don't expect everybody to favor smaller phones but after owning larger Android phones I feel the Android experience in a iPhone sized package is "right" for me.
I hope Moto makes similarly sized, powerful phones in the future!

Me too... I know Google is going to revamp Motorola to a large degree but i hope they still make small sleek versions of all of their lines like they did with the new RAZR line

After configurating most of my apps i'm getting severe lag when typing.. Its not registering my typing until 1 second or so afterwards.. and sometimes going in and out of various apps that are already loaded in memory is pretty sluggish and laggy. Freshly RSD'd the latest 4.1.2 build.. So i'm not sure whats going on.
The M was my first smart phone, and thus, my first Android phone. I can't say it's my favorite because I have nothing to compare it to. At the time, there wasn't much development and if I would have chosen purely off of development, I would have went wtih Samsung. However, the Sammie phones feel "cheap" to me. I suppose I could say that so far I like the RAZR M over other Android phones that I have had. To list I've had:
HTC Thunderbolt, Motorola Defy XT, DROID 2 Global, DROID X, and DROID RAZR M
I miss various features from all of them, but I think overall I prefer the one I have now being the RAZR M. I'm not sure what my next phone will be. My current contract isn't up until December 2014, unless I pay full price for my next phone.

Why can't you get your RAZR M to boot? Can you get it into fastboot mode and rsdlite it back to stock? :'(
I have to deduct more points from these three glaring problems (so far):
1) Long pauses (lag) when switching apps (even after they are loaded into memory). Things like Seeder don't seem to help at all (at low, medium or agressive profiles). Sometimes I'll be trying to type on the keyboard and it pauses for so long it shoots out a long sentence i just typed out.. Very annoying. Being this is the same hardware internally on the SG3 except 1gb less ram.. The SG3 had zero lag ever. Surprised Moto hasn't figured out what the hang up is here by now.
2) Charging the phone while Hotspot Tethering is active.. Mine will not charge, it says it's charging but it's unable to keep up a charge.. the battery still drains very fast while plugged in. This is using the built-in Hotspot, not third party app. This is important to me, my work sends me on business trips often and they pay for my phone bill but I can't rely on this phone to serve me internet while I do work. My SG3/Note2 will charge to 100% while tethering without a hitch. I've tried various wall-bricks.. Ranging from 1amp to 2amp to 5watts to 10watts.. none make any difference. It feels like the phone just heats up way too much during tethering and I bet the internal charging circuit just turns off as a protection.
3) LTE signal is bad compared to every other LTE phone i've had on Verizon.. My city is well blanketed in thick 4g LTE.. About 2 bars to Max bars almost everywhere you go on any other LTE device i've used. This one is 1 bar most of the time sometimes 3 max (rare).. And it seems the battery drains pretty quickly hunting for signals based on poor antenna reception.. But when using 3G, battery life seems much better.. Luckily 3g is usually more than enough speed for me.

I've also noticed that the Seeder program doesn't seem to help much. I've had lag with the keyboard too, especially waiting for it to pop up when I tap on a text field. It takes a second or even two. And the first few letters are laggy, but I'm using swiftkey. This phone does get hot when tethering, but I think I was able to charge my phone at same time.

Yeah, moto did a crappy job on the launcher. It looks great and has good functionality, but it's laggy as crap. I'm getting no lag at all on CM 10.1, and it seems to be nicer on the battery.
The tethering situation sounds odd... I would say check your charger but it appears you've done that. I can tether and charge happily, so it seems like there's something up with the device. Doesn't make sense at all because I'm in an awful coverage area and I tether fine on 1-2 bars 3g and even 1x

Is this not true with most oem launchers? I can't recall a phone I've not switched to either ADW (a few years ago) or Apex, nowdays.
I've owned a Incredible 2, Droid X2, Razr, Galaxy S3, and currently a Razr M. What drove me away from the phones before the Razr M was a mix of A) the stock software being terrible, and B) homebrew support missing or terribly buggy. Lets be honest - 3rd party roms don't live up to stock roms in terms of stability. What you may gain in customizability in roms like Cyanogen or AOKP, you lose in stability or even battery life. I'm sure many of you will disagree, but that's my opinion.
Anyway, as for the Razr M - it's one of the few phones that I think has an acceptable build quality. METAL for the casing, the only better-built hardware than that is an iPhone 4 or 5. The 'kevlar' back is a gimmick and the gorilla glass or whatever screen is standard now but I can't complain.
Hopefully if Google changes the look of Moto's phones, they'll stick with a similar build.
That being said, I do have a few issues with my M - Sometimes it wants to stay on 3G in an area I have decent (although weak) 4G service and I need to toggle airplane mode to get it on 4G. And the plastic bit around the headphone port fell out.
All I'm gonna say is sometimes I effing hate this phone and other times I'm freaking pumped about its strength. Its like that hoop-d Honda you won't admit is yours but when you are driving you feel like its a Ferrari.
I was so bummed to go from the g-nex to this when I saw the dev on it, but now I have been feeling motivated to learn to dev myself for it! I love this device through and through... It has taken the biggest beating thus far, and I have beat up some phones...

Coming from a Nexus family of phones.... and S2- S3, I'd have to say this phone is a piece of garbage lol...
Dual core krait like S3 but less pixels to run?? WHY IS THERE LAG?? HTC one S does not have lag and they have the same processor. Same with american HTC one X....
poor software poor software... have to stick with CM10 which gives me horrible battery life on GSM...
... oh and sometimes in orer for my phone to charge ( including wall outlet), i have to reboot the device...
very frustrating.
Time to get the asus padfone or something fun again
EDIT : Bunch of new roms past few days... lets see what we can do!

Never experienced lag on stock once you replace Moto's garbage launcher. Install Nova or Apex and give it another try.

I dunno... my lag is pretty bad. I tried CM 10.1 last night, and it's stupid fast. The only problem is that for some reason my cell signal dropped significantly with CM vs Stock.

1. I've read statements saying that you both can and can't use P930's Rom's on it. Would it be possible or not?
2. In most screenshots I've seen, the 4G / LTE icon is chilling on the status bar. Is it an always on (even if you don't have it) kind of thing, or can you turn the radio off at will? My current service doesn't have LTE nor do I plan to get it in any nearby future.

I have the bell optimus 4g lte from bell but its technically a p930. I can tell you that this phone can be set to use lte if available, or fall back to 3g if necessary, or just use 3g, or use 2g as well I believe.
From my understanding, and correct me if I'm wrong, but if you have to port a p930 rom; I believe its as simple as dragging a few folders from one ROM to another to get it to work, so long as someone has made a port of cm to work off for your device which I think they have. If possible, push for the p930 though, and try to get one with GB, and not updated to stock ICS or you'll have to unbrick to load ROMs (at least on the p930) as it locks the bootloader.

If I do end up buying it, I'll spend a good week just soaking up info on it before I actually try any flashing shenanigans and even if I can't it's not that big a deal (coming from a Xperia Live With Walkman, 1.0Ghz single core with 512 ram. Even unoptimized this should feel like a Ferrari compared to it).
My only issues were the LTE radio, which will be turned off all the time, and the battery life itself (which I forgot to ask about). For somone who doesn't game, and will use the mobile for rare calls, most SMS's and emails, and the occasional 1h sessions of websurfing or video viewing, what battery duration would I get?

i have a telus version p935 and on the box it says p935 but i opened the phone to replace a digitizer before and every part in the phone that has a tag says p930, pretty sure it's just the box that says p935.
i may be wrong but i have never had a problem flashing any rom that says p930
i also used a digitizer that was made for p930 and it works flawlessly

Yep I believe 930 and 935 are nearly identicle if not 100% ....most ROMs will day for p93x meaning they work for either version. As far as battery life that will vary greatly depending on the ROM, settings, and kind of use. You should get a minimum of ten hours of medium use (roughly two hours of screen on time) Here's my usage for today. Keep in mind I use the device as WiFi only so airplane mode and WiFi have been on the whole time.

All the P93x Versions are the same. You have to differentiate only with SU... I have a P936 myself and have had no problems with flashing P930 Cyanogenmod and all recommendations for P930 apply to the P936.
My recommendation is: Take a RC from CM 10.1 (currently no stable version exists) and flash the latest Wind Kernel (has to be for CM 10.1). I have around 26 hours of battery life (I turn on airplane mode when I go to sleep). I turned on airplane mode when it was fully charged. 6 hours later it was still at 100%. That is a big difference compared to CM 10.1 before the RCs. I haven't tested the battery life of the new RCs (3-4) but i heard they improved a lot. My Usage can be compared to yours: I surf the web like 2 hours a day, have push e-mail turned on (from 2 exchange servers) synchronize with my yahoo web mail account and gmail. I don't have any energy save app installed and i don't think it is necessary when you go with wind kernel.

I've a p936 in PT the only thing you need to worry about is which baseband the ROM you are installing has.
You can get 4G/LTE from Vodafone in some locations, the battery will suffer a bit.
Also take into consideration most ROMs available are either from US region or Asia, and with those you will have bad reception, to fix that there is a thread around with all the basebands available, just flash the German one, since all 3g and 4g frequencies are the same within Europe you will be OK.
Regarding battery, get used to charge your phone every day or every two days if you have low screen usage, personally the best battery I got was from LG liquid nitro v7 with wind kernel, and got me around 3h-4h of screen on time

Well, ended up getting lucky and did found a LG 4X for about €20 more than the P936, which ended up as the better option.

Main differences between the two are a slightly bigger screen (from 4.5 to 4.7, but same resolution), 16GB internal, Quad-Core 1.5Ghz A9 with Tegra 3, and a bit more battery life with 2150mHa.
Here's a comparison between them
The main difference between 4X and P936 is absence of LTE in first, and also simple IPS display instead of much more better AH-IPS in P936. The 2150 mAh battery doesn't really helps Quad-Core Tegra3 to last longer, but SoC is indeed somewhat faster in benches. But the screen difference is much more perceptible than benchmark scores
Ok so i have a DNA and i have a Gnex im having trouble deciding which i should keep for the long run. Obviously specs are on the DNA's side, but customizability is with the Gnex. My main question is battery and signal, i havent had my gnex long enough to see how these perform with the Dna so i was hoping you could help. My Gnex is rooted running Muzzy's latest 4.3 build im using Tinykernal also i am using the hyperion 3800 mah extended battery. Will this combination last as long as my dna throughout the day if not longer, and will the phone be able to hold on to somewhat of the same signal that my dna has? Thanks.
i'd hold on to the Dna cause it has better hardware than the gnex
and i'm sure the DNA has decent development no?
In terms of updates Gnexus wins all the way to KLP. Knowing HTC practice, you may not even get KLP

Friend of mine has the DNA and I've never heard him complain about battery, and he's outlasted me before too.

Thats if you live and breathe your phone. I hardly ( and this is the MAJORITY of the users) ever go past 1:30 display time. To anyone who goes over this "average" time has serious issues and should stop to think if most of the interaction is between a computer or actual people. If you view movies and things like that, thats another story but equally annoying. Its a small screen, I can't possibly see myself enjoying a movie in a 4.65 inch screen as a lot of the details are lost but thats just me.
On topic: The GN is a great phone but only due to the work the developers around here. You will receive biased opinions here and thats mainly because many if not most of us have not had a first hand experience with the DNA. So with that said, go with the GN lol

The DNA runs circles around our phones spec wise, the gnex is getting old, given the gnex will last a long time even after google drops support for it, but your DNA will probably be a device you'll want to use more, bigger screen, better specs, and the development is just fine there.

The DNA gets 2-3 more bars than the Galaxy Nexus, but that doesn't mean better download/upload speeds. The RAZR M usually has the same signal strength as the GalNex, yet 10 times outta 10 the RAZR M beats the GalNex in download speeds... Though ping and upload are about the same. So if you're concerned about that, run speedtests on both in a Verizon store.
I don't like the non-removable battery and storage (if you're going to limit the storage with no SD card option, at least make it 32 GB....), and I really don't like the plug over the micro USB port. Also, 9/10 or so used DNAs on eBay have scratched screens... Not sure if that matters to you, but yours will probably fall victim, it's apparently not Gorilla Glass.
Also, I'm done with HTC, ever since they ****ed over the Thunderbolt owners with updates and releasing the kernel source, I think a lot of us have been weary. How many phones can you say have 4.3 on stock or a ROM? There's the Google Play edition phones, the Nexus line (save the One and S).... Not much else I'm sure. Most devices don't have it anyway.
