Hello
UK customer here.
I purchased my first handset from the T-Mobile store and after a few days i had the flickering problem.
I took it back for an exchange and on the 4th day noticed the yellow spot.
I just contacted the store and asked it i could come in and get another swap, his answer was no it would need to go for repair.
Where do i stand???
i also have the yellow spot in extreme bottom left corner and visible in white screen only i dont want any hassel so i m managing howevr
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I have it also in the left bottom.
I don't care.
Cheers.
The reason I'm so bothered is that the store said I can return it as many times as I want and they would replace it.

Take it back and demand a replacement. Store managers generally aren't too bright. Contact trading standards if you need to. Tell him you will keep coming back until they get it right
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
If it's within 14 days, they usually replace it for you. A repair is not acceptable for a 4 day old product.
Agreed. I'm pretty sure a replacement can be demanded after such a short time.
The manager said no, repair only.

Then go above his head and make sure you lodge a written complaint and name him in it. I doubt he will be so quick to do it again when the area manager gets his ear chewed by head office. Then I would go into the store and smile at him maybe with my tongue shoved in my lower lip but then I'm petty and vindictive like that

Out of the box my screen was loose on the left side. I pushed it in and now it's not clicking when I push it in. Exept from when the phone gets warm its a little clicking sound and the screen is flexible right under the charging outtake left side.
Is it possible that the screen will totally get loose again later? It's now 2 days old. Ht24.
Any way you fix it when the phone is warm?

I would contact whomever you bought it from. Sounds like you got a faulty device that isn't what you payed for.

known defect, don't bother nothing will fix it, the lamination is defected, ask to exchange and a newer batch, anything above HT24A
I have HT23 with no issues.

This is my 12th one. No other issues with it. It's actually a little loose even when phone is not warm. Very small tick sound when pressed down.
Really annoying. Don't know if I should bother getting another one.

he is asking about a specific thing, you saying HT23 has no issues means nothing first you only told us which month and not which day about your batch the day comes after HT23
second its completely unrelated to the OP's question!

WOW you have gone through 12 handsets.. HTC should be shamed.. This must be costing them a fortune in replacements.. They are probably doubling production just to keep up with the duds!
Personally I would take it back. .As a poster said above it isn't what you paid for..
Yes. Thanks for your opinions. I will return it. And wait for s3 or a newer batch. I'm pretty tired of returning and ordering new ones.

look if you place a case over it then you will hardly notice it. i am going through the same thing as you..3rd handset i am on now. problem my carrier will only repair it so my last hope is HTC if to replace it or not..if they say to me they will repair it then i can wait till it is completely messed up ie the screen comes entirely loose and then return it..for now the case over the phone will do the job for me as it is not that big issue at the mo...
so for you like hamdir said return it and you probs get a new batch and will be better..
Hi everyone,
Has anyone found a good parts company yet for the HTC one? Especially if it's in the UK.
I've cracked the glass circle lens for the camera. I have to say I did absolutely nothing yet it's cracked from the centre spidering outwards.
I have seen whole backs for sale in USD. But it seems silly for a centimetre bit of glass that I can just pick out, and push in a replacement.
Any help is appreciated. Google and eBay have been of no help at the moment.
Thanks

I'm thinking it would be near impossible to replace it yourself. Apparently the One is incredibly hard to tinker with as far as taking it apart.

I'd have to agree. I have once again blown a speaker in mine...this makes 3 our of 5 HTC phones I've owned through the years that have had busted speakers. =\
Anyway, in my Hero and OG Evo the speaker was easy to replace, I didn't even bother replacing it in my 4g LTE.
This phone, however, is apparently one of the hardest as far as repair work goes. Ifixit rated it 1 out of 10 in the department.

4 Red Rings before I said screw it n smashed my 360 to all hell. Got tired of sending it in, waiting waiting waiting, getting it back only to have it screw up again. repeat

There are spare housing elements on ebay and etradesupply. A full housing set is around 40 USD. You will need some skills to replace it yourself though.

Pics? Just wanna see the damage, I HAVE two dogs and I'm terrified when their around my phone.
P.s. yup, get it from etradesupply. Plus there is a thread around here somewhere about instructions on disassembly and reassembly.
There can only be one, the chosen ONE.
I'm going to tell you right now its probably better to leave it how it is as long as its functional. It takes a lot of time and effort for this repair here is a guide for it I wish you the best of luck.( http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/HTC+One+Teardown/13494/1)

Dunno how true ifixit really is to be honest. Someone here repaired their HTC One just fine (search for the post) and I was able to open up my Surface Pro pretty easily as well even though ifixit gave it the lowest possible rating.

Even if they did you can't say its anywhere near as easy as the galaxy s4 or s3. The phone is not meant to be pulled apart that's one of the reason for the uniebody design. I will say most of there guides that I have followed has never told me wrong and are extremely informative. The whole point of me posting it is just to show op what he's in for.

Actually HTC has their own tool for opening the One which makes it easier. I recommend giving it to an HTC repair center and pay the price :/

I would love to be able to swap out my front top and bottom covers for the black ones. But I don't dare.
There's a guy on YouTube that has videos showing how to do it.
It's a lengthy process and fairly difficult, but he manages to do it many times and made a T-Mobile HTC one red.

Unfortunately because I'm a complete tard I have managed to obliterate the screen on my 2 week old M8. Basically left it on the roof of my car and drove off. 30mph later and a loud bang on the rear windscreen leaves me with a smashed screen. Not happy as you can guess.
Has anybody got any idea of how much Regenersis will charge to replace the screen and body to make my baby look new again? Also what sort of time scales in the real world do these chaps work at? Is the workmanship up to oem standard?

With the M8 you automatically get HTC advantage. The will fix your screen for FREE one time in the first six months. Call them, it's completely free. My brother sent this in a about a week ago and got it back yesterday.

Mine has no such leaflet, maybe they didn't put it UK Carphone warehouse ones
On the UK advantage site it says coming soon so maybe it's not in the UK

Feb 18th - that would be pre-order. Over in UK it didn't release until April.
On the down side, just checked my box, no 6 month warranty leaflet (Vodafone UK purchased 26th April)

Oh cripes, is it true that all UK HTC ones get shipped to Poland for repair?! WTF? Will I ever see my One again? I sent it to HTC as I assumed it would be a high standard repair with genuine parts. Now i feel like I'll never get it back and it'll be a shoddy repair if it does. :crying:
EDIT: According to UPS HTC have had my device since Friday Morning, but the HTC tracker says awaiting device?

Or, because the US is the land of Lawsuits (no offence to anybody from the US ) HTC decide that maybe it is cheaper to replace screens for free and covers their a$$e$ rather than have people bring lawsuits against them for not fit for purpose screens. (I am in no way saying that the screen is not fit for purpose by the way lol, it's my own stupid fault.)
Well, I finally got my M8 back from Regenersis HTC repair centre and I'm very surprised.
The total cost of repair was £103.31. I was expecting at least twice that amount as the phone is good as new especially considering the difficulty of the repair.
They have replaced the LCD, the bottom speaker panel, the middle assembly and the back cover. I'm quite impressed really as HTC were quite helpful whenever I contacted them and the whole thing has been pretty painless. It took less than 3 weeks from sending to receiving. Thumbs up for HTC :good:
The breakdown of parts:
LCD & touch- £43.06
Bezel pre assy - £5.58
deco plate upper assy - £1.17
Deco plate bottom assy - £0.89
Labour - £22
Shipping - £11.29
VAT £19.32
Not sure which one of those is the back cover, but it's been replaced!
That means that HTC charged about £50 +VAT for the actual repair. The parts themselves cost double that. No point in buying insurance at that cost.
The LCD is only £43 what's that close to $80??

Around $75 at the current exchange rate. There is a seller selling just the touch screen and LCD for $190 on eBay. The part I have been charged for is a complete assembly including the housing.
It seems maybe HTC are only charging cost prices for the parts. Maybe this is so as not to discourage people from buying the phone because of scary repair costs.
I honestly can't complain about the repair cost or the service. After reading some dodgy reviews I was expecting a worse experience.
