[Q] How to clear a stuck notification - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Liquid 1.3
Franco kernal
I received an image attached to a Gmail message and selected "save" when I had no service. Three times. It added a notification of a file download each time. I now have three download notifications for the same file in my list. After a reboot the three stacked to one notification.
I've cleared cache and dalvik, and ended all running processes and it persists.
Any ideas as to how to clear a persistent and errant notification?

I would say to try a wipe of Gmail application data and force close it.

Good idea. After I did this the notification remains.
The notification looks to be orphaned by Gmail.
Perhaps just in UI now?

Solved. From a previous XDA post. Google search resulted better than searching XDA.
Settings>apps>all
Clear data from "Download manager"

Agreed that xda search is not very good. You would think it would be powered by Google and work well for finding answer but it really doesn't.

Notification icon always appears

Hey guys, wondering if anyone has ran into this problem cause its a first for me. I downloaded some images off the browser and the images downloaded fine but the download icon (little arrow) won't go away now and I cant seem to clear it. Tried swiping to clear it, killed all apps, rebooted my phone and pulled out the battery but still nothing. I'm running AOKP 39 but Franco milestone 5 kernel. Any help

Your Play store app is having connection problems for some reason. Try to wipe cache + data for it via settings > apps > all.
I wiped data + cache and even force stopped. Didn't help. Any other suggestions?

A user in this thread had the same problem and fixed it by removing and re-adding his Google account on the phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765378
If that also fails, I'd try a factory reset.
I fixed it. I signed into Talk which for some reason wasn't signed in, restarted my phone, and it worked. Thanks for the help guys!

menu, settings, apps, manage apps, find playstore, clear cache, clear data, then find one called google services, clear cache, clear data, reboot while standing on one foot covered in peanut butter saying I'm a dirty little midget, and you should be good to go.

It's known to cause similar issues to this. Jeremy's steps should fix it. Give that a try.

Just to clarify, you want to wipe data and cache on Google Services Framework. I just got this issue yesterday on PA, none of that fixed it, even reflashing gapps didn't work, ended up wiping and reflashing everything.
The only thing you have to do is delete the google update and you be fine.

No calendars selected

This is a noob question. After getting the JB update every time I unlock my screen a little note on the bottom pops up saying no calendars selected. What is that and how do I remove it? Appreciate your guys help.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
I've never run the stock JB, but there's probably an option in settings>accounts where you can select a calendar for the phone to sync with. Just sync to a calendar you never use if you don't want to use the the feature. If that doesn't fix it, factory reset the phone.
