Hi!
I converted from Desire HD to One X. All MMS message I recieve are really small. It's annoying, cause it's almost impossible to see it properly..
Does anyone have a fix? I download the MMS with handcent. MMS i send to people are bigger than the ones i recieve.
If I send an MMS to myself, it is 200 kb when sent. When i recieve it it is only 25 kb..
im also experiancing this. is there a flashable fix?
thanks in advance
Im having the exact same issue - is everyone else?
What is the cause and is there a way to negate this annoyance?
how many of you are on O2? (or tesco, giffgaff etc who all use o2). They are notorious for shrinking the MMS pictures.
Bugger all you can do about it as far as i know.
Nope not moi - Im on Vodafone and didnt have this problem on my Samsung i9000 which was on the same network.
Very odd and frustrating.

got my touch pro 2 a few days ago, everything works fine apart from MMS, when receiving these they come through ok but are very tiny. Cant seem to enlarge them at all, the size of the file is around 6k which is far to small for an mms. anyone else seen this ?
if not will ring o2 in the morning and see if they are doing anything there end. never had this issue on my tytn II but have only just moved to o2 so might be that.
thanks for any help.
nobody else experiencing this ?, I have logged a support call with o2 to see if it is something there end. Very strange.
o2 helpful as ever, they wont assist as they dont support the handset.
There must be a setting somewhere in the registry where the phone is automatically downsizing these pictures as even if i send one to myself from the phone it sends at 224k but then receives at 6k ?
very annoying.
anybody ?
at present for anyone else that is on o2 with this phone and wants to receive full size mms pictures until o2 get there finger out and officially support the phone. I used the following settings from the htc touch, these settings need to be modified in the registry.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader]
Accept application/vnd.wap.mms-message,*/*
Accept-Charset us-ascii, utf-8, iso-10646-usc-2, ISO-8859-1, ISO-8859-2
Accept-Language en
User-Agent HTC_Touch_HD_T8282/arcsoft-mmsua-5.0.0.xx
x-wap-profile http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/HTC_Touch_HD_T8282-1.0.xml
this seems to work for me. now getting my grand daughter who has just been born at full resolution. much better than this tiny thumbnail size that I was receiving, she's small enough as it is.
My MMS wont send or receive on o2. Where do I change the settings?
What are they?
My data works fine and everything else!!
Thanks.
Stu.
If you have a custom ROM most will require a secondary CAB install for MMS provisioning. Check the thread of your custom ROM for MMS related information.
This has been breached a few times on forum, but havent as yet seen an answer....
On O2 all my recieved picture messages get resized incredibly small!! In turn i cannot, irrespective of settings, send MMS messages!!!
Have any other Rhodium users on [email protected] (contract) managed to rectify this issue???
O2 help have been zero help- not their phone, dont do the phone and dont care effectively.

I'm not sure about your issues of not being able to send MMS - the automatic settings worked for me.
Receving MMS is different, and I had to fool o2 into thinking I was using a Nokia N95. The o2 network doesn't recognise the Touch Pro 2, so scales the size of the pics to a default (i.e. tiny) size that it is sure will work. Hey guys who has T-Mobile US in your HTC Desire.Have you noticed that an incoming MMS message has really small picture or it looks really stretched out...When you send a MMS message with a picture to recipient he/she receives it with normal size and quality...in this case everything fine, but when you receive MMS with a picture inside it looks terrible.I remember I had same problem in my HTC HD,but I've found a solution and everything was good (few changes in the register fixes the problem). It seems like T-Mobile US doesn't recognize HTC Desire in its base and it compresses a picture to minimum size and quality. So,maybe we can change some system config files which responsible for MMS in HTC Desire. For example, write Nexus One instead HTC Desire and probably everything will be fine...
I hope somebody could help...
No solution???

im on tmobile uk, if i send an mms to a tmobile number they get it straight away but if i sent one to another network they dont seem to get it obviously my mms settings must be ok or no1 would get my mms's yeah? so isit just network problems why other ppl arnt getting them? also in the default messaging client, what does the big red exclamation mark mean when sending mms's?
thanks
I've noticed similar issues when sending MMS to non Orange contacts (I'm on Orange).
I think the red explanation mark is some kind of delivery / read receipt failure,
but not 100% sure. I tend to get it all the time when I send MMS.
I didnt notice until lately, cuz I had no problem to receive MMS. I was trying to send pic to friends, but my MMS was pending for a long time. I mean, I checked delivery report, nothing came up. Also, while it's pending, SMS had no problem to be sent. I m not sure it's just me or other has the similar problem here. FYI, i tried Handcent and ChompSMS, both got the issue. Anyone knows how to fix the problem?
I do really appreciate it, Merry Xmax, and happy new year to you guys.
Are you running a custom ROM? Could be due to the fact that the custom ROM has the MMS fix that ups the limit to 5MB so its taking a while for the MMS to get sent. You can try to go to your messages, settings, and reduce the max limit from 5MB down to 2MB or lower.
