Is there any way I can do it using the market and avoiding having to get the Apk file itself ?
I edited the .prop file from system and cleared the data from market app. No success.
Thanks in advance

Google the apk.
Or download to a compatible device. Then dropbox the app to yourself so you can open it on the KF
I meant without having to grab the apk itself.i want to use the market

from my experiance even with modded prop u cant get some free aps from market directly and paid ones dont work if u live outside usa, was told u can factory reset and use a usa ip to pair up the device and fixes the paid apps issue but i havent tried that
Thanks for the reply. AFAIK , i don't think it is possible, but, there may be a way to get over this barrier.
Thanks anyways for the answers

Yes, i did rebooted before trying, also, cleared data from play app and nothing worked.
Did you manage to make it work ?
I can fully understand why paid apps would be locked-out but for the free stuff it's just silly that there isn't some official opt-in alpha/beta/tester channel.
The official device compatibility recommendations aren't exactly accurate and anyone who has modified their build.prop to something less limiting can attest to that.

Let me know if there is any other workaround i may test.
I know its not related to this thread but, suddenly my "Documents" part of the Amazon Launcher stopped working.
Once i hit any document nothing happens, it only flashed to indicate that i clicked on it, but no download or opening happens.

EDIT: I've googled it, and could not find a download link, only these Crappy Surveys and "celphone free sms" options.
Let me know if there is any trustworthy source i can try
EDIT 2 : Found a Link : http://www.mediafire.com/?mek586fb3lyhrzz
Will give it a try now.
EDIT 3 : After installing, it says i must buy the licence from the market. But the app does not exist at the market.
Uninstalled, crap.

This Might help, I did some looking and found this page with a link to the market and the app Market Unlocker Pro. Kind of the long around but I did manage to install it.
If you are comfortable with using roms you could install a modaco rom which disguises your kindle into a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 so you have more apps to choose from.

Amazon Appstore device restriction
I am trying to get an app that I purchased (a kindle fire version) to a non-kindle. I am hoping there is a way to get the APK or something. I have a kindle fire, but it has a custom ROM, so Amazon again says I can't download. I tried the market tool, but it only works for the google market.
Does anyone have a solution to allow me to download the app in a format that I can then install on my Samsung Galaxy Tab3, or is my only option to put a stock ROM back on the kindle fire, download the app, snag the APK, and install on my tab3?
Thanks for your help!

Doesn't seem to work for me. Heard somewhere of an app in market would allow you connect, but I've never try.

ZT_180_adhoc_ switcher does not run on this firmware
I'm running AOKP Build 36 on my Kindle Fire and i cannot manage to install Swype. Using the LCD density switcher, i have switched it to 240 then tried to login and install but i keep getting 'screen size is not supported'. I've tried every other standard dpi listed in the app as well but get the same message.
I've been running ScreenMonitor as well and sure enough, the screen size isn't supported by Swype. They are off by some pixels.
Anyone experience similar problems or have success where i've failed?
Thanks.
This may sound like a stupid question, but did you reboot after setting your screen density?
Swipe works fine for me.
Maybe it's the app you're using? Seems like it would be easier to open the build.prop file with a text editor and change the line that way or get an app like build.prop editor and it works the same, but with nice organized dropdown boxes.
Thank for your responses. I'll try editing the build.prop file and see if that works. The fact that i'm running AOKP 36 shouldn't matter, right?

I restarted after every change.
Even if you manage to install Swype, you won't be able to download addition language in ICS, so you'd better backup, install CM7 bare bone (the smallest CM7), install Swype, back it up using Titaniumbackup then restore it to aokp.
That's all.

Are you getting your swype package from the official swype beta? That's where I got mine from and it works perfectly... I followed these instructions (half of it is just rooting): http://blog.pathany.com/2011/12/swype-on-kindle-fire.html
I tried the build.prop method and that just didn't work at all. It wouldn't load it with the right screen density.
I looked at those instructions, but my problem exists when i have to login to download the actual apk through the swyp-installer.apk.
I suppose i could try loading CM7 then backing and reinstalling aokp.

Don't know if it will work, Swype active code maybe hardcode inside Swype.
Just back it up once and you're free to use it even if you wanna flash another ROM.

huh?
Are you saying you want the amazing launcher on a CM10.1 kindle?
I'm 99.9% sure you'll need all the amazon services, and thus, nothing will work.
If you want to go back to stock there are guides.
If you want the launcher for god knows when, then I'm sure someone can pretty easily get it for you.

I see you are on a Nook tablet. Are you after the standard Nook launcher, Kindle Fire 2 launcher or 10.1 Trebuchet launcher?
Why do you want the stock launcher?
