I actually have two questions:
Firstly, How can I root this version of SGW? I don't want to mess anything up cause I'm new to this and have limited knowledge.
I was trying to upload a picture from my phone of the "About" page but I failed because I'm a new user. Here is what I was trying to show:
Model Number: GT-I8150
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: I8150XXLB4

Secondly, I managed to transfer my contacts from my previous Symbian Nokia phone. However, I still want to know how to transfer my text messages.

On my old phone with symbian, the best way i find to export my contacts with windows interface, when you connect your symbian device you can save your contacts on *.contact
this extension is easy to migrate your contacts information to android phones.
On my case its worked, just lost the image that i linked manually

Thank you very much but I managed to transfer my contacts and the trouble I'm facing now was with the text messages not the contacts

Hi everyone, I need help!
I bought a new HTC magic from ebay, all the guy did was open it and add the hero ROM, but it is running really slowly.
I tried to use the overclocking widget but it didn't work as it says it needs a rooted phone.
How can the phone have the hero rom n it without being rooted?!
Also, how can I now increase the speed etc and stop it reloading the homepage everytime I press home (30 seconds odd!).
It's a Google branded Vodafone.

Perhaps try to disable some of the today UI´s
or reinstall another ROM

Ok, I've managed to install the drivers for vista but I still can't access the phone through the pc (not even the windows mobile program), any ideas?
Also, my phone IS rooted.
When I download a ROM, the wiki guide says run the .exe but they don't have executable files!

Anyone ot the unlocked ROM Dump ?
Can someone clarify something for me.
Isn't this the unlocked rom for the x86 emulator/? As in, its not compiled for an arm processor and therefore won't work to produce a Rom as yet?
Also, if anyone knows - is the new CE core similar enough that older drivers could be used for the HD2 (for example)?

Download the Windows Phone tools put the bin in C:\program files\microsoft xde\1.0 folder and start a command prompt run->cmd or type cmd in search box for Win 7
then type
cd C:\program files\microsoft xde\1.0
xde (Bin name).bin
Emulator will run

Does anyone know how to get WP7 accounts to setup? Or does this just not work? I can get out with Internet Explorer ... but I can't get the accounts to setup correctly!
Yeah as far as we know integrating accounts doesn't work.
Seems like accounts do work in emulator...

They didn't get facebook integrated. You can view calendar either war. I don't know about e-mail I didn't look at that.
I can't get any accounts to sync either - tried both google apps (via activesync) and facebook - no dice.
Hello guys, I found this version of WhatsApp written in Java for Symbian S40, I tried to install it in my S8500 but is very slow and I can not even complete the registration.
Is there any good man who can run this application on our phones?
I hope that someone will be able to run it before I throw this crap of "smartphone".

For getting the latest Whatsapp for S40, you just have to visit these links,

You can try and install but it won't work, because it uses a specific java class which is only available in Symbian 40 system.

It could be done if its decompiled and those classes that it depends on are removed/rewritten.

I found the solution on a polish websites.
You have to use unlockroot application.

At the beginning I tried to root the phone with the Zhoudashi but it didn't work but now I have a problem with the phonebook.
When I have an incoming call the name is not match from the phonebook - I see only the phone number
As the name of SIM1 and SIM2 I have the china letters and even the hard reset does not solve these problems. Of corse I can change the name for the SIM card but I think my ROM has been modified by zhoudashi application.
What can I do to fix it?

Then, backup your rom and then please upload it somewhere!

Hello! I think the time bomb was introduced only in the latest version of WhatsApp (June 2019 update). It also introduced the annoying notifications. The previous version still should work. Does anyone know where to get the older version? Only if I did not update in June...
