Doing some searching online and not to many people seem to have my version. Is there a reason for that? Does anyone know when the update is gonna come for my version the WiFi issue is bugging me. Thanks for your help.
Same version here pal, I think it's an Asian-HK version or at least that's what the CID application says

BTW, from what I've read here, the OTA update should be available on the beginning of May.

I have the same version. But I am running a custom ROM now so not really worried about the update just yet. I might go back to stock later on when the update does come out for the HK version.

Sorry if the answer is somewhere else and I just didn't happen to see it. I'm new to the smartphone scene and I just replaced my G2 at tmo and I don't know how to tell if I got the OTA or not. I understand OTA means Over-The-Air but I don't know if phone manufacturers update their devices that havn't been sent out.
I just got the OTA, so I don't need an answer. However, other people might want to know so an answer would still be appreciated.
You need to got "about phone" in the settings menu to see which version you are running. It will tell you all kinds of info like kernal version radio version and a few others.

Sorry if this is a kind of useless thread, but did anyone else get a phone update on Three UK, and do they know what it does?
I recieved it aswell, I believe it's the recent 2.3.5 update.

All I can say is that I got an official WFS (Not from 3) but I'm on Three PAYG. No updates for me.
Got the update again, now it says 2.3.5, contains "performance improvements"

Im being offered a 20.01 MB system update but as I'm rooted can't install it. I'm wondering if its worth unrooting and taking it?
BTW I'm running a pretty ancient ROM so I'm not sure if there's a newer one which incorporates this update. Also I don't know what exactly the name of this update is, if anyone knows a way I could check that'd be appreciated, thanks.

Will this mess with my rooting or put back the ssa app which is for activating?
If your on CDMA don't flash it, I heard cdma has an ota that blocks the boot.IMG flashing option. If GSM just use ota rootkeeper and you'll be fine.

You're right about the CDMA ota. It's a known issue reported by many Virgin Mobile users.
Thought So but didn't wanna say for sure since im on GSM so never read the cdma threads, just thought i'd leave that part to the cdma guys they know more, maybe they even know a update number or something so that the OP knows that if the ota is lower than that he can still safely flash it (assuming he is cdma)

Which also updates the radio. I had to reinstall it back to stock with the RUU nonsense to get back to the old radio in order to flash anything that would work for more than a minute without rebooting.

I have heard and seen that Android 4.2 has been released to our One X's and have also read that it has only been released on unlocked phones and not on my 3 phone. Is this true?
Also, I have recently returned to stock 4.1 and a stock recovery, and as I am pretty much a massive noob, half the time I don't know what I'm doing! I managed to get the OTA from the 4.0 Nandroid I restored from to upgrade to the 4.1 I am on now.
I don't know if I have done something wrong and that's why I can't get the update or if it has just not been released for 3 phones yet?
Would be much appreciated if I get an answer
P.S. Sorry this is a bit long, tried to keep it as brief as possible and sorry if this has already been posted, couldn't find anythingon this!
