Sorry if this is a kind of useless thread, but did anyone else get a phone update on Three UK, and do they know what it does?
I recieved it aswell, I believe it's the recent 2.3.5 update.

All I can say is that I got an official WFS (Not from 3) but I'm on Three PAYG. No updates for me.
Got the update again, now it says 2.3.5, contains "performance improvements"

Sorry if the answer is somewhere else and I just didn't happen to see it. I'm new to the smartphone scene and I just replaced my G2 at tmo and I don't know how to tell if I got the OTA or not. I understand OTA means Over-The-Air but I don't know if phone manufacturers update their devices that havn't been sent out.
I just got the OTA, so I don't need an answer. However, other people might want to know so an answer would still be appreciated.
You need to got "about phone" in the settings menu to see which version you are running. It will tell you all kinds of info like kernal version radio version and a few others.

A new update should be available soon. HTC are aware they made a booboo.

I still unable to update it via RUU. Is there any other way to upgrade it? My phone is not rooted and I don't plan to root it.
Update was removed.

Is this abnormal for HTC? Or do they have a bad track record of this on their phones?

HTC won't remove the update from your DHD if you installed it.

They removed it from their update system, so anyone who wish to update now will not be able to.

Thats a shame!!
It was 1 step down for HTC!!!
Removing an update for the big amount of problems it has is just .. not good specially for Customers and their Reputation!!
Does anyone have an idea of the release date of the next update?
10x again!

Probably its buggy.
The update fixed some small things (better camera performance, optimisations), and fixed the initial root exploit.
However, it also created some unexpected bugs and in some cases (quite a lot actually) it also has corrupted sd cards.
I have had a call with HTC ref. the sd card and this will be likely replaced by another sd card, however, the guy I spoke with confirmed the update (for this and the other reasons) has been pulled and a new update would be released shortly.
Once you have the update, it is their to stay....unless....downgrade, root, etc...
Has anyone heard anything about this update? I am wondering if this may be my chance to gain root access by waiting for a rooted version?
I "heard" one person...ONE that says he/she got the OTA. I'm not buying it. Oh well...just waiting for the rooted update, if in fact the OTA even went out.
Can I haz Netflix?
In another thread about the update http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132153
Some one says they called sprint and it was pulled due to bugs.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076150 Download this apk. Worked perfectly fine on my device.
Hello I'm new here and I would like to ask if I should wait for someone to root the 4.22.651.2 or I should just download the new its the 4.24 and forget about rooting my EVO
So the golden rule is of course never take OTA updates. However, I look at it this way. Your already unrooted, and if they find an exploit were still looking at several weeks before it's released so why not see what the new firmware brings.
Im guessin now that this latest OTA is released things may progress, but what the heck do I know.
I got the update this morning.
So what happened? Is this a whole new ROM or just a patch?
i SAW, AND AS SURE AS SNOT IS SLIPPERY, DID NOT INSTALL TILL I KNOW WHAT IT DOES
way to thread necro mate!
Im being offered a 20.01 MB system update but as I'm rooted can't install it. I'm wondering if its worth unrooting and taking it?
BTW I'm running a pretty ancient ROM so I'm not sure if there's a newer one which incorporates this update. Also I don't know what exactly the name of this update is, if anyone knows a way I could check that'd be appreciated, thanks.

Doing some searching online and not to many people seem to have my version. Is there a reason for that? Does anyone know when the update is gonna come for my version the WiFi issue is bugging me. Thanks for your help.
Same version here pal, I think it's an Asian-HK version or at least that's what the CID application says

BTW, from what I've read here, the OTA update should be available on the beginning of May.

I have the same version. But I am running a custom ROM now so not really worried about the update just yet. I might go back to stock later on when the update does come out for the HK version.
