Here's a boot animation I've been working on and finally got completed. LCARS interface initiating from Star Trek.
Download it from here:

Awesome animation!
Some typical LCARS sounds might make even better
Seems I have to reboot more often now

good job man
thanks
Thanks! Glad you like it!
Great work! Thanks
amazing, i'm loving it
This is by far my favorite boot animation
I love this animation so much that I have it on my Nexus and tried to use it on my Galaxy Tab. This is somewhat unrelated, but it displays in the wrong orientation on my Tab. Can you please point me in the right direction toward correcting that?
Thanks,
Jim
I have to change the orientation of the images and in the desc.txt file. You can try this one for the time being:
http://db.tt/UBZkbanK
I made this one for the ASUS Transformer Prime, so it's got four cores at the end instead of just two, but I'm working on one for the Original ASUS Transformer that will drop back down to two Cores.
EDIT: Here is the updated one for the TF101 Transformer with just two Cores: http://db.tt/VpV6NnLa
ah...This made my day.
I complained when my phone booted too fast.
looks awesome! sound+portrait would be even better.
I'd love to add sound but I haven't seen any instructions on how to add any. I know there are a couple ROMs that are out there that have sounds on the boot animation, but I don't think it's a universal setting....just specific to those ROMs. If there's a way to add sound that would work on any ROM, let me know!
Thanks!

OK, how did you get the sound to work? What ROM are you running?
The boot animation and audio with the 1 in front are the originals. I put a 1 so I wouldn't have to move them. Move the audio file you want to the directory in the pic with root explorer and title them exactly as I have. You can delete or replace the originals, you don't need to keep them in there like I did, I was just being lazy.

Oh. And it may be case sensitive, I don't know if it is here but for system sounds like clicks stuff I think it is so if you have issues make sure the case is how it would be by default, lower case for boot audio, and upper case for system sounds. I could and probably am totally wrong though.

I have been through the entire sticky'd thread for boot animations and I just can't find one I like so I thought I'd request one. What I want is pretty simple:
Something with the Android robot
Something explosive, colorful and beautiful
Something smooth, sharp and futuristic.
Basically, like the droid x boot screen on steroids, more colors and an a little android bot.
Or The nexus boot animation but on steroids and a little android bot.
Something comparable in epic awesomeness as the more recent final fantasy video games.
Preferable no words, just animation (maybe "loading" or "booting" would be okay).
On a flashable zip.
If it can't be done I understand and I'll settle for continuing my hunt to find one.
Thanks to anyone who can help

mixed with the nexus boot animation featuring a little android bot.
You know, big smooth, epic, colorful, futuristic, awesome. The boot animation that everyone will want
Can this be done? and if so, can someone do it? I'm a code guy not a graphics guy so I've no idea how any of this works.
That does look awesome. I want to change mine also but new to that part.seems easy keep me posted buddy. Thanx

Who wants a challenge?
I found these 2 pretty awesome boot animations by googling "bootanimation.zip"
They both came from droid eris forums.
If anyone wants to mod them to work on an evo and put 'em in a flashable zip, you'd be my hero, I definitely want a copy of at least unstable core
I updated the txt file in both of them to match one I found in the other Evo bootanimation zips but I still get an error when I try to flash them.
Anyone know how sweet these are?

Ya wow that droid x one with an android there instead of a ball, that'd be f****** sick.
quick question.. instead of flashing these boot zips why dont people just move them to system/customize/resource. then rename the old boot anim. and name the new one "bootanimation.zip"
Yeah. That's how I do it

Hi all. This isnt new but for those of you that havent found it yet this is the Xoom Honeycomb boot animation feel free to download. But I need assistance, after installing it when the animation ends and it is about to loop there is a quick flash to white screen and then it continues. Not too big of a deal but was wondering if anyone could help me, Im kind of a perfectionist but have no idea how to fix it myself. Thanks
Heres a vid of what it looks like
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSWnKu5hr7g&feature=player_embedded
and I will attach the bootanimation.zip
For those that dont know. All you have to do is take the .zip, rename it to bootanimation.zip and copy it to the /system/media folder. Backup your old boot file if you want.
Edit: Found a ported version for the droid x that looks pretty good going to attach that. I also attached two landscape bootanimations. One has the Honeycomb Bee at the beginning and the other doesnt. Just thought you guys might want to see it.
I looked at the frames, theres nothing that shows a white flash there but once it played on the phone, i see the flash. also for our vision phones, we need it to be 480x800. the zip files are all 512x256 and its all stretched
Looks sexy

Your right. Just put it in the data/local folder and your done.
(use root explorer or some other file explorer, that lets you navigate the android files)
Reboot to see the animation.
does the phone have to be rooted?? not sure exactly how to install..
I took out some of the solid black screens and it seems to flow better without the long breaks.

the menu sounds on clicks
round materia backgrounds in the appdrawer instead of the square ones we have now
any of cloud's limit breaks as boot ani

I totally agree. And sorry for stealing you're thread. Just figured if a themer is searching around, it's better not to have to scrub through pages of banter. No offense intended.

Got the original midis too and not the many self made spin offs out there.
Hey I wonder if it would be possible to have an animated lock screen of say, lifestream moving around?
Being that the limit breaks were never that long, I'd say the full animation from the game would be perfect.
And this is for Samsung Epic. Not CM7 (saw your signature, just making sure you're aware )

I'll see what I can do! Going to sleep will get back with you tomorrow evening
Omnislash Bootanimation FF7 (game)
Ok, so it's not quite evening yet but I managed to get one out... Because the videos in the game are usually displayed in wide screen format, it will be a little smaller than you might like in order to portray it in portrait mode (phone straight up and down). I've set the default frames per second to 30 but you can change that if you like. I'm not sure how long your boot animation lasts as there are countless variables that decide that. currently, at 30 fps, it should be about 40 seconds. I trimmed this up to get it that small and can trim it more if needed.
In the other file I'm including the sound file that syncs with the animation. It is in mp3 format and could possibly be off sync with your rom and/or settings due to either a slower or faster boot up. Thus, you may need to play with the fps to get it just right. Don't forget that THIS file needs to be extracted.
Now, as far as the animation is concerned, you will need to rename the zip file to whatever your current boot animation file is named. It varies from rom to rom, but it could be botanimation.Zip or vzw_bootanimation.zip, etc. It's going to either be located in the system/media folder, or system/customize/resource.
If you want the audio to work (and this is usually a shot in the dark getting it right) place the extracted mp3 file in the same folder you're dropping the bootanimation file in. You may need to rename it to like, android_audio or something. If most of your system's sound files are not in mp3 format, you may have to convert it to whatever audio format they are in using some sort of sound editor (good luck with that).
Let me know if you have any requests to change this animation and let me know how it works for you!
Oh one more thing.. If you don't want to lose your current botanimation forever, simply rename it to some thing else so my file won't over write it.. Don't forget to change permissions and ownership on the files after you drop them in the folder.

cant convert the .mp3 into .wav
I will do it for you tomorrow or you can do it by using the free computer program I use: Wavepad sound editor. Once installed, you can right click the mp3, click edit, and once the app opens, "save as" and you can select wav. I will upload it tomorrow if you haven't already done it. How is the bootanimation? I made one up pretty quick, works fine and is looped, I am working on finding a better resolution as it is has black bar on top and bottom, when I finish a full screen version I will hook u up
Just go into any root explorer and go to: data>local and rename the bootanimation.zip file to bootanimation.bak and then copy this one in the same folder.

Hey guys, I'm not sure what to do next. I recently flashed in Jedi Master 14, which I'm loving, amd decided to be ridiculous and theme the entire phone to Star Wars, or as much as possible. DD gave me a Yoda shutdown anim, and I used the in-house boot animation installer from Rom Toolbox to change my boot animation.
Which led me to my sounds. Figured I'd start off easy with the lockscreen sounds, replce the watery splooshes with saber deactivation/ignition. So I did a bit of research amd figured out how to do it.
Found the files, that was easy. Also found an app to convert my downloaded mp3s to oggs, changed them, copied out the original sounds, put the new ones in, chamged the permissions to match their neighbors, rebooted and tested. Silence. I just also tried changing ownership so both list as "root," same as the other oggs, rebooted and tested again. Still nothing.
At this point, I'm wondering about file size/length, but my digging has yet to give anything about that. Do I need those, or at least the sizes, to match the originals? Any help or advice would be awesome.
