[Q] Bootloader question for CDMA phone - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have a rooted CDMA xperia play running 2.3.3, my question is is it possible to unlock the bootloader of my phone? Cuase from my reading CDMA xperia plays are unable to have the bootloader unlocked.

Yes, it can be unlocked, but the only way is though a paid service, found here: http://unlock-bootloader.com/unlock/
It's $24.00, safe, easy, and worth it.

[Q] Unlocking the bootloader on R800x?

Sorry I've been asking so many questions but I can't seem to find the answer to this. I want to unlock the R800x bootloader, but from what I've read I have to use the Xperia Unlock Service website. I tried installing the AOKP rom, but I was sure I bricked my phone because it sat on the Sony Ericsson screen for over 5 minutes. I used FlashTool to get back onto 2.3.3 though and I'm rooted.
I have no problem paying for the service, but it's a shame that Verizon doesn't want you to unlock the bootloaders.
Thanks.
I think you answered your own question?

I have got the data to work on several androids i have used Motorola xt720 also Samsung i9000 but for some reason i cant get data to work. I have triple checked the apn info so i want to try custom a ROM i have done this with all my androids and not getting much info on the r800at version.

Your phone's bootloader will be locked if you bought it new. Unless you bought it second hand and the person before you unlocked it, you will have to unlock it yourself.
Here is the link to the offiial Sony guide to unlocking your bootloader

Hit Thanks if I helped :good:
You have to take r800at to att store and have them unlock your device for you. There is no free method for unlocking r800at version.

any way around locked bootloader?

with the Verizon version of the moto z play, the bootloader can not be unlocked. has anyone tried to work around it and still be able to root with the locked bootloader? i know with past Verizon phones I've had there were always bootstraps available to set up and still be able to have root but with a locked bootloader.
