First of all my Xperia Arc S is not unlock or rooted, its completely stock no modifications made upgraded thru Sony PC Companion.
anyone experience some issues on temple run when you swipe to side to side sometimes the character jumps or slides instead of turning left or right?
and another issue for me is xperia home launcher it doesnt save my settings to arrange my drawer in alphabetical order it always return to own order after opening some apps like playstore?
any solution guys?
need your help badly..
hmm,i think i read somewhere that some games arent fully compatible with ics and there will be problems with the touch screen.
yea my arc s is GB and temple run is running smooth. Then after i get ICS its not recognizing touch properly
It's appears when i update wif ics 4.0
When I downgraded this problems havn't appear.
This is a known issue with Temple Run and ICS on some devices including ours. Plenty of comments on this on Google Play so let's hope they fix it soon.
Congratulations, you are the 100th person to ask this!
It is an ICS bug, happens in most of the games. Sony's fault.
I am not happy with Sony's ICS. I actually run Achotjan's SEMC Debrand Engine and it's awesome. I recommended it.
Downgrade to GB is the best solution for this case!
I think so
Temple run is not fully compatible with the ICS.

It's not Sony's fault. I've experienced this problem on CM9 too, which is not based on anything from Sony(kernel, firmware, etc.)
I just downloaded Gravity Project and it has the same problems as Temple Run. Completely unplayable.

Hi everybody, lately, I'm wanting to get rid of Sony themes and annoying apps, and install a Stock ICS.
But as an avid FIFA 12 player, but I'm worried if this game will work, because it's exclusive for Xperia Play.
So, will it work?

If you go completely AOSP, and use a rom with NO Sony (Ericcson) material you will lose the touchpads and may also lose the directional buttons and the 4 shapes buttons as they are specific to the Sony software. You should still be able to use the touch screen with the game but that is if it will even load. I believe there are Stock Gingerbread roms with some Sony stuff left in it so that it will still use the full touchpads and game controller, if I am wrong someone please correct me but from what I have read this is what I found no Sony specific software isntalled no game controller. Like CM7 no touchpads or game controller and if there is support its only on a limited number of games like Shadowgun, etc.

So, I have to install a Rom based on Sony, uninstall all crap, based on a list of safe removal it can be found on this forum, and then keep hours customizing it to look like the original thing...

For speed and ease of use this is what I do. I use titanium to backup all my apps. Then I do a Custom Recovery backup before trying a new ROM. Then wipe and flash teh new ROM, then once its all booted up, I use titanium to remove the system apps, then restore the apps you have backed up you want to restore. I did a full blank slate on my phone 2 weeks ago an what used to take hours took about 30 minutes. But yeah it sucks, this method just makes it suck a little less. And when you restore from Titanium it will at least restore all your apps data. so like I restored my GO launcher and all my wallpapers and widgets were restored as well.
Hello.
I need your opinions.
I preffer something stable and smooth, and it's GB for me, I flashed ICS, and browsing on youtube is not so well. I need flash content, havent test it with games.
Lol.
Update. Or try ICS custom ROM's
Arc S, Updated here, very pleased. Performance is about the same, or better in other areas.
I rooted and removed some of the included crud, switched to Go Launcher and limited my background apps to 4, and it's running very nicely.
I think most of the problems and gripes are from the less powerful Arc Lt15i owners running hacked roms.

Stock launcher worked well (perhaps better than Go Launcher), but I miss the Go Launcher widgets and can't live without them.
Unlocked my bootloader using the testpoint method, and tried some of the custom ICS roms. My phone now feels much, much faster than it did even on GB. It absolutely flies.
Surprised to hear that stock ICS is laggy. Seems to me that if there was ever a good reason to unlock your bootloader, ICS is that reason.
I'm on locked boot loader and have upgraded. Remember for anyone upgrading using flashtool, connect to Sony update service and REPAIR, I flashed last night and I am pretty impressed. I don't know what everyone is moaning about. You even have root already. One thing to do as well is download Apex Launcher which is only available for ICS so go and check out play store and see three phone fly!!

I haven't really tried video, but overall I'm quite pleased, music player from Xperia s would have been nice with clear bass, but other than a few things we didn't already have anyway, whole phone is working pretty decent don't know what some people are on about.
Those of you who are having lagging issues, again I ask have you repaired using update service?

I agree with you I miss my Agenda widget with GO but... alternatively I have APEX with PureCalendar Widget which is working great.

I came back to GB because of the many glitches in games. Those cannot be solved by repairing using the update service right ?
In back on GB. If you like playing games then ICS is useless.

I started a similar thread but got closed.
I to was wondering about staying on gb or go with ics, in the end my techie nerd took over and switched to ics, can't say it has any real benefits apart from the show of factor that my arc has got ics.
I was very sceptical because of the negatives that people had,i have not had these issues even when playing games like temple run or angry birds etc...
The only thing I miss is the amount of mods, themes available,i know in time they will come but my techie geek wants them now.
So in short yes upgrade and enjoyB-)

So, I'm still using GB on my Arc S, and planning to flash ICS, there are two major bugs I've collected from posts on the forum that concerns me:
1. Low fps video recording
Is this only for 720p video or also for lower resolution recording?
2. Games not working smoothly,
Is this only for HD Games, or do games like Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds also have problems?
Been to ICS for less than 24 hours, got back to GB,I owned lt15i,maybe that is the main reason why is it lagging in some parts, but, there is no real big thing in ICS Arc to really shout about.
If i am upgrading,I will probably wait a month or two after it's official launch for my model, for the sake getting everything else easily, because to get recovery for ics on lt15i is real pain right now, in my opinion at least.Depending on which arc you owned,I really think that it will make a difference if I actually owned lt18i.For lt15i,it is a strict no,no for me right now.

The Games, I played, run as smoothly like with GB, but whenever Ram was full every Game was closed, Games like Cut the Rope and Angry Birds too.
(Sorry for my bad English...)
As the title says, I'm looking for a ICS rom for our Desire which works good enough for games.
I have tried many of the ICS roms and on every rom there was a problem with almost every game.
Temple Run doesnt respond to my swipes correctly and it often automaticly turn left and dies.
Tap Tap Revenge 4 doesnt recognise the phone resolution and therefor the size of the game is incorrect, menu too big and the screen while playing is very small.
Angry Birds doesnt respond to my touch. It responds to regular buttons like the return button but when i touch the screen nothing happens.
I want to have a ICS rom that works with atleast these 3 games cuz they are my favorite. If there is a ICS rom that works with one of these games then please tell me so that I can check it up.
I want to have a ICS rom cuz ive seen the big smoothness in these roms and in the games and it beats the hell out of every other rom that I have encountered
Thank you in Advance

I'm using COS ICS rom, and I've suffered your same problems with Angry Birds many times (don't know about the other games, as I don't have them).
All the times, the problems went away if I started the game just after rebooting. The problems seem to be related to something I used before playing, or perhaps with degradation after some hours of use...
Try it...

Unfortunately, some of these apps cannot be used until the developers update the app.
Temple Run- It's a problem with the touchscreen and it does not really run well with ICS. Some official ICS for certain phones (such as Xperia S) has the same problem
Tap Tap- It is not compatible with Android 3.0 and above. You have to wait for an update from Tapulous. However, seeing that the app has not been updated for more than 6 months already, it's likely that they abandoned it for tap tap 5.
Angry Birds- I can actually play it on Sanvold ICS perfectly, albeit with slight lags. So I don't know why it doesn't respond to your touches.
Hope this helps.

I have seen today that temple run has gotten a update that according to the logs fixed many problems with ics. Maybe it fixed the swipe bug?
I didnt know a tap tap 5 is coming. Is it coming to android too? Im very addicted to tap tap and i play it alot ever since the tiesto week. One of the song that came in tiesto week was my favorite and many more good songs have come so i play it now more than ever
And ill try sandvolts rom and will cross my fingers hoping that all my other games work as well as angry birds should work.
Hope also the update that has come has fixed the swipe/autodeath bug.
Edit: Aw, sandvolts ics beta doesnt work with usb tether!
I really need usb tether cuz without it i cant have internet on my pc.
I'm using Sandvold's ICS Beta Rom 0.10.1. Seems okay for games so far. And some games you've got no choice but to wait for the developer to sort out the bugs the game has with ICS.
sandvolds ics beta 0.10 is best. i have played even mass effect without any lags or freezes.

Temple run update do fix the swipe bugs. However, its still rather unresponsive sometimes. However I'm sure it would be fixed in the near future.
According to Tapulous, they are working on Tap Tap 5, hence they haven't be updating Tap Tap 4, I don't know if it will come to android or not though. They only assured iOS. Although hopefully it will come to Android, I missed playing it ever since I switched to ICS.
And for sandvold ICS, although usb tether don't work yet, why not just use personal hotspot? It does the same as usb tether.

Confirming that the following games work fine with Nikez Lente 1.0.1a5 ICS ROM:
-Temple Run
-Angry Birds
-Basketball Shoot
-Cut the rope
-Fruit Ninja
There is a known bug that for some cases there is no sound in Temple Run, dev is working on it.
BCM von dk_zero-cool. I'm running RC3.6U0 it has the same new adreno-libs as sandvolds port and at least angrybirds and templerun a working very well, touchpad is working, too. it really sad that the phone hasn't a real multitouchsensor.
Oh very nice, i dont care so much about the sound just want the game to work. Thanks aloot for tge info. I will definitly try it out.

so I just bought a R800i play on the weekend and have spent the last two days researching and messing with CFW.
Now because the first thing I did was install NXT 1.3 and lupus kernel, I'm not sure if the touch pads were working or how the PSX keys are supposed to behave with to begin with.
basically I tested them with games like gun bros, minecraft and even the touchpad test app by svenk919
they do not work at all and the O key always functions the same as the back key, but all other keys seem to be working.
I even tried to go back to stock FW and tried the above apps and no luck, so I went back to NXT 1.3.
I also tried modifying the Build.prop, nothing
although new to the android CFW, I am fairly well versed in modding and CFWs coming from the PSP scene, and am sure i followed the instructions
Basically I think i'm missing drivers or something or is there a way I can tell that there is a hardware fault?
Please help because I am about to lose my hair.
it is supposed to be brand new, and there is no cosmetic wear
although I did buy it in Malaysia and may have been sold a faulty/factory second?
Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried Emulators, I'm talking about the hardware does not seem to be detected properly as a gamepad.
touch pad being not supported in GB general makes no sense because I put it back on stock rom and those games/apps still don't detect.
and other posts claim that NXT has everything fully working.
Try using a ROM with farenheiths touch pad fix. If its a hardware issue it probably won't help but its worth a shot

Hello all.... I have a question. I have an xperia ion atat and have good old ICS still... With atat updating to jb soon.... Or not.... I'm looking into just flashing to jb. I see others with atat have done the same but I'm not getting any pm's back about it... Exactly how can you flash it if your not able to unlock the boot loader? I'm not exactly new to xda.. Rooted and unlocked boot loader on Sony arc and had the x10.. I'm just out of practice... I also looked at the firmwares for ion seeing the international version of jb was out and I know you can flash it to atat... But is it really that simple? Just get cwm.. Install new h version and flash it?? Any help would be great...
Sent from my LT28at using XDA Premium HD app
In order to flash JB on a LT28at you'll need an .ftf file of the jb firmware you want...and download/install the latest version of flashtool for your PC...The wiki at the top of this forum section has all the details on how to do both, and where to get both...
That is the 'easiest' way to do it...You can then find doomlord's easy root kit w/ busybox and superSU for the lt28at, run that...then linked in the same page was a cwm installer all for the latest .211 lt28h JB...so you'll be rooted with custom recovery in no time...
you can do that the other way around; there are a few pre-rooted JB offerings floating around somewhere...and you install them from an already rooted w/ cwm phone...so it just depends on what you're looking to do...flashtool is easy, and the root kit/cwm kit is also easy...i'd just do that and be done with it...
just be aware, JB desperately needs another update...there are some pretty critical bugs some of us have experienced...using gps would crash my phone (running something like greenify after rooted as 100% fixed that, though), the camera is 'unusable' according to most for video (no idea why but i'm not really noticing this one)...some have a useless volume up button, etc...
Seeing as you have a att device I would suggest you use the LT28i rogers firmware. There is a new root kit in the S dev section for it now and will be added to dooms root tool in version 18. It will be much easier to use that firmware so you don't have to worry about base bands and stuff. I had quite a few issues with losing my LTE on the h version. I would also suggest you not use the Sony backup to restore your apps. Use Titanium backup or something and restore just your apps with no data. You can use Sony backup for call log and messages.
Hey thanks for the reply's and tips. I flashed the H version then read what you said.. Lol sure enough lost LTE. I flashed the I version and not one single problem now.... Nothing,... Recording video is fine... Phone works better.... Battery is still crap but whatever. But im not seeing any issues really...
But thank you guys
As always XDA is a very helpful place.
lt28i (rogers) ion super slow on JB
Hi Does any one else have issues with laggy keyboards and an overall slow phone after "upgrading" to JB? I have disabled all of the useless rogers junk and whatever and have hardly any apps installed but the phone is slow and sometimes the keyboard is painfully slow to react. Example I am typing and I press the space bar and the spacebar will stay pressed for maybe 1 second when I am not even touching it. I have 0 issues with laggyness when I was running ICS and I could have my phone full of apps.
The same slowness is on my girfriends lt28i from rogers too after she did the 'Upgrade".
Just wondering if I am alone on this cause I always see posts about how great it is on the ion and how smooth etc. but I am not seeing it.

Ya I don't know why it doesn't like my phone or my girlfriend's phone. When it get super slow I check to see how much ram is in use and it is around 500mb. This phone is supposed to have 1gb but mine seems to have only about 660mb.
Well I am back to ICS and everything feels fast and fluid and smooth again! JB really doesn't like my 2 phones. I tried updating using SUS and also with flashtool but the results are the same.
Well its ok, I didn't really notice much difference with JB anyway. I will stay on ICS for now. maybe if they have a new build of JB I will try again.

On stock Rogers there is no lag that I saw. Now that I have added some of the Honami stuff I do get keyboard lag from time to time. Another thing I have noticed is if you pull all the FB crap out the phone it runs quite a bit better. There are still some bugs in JB for sure but I would suspect we will see newer firmware versions before long.
I was having quite a issue with LTE settings vanishing from my device on the H firmware. On the Rogers it has been allot better and seems to have less bugs.
