Hello
I've tried most of the Sense FroYo roms now and I can't make up my mind which I find most stable.
DeVillian, LeeDroid, UDK and Adams rom always seem to reboot every now and again. What makes it harder (for me anyway) is that I would prefer most Sense apps (Plurk, Footprints, Car Panel) and I would also like to install stock Contacts app. Pretty hard to find a rom which I can install the apps I want and performs well.
What rom does everyone think is most stable?

try using the neophyte rom and you wont regret. its built on modaco rom hence improved speed and no battery drain.

Same here. Really happy with it.
I'm using Pay87's froyo+sense rom, have been for over a week and there haven't been any reboots or stability problems.
Most of the froyo roms seem pretty stable now. Is it possible you have an app which is misbehaving?
ive used lee droid and modaco and both are stable. Did you perform the full factory/cache/davlik cache wipe before flashing the new rom?
I do a complete wipe every time I flash a rom. Probably me doing something horrifically wrong.

It's currently in the oven
But i've always had trouble with MoDaCo roms though. Don't think i've ever had one install properly
Edit: However, if this does work, it'll (hopefully) mean I can flash Mythamps Contacts/Dialer theme
I havent had one install properly either. It always gets stuck at the HTC white screen on boot up. Both 2.1 and 2.2 custom ROMS.
Anyone have the same problem or know why this is happening?

Do you have an ext3 partition on your SD card? Most custom roms has a2sd in it, hence an ext partition is a must.

True, but when the 2.1 mcr roms were out, we didnt have fakeflash, thus not having to unpartition it on initial boot. even when tried with an ext, it still wouldnt boot. Once got it to the Sense loading screen, but it wouldnt move on from that
As usual with mcr, it isnt booting. stuck at white htc screen
Since using ROM manager I haven't had a single boot loop with any ROM and I have tried most! My current favourite is MoDaCo R5 which allows me to include just what I need using the online kitchen. I have had no problems at all with this release.
MoDaCo R6 has just been released and adds the standard Contacts app and other minor additions.
I've had problems with most froyo roms. Imo none are as stable as the eclair roms.

MCR R6 is the most stable I've found. And I totally agree with the kitchen. Most devs are keeping QuickOffice in their roms as it isn't available in the market, so the kitchen is great for removing that. Absolutely love it.

I myself am on enom's 2.14.1 and had no issues installing..
It very well could be a signing issue, I did not sign this so feel free to experiment if you familiar with signing and please post a link that works on cm 6.1

If you have not already heard Android Market has been updated with some major changes.....
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/1...id-market-apk-ripped-posted-for-all-to-enjoy/
You can grab the apk. here;
http://www.multiupload.com/B6Y171MCYU
or
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10303026/com.android.vending_2.2.6.apk
For rooted phones only. Tested and running perfect on eViL's Sense/DZ ROM only, reports of some wierdness on some other roms, check it out for yourself. Be sure to do a nadroid before tho just in case
The only downside is that the refund policy have changed, there is now a 15min refund window instead of 24hrs, apart from that the UI is beautiful. Just use a file explorer to install the apk. over your current version of Market, enjoy.
hmm i downloaded and tried open with linda and it keeps saying app was unable to install =/

My market is updating to new v3 of the market and crashes within 10 seconds after starting..
I have tried a few things but no good. I like the new market but I cannot run it. I have to uninstall updates and use old market, which runs stable.
Any Help will be appreciated
Using HTC Desire Z rooted with CM7.
So the new market 3.1.3 right? If so, I was having the same issue. What I did is keep the market you were previously using, 3.1.0 I believe. Then download the APk for the new version and install it. It will ask to replace the current version. Click yes. This worked for me and now I'm having no issues.
Correction market 3.0.27 is the one I was using before the new one 3.1.3.
tried installing from the apk , tried learing cache and data, tried rebooting a no. of times.. nothing working. It keeps crashing..
any1 else here knows a solution ??
n btw my market version is currently 2.3.3 which runs fine.. i cant update to any newer version .. :s
Man i have this problem too!
So i went back to 2.3.3
Juat wait until the rom your using gets updated so it has the new market

err.. don't mean to sound stupind but from where is the "languages Menu" ??? i can't find it anywhere in the old market :s
It's in your system menu. Seems to have worked for me too.
Thanx a lot guys!!
Its kinda weird how u can fix a market crashing problem by changing the language in system settings. btw my language was set to hd(unitesd states) changed it to English. Market is working fine now.
A great community and really helpful people! cheers!

As soon as I enter the newly installed market, I get a blank background for a couple of seconds and it directly crashes saying that the application stopped unexpectedly.
I am using XDAndroid (Froyo FRX07 on my Blackstone).
I don't think I can reach the menu?!?!?
The only problem I got, it won't always download..
first I had stock rom Desire HD with the new Market.. sometimes I couldn't install someting... and now I got the Android Revolution Rom HD 6.1.0 with the new market, same problem..
So I guess it''s the market problem, not our phone problem
Re-selecting language worked for me also.
Thanks!
THANKS! Re-selecting the language trick worked for me too!

this is a bug almost everyone has .. why isn't any1 fixing this :s ??

Uuhm.. okay.. what about flashing another kernel ?
-I also have samsung galaxy wonder, flashing the kernel help that phone camera getting better, and the picture from my attachment was taken by that wonder-
In your Opinion -- is this camera problem caused by ROM, Kernel or Hardware Fault?
-See My Attachment, I did so many restart, but the camera still not work, is it hardware fault? maybe type of the battery is fixed battery ? -

It could also be a corrupted jpg file in your pictures folder. Try copying them all off onto your computer and clearing out the folder on your phone.
...or just install 3rd party camera apk from play store and that's it...
Not to mention, root your phone, choose rom and you'll have "a device", not just boring hov...

It 'may or may not,or void some parts of your warranty'in terms of HTC.if you flash a custom Rom,cam will surely work, but in jb ROMs,the resolution is not 5mp and its a little buggy.

Don't hurry.take time.or you may do irreparable damage to your phone.when you're satisfied and confident, then only root.
I am currently using my sense rc2.0(full sense) Rom by the great dev ckpv5,I find it a very neat Rom.
but again, its upto you which Rom and kernel suits you best, whether you want a daily driver,or for fun or pure smoothness and responsiveness, speed and agility.
I cannot recommend you a Rom as I'm unfamiliar with your needs and usage.my use is moderate, some time on xda, calls, messages, little gaming, etc.I find my sense Rom very suitable for this type of use...
