[Q] Sprint Galaxy Nexus Rooting and Roms - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

okay so im getting the sprint galaxy nexus soon and i just want to clarify a few things first off being rooting.
Rooting:
can you root the sprint galaxy nexus with (Galaxy Nexus Tool-Kit 5.7) and treat it as the CDMA/LTE model. in my mind it seems like this would work because it is a cdma/lte model but i just want to clarify that so i dont brick it.
Roms:
from my understanding the verizon roms cant be flashed on the sprint version because it will cause it to not beable to make calls is this accurate and if so i really think XDA needs to add a third development section for sprint so everyone doesnt become confused as i am already and i have a decent understanding of these things as i have had the evo and evo3d and rooted both with no problems
please xda make a third development section for the sprint GNEX

WARNING
DO NOT FLASH THIS ON A T-MOBILE SAMSUNG GALAXY S2!!!!!
I just wanted to bring it to the attention of the devs here so they can get to work.
Thanks for the link but our SGS2 has a different chipset. Does this even apply to us?
Thanks for this. I will check it out when I get back home today from school.

I hope allgamer locks/moves this thread. This is NOTHING to do with the t989. last I check this was the general section of the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989 forum. DEvs know that these roms exsist
there are lots of ICS ports for the i9100 over at the SGS2 i9100 DEV section, we all know about that, there's no need to confuse people with this

[Q] US GSM Galaxy Nexus Rom Question

Hey everyone, I just bought a new Galaxy Nexus. It's the US GSM Galaxy Nexus from Google Play. I'm wondering whats the difference from the International version. I want to root my phone and install roms on it, so should I use the root methods and roms for the International version or is it different. Thanks!

The hardware is identical. The only difference is that it is running takju, which is basically just yakju with Wallet pre-installed.
Its the same hardware. Just follow the GSM guides and you're good to go!

Thanks! I'm about to root it. I wanted to be sure so I don't end up with a shiny brick.
Just stay away from the Verizon/Sprint forums.

Don't worry. I already knew *for sure* to stay out of the Sprint and Verizon forums.
The only difference is that Play Store Nexus users have been reporting that their device does not wipe when they unlock the bootloader. We haven't been able to pinpoint what is causing that difference. Other than that, exactly the same.

Rooting GSM Nexus on WINDOWS

Hey all,
Just bought a brand new Nexus today which I updated to Jelly Bean. Probably the best Android phone EVER! I am coming from Galaxy ACE forums, I also own ACE 2. Things for those two phones are pretty specific...only one way to root your phone. Here I find so many guides that I really don't know what to choose. So can someone specify the safest way for rooting GSM version on Windows? Thanks! :good:

Root an rooted non rooted Galaxy S2

I rooted my Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 2 with:
Agat_GB27_v1.3.0
It didnt actually root my phone.
Is this because the new Jelly bean is 4.1.2 GB28 and what i downloaded is presumably GB27? If so, whats the cure? Does anyone know of a newer root solution? Maybe Framaroot?
I just dont want to try it without a bit of guidance since im not exactly at stock settings and when i tried to install stock kernel, it didnt work, so its hard to start from ground zero from my noobie stand-point.
Ask the mods to move this to your device's forum.

Sight for sore eyes: D710 is "Samsung Epic 4G Touch" and I confirmed minutes ago that there IS a forum for it.

Lol, everyone that still posts threads in this forum for the SGS2 should receive a 1 day temp ban for not reading the #1 sticky. So many wrong device threads over the last few months.

[Q] Root & Install CM 10.2+ (Stable Only) Help, Please

I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S3 LTE (SGH-T999L) with 4.3 installed. While I love Android, I really do. The 4.3 update from Samsung & Tmo really is just gods awful. My battery life is 10x worse.
I'm looking for rooting instructions and curious if they are different by much from rooting the at&t s3 (I747) device?
Also, is CM 10.2 supporting wifi-calling? Not that it's really important with the lack of minutes I use a month, just want to make sure it's maybe an option still?
And, please... don't aim for the face, if someone decides to flame me due to my post.
Thanks!
