I wanna know why Devs. Criticize new devs. Creations and say all you did was build from a stock rom. That's all any dev does. No dev has actually made a rom without using the epics base except for maybe CM team. All devs do is build from stocks and add features that we can download ourselves. I'm not dissing any devs. I'm just saying stop criticizing new devs. And respect their effort. You have to start small to become big.

I got mine ready!
Its not all new devs that are criticized. What you and your team need to do is make a rom with something that is not just the exact same thing as stock with a theme and beats flashed. You need some kind of interesting features rather than just doing stock and adding a few flashable zips like beats in. Maybe you need some themers and other developers to provide features and an experience that is not already on the epic. Again, you also need to give credit in the op. Just take a bit more time on the next rom and provide something unique and everyone will get off your back. Please dont take this post the wrong way. I dont mean anything rude.

Because your grammar and punctuation suck.
Whoa! Darkman be on a roll today! Tell us again what you think about Apple?
And to Androp; you know from my posts that I am a peace-loving non-confrontational kind of guy, but your efforts so far leave people feeling uneasy. Go to the mods, get set up properly, have testers try out your work, and then post. Like Xboxfanj said, if you offer something unique or different, you will get a much better reaction. "If you build it, they will come". I think if you look through our history, you will find OG Epic to be the greatest community on XDA. And as Marcusant, Kenny and I have stated, we have standards, and we are all about following protocol.

The word developer is loosely used. Changing around some preloaded apps, adding a 3rd party launcher and tweaks someone else coded, and a new theme does not make someone a developer. Maybe a modder at best.
Show me the code you hacked. Put it up on github for anyone to inspect.
There are actually only a few real developers around here. Then we also have plenty of "developers" who just compile other people's work without actually contributing any new code. I appreciate their work, but they are not developers.

My roms do not have features you can just add yourself...... I wrote some of the speed tweaks myself. I also modded certain parts of the framework (smali, etc.). I went through and optimized every single apk and modified some libs for speed... The reason that people did not like your work was that you gave absolutely no credit and STOLE my work and renamed it for wakerom. This is not accepted here... if you came with a legitimate ROM, people would not argue.... I also code my own kernel (see my github) . My first ROM (the old marcusantrom I believe) had framework mods and actually ported some things from the nexus and added Res mods myself and made my own theme.. I always attempt to keep a good OP structure and grammar (point out mistakes if you want to). Also, after putting out a ROM, make sure you know everything about it (have your developer post the ROM).
Heck, I didn't even consider myself a developer until I did my kernel and I still did more than your 'team'.
Example of development:
github.com/marcusant
github.com/aprosamurai
github.com/bbelos
github.com/toadlife
github.com/cyanogenmod

I was wondering why our amazing developers that I take work from criticize "development" with no effort or credit? All I did was add useless files that someone else pulled to a stock rom. That is what every developer that makes crappy touchwiz based ROM does (well, not really and they give credit). Only the Cyanogenmod team along with AOKP and related ROMs build from source. And only MIUI, CM, and AOKP don't use stock as a base. All we do is build from stocks and add features that we can download ourselves while the other developers actually take time and mod the framework and give credit. I'm not ccriticizing any devs. I'm just saying stop criticizing new devs. And respect their effort. You have to make effort in order to become big.

Wow...now IB4L!
This is true about Touchwiz. All the development has been done. And thankfully all the great devs that created or ported these mods posted the code to allow a modder like myself to incorporate all those mods (if you know how to find all the code, decompile and compile). This is called cooking a ROM and not developing in anyway. This is why Marcus is a recogniSed Developer and I am a recogniZed contributor. But as I told you in a bunch of PMs credit and thanks are most important info. If you truly knew what you wete doing you would have known what mods were in the ROM and who to credit and thank. There is still a demand for properly cooked TW ROMs as 2500 downloads tell me.
Sent from my PantechP4100 using xda premium
Really... again?
We implement mods to those games, but we studied the way of creating roms. Not every rom is gonna be perfect and not every rom is gonna work. That's why its called testing guess. Testing and feedback let's us know what we need to fix in our rom.

(Quote taken from the OP's now locked ROM thread)
If this ROM required as much testing and feedback as you allude to, then your thread title and OP should have stated that it was a work in progress/alpha/test. After reading both threads and now this one, I can honestly say I will not download nor flash a ROM by this team.
The person who is the face/mouth/typist for this modding group really needs to pass the reins to another person. Nearly every post thus far has been inaccurate at best, poorly written and reminiscent of a 12 year old on AOL back in the mid 90's.
The sad part is, none of what I typed above is an insult to said user, thus not breaking XDA rules. It's fact that has been posted on the forums these last two days.
Oh come on.. cant we have a peaceful Sunday ?

Here in XDA we do not encourage [BOUNTY] due past horrid experiences many people were victim off.
Thus in most other section of the forum [BOUNTY] are actually illegal to say the least.
However if the [BOUNTY] are for a good cause it'll be allowed under a few conditions.
- The [BOUNTY] is to be donated directly to the DEV
- The [BOUNTY] will only be donated when the DEV work is complete
- You are not allowed to make demands to the DEV
- You can't promote yourself for a [BOUNTY]
- The Dev's work must be creative/original development, not just ported-themes, modified stock ROMs or kanged ROMs
- Must be Recognized Developer or at least have a good well known reputation in XDA
There you have it.
You've been warned!
Don't come crying to us if you donated, but didn't receive any result from the DEV, a donation is just that, you're not paying for a product.
Let's raise money to get bubby323 a T-Mobile Galaxy S II to develop on.
So we can have ports like..
Cyanogenmod 7
Ice Cream Sandwhich
Sense
MIUI
So we can have various themes and mods like..
This unreleased crt off animation that restores the screen off animation to our SGSII. (created by bubby323)
...and various kernels and other things we can only imagine at this point.
Overclocking
Underclocking
Battery Saving Scripts
Dual Booting
Init.d Support
Custom Boot Animations
It's been proven successful for other developers looking to work on the T-Mobile Galaxy S II, so why not bubby? Not to mention his name is bubbbbbbbeh!
If you are so kind as to want to donate all you have to do is click on NyanCat above.
Please DO NOT try to flash the Crt Off Animation on a non-deodexed rom. If you haven't flashed a rom yet, you need to do so before flashing that mod.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu4kShJSH0M
Thanks for this, I wasn't expecting you to actually post it when you said that you were wanting too. :3
But if I do somehow raise enough money to go buy the T-Mobile Galaxy S II I will do my very best to promise you everything that Sammydr10 posted above.
I already have a working overclock and undervolt, and a team put in place for Cyanogemod. My kernel hacking is almost complete and when the correct source with the right drivers is released I will release it.
What am I working on tonight?

Alright, so I saw this guide for CM7 that basically has a tutorial on how to make an all-in-one zip for an ICS look.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363239
(Obviously we don't need the ring lock, since we already have that on CM7 for us)
So I was curious if anyone would be willing to compile a .zip together for our phones that contains all the ICS Stuff (layout, transition, boot animation, etc)
I'd do it myself, however I don't have availability to a Windows computer.
Thanks

Excuse me? I've helped many people across more forums than just this one. I've spent time online, over text, on the phone, and in person helping people with issues and questions. I've helped with development in the past with noobnl and other devs (though I have what I would consider 0 skill when compared to them) and have helped in beta testing and bug reporting for various things. I've also done rom development and kept up a stable and regularly updated rom and theme for previous android devices I've owned. I even help with questions, concerns, and live walkthroughs for other devices I don't even own. I start **** with no one. I hardly ask questions as I find what I need for myself or figure out most of my issues on my own. So excuse me buddy if I decided to post a (imo) humorical response expressing my appeal towards the suggestion of the OP. Say... what have you contributed?

As a senior member here I just want to state I think it's retarded to have 2 seperate development forums for one device. I don't even know how long this forum existed here until the other day someone mentioned something was in the original dev section.
If there were a vote I would vote to just have a single common development forum.
I agree

I second your opinion; it causes confusion having 2 separate sub-forums for development on one device.
Agreed. How you can have cm10/rujelus/venum/etc roms in the other section while cm9/jb aosp and calk's roms is here in original development is beyond me.
Edit: Even the OG Epic forums have only 1 dev section. I don't see the standardization here.

While I would normally agree with you, I also think that this section is pointless. I could MAYBE see if they wanted to seperate kernels from the dev section so that they were easier to find MAYBE....but yeah this seems like pointless clutter.
I think AOSP roms should be in a different group from TW and themed roms. I like the idea of it but obviously this is currently sorta quirky. Just my 2 cents.

it took me a week and several pages of scrolling in the xda app to have finally realized cm9 was moved over to this newly created forum, i think if this would have been here from the start then it wouldn't be so irritating but this sub forum feels like its only been here about a week or 2, and as a non-developer but xda enthusiast i just don't know how to differentiate original and android development?? should mui be in here too since its an original of its type? why isnt cm10 in here but cm9 is? i dunno, personally i liked it all under 1 subforum where F5 is my friend, i lurk the roms i like....just my opinion, mods can do whatever they like with my thread, lock it, delete it, warn me, whatever, i was just voicing my opinion in the section it was related (albeit its not a rom i developed, this is just a thread i developed lol), eitherway i'm always greatful for xda and all the talented developers here, since you stopped by my thread chris41g, i'd like to thank you as one of the top 10 devs for our device, we wouldn't be at this stage of customization for this model phone if it weren't for your help.

If I had my way, there would be subforums:

2. Roms based off stock/TW (Developed soley for the E4GT)
4. Kernels/Recovery/Modems
5. Themes/Apps/Stand-alone mods

so are ya here to put in your opinion, or just complain about posters? you have attitude problems man, dont post if al your gunna do is come at people/
anyways, i could see the point of two separate forums if it had some uniformity. doesnt make sense to put cm9 in one, and cm10 in another. just confuses people when both roms should be in original
and you can argue with allot of roms on where to put them. like aokp for example, it should go in original, but since its built from cyanogenmod you can argue that it should go in the other one.
but you can also argue that us senior member are just cranky because stuff is changing, like all senior facebook users are when facebook changes profile layout, or timeline, or whatever they call it now
im also a senior member and I think the idea was separate the tw roms/kernel from the non tw but that jelly bean rom is still there
Given my senior member status
.
If ppl use search more often you may find wat your looking for! This extra thread in a development section is stupid!

All this 'Rule #1 - no ETA' crap is just rude, especially when the OP for CM10 on this very device mentions NOTHING of not asking for ETAs
It was mentioned on several places/threads here in xda.

I don't really think you're getting the point. Developers of course like it when people like their rom. But the problem with CM is that it's such a popular rom and big community that ETA questions keep popping up everywhere. Furthermore, people -not saying it's you, but there are lots of them- start getting annoyed when something's delayed. And that's quite annoying...
Anyway, I would recommend checking CM on Google+ for all the latest progression updates. It's coming along nicely, but will definitely take another xxx days...

Guys, I don't see anything wrong with a quick 'how long normally until xxxx?' It only takes a quick answer based on previous releases, e.g. 'They normally surface xxx days after the source is out'
All this 'Rule #1 - no ETA' crap is just rude, especially when the OP for CM10 on this very device mentions NOTHING of not asking for ETAs

You keep posting this crap in all these eta threads and it's getting you absolutely nowhere. There is a flow with just about any rom: don't ask for an eta. Etas have caused so many thread to turn into pure hate when the dev misses the eta.
For any thread asking about any timeline for when a certain feature will be included/ready: it will be ready when it's ready and not a second sooner.

There are some other 4.2 roms out there that are pretty good and full of features. Try them out while you waiting for CM

ROM contains banking trojan called Zitmo. Here's screenshot of Malwarebytes scan http://i.imgur.com/NWLVeN4.png
I know it's hard to tell from the screenshot but nothing is preventing you to install Malwarebytes and confirm it yourself!

I've reported his thread to admins, they are investigating it still. I got confirmations from other members that they detect trojans. WTF is going on, are we going to ignore this? Even ROM builder confirmed it and said it's "normal'. Am I going crazy here?!
"In the background, it listens to all incoming SMS messages and forwards them to a remote web server. It’s simple, but just enough for the ZeuS gang to grab your banking mTANs…"
It is so hard to trust people these days...

I've got comfirmation from multiple users on that thread and nobody is reacting. Mods were notified more than 10 days ago, no response.

THX i wasn't using this Rom anyway. I was just a little bit confused 'cause i never thought a dev would do that.

this is the worst news i ever heard, i just installed this rom yesterday and i really loved it .. it is very smooth and the best rom i ever used from 10 roms until now, i can't believe that in day that i found something good like this rom, the rom having virus!! what a chance! can any one report this to the dev ?!?
I've reported thread and got comfirmation of XDA mods that they are investigating, but that was a month ago. I don't understand what is going on.

Ok, so no response from the mods whatsoever. This can mean two things, either mod ia extremely lazy person who doesn't give a **** or mod is somehow benefiting from this rom. Either way, we urgently need to ecalate this to higher mods. It is not normal to have trojan in ROM. Does anyone know mods from whole XDA, not just xperia onea?

Just stay away from stock-based ROMs that don't add anything of value and include apps that you could install yourself. I think the creator of that ROM isn't even aware of the Trojan but is just throwing some files in his ROM that are actually bloat. Just use stock, maybe a deodexed version, and with root access you can include any mod you want. Or use a more trustworthy stock-based ROM, like eXistenZ.
I don't want to personally attack this guy, but come on take a look at the OP of that ROM. The PayPal link is huge, so he's already fishing for donations. There are a lot of exaggerations in the first lines already (the word "very" is used 6 times in one line). And whenever someone calls his product "simply the best than ever" you should know that it isn't. Those are just big words.
So yeah you could report the thread.. Or you could use your common sense and avoid it.

I think what the op has done (report it/warn other users) is spot on.
I mean how are people, especially newcomers, to know what to avoid if other members of the community aren't looking out for each other?
Flashing ROMs, apps, mods etc on rooted/Xposed framework vulnerable devices is dodgy enough, but if xda members spot exploits and just ignore/avoid them? Wtf?

I meant no offense to the OP of this thread, I was just avoiding to use name of the author of the LeopardX ROM. He's right to report this and I'm just saying that people should stay away from ROMs like this.

First I thought this was a false alarm but upon reading all the posts, I guess I'll flash a new ROM for the time being.
