[REQ][CM7] All-In-One ICS look? - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright, so I saw this guide for CM7 that basically has a tutorial on how to make an all-in-one zip for an ICS look.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363239
(Obviously we don't need the ring lock, since we already have that on CM7 for us)
So I was curious if anyone would be willing to compile a .zip together for our phones that contains all the ICS Stuff (layout, transition, boot animation, etc)
I'd do it myself, however I don't have availability to a Windows computer.
Thanks

Excuse me? I've helped many people across more forums than just this one. I've spent time online, over text, on the phone, and in person helping people with issues and questions. I've helped with development in the past with noobnl and other devs (though I have what I would consider 0 skill when compared to them) and have helped in beta testing and bug reporting for various things. I've also done rom development and kept up a stable and regularly updated rom and theme for previous android devices I've owned. I even help with questions, concerns, and live walkthroughs for other devices I don't even own. I start **** with no one. I hardly ask questions as I find what I need for myself or figure out most of my issues on my own. So excuse me buddy if I decided to post a (imo) humorical response expressing my appeal towards the suggestion of the OP. Say... what have you contributed?

So no one wants to do this?

I don't really have the time or knowledge to do this but I wanted to let you guys know that AChep's ICS status bar mod works great on our phones

Well between themes, widgetlocker, and the new nightly with the ics transitions and rotations we have most of this excluding I guess the layout?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

i made one. but without boot anim, sound, font.
Just layout, transition, lock mod. In my signature

I have all but the layout...
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

This would be handy to have..
I have sort of manually done much of that with a cm7 theme chooser theme, ics adw theme, ring lock on holo/simple. Looks pretty good.. is there additional theme components from the "layout" you guys are refering to?

Yea I bet if u built a more "masculine" theme as it seems these forums are predominantly male members with as much detail as that u would b a hero lol.. hopefully more females root their phones and install your theme not to be sexist or what not but I feel that theme would make my fiance happy if she had this phone and other females as well

have you considered making this into a metamorph? it would enable it to be used on just about any AOSP based ROM and allow you to update from newer version of the ROM and add your theme almost instantly.

kyanROM 15 Toggle/Battery Mod

I know everyone is looking for a kyanROM themed 15 toggle that works with quick panel (including myself) so here it is. I didnt do much as the original toggles were developed by wanam/lindroid and the circle battery was originally done by robsonr... So what exactly did I do? Not alot haha. I just themed the toggles for this ROM as they were all GB green, now they are color matched to kyanROM. Some of the toggles were backwards and lit up when off and turned off when on (fixed) also I thought the originals were a bit on the large side so Ive reduced the overall size of the toggles. There was also a problem with a few of the battery %'s reverting to the original icons instead of the circle battery (fixed). So as you can see I mostly put together 2 great mods for a great ROM with a just a touch of my own work.
Also I originally did this for myself (until I saw how many people were requesting this) so I dont have the battery and toggles seperate. I will be seperating these two in case you want one or the other... I figured for now if you really want the working toggles you can live with the circle battery. Ive gone through this and all should be well but as you know the more people that use it the more we find out... If you find something not working right let me know ill fix it ASAP.
Final thought... I think the overall size of the status bar icons is a little large also so ill be slimming those down next go around to
Installation instructions:
‣Download files
‣Place them in internal sd.
‣Flash the file in CWM.
‣Reboot.

mmm there are 2 threads opened up in development like this. i see it is useful but honestly couldn't this be in themes.apps sections or in kyan's forum itself. i mean no rudness here but less clutter = less mess for mods to deal with.
Your correct... I debated where this should go and maybe themes or Kyans forum would have been better. No offense taken, I'm new here, reading and feedback is how I learn. If the mods would be kind enough to move it I'll be just fine with that

What Rom/Launcher is this Guy Using?

As the title states, what Rom/Launcher is this guy in the video using? The video is interesting iOS6 vs. Android arguement, but I'm not trying to start a debate here. Skip to 1:08 for the good stuff.

settle down there, champ. honest mistake on my part. MODs feel free to move or close if you feel this is "inappropriate"
sifted through about 5 pages of comments with others asking the same question but no replies
It's in the notes. Dark pie. It's just some images used with certain apps to create that look.

I actually ran into the video last night as well and decided it a go. As mikeyinid said, it is simply a clever use of nova launcher, widget locker and some custom wallpapers. Armando gives a great walk-through on how to do this but the problem i ran into was the fact that this was built for a gnex, which has a nav bar. I realize we can enable ours as well (in AOSP ROMs) but I personally don't like the look of it. Without the nav bar, it causes the wallpapers and icons to become misaligned with the intended layout, so I decided to bail
Nevertheless, a very interesting setup. I recommend anyone who uses an AOSP ROM w/ a Nav Bar to give this theme a go. Be warned, there is quite a bit a setup time but should be well worth it in the end
I actually like the ui looks

Actually is easy since he gives all the backup files and you restore them with nova, I was going to keep it but the problem is the apps icons are too small, since you need to have 6 by 6 to run the on the launcher it doesn't work good for me, I use 6 by 4 on nova
This work better for me

Calling all themers...

Now that sextape has released FJ10 for general consumption, is there any chance of seeing a flashable theme for FI27?
Touched by a Jelly Bean???
I would attempt this myself but I don't have any experience in theming and would love to see this happen.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Bump.
I see a couple thanks, I know I'm not the only one that would like to see this. Come on people, you know you want this.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I'd like to see a lot more theming in general for Touchwiz based roms. I know not everyone and their mother are using calkulin's or blazer's rom now, so a theme for 1 rom isnt exactly going to be very usable for everyone but, in my opinion some of these well performing roms very much need a visual uplift.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
There are tons of themes... The only problem is they are only being added to specific ROMs. If those themes were made into flashable zips it would be a different story.
Look at ANY other device on XDA, those themes are all flashable zips. Then look at the E4GT, all of our themes are baked into the ROM itself. No one wants to download 250 - 500 megabytes just for a theme.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Agreed with this thread completely. This its the only device I've seen where all the themes are released as rooms. I think party of that is because we've had so many leaked builds, and it takes a lot of work to keep updating the themes to work with the new leaks.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Doesn't the newest leak look really Sprinty? Haven't flashed it yet, but I opened it up and it looked like any other sprint release. No?
Just wondering what type of theme would come out of it
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
But sure about looking sprinty, I think it just looks a lot like the GS3.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
You'd just need to pull all the pngs from.fj10 and replace the ones in fi27 with them. Mostly just time consuming since nothing would need to be resized.

It will take a lil while cuz you may need to rename them before replacing and it's a huge pain in the ass keeping them all organized before them implantation. I did this once on the evo from an ics sdk dump and it took my about 3 weeks and I didn't manage to get everything. I ended up missing some little stuff that left the theme with ugly green icons in places. It wasn't hard just labor intensive and sloooooow going.
Yeah. I did it once for the cricket Zio. I managed to get a very rough ICS look on a Froyo ROM. It took me a few days and that was just replacing the pngs in the framework. I honestly don't even remember if I did any other apps.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I feel the same way. back when the phone just came out and we were all on GB there were a lot of themes. like you said i think all of the leaks really killed it because noone wanted to constantly update. it would be nice to see a few nice base roms for fi-27 and then some great themes form them. then there can just be some flashable zips for things you might want that the base rom doesnt have. heres hoping.

[APP][WINDOWS] Android Rom Migrator

I have created a windows app that will port roms somewhat automatically.
Please keep bases the same.

There is still some user input required so it is advised that you know your way around the android OS.
This program REQUIRES that you have the Java JDK and JRE installed.
Having adb installed is not a requirement, but some options in this program utilize it.
This is my first development project so bare with me.

It's cool that you made this but I have to admit, I am a bit confused...
Your title calls it a Rom Migrator, which I took to mean that it can help someone jump between roms by making it easy to restore apps, settings, etc.
But your op says it will port roms, which says to me that you can take a Sprint or AT&T Rom, and using this, port it to our T999 fairly easily.
Either way, I can see it as being useful to different groups of people, but perhaps it's not getting much response due to similar confusion.
You may also consider a quick step by step guide in one of your reserved posts. Nothing fancy, but a quick how-to can go a good ways toward making folks more comfortable with trying something new.
Hope that helps, and thanks for sharing your work!

If this app ports as it says it does then I guess there would be no problem porting from other S3 variants.... I assume this tool, will auto swap out drivers and set partition parameters that are compatible with T-Mobile S3.... If it can't do that then the next best thing would be that it uses a compatible base and add the rest of features similar to how Aroma works..... If none of the above, this probably doesn't do what it says and might brick your phone.....
I've used this a couple times it works, somewhat i.hade manually switch out a fre things in the actual final port ROM but other wise it's good
