ROM contains banking trojan called Zitmo. Here's screenshot of Malwarebytes scan http://i.imgur.com/NWLVeN4.png
I know it's hard to tell from the screenshot but nothing is preventing you to install Malwarebytes and confirm it yourself!

I've reported his thread to admins, they are investigating it still. I got confirmations from other members that they detect trojans. WTF is going on, are we going to ignore this? Even ROM builder confirmed it and said it's "normal'. Am I going crazy here?!
"In the background, it listens to all incoming SMS messages and forwards them to a remote web server. It’s simple, but just enough for the ZeuS gang to grab your banking mTANs…"

i have tried using an antivirus to remove them but they still remain
I also tried to reinstall the rom, just to check I didnt do anything wrong on my side.
The ROM definitley contains a trojan.

Just one simple question. Does this problem also exists in 4.7 or is it just 4.6?
UPDATE
I`ve just read the thread with 4.7 and the problem does still exists.

THX i wasn't using this Rom anyway. I was just a little bit confused 'cause i never thought a dev would do that.

this is the worst news i ever heard, i just installed this rom yesterday and i really loved it .. it is very smooth and the best rom i ever used from 10 roms until now, i can't believe that in day that i found something good like this rom, the rom having virus!! what a chance! can any one report this to the dev ?!?
I've reported thread and got comfirmation of XDA mods that they are investigating, but that was a month ago. I don't understand what is going on.
Sent from my LT26i using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Ok, so no response from the mods whatsoever. This can mean two things, either mod ia extremely lazy person who doesn't give a **** or mod is somehow benefiting from this rom. Either way, we urgently need to ecalate this to higher mods. It is not normal to have trojan in ROM. Does anyone know mods from whole XDA, not just xperia onea?
Sent from my LT26i using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Just stay away from stock-based ROMs that don't add anything of value and include apps that you could install yourself. I think the creator of that ROM isn't even aware of the Trojan but is just throwing some files in his ROM that are actually bloat. Just use stock, maybe a deodexed version, and with root access you can include any mod you want. Or use a more trustworthy stock-based ROM, like eXistenZ.
I don't want to personally attack this guy, but come on take a look at the OP of that ROM. The PayPal link is huge, so he's already fishing for donations. There are a lot of exaggerations in the first lines already (the word "very" is used 6 times in one line). And whenever someone calls his product "simply the best than ever" you should know that it isn't. Those are just big words.
So yeah you could report the thread.. Or you could use your common sense and avoid it.

I think what the op has done (report it/warn other users) is spot on.
I mean how are people, especially newcomers, to know what to avoid if other members of the community aren't looking out for each other?
Flashing ROMs, apps, mods etc on rooted/Xposed framework vulnerable devices is dodgy enough, but if xda members spot exploits and just ignore/avoid them? Wtf?

I meant no offense to the OP of this thread, I was just avoiding to use name of the author of the LeopardX ROM. He's right to report this and I'm just saying that people should stay away from ROMs like this.

First I thought this was a false alarm but upon reading all the posts, I guess I'll flash a new ROM for the time being.

I wanna know why Devs. Criticize new devs. Creations and say all you did was build from a stock rom. That's all any dev does. No dev has actually made a rom without using the epics base except for maybe CM team. All devs do is build from stocks and add features that we can download ourselves. I'm not dissing any devs. I'm just saying stop criticizing new devs. And respect their effort. You have to start small to become big.

I got mine ready!
Its not all new devs that are criticized. What you and your team need to do is make a rom with something that is not just the exact same thing as stock with a theme and beats flashed. You need some kind of interesting features rather than just doing stock and adding a few flashable zips like beats in. Maybe you need some themers and other developers to provide features and an experience that is not already on the epic. Again, you also need to give credit in the op. Just take a bit more time on the next rom and provide something unique and everyone will get off your back. Please dont take this post the wrong way. I dont mean anything rude.

Whoa! Darkman be on a roll today! Tell us again what you think about Apple?
And to Androp; you know from my posts that I am a peace-loving non-confrontational kind of guy, but your efforts so far leave people feeling uneasy. Go to the mods, get set up properly, have testers try out your work, and then post. Like Xboxfanj said, if you offer something unique or different, you will get a much better reaction. "If you build it, they will come". I think if you look through our history, you will find OG Epic to be the greatest community on XDA. And as Marcusant, Kenny and I have stated, we have standards, and we are all about following protocol.

The word developer is loosely used. Changing around some preloaded apps, adding a 3rd party launcher and tweaks someone else coded, and a new theme does not make someone a developer. Maybe a modder at best.
Show me the code you hacked. Put it up on github for anyone to inspect.
There are actually only a few real developers around here. Then we also have plenty of "developers" who just compile other people's work without actually contributing any new code. I appreciate their work, but they are not developers.

My roms do not have features you can just add yourself...... I wrote some of the speed tweaks myself. I also modded certain parts of the framework (smali, etc.). I went through and optimized every single apk and modified some libs for speed... The reason that people did not like your work was that you gave absolutely no credit and STOLE my work and renamed it for wakerom. This is not accepted here... if you came with a legitimate ROM, people would not argue.... I also code my own kernel (see my github) . My first ROM (the old marcusantrom I believe) had framework mods and actually ported some things from the nexus and added Res mods myself and made my own theme.. I always attempt to keep a good OP structure and grammar (point out mistakes if you want to). Also, after putting out a ROM, make sure you know everything about it (have your developer post the ROM).
Heck, I didn't even consider myself a developer until I did my kernel and I still did more than your 'team'.
Example of development:
github.com/marcusant
github.com/aprosamurai
github.com/bbelos
github.com/toadlife
github.com/cyanogenmod

I was wondering why our amazing developers that I take work from criticize "development" with no effort or credit? All I did was add useless files that someone else pulled to a stock rom. That is what every developer that makes crappy touchwiz based ROM does (well, not really and they give credit). Only the Cyanogenmod team along with AOKP and related ROMs build from source. And only MIUI, CM, and AOKP don't use stock as a base. All we do is build from stocks and add features that we can download ourselves while the other developers actually take time and mod the framework and give credit. I'm not ccriticizing any devs. I'm just saying stop criticizing new devs. And respect their effort. You have to make effort in order to become big.

Wow...now IB4L!
This is true about Touchwiz. All the development has been done. And thankfully all the great devs that created or ported these mods posted the code to allow a modder like myself to incorporate all those mods (if you know how to find all the code, decompile and compile). This is called cooking a ROM and not developing in anyway. This is why Marcus is a recogniSed Developer and I am a recogniZed contributor. But as I told you in a bunch of PMs credit and thanks are most important info. If you truly knew what you wete doing you would have known what mods were in the ROM and who to credit and thank. There is still a demand for properly cooked TW ROMs as 2500 downloads tell me.
Sent from my PantechP4100 using xda premium
Really... again?
We implement mods to those games, but we studied the way of creating roms. Not every rom is gonna be perfect and not every rom is gonna work. That's why its called testing guess. Testing and feedback let's us know what we need to fix in our rom.

(Quote taken from the OP's now locked ROM thread)
If this ROM required as much testing and feedback as you allude to, then your thread title and OP should have stated that it was a work in progress/alpha/test. After reading both threads and now this one, I can honestly say I will not download nor flash a ROM by this team.
The person who is the face/mouth/typist for this modding group really needs to pass the reins to another person. Nearly every post thus far has been inaccurate at best, poorly written and reminiscent of a 12 year old on AOL back in the mid 90's.
The sad part is, none of what I typed above is an insult to said user, thus not breaking XDA rules. It's fact that has been posted on the forums these last two days.
Oh come on.. cant we have a peaceful Sunday ?
one of my friends is a genius in programming specially in android program developing .he is working in a big software and mobile phone software developing company .
yesterday he told me I should never use custom roms .
he and his group found some programming lines in some custom roms that change custom rom to a spy rom
these roms send alot of information for a custom rom owner like your passwords ,bank account and lots of other information.
he gave me a printed paper of programming lines .If anyone interested let me know .
We are all interested! What rom?
Yeah, you need to name the ROM and present proof if you're going to post something like this.
I cant tell you witch rom is spy rom because I am not allowed to do that but If you understand programming I can send you a copy of programming lines that developers put them in roms for spy purpose
i think this is the work of the illuminati
That is a very heavy thing to say about someones work. Yet you can't say which rom?

This is akin to saying:
"you shouldn't install software because it could contain a virus. Here is an example of some code that could be used in a virus". Not really much help to anyone.
If you've got evidence that someone here is distributing malicious code, notify the mods and they'll have it removed (and notify the users of that software that they might be at risk). Otherwise I'm not sure what the point of this is.

No devs don't put out those type of roms because it would be a waste of time.. And it's something a general android user should be able to do themselves.
So just root your phone, download either system tuner or titanium back up from the app store, I would recommend system tuner because it backs up the app you uninstall right away so if you experience problems just restore it right away.
Also search for a safe list of bloat to remove its on here. That should take care of your request.

Thank you for giving a good answer to the gentleman asking.
I just wish people would answer the question of the OP and move on instead of going on and on about the OP being a troll or whatever. It doesn't matter if the OP is a troll or not.
Every night before I go to sleep I catch up on a bunch of threads here on XDA. And I find it sad that every time someone posts a stupid question or something everyone attacks them about how much of a troll they are. XDA is here for a purpose: to help and develop. Not flame other people for asking stupid questions. If someone should post a new thread with a question you feel is worthless, don't reply, just leave it or give an answer to the OP's question and move on without flaming. And that's where Mods come in. They will clean up as necessary. If a post is worthless, the Mods will clean it up. Don't reply to the thread saying Mods do this, do that. Obviously they know what they're doing so let them do their job.
If XDA worked like that, we would have a wonderful community full of people helping people without the unnecessary flaming which always carries on and on especially on development threads which can get very frustrating especially when sifting through threads for information.
Just a little bit of insight into what I think.

I just bought the Galaxy note 2 and want to root it.
More specifically when i had my HTC Touch Pro with windows mobile 6, i downloaded Roms with lots of apps pre loaded such as wifi tethering, games tweaks and feature re-enabling.
Now i have a Note 2, i want a ROM with the most tweaks and software installed on it, i do not care for the UI as i can learn however i liked the windowed UI of one of the roms on here which is more like a desktop computer.
So please could you recommend me a Rom with lots of extras and explain how i would root the phone as i have a very vague idea and would want confirmation.
As far as i know, you download the rom, save it to a SD card, then reboot the phone in recovery mode and this is where i get stuck as to what i would do next.
Also, if in the future i want to return to the stock rom, how would i go about doing this?

Yes both of them are talking to you.
Anyways, going back to topic. You should try out Android Revolution HD or Alliance ROM and then install Simplistic Framework which will enable you to further customize the UI such as the status bar, notification panel, etc. Then I would recommend installing Xposed Installer and xposed app setting app to change the dpi of any app or in general.
Honestly, I would personally go about by installing the lightest rom and then adding other features that I can keep track of and that I would need.

Most of the ROM sites tell you exactly what to do to install the ROm plus whatever else is needed...the sequence and steps are all there...just read! Hi.
I have a GS3 - ATT. I have the SynergyROM installed on it.
I read everyday on forums, that people that are coming from iPhones are experiencing lag, and problems with speed on their devices. I had the same with my GS3, but then I started working on settings of my phone.
In the moment, my phone is very fast. It's super stable, and has good battery life. So my question is. Is it possible for me to release the rom that I'm running, and if I do how would I do it? I don't mean on how to get the rom out to the public, I mean rights. I don't want to take credit for the rom, just for the modifications.
What exactly is the purpose of this thread????
Are you trying to advertise a ROM?
To who are you trying to advertise the ROM to?
If its not your own work please ask the correct person for permission to use his work with your mods.
If its just certain setting, than share your settings in that ROMs thread.
This is XDA home if many ROMs, people have plenty of ROMs to chose from.
And what works on your phone may not work for others.

Are you trying to advertise a ROM?
To who are you trying to advertise the ROM to?
This is XDA home if many ROMs, people have plenty of ROMs to chose from.
And what works on your phone may not work for others.

Contact the person who cooked that ROM and ask for permission first.
What mods are we talking about??
If its stuff you developed?
And if its just certain settings that are changed I don't think there is need for an extra ROM with just "tweaked settings"

I think it will be better just to release the App which will do the modifications. It will be easier for everyone, and for me.

There is an app to develop ROMs?
I don't think you understood him.
He's asking if he can release Synergy ROM with his mods to others.
You can develop an app to apply the mods
And if its mods you found here or developed by others
You also need to ask for permission as well.

The modification is made by me completely. The battery life is 10 hours with heavy use. I've installed around 30-apps, and there is no slow down so far.
App: Saver v1.1
I'm almost done with the app. I will release it on the forums. I've attached some photos, and a battery pic.
