Hey all,
The answer to my question (side note: Swype corrected question to erection) should be an easy one but I can't find my answer anywhere.
Is over clocking my s2 different than doing so on my single core mt4g? I was always under three impression that you could, for example, overclock one core and keep the other one at normal speeds. Was I wrong with this assumption?
At the moment I'm using Set CPU for my overclocking needs.
Thanks, guys!
SetCPU is simplified for most basic users, but yes u could OC one and underclock the other (on gb 2.3.5/6 of course). For such advanced config, I recommend Gideon's OC/UV script. Search for it and modify it to your needs

I have installed a light version of Revolution HD rom and am not overclocking past defaults.
I do however want to undervolt. ATM ive set screen off profile to max out at 600 - what can i do do undervolt?
Can i keep the rom but flash a different kernel? If so, which one?
The kernal that rom uses is already undervolted, so you dont really need to unless you want to try and squeeze it as absolutely low as your handset will allow.
i see - where do i find the exact details of this?
This is the thread for the kernal that Revolution HD uses.

thanks, but from what i understand the kernel isnt undervolted - its unvolted...
Hmm, i was under the impression that lower freqs were undervolted and as it approaches 1.2Ghz the voltage approaches the highest value of stock voltage.
even if this was so - i would see no benefit as i use stock max clocks
Hello everyone!
I will overclock my GPU. Somebody know how I can do this?
I have:
Xperia R800i
unlocked bootloader
root
Not very sure about what I'm about to say...
As far as I know you can't, the CPU and the GPU are on the same chip, so if you OC your CPU you're also OC'ing your GPU, BUT, there's also an app I haven't tried yet, I just read about it somewhere in this forums, if I'm not wrong its name is Voltage Control, it lets you tweak a lot of things about your CPU, GPU (what I read), voltages, schedulers, etc, just... be VERY careful.
Hope I was of help
Oh yeah I was forgetting something, you need to flash an alternative kernel to be able to overclock, by just having root access you will only able to underclock.
I recommend you the DooMLoRD's DooMKernel, look for it on the Development forum of the Xperia Play
jhonyrod,
I'm already have doomkernel v10 and OC CPU. (1.6GHz)
Thank you for information.

I'm about to install that app a was talking about, if you give me some time to look around I'll give you more info.
EDIT:
Ok, I installed the app, as far as I can see it has many other options but only for supported devices (the screenshots are actually showing a GPU tab), sadly, our R800 are not, it can only change the cpu governor, the I/O scheduler and the freqs... Maybe I was right since the beginning; CPU/GPU are on the same die, and when you OC your CPU you are OCing your GPU too, even though you can't see it, but in my experience (and benchmarking) it does.
Hello.
I have very specific problem when I'm trying to overclock.
If I overclock to 1.5GHz and run CPU StabilityTest it wil work OK. Tried for 12h and no problem.
But since I'm using Daemon Controller and CPU speed jumps to accomodate use I get bootloop.
I found that the problem is with 1.2GHz and 1.3GHz.
Is there any way to remove this specific CPU Speeds so it would never use them?
It would be great if that can be done because at 1.5GHz my phone works and fells much more responsive.
Thanks for any idea or solution you can think of. Or just point me in the right direction...
I don't think you can remove the oc speeds, and even if you did they would be replaced after a reboot.
You could try changing the voltages for the speeds giving you problems.

"Your Kernel Must Support Dynamic Voltage Control" says I think for Daemon Controller.
There is a file:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
where there are all available CPU freq and voltages.
So I think there should be some kind of solution to delete custom clock speeds.
Most complicated solution I can think of: I would edit kernel before flashing it.
Another question bugs me: what are default stock rom/kernel CPU freq and voltages. I searched this forum and found different information.
I would like to get (will try to get) in touch with some (any) kernel makers, since I am developer, so we "could talk same language."
If there is any chance any kernel maker reading this, please reply, I would donate some money through paypal and we could write a guide for others.
I just rooted my s3 and would like to overclock it a little. Just wondering what the best settings would be and if Set cpu is indeed the best app for this. Thanks in advance and I apologize in advance if I'm in the wrong section.
First you're going to need to flash a kernel that has overclocking capabilities. I highly recommend ktoonsez however if you are not familiar with extreme customization, then faux or lean kernel are better suggestions

I also suggest that whatever app you do use (I use SetCPU as well but they all generally work the same), DO NOT SET ON BOOT.
Since you aren't quite sure you know what you are doing yet, if you input a wrong value or your CPU can't handle "that high" an overclock or your CPU cannot handle "that low" of an undervolt and have it Set On Boot, you will be stuck and have to Nandroid back.
Once you know if certain values work for you, then use Set On Boot.
How can I overclock my GPU on One X? Also is their any kernel which supports overclocking(CPU)?
You can use an app called CPU Control for ROOT users. Search for it in the market.
As I know most of the kernels can be overclocked, some more than others. Search and you will find.

I know how to overclock but I couldnt find a kernel that supports overclocking. BTW my main concern was to overlcock GPU. CPU overclocking is secondry. If you find a kernel then tell me.
