Touch sensitive navigation buttons - HTC One X

This is probably me being really fussy, but the touch sensitive navigation buttons on my One X aren't as pearly white as the ones on my SGS i9000. They're sort of a white-greyish tone. Anyone else experience this, or have I got a bum set of buttons?

yes mine seems to be somewhat between lightblue and grey. On both my one x devices
no problem for me, i think thats not a bug, just normal

Yeah, that's how I'd describe it actually, bluey-greyish! Okay, cheers for clearing that up!

Yup...mine are also like that.

Stripes on the screen

Did anyone notice that the screen has these criss-crossing stripes on it? They're only visible at a certain angle against strong light source.
Not saying it's bad or anything, just wondering what it is and what it does.
i noticed this too, like you said against string light. be interesting to know its use..
It´s the capasitive sensing grid
yea thats just the way that the touchscreen works out where your finger(s) is/are. It was alot more visible on the G1.

Interesting, I've never seen it on my G1
Well cheers for explaining what it is...

[Q] Capacitive buttons ever so slightly dim?

Hi,
I've just got my One X and it's fantastic.
I've noticed that the capacitive buttons at the bottom are perhaps a little bit dim... in pictures they look solid bright white but mine have an almost purple sort of tint to them and don't seem incredibly bright.
I've got a Sensation too and I'd say that looks about the same as well.
I've just taken a picture of it and in that they appear solid white as well so I think there's a good chance they all look like this.
Anyone else noticed this? I think I'm just being fussy.

My light up. Good enough. I've never reflected over the brightness though. Just that they light up good enough for me to see em. But yes. Mine are a little "purpleish" aswell.
It's a little blue-ish indeed and they don't light up that much unless in a pretty dark space. I think this was mainly to not make them distractive.
Indeed, this is what I thought as the Sensation is exactly the same.
Cheers guys!
so interestingly enough, 2/3 of my capasitive buttons are working flawlessly, in terms of brightness. The multitask button (far right) is only lit at the bottom of the left corner of the bigger square.
This is why I wish the One Series (maybe minus the One V) all used SoftKeys like the GNexus
Yes I agree. It's pretty much the only niggle I have with my phone all icons are fully lit have a bluish tint and seem slightly dull

There are 3 different types of screens for the HoX. Some manufactured by sony, others by acer and the rest by sharp. Maybe that might be the case and there's no actual fix to that. Having experienced two type of screens.
I had the acer screen and my friend had either a sony or a sharp. We never checked, however, i can tell you that both were very nice.
While mine had whiter whites, his had much nicer, vibrant colors. Nothing to be butthurt over IMO.

Yellow Tint

Can anyone share with me what there screens are like. Mine appears decidedly yellow and im starting to worry that the screen is defective. My HTC One M7 has much bluer tones and I personally prefer it. My M8 just appears dirty!

Might be just me. Im really neurotic when it comes to my tech
I've also got this problem, it might not be that easy to see on the picture I've attached, but you can at least see that the colors are not the same. I've also tested the screen with an app called Screen test, and it seems to completely fail the Checker board test under Resolution and Horizontal resolution (1 pixel) makes the display flicker.

Yeah, but I'm not sure if it's due to the HTC Color Enhancement, or if the screen is bad. The stores says it's just a different color temperature on the screen.
The the light in the proximity sensors are IR captured by the camera, so I can't see it (except through another camera ofc)

Back button brighter than recent?

I have a Silver/White HTC 10 & noticed that the light for the back button is brighter than the recent button. They both turn on & dim when there is less ambient light, but the back button is always brighter. A friend's grey/black model has the buttons with the same intensity. Can someone with a white front HTC 10 confirm of the lights of back/recent buttons are the same or not? Preferably post a photo?
Attached are pictures of mine. In reality the difference is more, but it is not really that apparent in the picture.
I have the same issue
Hi!
May I ask how did you fix this issue? I have the same one.
Not fixed, just have to live with it. Apparently not many believe it is an issue.

Thank you for you response!
I made my piece with it too and I set the 'always on' option off.

I think I saw similar thread here a month ago. As I mentioned on that thread - it is normal and my current HTC 10 and other 2 phones have the same.
Actually, it is not normal as I have seen more phones with same brightness on both buttons than phones with different brightness. The problem is HTC not acknowledging it as an issue.
I'm not sure which color variants have a white face on it, but my US unlocked glacier silver variant has the same brightness intensity for the back and recent buttons.
I would definitely say this is not normal and is a quality control issue on HTC's part... Sorry I'm no help here, if it bothered me enough (and I am OCD about things like that) I'd keep contacting HTC over and over until I got someone who would get it fixed.
This is the first I've heard of but mine look the same (although I am now slightly paranoid they aren't). Looks to be a QC issue but I'm not sure what HTC would claim it is.
