Just wondering, out of curiosity - Has anyone seen another Galaxy Nexus?
I've never seen one (other than mine) and I'm quite surprised! I see loads of S IIs, random HTCs and quite a few Notes, but no Galaxy Nexus'!
No the device didn't get the shine the razor got.. But hey who won the war???
we did that's who!

Franco's Magic
Never seen a single one in the wild outside of employees at stores. About 2 months back I brought my GSM into a T-Mobile store and it was the first they had ever seen also.
I do spend most of my time on a college campus though, so it's mostly dominated with dumbphones, iPhones (TONS), and random high-end Androids (mostly SGSII).
Yes, I have seen a few. Mostly because I have a problem with "checking out" other peoples phones.
Saw another one briefly, owned by quite a geeky looking character.
3 people at my office have one that i know of
Yeah I have, a bunch of my friends have them.
met a girl at a random party with a gn and she mentioned that she waited months for it... shouldve married her

I have not seen a user with a GN, unfortunately. All I see is the White iPhone 4Stupid People.
But I have seen the Galaxy Nexus on display! Does that count? Lol
I was the first person at my work place to get one (on launch day of course) and about 7 other people have followed me so far.

I've seen a bunch of galaxy nexus(nexii?). There is a quite a bit of them around if you look carefully.

I haven't seen another Nexus around my area, however, I have seen a lot of SIIs. Girlfriend has a Sensation (She's happy with it). Beyond that, it's sadly mostly blackberries.
Haven't seen any in the wild.
I actually prefer it this way, I like having things other people don't.
Only one person has one that I've seen (happens to be a friend of mine) but a lot of people see mine and wish they had one too lol.. seen a few people at the train station with them too, usually older people on the way to and back from work. Makes me feel a little special and happy whenever I do notice other people with this beauty... funny cuz at least half the people I see use an iPhone how boring -.-

I have the only one I've seen in my area too. I bought mine from a dude on Craigslist and it took me 4 months to find one on there. Mines the GSM version. I've seen a few Verizons on Craigslist but no GSM.

I'm the only one I know in my friends who has a GNex. I've seen one person with it on the SkyTrain in Vancouver, and one of my girlfriend's friends has a Nexus S.

My wife told someone at work she was getting a new phone and someone asked, what are you getting an iPhone. She was like no way, my husband won't let me and says they suck. Then another person who has one was like, no it doesn't everyone has one...
Yup, there you go folks that proves it all! iPhones are awesome because everyone has one! I am glad we got that settled.
Anyway, she got the HTC Rezound for Verizon. Believe it or not the screen is actually pretty beautiful on that thing. That device is what the EVO 3D should have been.
I would also be curious to see how many E4GT's sold just for Sprint.

I was meant to post this a couple of days ago but I forgot. Has anyone else noticed in the last week or two, Galaxy Nexus ads have started showing on TV? Does anyone else find it strange they've only just started advertising it now, instead of November?
Seems they're starting to push it now, just as the next generation phones are being announced which seems a bit silly to me..
PS. Give us Google Wallet.

Not just P4U adverts. There were pure Google adverts that simply had the tagline 'Simple. Beautiful. Beyond smart.' - I saw a lot of these here in London.
Well you said yourself you were meant to say this before you actually said it!
If they would've had adverts during volume gate etc it would've done nothing positive, now is a good time, the next Gen phones are not in the shops and only phone geeks even know about them lol

I sold my Galaxy S2 yesterday so with the extra cash I acquired, I'm set on purchasing the Nexus since it always has insane developer support.
My only gripe is, I've been observing these forums for a while and I can't help but to see countless posts and many threads about problems with this phone.
I've read from phones boot-looping for no reason, screen issues, and other hardware defects that makes me wonder where Samsung's quality management has gone...
So I want to hear from you guys, have you had any problems/replacements/RMAs? I really want to get this phone but the problems are slowly wearing my wants.
Oh, and also it's extra hard since I won't be able to have warranty of some sort or have easy returns since my buying choices so far are amazon and ebay...
Forums are meant for people to discuss problems and complain.. I'm sure there are thousands of people who have no problems at all. People don't come to forums like this one to discuss how awesome their phone is. I have the GSM and my fiance has the verzion version and we haven't experienced many of the things discussed here.
Its the best phone on the market right now. Go get it!

Okay, well up until I got my Galaxy Note yesterday I thought this was the most beautiful screen I'd ever seen. Don't ever do a side-by-side to the Note because the awe will wear off very quickly. The Galaxy Nexus has very obvious banding at lower brightness levels although you won't really see any blobs. (I haven't anyway.) The lack of SD card won't immediately bother you but sooner or later it will cross your mind. The phone does have a tendency to occasionally and randomly reboot. I haven't had the issue in a couple weeks although before that it was happening at least once a day for a couple weeks. Some games on the Galaxy Nexus have multi touch issues. Screen-on time will be significantly shorter than that of the GS2. (About 4 hours is the max.) Other than that, I would still recommend it. I've never looked back after getting rid of my GS2 but I feel you should know the facts before making a decision and potentially being unhappy about it. If you have more questions, I'll be glad to answer if possible.

Well, just dont buy anything second hand. dont wanna land yourself a first batch gnex. the first batch are the ones with the most problems, especially the screen. the made in china ones are the newer batch and seem to have sorted out some screen problems. not everything made in china is bad these days lol.
anyways, had my phone for less than a month, and 85% of the time i spent flashing LOL. enjoy the nexus!

No Probs
I have the gnex and have to say that I have no complaints except for the radios and battery life on 4g. Call quality isnt as good as my old droidx, but the 4.0.4 radios seem to have helped a little.
Other than that i love this phone, I've thought about trading for a razr but I just cant bring myself to do it. There are not enough advantages of doing so. I have had no random reboots or other quirky issues.
Ok my honest opinion. Coming from the fact I feel 50/50 about it. I wouldn't of bought it if i'd had two weeks to test it.
Pros:
Screen is excellent
ICS looks nice
Sound quality through headphones is good
Sat Nav works well
Cons:
Loudspeaker is far too quiet
Back cover creaks and clicks like cheap junk
Vibrate is not powerful enough
Graphics in apps & games are a little slow and laggy
Camera is average at best.
Most of the plus points of the phone I would say are thanks to ICS, most of the cons of the device are hardware, in my opinion.

Not trying to be a fanboi here but there are some flaws with what you are saying.
I have had 3 different GNexus's and none of them have had this terrible banding issue that everyone is talking about. Maybe I am blind, maybe I am stupid, but this is just a non issue for me.
I have yet (In 4 months of owning the device) to have a problem with not having an SD Card. Not having to worry about an SD Card failing and me losing all my backups actually makes me feel better/safer.
Never had a random reboot trying almost all the ROMs and most kernels out there (Maybe just lucky?)
Multi touch issue is a problem that was fixed in 4.0.4 and can also be fixed in 4.0.3 by turning your screen off and on.
Bigger screen, more pixels, probably brighter, of course screen on time will be less.
This phone has some issues but what you point out here are minor (In my case) and just want to give the OP both sides of the story.
hello guys, this is my first post on the Gnexus side of xda. I'm debating about getting the nexus as my upgrade is here. however Ive heard its been plagued with battery issues, wifi issues that cause the system to lock up, and other radio issues with the 3g connections.
i would be coming from the original epic 4g. I guess the big question is, is the Gnexus worth the $200 upgrade or wait it out till some of the software issues and LTE is more available?
Where are you hearing these issues. I haven't seen any of those. I came from the epic 4g as well. I would say if you can't wait for the sgs3 the gnex is the only other option.
If you have the upgrade itch ... you won't be upset with your purchase. Its not weighed down by touchwiz. Its super slick even on stock. Its super easy to root. No more Odin scares. Tons of support. Its also a pretty decent pre forming phone. Its old hardware compared to the upcoming Evo and sgs3 but it sacrifices this for its openness. It makes more sense to have an open processor than have a closed one on such an open operating system.

Obviously you're going to hear about any phone having issues, especially one as popular and hyped up as the Galaxy Nexus. Personally, I've had next to no issues with mine. I ran stock for about two months then got into rooting.
Heres the thing: the Galaxy Nexus is about 6 months old (in the US) which in terms of phones is slightly aged. Don't get me wrong, the Nexus is an excellent, excellent phone and out of any phone currently out right now I still think the Nexus is the best when it comes to what I want in a phone. The Nexus was definitely worth the upgrade when I got it and I'm sure you would still be extremely happy with it if you chose to upgrade. What you have to remember though is that sometime this holiday season (about 6 months) there are probably going to be another batch of excellent phones being released.
You're in kind of a troubled spot, in my opinion, for looking at phones. You could get it now and it would be a great phone or you could wait for probably about 6 months and at least hope that something incredible will come out during the holiday season. Basically, it comes down to what you want. If you're really wanting the Nexus I don't doubt you'll love it and you should get it.
So i been a android user and for almost two years, my first phone was the Samsung moment on Sprint, rooted the phone still suck! Got me an evo 4g and was the best phone I ever had (came from bb and iPhone), alot people got to know the evo, but some people still asked me "is the a Droid?" verizon marketing did a lot for Android, move forward a few years anyone knows and iPhone or android, but no phone is famous at all, or at least that's what I thought, now I had my gs3 since launch day, and just in this past weeks, 5 people been able to recognize it, from walmart store, to grocery store and gas station (specially when you pay with nfc), so it looks like the galaxy s III brand is recognized and Samsung did a good job by putting the same phone on all carriers, makes me wonder has anyone else recognized your phone? And I'm not talking about tech people, just regular consumers?

Why do most people just call it "droid" or "android"? It sounds really silly if you ask me and it's all because of verizon's marketing.

90% of apple owners don't wanna hear about android. People buy iphones just because its an iPhone. Its like shoes, people buy nikes because they are nikes if you get a Nike and put the sketchers logo on it, no ones going to want it. Truth is gs3 kicks the iPhones asssss. I think the gs2 kicked the iPhones ass.

For years I was a huge Nokia N series fan and bought euro unlocked phones with symbian, so I have always gotten the ”what kind of phone is that?" question... Around the time the original tmobile mytouch I switch to android and haven't looked back since. Bought a gs3 about 2 weeks ago and for the first time it's not "what phone is that" but "how do like that phone... I want one real bad". Personally I love tmo and love my gs3. Now iphone I have never liked but I get why it's huge... Great for what most people do with their phone but iphone may have been out played by the gs3 and could lose a healthy share of their market. Just my 2¢ though...
