Soft keys on AOPK - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Ok so I am running AOPK with Aeroevan's kernal with the camera patch installed (just so you know my set up). I wanted to try and just use the onscreen buttons and not the soft keys. Is there anyway to turn them off from with in the ROM, or are they just always on? I looked through ROM control and the various places and either I'm missing it or its not an option. Just wanted to see if anyone else knew.

Try going to Display, Custom backlight settings, check Use Custom, Edit other levels and change everything under the "buttons" column to 0.

[HOW TO] Turn off softkey LED's in CyanogenMod

Just wondering if anyone has figured out how to turn off the LED's for the softkeys... I'm using CyanogenMod 6.1.2 but will be moving on to CM7 when RC2 comes out if that helps.
###### Update with How To ######
This is for CM6 and CM7.
Steps:
1. Menu/Settings/CyanogenMod Settings/User Interface (Display for CM7) /Automatic backlight/
2. Check "Use Custom"
3. Click "Edit other levels..."
4. Under "Buttons" set the four values of "255" to "0"
5. Click "Save & apply"
Hope this helps...
#### EDIT ####
Using CyanogenMod 7, just realized as soon as you adjust the brightness the leds com on again... this is fixed by simply turning your screen off and on again.
indeed there is
should be under something like
Settings -> Cyanogenmod Settings -> Display -> Automatic Backlight -> Edit Other Levels
Then for "Buttons" just set anything that's 255 to 0.
SICK!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude, for soon long I've been wondering how I could turn those off... just never thought to ask till now...
THANK YOU!!!!

No problem. I also tweaked those levels significantly downwards as the defaults were far too bright given the light level it was sensing.

Thanks so much...... was looking all over the internet for this tip

[Q] power control widget

For some reason my power control widget is not working. I can place it on my screen but there are no buttons in it for me to select. What is the stock apk? Looking to find a stock one that would work with EL30.
What rom are you running? I've had this problem before, but it's been a while. I use cleanGB mtd right now.

I'm currently on cleanGB and minimalistic black theme. But I also ran advance data restore when I jumped over to EL30. I'm not sure what the apk is for the power control. I need the name so I can pull it from a rom or theme and push it through and see if it will fix it.

This is a common bug. Do this....
Place the widget on your desired screen and restart your phone, it will appear, give it time. I have experienced this bug on 75% of the ROMS i've tried.
Also try fixing permissions if that does not correct the problem.
that worked. thanks!
Another simpler solution that I always use is just place the widget anywhere then turn on wifi from ur status bar and it'll bring up all the buttons

[Q] How does "Epic 4G Settings (EpicParts)" work?

Preface: I've asked about how to disable capacitive backlights on stock TW ROMs, and now I independently found half of the answer.
By looking inside EpicParts.apk from CM-based ROMs, I obtained the position of soft key "device": /sys/devices/virtual/sec/t_key , and by modding the file "brightness" under it, capacitive key backlight turn off.
However, on TW ROMs this never persists no matter how I set the permission / owner, while on Incredible S, after modding I can mod the permission to r--r----- to prevent system from reverting this setting.
Plus, on pre-CM10 era ROMs, "Epic 4G Settings" is there but even if I disable the backlight, it always light on for a wee second every time I unlock, which is pretty annoying as I use onscreen keys heavily.
Digging further into CM10's EpicParts (which can totally turn backlight off, regardless of unlock), it seems that it creates two files under the folder, "touchleds_disable" and "touchleds_voltage", but I don't know how this behaves, nor can I imitate the behaviour.
So... it'll be appreciated if anyone can explain to me how EpicParts (of JB) works and how I can reproduce its effects. Thanks all

I don't really have an answer to your question but I have a question for you lol. What you did disabled the lights completely? Like even the little flash they give when they are pressed on? They're just completely off?

Yes, that's the effect I'm looking for, and by now only CM10 and PA 2.5+ can do that; however, if I choose to disable them completely, the "Recent Apps" view will automatically pop up randomly, and I dunno why

[Q] How to activate Pie controls?

Hi,
I'm currently using the Xnote Zero Edition 4.1.2 and I want to enable Pie controls. There is a menu item in the settings, however, nothing happens when I activate TouchInput. In some other threads I read that you have to use the extended desktop mode. What does this mean and how do I activate it?

Idont know what it is, but i saw an option called "active pim control" somewhere in wifi menu.
You have to first assign control buttons. .say position 1 for menu. .2 for home etc

Hi,
I already assigned items to the Pie menu (Home, Back etc.), but it still won't show up. I activated TouchService in the settings and the gesture input device is set to HTC Evo3D/Sensation/Amaze/HOZ, Motorola RAZR/DROID, Acer Iconia, Samsung GT8.9. There is no option for a Galaxy Note 8.
Just to be sure: if it's working, I should be able to activate it by sliding my finger from the right border onto the touch screen, right?
Right or left depending on your setting preference...

I'm using the default (right handed). It prints out "LMT: TouchService started", so it should work. But when I slide my finger from the right bezel onto the screen (on the home screen) the screen it just changes the home screen to the next screen.
Does it work for you? If yes, what ROM are you using?
I had an issue with lmt suddenly not working 20 days back. ..download the latest version from xda and reset the settings

I've downloaded and installed the newest version (1.912), but it still does not work...I just can't get the pie menu to show up.
What ROM are you using?
On stock rooted. . Use it more on my note 2 with omega rom

Nexus like SoftKeys

Hello There
I just wanted to know, how can i add softkeys to my at&t s3 i747 like nexus devices. my bottom keys stopped working after a fall & all that works is HOME button neither MENU or BACK button lightup or work.
Searched this forum a lot found this line "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" to add to build.prop but whenever i did that the phone just keeps restarting with every rom that included stock, aosp, cm11 & other derivatives.
Good old captivate used to have this option with CM9 but i cant find an option to enable it anywhere. So im here to ask if there's any module to get those softkeys.
Tried all apps from playstore nothing seems to work.
Nothing can be done???

The "qemu.hw.etc..." should work fine as long as you save correctly and reboot after. If you're willing to use 4.3, use an AOKP ROM like Task650's, PAC, or Paranoid Android which comes with a persistent navigation bar option if I'm not mistaken.
