Does your SIM get disconnected? - HTC One X

Sometimes I unlock the phone and I find it on the SIM unlock screen, where you must enter the PIN... It happens when I'm at work, where there is very bad signal... Does it happen to you also? Can it be related to the bad signal which forces a sort of SIM reset or could it be related to a bad SIM (it was a standard size SIM which I've cut with a SIM cutter).

never happend to me

Ive had mine for just over a week and a bit and where i work my signal isnt great however i havent experienced anything you mentioned above. It may be due to the fact your running a normal sim rather than a micro one and the fitting doesnt quite match.

I've replaced my self-cutted sim with a new micro-SIM, for 8 euros... Hope it solves the problem

Today I've experienced another "SIM reset" at work, where I have very poor signal... It asked me to enter the PIN.. can it be a radio bug not solved by fw 1.28?

Losing signal on my HOX

This is weird. When I woke up I restarted my HOX and suddenly signal kept dropping. Keeps saying preparing sim card. What could be causing this? I don't want to keep factory resetting. Seems to be a really great phone but now I don't know if I should return it. Please if anyone can help.

Got exactly the same thing, was told by HTC it was faulty. Send it back for a replacement.

are you using a call blocker? I was getting weird issues when using root call blocker. I had to uninstall it, had read from the app devs they are working on the problem

mine is still stock, but I only had problems after I updated 2-3 days ago
had really great signal before upgrade... havent tried restoring fabric settings, but am searching for custom rom, and will try that out
Already happened to me three times where suddenly "preparing sim card" appears and I lose signal. Had to hard reset all the time. Unfortunately, htc shops here in the Philippines are crap. They say they have to send it to service center even if the phone is a week old. For what? So they open it up? I don't want to have a week old phone opened and fixed. I want a replacement.
Have the phone for 2 week now, and today i also faced this problem for the first time T_T (running stock 1.28)
Just great, first the yellow spots that didn't went away and now this problem on top of it ?
I hope it was a coincidence and hope i won't get worse.
I had my microSIM replaced and so far, crossing my fingers, signal has been full almost all the time. I just had the original SIM cut before, so I hope that was just the problem.
I've read about sim cards been cut to micro sim been a possible cause.

In Slovenia one carrier has this problem. Only SIM cards older than 2 years work so it is a SIM problem. When I asked them about when they will solve this they told me it's HTC's problem and that HTC is working on the problem. Maybe the next update will fix it. SIM cards of other carriers work ok. So if you can, try cards from other carriers. If anyone knows how to fix this I'd be grateful. I don't want to switch my carrier because other two's 3G network is [email protected]

You mean like this copy one x?
No, but you can simulate it and mayb possible in the near future. I think i am going to order it too.. But need a new case then lol
FAQ on some other site:
Q24. Can the two numbers be on line at the same time
Answer: As one mobile with only one receiver, it is very difficult to make two sim cards online at the same time? Anyway, we are never stop making efforts to this direction.
The present method to solve is if you set calling divert service for two sim card, two sim cards will be online at the same time.

The "simulation" is nothing to do with this dual sim adapter; you can set a divert from any sim to your One X sim, so calls from that sim come through to the One X as well.
I don't think feature won't come any time soon either.

Interesting....wonder will it take a normal SIM and a micro SIM in the adaptor.
Sometimes you need at oversea station
It arrived! (only taking a couple days) and its been working well so far. Very satisfied!
The "2 sims online" option is for timed switching (so you can set it to switch sims every 10 mins etc)
For anyone interested this is the exact item i bought...

Honestly this is really cool! I have a few questions though. If I have a 3G data bundled line and a normal 2G line, will I be able to keep the data on permanently while switching between the two lines for calls only? My guess is no
And the 2 slots are for microsim only right?
I wonder if this can fit into my Otterbox commuter.

By normal he probably means the miniSIM.
The microSIM goes into the phone and then the miniSIM hangs out the back.

Sim card error

Hi nexus user.
I have got the possibly to get a galaxy nexus for 80 euro. Only problem is that when a sim is inserted the phone puts out an error message that the card can't be detected.
So I want to hear your opinion and possible solution to that error.
Is there a way to see if the phone is sim locked or not and if yes can I see to which service provider?
Thx for all your answers!

After this i began to get the NO SIM CARD notification even when i had my sim in the phone I have T-Mobile and it was working perfectly fine before... Can someone please help me i have no idea what to do, i have already:

T-Mobile will give you a replacement SIM of the correct size. Try that first. Your microSIM may not be making proper contact.

Thats what i'd do.
Unless you're constantly swapping between your nexus and a phone with a micro sim slot, i'd go get a full size sim card from t-mobile.
The store can swap it immediately, and probably wont charge you.
I went to T-mobile and they gave me a replacement sim , but that didnt work so i called up samsung and i still had warrenty so i sent it in , i just hope it doesnt take too olong :/

No telephon service, but data work...

I am suffering a very strange problem. I have a Dmc3 deodexed and rooted Rom with NEDLK1 baseband (3 ITA operator) since 3 months. I have done nothing special (no new apps nor flashes) in the latest weeeks. I have never flashed any other ROM. But 2 days ago I saw NO service. I have correct imei, could even surf the web but no telephone functions. Rebooting the phone did not work: it connected to the net but still said No service.
I thought of a SIM card issue and yesterday I asked my operator for a new sim. While I was waiting the new sim to be enabled, today I pushed in my Note 2 another SIM by another operator. After some hours I had the same trouble with this SIM.
So the problem is the Telephon. I don't know if hw or sw, but there is an issue.
Now to see what may be, first I changed the baseband Modem and flashed a stock XXDLK7 and inserted the new Sim inside. Now I will wait and see.
In case of continuing issue, I will try and go back to full stock operations.

Did you purchased this device new?
What about if you put this not working SIM to other device?
No, it was used. I have had it for 4 or 5 months.
The first Sim gave me a little problem also in Note 8 3g but it mostly worked. The second Sim had troubles only in Note 2.
Since yesterday with xxdlk7 and new sim I got from the operator I have had no problem with Note 2. But I want to wait and see a couple of days before saying it solved

I have got once more the problem!
Suddently No service. No way to get telephone line with H3G SIM.
I exchanged this sim with the Wind sim I have in Note 8. The Note 2 started to work wind Wind SIM. Note 8 had some problems at the start, but when I selected the operator it was all right.
It is the same as occurred earlier. Now it is all working. But later on sure the Wind Sim in Note 2 will stop working.
As the mobile phone was a Vodafone Brand Note 2, I am thinking that maybe the original Owner has stopped paying for the phone... and that there may be a sort of BLOCK by Vodafone. Is that possible? Maybe they schedule a check and block the networks, but in some extent when I change the SIM the block is removed for some hours...
It is only ideas... don't know what to think!
Chances are tour imei is banned, try asking your operator. I am suspecting this bcoz you purchased it used. This happens if device imei is tempered or device is stolen.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Thank you. Unfortunately yes. Imei banned because of incomplete payment from the first buyer. No way to solve it... it is a white display and that's it.
Impossible fo me finding the first buyer, I will talk with my vendor and see if he refunds me a part of the money and I shall buy it new.
Sad but true

I just had a very wierd occurance. So I go into a building and lose signal as usual. When I come back outside my phone still has the circle with line through it stating network not availible. All of a sudden the h+ icon and data icons appear and my data starts working fine. Still no signals bars and unable to make call. A reset sorted it out.
