Vista and rom update

Could someone please explain how I can update my rom to WM6 with vista? I found some procedures but got the impression that they became simpler in time but after reading a lot I can't find it back.
Or is there no simple way under vista. If there is I think a lot of users will be interested.

But it didn't solve my problem allso under xp I keep getting the message that the upload utility is corrupt and it immediately goes to 100%. On the pda I am in the bootloader so all the connecting goes well.
I unlocked the sim and tested this by using another sim and phoning with it.
I allso cannot believe that the O2 rom that I try to install that is in this forum is corrupt.
BTW I hope that

means that I can use the vista mobility centre instead of active sync?
Do I have to change something there?

Ok, it worked but only with the rom that is given on that french site.

This error occurs when there is an “open port error” before upgrading the CE ROM image.
Solution: You can reset the device and run RUU again. If you still encounter an “OPEN PORT ERROR” again, reset your computer and try again.

I get the same message

This rom file seems to be a lot bigger than other Artemis roms

All of you have to 2 job before upgrade that rom:
1. unlock CID follow this link:

I had SPL 1.11.000 before I thought it was OK, BUT I made the USPL update and its 1.11 cmon now so I could install this ROM too.
I found it very uninteresting, so back I'm back to [WM6.1] M2D - HTChero v.1 Ferfecir which is more stylis for me...

Firstable I just say that my language is french, please be indulgent with me and my english.
I have install the Cyanogen mod7 RC0 on my Motorola Defy. Installation was OK, but during the time I configure my phone I observe that the market is not complete, many applications doesn't appear.
For exemple I can't make the Google Books update, the market says "Application not found". I can't find for example "PES2011", "live365", "mobisle note".
With the official ROM Froyo2.2 I can found this apps. My Defy is not locked for an special apperator. I use Swisscom (Switzerland). My baseband is right configured.
I tried to reinstall the Rom one 2 times (1x RC0, 1x the last Nightly), but it doesn't do anything.
I despair. I want to use this Cyanogen because is better than the official rom.
P.S. Sorry for my approximatly english

Maybe it's something to be spoken at the DEV Forum and listed at GitHub.

Tu dois avoir un problème de build.prop... j'ai eu le même problème avec une ancienne cyanogenmod. J'ai du attendre une nouvelle version fixée. Sur la ROM officielle tout fonctionne ?

I doesn't have this problem with the official ROM (2.1 or 2.2 was all right). I think you have right, I wait for a new fix version.

Yep, the ROM's fingerprint in build.prop file must be wrong.

How is it possible that build.prop is wrong or corrupted, I doesn't modify the market or anything on my phone, jsut install the rom and the gapps.
A member on a french forum (frandroid) say that the problem come frome Google. Google has not validate some application for the 2.3 and they also doesn't appear int the market for 2.3 users. Is it possible?

install market enabler (available from market) and change it to another country carrier. most stuffs can be gotten from T-Mobile US or Verizon US. certain apps are country specific, so can only be installed/updated for that country

As far as I know, there are so called protected apps, which are only shown in the Market when an official, approved ROM is used. There were patches for leaked froyo versions to show all the Market items.
As the original posts says the problem is related to CM7, and there's no issue with official ROM. For example I didn't see some applications with Nordic froyo, but now with the official CEE these apps are not hidden anymore.

Same here. I've flashed several Nightlies and nothing... Apps like Quadrant or Milestone overclock aren't showing in Market.
I'm using CM7 on Defy, using as base ROM Nordic 177-005. I'm going to get back to Nordic, just to see if the apps get back into Market.
PS: Sorry about my english, I'm a spaniard.

You can try the app market enabler frome the market. It fakes a provider to access more apps. try a us-provider

i had the same problem with one of the custom froyo roms..apps that i could install before said "not compatible with your device"the only way i cured it was to install an official 2.2.2

Yes I'm not sure there is much that can be done. Konami are not recognizing the phone's software version and are not letting me download. Switching regions with market enabler, clearing caches, undoing market updates all to no avail.
I know that if I revert to CM_RC0 it works. Also official froyo works. Looks to me that the RC0 and RC1 have some differences in their build.prop files, eg
RC0 v RC1
ro.product.name=MB525_RTNORD v ro.product.name=MB525_RTGB

Same issue here... I think i'm on Beta6, not really shure... Was the last release before RC0.

Some apps are not available because the android (ROM) must be signed by a producer (ex. HTC, Motorola, Samsung), and the Cyanogen isn't!
For PES and other apps, you can download the installer on google search for example pes.apk but you must buy the game, if you don't do the purchasing you will have an error: "Not valid license" or a message like this.

Installing gapps-20110729 from nightly page solve the problem for me...

You have to try this:
ro.build.fingerprint=MOTO/MB525_RTCEE/umts_jordan/jordan:2.2.2/3.4.2-179/1304670482:user/release-keys
or any other from official Froyo.
Works very well for me

I wandered if, this rom have issue (or it's just for me) :
Since 1.7.4 it's not possible to launch G+, Hangout, there is a message : "Google play services, upon which some of your applications are not compatible with your device. Please contact the manufacturer for help" FWI in french it's "Les services Google play, dont dépendent certaines de vos applications, ne sont pas compatible avec votre appareil. Veuillez contacter le fabricant pour obtenir de l'aide"
I can't install mod from de hub (MyHub)
As I'm french, I use "ç" and "ê" but it doesn't work
SMS doesn't screen on

need any fix for SVHD 1.74
After flash 1.74 i had very very much error with my DHD. At about phone this show %Device Name%. Youtube not working, google play service error..... and Mygammer resposive slowly. So i change to used ViperDHD + flash Pacha 2.91 kenel. Battery ok. antutu benchmark score is 5132. rom smooth and free ram as 248 - 278. :fingers-crossed:

So it's not juste for me. I'll try an over ROM. But I had problem with Viper 2.3.0

If you like SVHD i recommend to use version 1.7.3 or lower. Version 1.7.4 have many many bug . I love SVHD rom but not SVHD 1.7.4

There is an uptade, I'll try the 1.7.5

I have the same issue. I tried to update the rom by OTA to fix the problem but the OTA update didn't work and showed the message "File remove Successfully". DomingoRijo obtain the same problem : Here but nobody solve it.

I flashed the update in the recovery, Google play services issue seem to be solved until the last update of the services. How to fix definetely this issue ? Modify the build.prop file could be the best way, isn't it ?

If you flash v.1.7.4 and then v1.7.5 directly after then reboot this seems to solve the problems, well at least for me it does, but they will return if the dalvik cache is wiped

[ROM] Archos 101XS : Stock Firmware 4.1.4 with root

Hello !
The last Archos 101XS Firmware (4.1.4 ) with Root is here! This Rom is based on stock Android system by Archos (Firmware 4.1.4).
This Rom can be installed only if you have already enabled SDE on your tablet .
Download :
All necessary files (archos.ext4.update, zImage, initramfs.cpio.lzo) in a single zip :
Archos_4.1.4.zip --> (link come in a few days. Because i'm new, i can't post external link. The file is on Dev-Host server d-h.st/sak)
Installation (same as Surdu Petru's ROM):
connect USB cable ;
unzip Archos_4.1.4.zip into Archos_4.1.4 directory;
copy archos.ext4.update in your device, or > adb push archos.ext4.update /mnt/storage;
go to recovery SDE and Remove android kernel if you have already installed any official firmware !;
go to Flash kernel & Initramfs and copy here zImage and initramfs.cpio.lzo from ( Archos_4.1.4);
Ok ! ... & wait to boot !

J'ai suivit la procédure mais ai rencontré un petit problème, il faut en effet (dans mon cas) renommer le initramfs.cpio.lzo en initramfs et là tout marche bien !
I've followed the procedure but encoutered a little problem (in my case), just rename initramfs.cpio.lzo to initramfs and all work great !
