Here's my little contribution to Vision android development.
On most ROMs, the headphones volume is too low and often you'd like to make it even louder.
Luckily for us, HTC Ace uses the same amplifier IC as Vision, and if you replace the amplifier config with the one from Ace, the sound gets a lot louder.
So here's two versions of the file:
First one is just an Ace configuration prepared for Vision (thanks kusuriurikun for this), located here.
Second one is an "Extreme" version which improves volume level even more, but may distort sound when set to full volume (i.e. 15/15). It's located here.
Yes, it's possible to make the sound even louder, but it will result in a VERY distorted sound.
Instructions:
1. Download the desired version of the file.
2. If you've chosen an "Extreme" version, rename the file to "AdieHWCodec.csv" (i.e. remove the "_Extreme" from the file name).
3. Put the file to /system/etc folder, and ensure that it has "rw-r--r--" permissions. Use any file explorer that allows root access, or ADB.
4. Reboot your phone.
Don't forget that loud music can seriously damage your hearing!
To restore the original sound configuration, download this file and put it to /system/etc.
This works on any ROM (or at least it should), I've tested Virtuous Affinity and Andromadus.
If you want to use this patch in your ROM, you're welcome to do so, but please don't forget to credit me in your thread. Thank you.
Nice, I'm going to test this out now on Virtuous Rom 2.0.

Great find! This might be afterall what I've been looking for to give that much needed boost. Thanks
I wonder, since both the ace and vision have the same amp ic's, then why is the ace's one configured to be louder than ours?

To make you frustrate because Vision is awesome device? No other ideas
By the way, the situation seem to be the same for HTC Glacier (myTouch 4G). Why - it's really a mystery for me.
Ah, and yes, this mod should also work with all devices that has the same amp (Saga, Glacier, Vivo, maybe others).

Thanks!!! This has been great! This + dsp manager = deaf. lol.
Just had a chance to try it and I didn't notice much of a difference on ILWT. Although, that might be because tsubus has probably already implemented it. I had found that when listening to music on ILWT through the headphones, it was considerably louder when in comparison to any other ROM's.
It might just be my ears though, lol. If anyone on ILWT tries this and notices a difference, that is.
Either way, thanks a lot for this!!!

Congrats pal ,I was waiting for such a fix for all Virtuous ROMS, as they mostly base off from EU version, which have EU volume limitations.
Thanks and its working in Affinity 2.05

You seem to be mistaken about who the OP of this thread is. It is not you.
Nice, working very good for a beta. Ok its an alpha (what's in a name)
A bit slower than cm7, but still fast if you know there's no hardware acceleration.
However: UI sucks
EDIT: quickpic is the old version, cm7 music, too many chinese stuff even after applying dutch (root explorer for example).
Things to be fixed first: picture layout and kernel ! After applying a new wallpaper, its back to normal

Just wanna say did a nandroid, superwipe, installed and waited 15 mins. No problems outside of the known (Orientation Switch ftw).
Its super smooth, battery life is similar to TDJs ROMs and i love chrome beta. Raver did a great job.

You know what? I did that, and it's actually what led me to ask the question. I tried IgCamera and QuickSnap, but neither worked. I believe you're right about there likely not being one. Not only is the current camera normally functional, but the issue we're having with our "beta" ICS is certainly not anticipated by developers of this kind of app.
I am not omniscient, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask in Q&A.

I wonder if there's any chance of one of the first posts being modified to include a list of known bugs and workarounds/fixes?

I've have the issue, tried clearing all cache and fixing permission to no avail. I'm sure it's happening for the same reason the camera is having the issues. It's due to the kernel. I'm sure there us a 3rd party app we can get, so no biggie.

I wanted to share how I flashed which worked perfectly.
"Flashed:
[1] Made TB of all apps
[2] Rebooted in CWR

[4] Wipe Data Factory reset
[5] Wipe Dalvik Cache
[6] Flashed samsung_ultimate_kernel_cleaning_script_by_lippol9 4

[7] Flashed DarkSide Super Wipe
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1477955
[8] Flashed Rom
[9] Reboot Phone
[10] Let sit about 10 minutes after reboot was fully done
[11] Rebooted again so data started to work (takes second reboot)
[12] Once 2nd reboot was done I gave it another 5 mintues before I messed with it.
Hope that helps some. My install steps are very excessive but I have done those steps on all roms and never had any issues."

where is the dsp Eq? is it not an app anymore?
is it built into a specific player, or do they work with any app's built in eq?

There's no app because it's different across phones...I'm sure one if the devs (like @rompnit or @freeza) knows where/which file it is that gets played on low battery, and you could then just go in and replace it with your own file
The files for sounds are in system/media/audio/ui. I use root explorer, read/write enabled. You're file needs to be a .ogg audio file. Then find the file you want to replace and rename the new one to match that, and just copy/paste to overwrite it. I do it every time I flash a new rom because the "bubble" sound for 'screen touch' sounds annoys me.

Decompile, recompile, then take the original and delete the res, resources.arsc, and classes.dex files and move those over from the new APK you compiled (open both with something like 7zip)

Hello to all developers and Specially to Musta.
I'm a huge fan of Mustaavalcosta. because the way he made ace rom are more like stable and smooth as butter, today i installed his cm11 for the 4th time.
Pros: No Lag at all,Very Smooth,Very much stable and many more.
Cons:Battery drains way to fast, Battery section: Screen 78+% usage., Poor wifi connectivity.,Browser issue.
I did try pimp my rom for little over customization in order to get more battery,On an average my desire hd battery last 3 to 3.5 hours straight on wifi watching videos online. But since Musta's first cm11 nightly to subsequent in every rom he made there is always battery draining issue.
So wanted to know is it related to kernel of rom? or anything else? IS anybody facing same kind of a problem?
My Device is Factory S-ON,ROOTED
Help me out,Because i tried plenty of 4.2.2 roms and 4.1 JB roms and only 2 out of all gave me more batteryusage in order to use like 3 or more hours to watch videos online.
Thanks.

Hi there,
I'm new really would like to help out in the dev forum but i think i need 10 helpful post so here is one, which might be useful for you, ive already sent a couple of PM's to peeps that have mentioned this, anyway,
copied and paste to here...
you mentioned about the video on this rom , i too had problems but i managed to get it too work by adjusting the settings, please try this...
Im using build 2014-01-18 nightly cm11 - ace
under video settings - video qaulity: HD 720p
more options - video encoder: H264 , audio encoder: AAC
back out of camera app and then restart , i get clear videos now no choppy lines etc.
also if you swipe to the right to bring up the vid or photo after using the camera/video app, and then go back and the controls are missing, just swype back to gallery and back to camera/video app once more and they appear again.
ok hope this helps tried to make it clear as possible
kind regards,
WS.
Problem with sound on streaming radio
Hi
I just want to hear if someone else have the same problem with the sound when streaming radio with Tunein Radio.
After I start listening to a radio station the sound start disappering for short periods. If I close the main program but let the radio
stream in the background everything is OK. But if I enter the main program again the problem with the sound reappear.
Don't know if this problem applies to other radio streaming programs because I'm only tested with Tunein.
I have set the buffer to 15 sek before play, but this had no effect on the problem.
Thanks
a bigger issue for me is the no Service signal

- the radio cannel is streaming with low sampling frequency (below 80k) and AAC format
- you must keep the phone active ie don't let the screen go to sleep or shut the main program.
It can take from 10 to 30 sek before this problem appears
There is no problem if the radio station streams MP3 regardless of sampling frequency.
Can someone please do some testing and see if you have the same problem as me.
Thanks

-Well actually in my opinion you may go back to any custom rom made for DHD.
-Wipe everything and install fresh in order to avoid boot loop or any other problems!
-Best ROM by mean giving more RAM and great battery life? if yes than i'm using Pixeldroid 4.2.2

i think you don't have any more doubts

CyanDelta Updates or similar way to updates CM11 Unofficial
Hello I have the newest CM 11 Mustaavalkosta. It is possible to integrate an auto update app like cyan delta updater?
It would be very comfortable to update the newest nightly directly into the desire hd.
Regards Christian
Give a try

Sir,in my opinion if you really wanted to use it...than definitely give a shot but before than its advisable that you make full backup in order to avoid post complications.
Moreover check the appropriate nightly the one you want to flash.Still fingers crossed but if you succeed let us know.
Also don't forget to go throw this thread to clear your doubts:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951258

I have found the solution. If you want to use the camera in conjunction with Google Translate just aim at the text you want to translate and take the picture. The camera will then focus on the text and start scanning and translate.
Problem solved.

First off I'd like to say thanks for this great forum. I've used it many times over the years but just recently registered. I've never really had anything substantial to add (still don't). In the past I've had a Photon and HTC One M7, both from Sprint. I never really had the urge to mess with them at all. I recently bought a Note 4 and I decided to root it. I'm more of a computer person, building and customizing but never got into messing with phones.
With that said I'm in need of some help so I decided to register. Not sure if I have much to add at this point to become a contributing member so if anybody is hesitant to help I completely understand. I've been a noob on many other forums, and have also seen noobs come and go. So if anybody can help, that's great and I thank you ahead of time. If not, that's OK too.
I was completely torn between the new LG, an HTC One M9 and the Note 4........ I even considered the Nexus. The audio quality of the M7 that I had was and still is better than any other non-HTC phone on the market and it was really tough to convince myself to get something different. I wanted a big screen with great hardware. The Note 4 had all that except for the audio. The audio, speakers and headphone quality absolutely suck. I am terribly disappointed. I was going to see if HTC was going to release a version with a bigger display, I saw that it is a toned down version. If HTC made a 5.5-5.7" maxed out version like the smaller M9 I would have gotten it.
Now, I've rooted this phone and I've gone through all the steps of installing V4A and no matter what I do it does not function at all. The problem I see is that my phone upgraded to Lollipop. In order to properly install V4A the SELinux mode needs to be set to permissive. There was an app (I forget the name of it offhand) that could change the mode, unfortunately it is not compatible with Lollipop. Without changing the mode to permissive I cannot properly install V4A.
I've searched through this forum a couple times over and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Is there another way to change this mode? What about recommendations for one of the custom ROM's that has V4A in it? I'm really open to any suggestions. I'm really fed up with this phone telling me what volume level is enough. I use this phone for music all the time and the stock equalizer automatically cuts the volume down to the highest equalizer setting. I can hear the difference, when using Spotify if I skip to the next song the stock equalizer (SoundAlive) takes a split second to kick in and you can hear how it should sound without SoundAlive. For all this Note 4 has, I'm really starting to regret getting this over the M9. It would be a great phone if I can get some volume back as well as some decent sound quality.

You need custom kernel to set mode from enforced to permissive... or google there is away to enable V4A to work with stock kernel that involve romtool.
This phone imo is top notch in all areas but I agree with you on the audio quality, stock music player that is. I use PowerAmp and all of that changes, even through the phones tiny speaker. My suggestion is to revert to stock and simply install the app if you're just looking to improve audio quality. Just my 2 cents.

I've heard many good things about PowerAmp but as far as I know that's only applicable to downloaded songs. It doesn't work with Spotify.

Yeah that's true. Sorry
I'd suggest using the Emotion r14 kernel. That will get you permissive and a much snappier phone as well as having tweaks specific to sound. It supports Faux 123 sound on top of everything else. You should find a link to the kernel in the original android development area.

Sorry the Emotion kernel can be found here.

Thank you for the recommendation. I'll check it out. If I can get the permissive setting I shouldn't have any issues getting V4A installed. Everything else that comes with that kernel is an added bonus.
OK, that kernel worked great! I was able to install V4A almost flawlessly. No disrespect to any of the equalizer apps out there but V4A is by far the best audio control I've used. I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get this installed. That kernel did make the phone a little "snappier" as you put it. I haven't had a chance to mess with Synapse, I might just leave well enough alone as it's now working he way I want. Thanks again.
im just curious do you still have data after flashing that kernal?
Do I still have data? Not sure what you mean.
Hello to all.
Can someone help me with the tunein radio not working with viper audio?
I changed my phone to permissive, and added the 2 zips somebody uploaded that changed the build prop. But i still cannot get viper and tunein to work together. Maven Pro audio works great as does iheart with viper.
Thank you in advance.
Blessings
I'm not a subscriber of Tunein, I wish I could help ya. Does V4A work with other audio services?

According to this it's an issue with Tunein. It is a little old so not sure if there is a different issue since then, so take it for what it's worth.
