Latest/Best Radio for Desire HD? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys
Could you please tell me which is the latest Radio Rom for my Desire HD?I´m searching for this for almost 1 hour but couldn´t find anything clear.
Thank you!

12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M is a popular radio, best is to try it and see if what works for you.

Best to have a look here and decide for yourself.
Personally i use 12.62.60.27U_26.13.04.19_M and have pretty good signal/3G and have had no issues on any of the ROM's i have used / tested, I have only tried AOSP / Cyanognen ROM's

I read something on radios and if I was you, I'd probably stick with what you have until you fully understand them. Apparently the difference they can make (for the better) is not that great... But can potentially have a negative effect. I haven't flashed an alternative one through so I could be wrong! The problem is that you have consider location AND the hardware in your phone. From what I gather the latter is not easy to determine because two desire hds from the same country/ phone company/ year can contain slightly different hardware that can affect which radio to use. If you know how to check how well a radio is performing, however, feel free to experiment but there isn't a 'best' radio that somebody can recommend here. You'll have to work it out for yourself (and I'm sorry to say I don't know the best way of properly checking!)

Best WM6 & radio ?? confused

First of all thanks to everyone who makes this all possible
I was scared of flashing my Orange M3100 at first but now i realise if you read & read as much as possible on here then you won't go far wrong.
anyhow After reading i decided to go with the Schaps 3.60 rom (thanks Schaps) and it works fine apart from a couple of issues but i cant say i have been blown away with the speed but stability seems better than WM5 but maybe i need a bigger pagepool. Although having to reinstall all of the stuff means i have not had a great chance to test it properly yet.
Now looking at another thread it seems that the TNT rom may be better (the bluetooth issue on the Schaps rom is a pain tbh)
My question is that as there are so many threads regarding WM6 roms all have good and bad in them , I was wondering what in users opinion is the best rom for stability and / or speed out there.
I suppose that this mainly requires opinions from users that have tried more than one rom but all are welcome.
Also i am confused ref the number of radio roms there are and it seems that each radio can have different results in different countrys.
I'm not sure what you can use for this but it would be a great idea to have a matrix of tested roms by users their test results from each country so we can get a good idea which one would perform the best and if possible maybe a comparison of WM6 roms and bugs etc.
So i am asking if it's possible to have 2 matrix one for radio performance in countrys and the other for the WM6 roms
I know that the roms matrix would be more difficult but the radio one would be very useful .
Sorry for a long winded post and if i can help collate the info then i am happy to do that.
Heres looking forward to the replies and thanks.

Funny , it was a good read made me chuckle when i realised what it was saying but maybe you may have missed my point
It's already my intention of trying the TNT rom after i have tested the current rom more but my point was that as we are all here to help each other i thought it would be a good idea to have a way of displaying the info in one place so it's easier for users to help them come to a desicion.
Of course searching the forums is always the way but there are so many threads it's easy to miss things.
It's ok to flash the radio 10 times to see which one is the best performer in which country but if it's already been done why not be able to see the results and then free up the time to test ones that have not been tested.
But still it was worth reading that post anyway hehe
MachmandP,
I'm with you on this one.
I'm looking to flash mine but there are so many with different updates and different problems but no spreadsheet showing the differences.
Its a random choice as to what you get.

need help understanding some version numbers

ok so im trying to read things already posted, but there are too many posts to read and at this rate im not gonna get anything done and probably brick my (valuable) phone
so ill break it down into some simple questions that cannot possibly have a biased answer and the rest i can work out through trial and error
firstly, radio versions
i have 1.08.25.08.
many people are saying "woo hoo 1.00.25.05 is great" am i right in assuming this is an old build?
secondly the actual version number
is is as simple as the higher the number, the newer the radio? or do some of the numbers mean specific things like the 1.08.25.08 the first 08, does that mean vodafone uk (my carrier) or is it litteraly a version thing?
thirdly, which radio stacks will work (full functionality, not sort of works, or works but no 3g) on vodafone in the UK.
ok? i can try out all the radio versions that meet the third questions requisites and i can filter the versions i will try with the understanding of the first and second questions.
now, onto ROM versions.
im not so bothered about ROM's as the performance of the device seems ok to me, however, so as to remain informed i must ask.
WM 6.5, worth the upgrade? better features? i may simply look for a changelog, but has anyone tried it on the diamond, as the diamond was not built for 6.5 how does it handle the OS.
are there any rom's that come particularly recommended for their reliability, as my ideal phone would be stable, with good battery life (i know this is connected to the radio stack, but the ROM must also play some part) compatible and integrated with facebook and twitter (like on the diamond2)
also other than the ROM and the radio stack, is there anything else that needs updating? if so, please provide some info, if you must link to a wiki, please link to a relevant page, not the wiki as a whole... the idea of my asking is to save me trawling through hundreds of pages to find the 2 or 3 paragraphs i want... i am not google spider lol ( and i dont expect anyone here to be either, so im not fussed with detailed info, just an outline would be great, for any of the above points! im fairly clever, but the questions above are stumping me as im coming v late to this whole ROM issue and while the tutorials are good, im confident i could sucessfully flash my diamond, i fear i know nothing of the merits of the ROM's that the chefs are cooking.) anywho, im off to bed now, as its gone 4am and i have work at 3pm and my son will invariably wake me up around 8 so i must sleep now or forego it completely (dont you dare tempt me lol)
many thanks in advance to anyone who offers their help here.
As you have seen, there are quite few version of WM6.5 out there in the forum. from time to time, I load new releases which I think probably good enough to have a go, be frank, I havent found any WM6.5 cooked ROM suitable for me yet. most time, I find it's a bit sluggish. However, keep in mind, WM6.5 is not exactly mature yet.
For a good reliablity and performance, I woud recommend WM6.1 still. so you have to try each ROM yourself. It would create a debate here if I tell you which ROM i think best. have fun flashing!
Regarding Radio question, I think u rather post a question in the Radio thread. many ppl would be more than happy to help.

[Q] Best Radio For Signal Strength

Hey guys, apologise in advance for what a few may consider as a 'noob' question :|
But, I'm struggling to find a radio that offers good signal strength. I can't really phone someone without my voice breaking up. So could someone suggest a good radio to flash? Thanks in advance
There isn't such thing as a best radio.
You should flash different radios and see the results for yourself.
The result depends on the rom you are using (if you are using a custom rom, it's probably best to use the radio recommended by the developer) , also of course the location you are at. See the AdamG thread in development section for a full list of radios.
Hi,
I'm currently using 32.48.00.32U_5.10.05.30.zip
Not certain if there's a problem with it regarding voice breakup etc. I was on an later one then went to 10.05.30 as it made a big difference to me on battery burn.
I'd suggest trying ones until you're happy as ROM + Radio combinations might have different user experiences. As yjey say YMMV.
I'm assuming, of course this might not be true as you didn't provide any details, that you're rooted on a custom ROM.
More info might help people, more knowledgeable than me, to reply.

[Q] Which Radio to flash ?

hey guys i got a desire hd with CM 7.0.2 on it and i flashed it with Radio_12.48.60.23U_26.08.04.07_M3.
What im curious about is what u guys suggest for radio ?
I love this question. Nearly as much as I love "What ROM?".
I love it because it shows a dedication to following basic rules.
I love it because I love having to say the same thing over and over.
I love it because one thing this forum needs is ANOTHER thread titled "what radio / ROM". Just can't have too many.
The choice is YOURS and specific to YOUR phone, ROM and kernel. What radio works for one person will fail completely for another.
You just have to try them out.
There is a dedicated thread to radios in the development forum. Please have a look.
My choice is as per my sig but the default cm7 radio was good too.

Hardware specs might be the same, but there is never any peice of hardware that is identical.
I have taken the radio from the Revolution HD Thread, which is recommend for version 4 ß4

Doesn't matter if you agree or not, doesn't stop it from being true.
Besides, the hardware varies slightly especially the CPU for example. Some can handle faster clock speeds than others. Some can accept kernels that other's can't.
The Radio controls, amongst other things, the network reception 2g / 3g / Edge / HSDPA etc. and that will vary from one network provider to another. And as such, a radio that works well for T-Mobile in the UK might not work at all for Vodafone in the UK or T-Mobile in another country.
So no, it doesn't matter that the phones are the same when it comes to choosing the "right" radio.
To make matters worse, some radios have much much better reception but worse battery so AGAIN it's a PERSONAL choice.
Disagree all you like, those are the facts.

[Q] Your advice and suggestions!

Hi peeps,
Ok...this is my dilemma. For some time now I have been using a HTC Wildfire phone as my work provided them for the staff. We have all been in the same opinion that the phones cause us daily problems with calls dropping, phone freezing, etc etc.
I personally have a Samsung S2 which has been great, although sadly the custom rom I have on it is no longer been developed so that's another issue to tackle another day.
Because I have to use the Wildfire daily I am looking to try and load a rom to make life easier and less problematic. So I would be grateful for suggestions and advice on a rom I could look at installing into the phone, thanks :good:
Firstly just to be sure this is a "Wildfire S" forum not "Wildfire". Huge difference between both. Just making sure you are in right direction.
You may wanna root your phone and try a improved version of stock ROM assuming you need sense 2.1. I haven't used many sense 2.1 roms but Mindhaxor or disciple 1 is my favorite. Get them from android forums.
I personally use MIUI v4 for daily use. It's great.
Cheers really appreciate your advice on this, after looking at videos on youtube to check and it would seem that it's not the "S" version at all....whoops....sorry about that.
Will now venture onto the Wildfire forum lol! :good:
