Hi guys,
today i noticed that thedocking points on the back of my phone are discolored.. it has a rusty color on the middle docking point. I think it's related to sweating of my hands, but i think it's not a good sign that the docking points already are corroding after 4/5 days of use ?
Anyone else noticed this on their docking points ?
[link to see the problem, i know not the greatest picture taken, but you can see that it isn't bright silver anymore, but has more of a rusty color] http://i.imgur.com/FqBAn.jpg
Though i don't mind some minor discoloration but i do hope that in the future the dock won't try to connect with nothing due to corrosion.
Nope, mine is all good. Had it for 5 days also, but I don't hold it round there much.

the gaps between the optical pad and the menu button (left) and the back button (right) are equal on my device.
Not sure I know what you mean
There seems to be a little gap between actual trackpad button and the edge of the hole it sits in. If I am thinking the same way you are, look at the pictures -

Now I don't think it is a factory defect because mine doesn't sit "right in the middle".
Yeah, one of the first things I noticed. *shrugs*

Thank goodness I am not the only one
Also...now that I am thinking about it, couldn't people living in the U.S. now get some sort of warranty help through HTC U.S.A.? Since U.S. Cellular is going to be carrying the Desire, it would only make sense that the United States division of HTC could possibly offer some sort of warranty help
(I remember reading through the white warranty booklet that came with my Desire, and it said that HTC offers a 2 year warranty)
No gap on my Desire.... :/
Obviously this is down to manufacturing tolerances, if you make sure you always push it slightly to the left when ever you "click" It'll probably be central after a couple of weeks
Mine is in the middle too. Tolerances....
my one got a gap too.
but I hardly ever use the optical trackpad other than taking picture so don't bother me much.
I think its bcoz of the chin design the button is a bit misaligned.
Got no gap here, i'd think its manufacturing tolerance to.
Mines got a slight gap on the left as well, seen two other Desires which have the same, no biggie really, it still works fine and is only ever really noticeable when in a dark place and the backlight is on.
my optical has now malfunctioned see my other post
So i woke up this morning and saw this on my phone. the color on the left side of the speaker seemed to be drained leaving it a silver color. the phone itself is not scratched or damaged in any physical way. Cant post pics so here a link, sorry for the lame quality its kind of hard to notice unless u look at it in person

Has any one had this happen, and any way to bring the color back if possible?
Can't see your image.
Finally found my gf's camera

Looks like something that has happened to Asus devices when something happens to the glue. Not going away and probably not your fault.

Any chance it could get worse? I'm only about 25 days in
Hi!
So I have quite new nexus 7 2013 (bought it 2 weeks ago) and yesterday I recognized that it has weird stripe by the edge of the screen, just left side, its not all the way also and its also visible when tablet is booting. Picture is attached
And its only visible when you look on it with an angle. Im 90% sure that it wasnt there before... ( its really visible on black background , in dark room, Im sure I could see it..) . But is it kind of light bleeding? Of course its not a big problem for me but just wondering if it wasnt there before and just happend can be connected to some heating problem or so and be worse in the future. And tablet wasnt dropped on the floor of course.
Anyone has the same?
With cheaper tablets - I dont care ..but its fresh and not so cheap (especially here in Norway) and when Im laying on bed during the night and have my head a bit on the side ..then its pretty annoying
And of course I have guaranty but.. there was small accident and top right corner was slided through the wall which is like sand paper..nothing big,few small scratches on the plastic cover and it wasnt like dropping on the floor ..but it can looks like a bit, its visible. And my question is if it can cause problems during eventual reclamation process. Thanx in advance for any help

I would RMA if possible. I don't forsee any issues with the return.
People have had experiences where they had to pay for repairs because of apparent "physical damage"

Hi all.
I've received my brand new LG G3 32GB international D855. Awesome phone, really.
Anyway I've encountered some hardware related problems:
1st I've noticed that top and bottom of the screen are brighter, but I think it's due to the LCD technology itself (used amoleds in the last 3 years so a different technology with different and, imho, worse problems).
2nd, and the topic of this question, my camera is showing few very light scratches on the back lens. From my tests, fortunately, I realized that they're not visible in any kind of photo.
I used a cover and a screen protector since I unboxed.
My question is: is anyone experiencing similar issue? Is the lens so easy to damage?
I'm pretty worried because my Note 3 never showed a scratch in 7 months used without any kind of protection...

I have also used a bumper case since the 1st day. I checked my camera lens just now and did not notice any scratches. I think it might be a manufacturing fault.
Not sure my G2 had a ton of scratches too but it never came out in photos... so you should be A-OK... maybe just different glass types.
Note 3 has other quality issues *shakes* lol. S Pen die much? lol.
Meanwhile I realised that the issue with the screen is an actual problem called screen bleeding, related to LCD's back illumination.

I've had mine since 2 days prior to main release (know a guy, mwohaha)
I managed to drop it from my hand, when falling asleep in my chair after working with some stuff for 12h straight - it fell on the floor, and slid a good 20-30 cm across dust, and some "gravel particles" from my shoes - camera facing down. NO scratches.
I'm actually quite impressed

So they sent me a butter unity?
Wasn't sapphire indestructible?
Anyway I removed cover and the screen protector, actually they only covered the beautiful design... Just try a few day without nothing and see if the situation deteriorates.

I guess you got a faulty unit; I'd send it in to LG, or at least go on the live chat. That should do the trick, I hope!
sounds like a manufacturing fault. just swap it...i used the bumper too no scratches so far

If I'm not wrong I have 2 years to have free reparations/replacements right? Scratches aren't affecting my photos and are only barely visible with naked eye and only in determinated light conditions. If the problem becomes worse or photos will deteriorate I'll update this thread with my experience with LG's warranty system.
For now this phone rocks.

I've noticed some "light leaks" on the top and the bottom of the screen. It's nothing so disturbing, but it's not acceptable in a high end phone like the G3. :/
Anyone else noticed this? Is more visible when you're seen a darker color on the entire screen.

I've also, but it's very hard to notice and when watching films or playing games is almost invisible.
Anyway guys I've an update for you: I'm not crazy scratches are very visible under direct light and I'll definely contact the seller...
Little update
Sent the phone back to the shop (yes, directly to the seller because it was less than 10 days I have bought it :victory, it should get there on Monday.
Let's see if the screen leaky borders, creacky cover and most important buttery lens are enough for a replacement :fingers-crossed:
I'll update you when the shop will contact me.
Another and last update
The shop received the faulty phone today and replaced with a new one
I should get it tomorrow :victory:

I'm testing it now, they also replaced the wall charger that produced a kind of electric noise (and I forgot to tell them it did...)
Another update after the screen tests.
EDIT:
Anyway, a note: the "old" G3 had a "tight" USB which was a pain to plug... the new one works as it should
the "old" G3 had orrible blacks... the new one has very darker blacks
The screen still have the barely visible blue bar on top (seem to be a G3 feature) and has little brighter bottom borders... so I think it's the LCD itself and not a defect. I tested the screen with a simple app called something like Screen Test and every color is uniform (no illumination problems, darker bars/leaks, nothing.
THIS PHONE DOESN'T HAVE AM/PM BUG!
EDIT2:
LOL, AM/PM bug still present

By any chance can you tell me if you have a model with revised hardware? Because i thought all G3's had a hard to plug in usb (including mine).
About the borders i seem to have them too. I think its normal because i can notice them on all lcd displays like the iphone.
On the lowest screen brigtness, during day light my navigation bar is darker than the black bezel on the phone so i assume that yours is the same correct?
And my charger also starts hissing when charging the phone. Weird thing is it also makes the phone hiss when i have earphones on. I dont know if i should be worried.

Accessed phone infos from dialer and it says rev 1.0 like the "old" one.
Yeah I've set brightness to auto and the navbar is barely visible, not like an amoled but the "old" phone had blueish black which was horrible while watching movies even in a dark room with brightness set to minimum
And the new wall charger has the same problem so I think it's normal and it shouldn't explode
I'm not sure about the headphones+charger issue, sorry.
I can hear interference with earphones but I'm not sure of what you mean...

Yeah i thought so.
The blacks are normal to be a little bluish. All lcd are like that and even mine to a small degree.
Thank you for your reply lol. Good luck with your phone buddy
Scratched? How about fully cracked!
First - the phone was not dropped or have any impacts other than what you might get from walking with a phone in your pocket. Other than normal daily use, safe handling and really careful use the phone had nothing happen to it. I cannot pick even a medium bump that happened, but now I have a cracked lens with a hole exposing the camera beneath. LG is warning me that 'mishandling' is not covered ... I certainly did not mishandle the phone in any way.

Here is the video I made for Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH1fNexSNQk
I've just bought used One m9, it was like 100$ under regular price range, that is the reason i bought it. It's missing camera lens cover, and has few big scratches and maybe a little one on camera(whith i'm planning to change if that's really it), that is just, lets say, cosmetic problems.. Thing that bothers me most is that led notification is not working, not even when charging. I've tried that diagnostic things(i mean that *#*#34...), no luck there too. So, what can i do to check if it's software of hardware problem? Thanks in advance.
info on device: 6.0andr, official rom, not rooted.
I have same problem. No obvious issues with device outside of scratches. Doesn't work when charging either. Would be very curious if there is some kind of software thing that works.
It has probably been dropped and broke the led. If it is the front camera with all the damage then it explains a lot.. If the rear camera is damaged then the top of the phone has probably taken an impact damaging various stuff..
Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
I thought that was the reason too, but hoped that is some kind of software bug or anything else software related. Thanks for replies guys.
did you ever get it fixed? mine has the same issue, i think i might just have to live with it broken
Hi,
i had the same problem, the indicator light stopped working and i don't even noticed it.
I tested the LED with the HTC service test nothing, i flashed different images nothing.
I searched for replacement parts to fix it, im not 100% shure but i think the LED is on the Camera Board you can find it on fixit.
After 4 hours i just grab a toothbrush and clean the area over the led and it worked ! It was just dirt over the notification LED.
i hope this is helpful for somebody

It so is! I thought mine was done for for easily over a year. Read your post, grabbed a toothbrush and low and behold, a tiny little LED appeared!
To add to the usefulness of your post I'd like to note to anyone reading how small the LED is on this thing. It's the size of ONE of the little holes on the speaker, on the bottom row, about 5 holes in from the right edge. It's super tiny, so It's apparently easily covered with dust.

Hi, only to inform, just in case you plan to clean again later, it's the 7th hole starting from the right-bottom one
