Hi guys! I know there has been alot of talk about the vibrate not being strong enough.. My question is about the pattern when using haptic feedback. I think the GNexus haptic feedback is too intense!!! Its Like getting an electric shock... Ever tried the new HTC models? They have a smooth haptic pattern which is alot more rougher, or what I would call it.
Is there any ways to get this on my gnexus? It would be great!!!!

Check morfic's last kernels, you can modify it in his.
Haha who ever said the vibration is not strong on gnex.. I Wonder what does they want? An earthquake? xD
Being honest i wish it could be less intense cus sometimes I really think the phone its gonna break in my hands lol

Trinity kernel?
EDIT: Found out it was the Trinity. Thanks man.. Do you know where to configure this? (Franco for example has an app for that)
You have to edit that in the init.d folder. Example that line says echo xxxxx 1000. Change that value to your liking save and reboot.
GLaDOS kernel has vibration control too with an app in the playstore

Would you be able to tell me which file inside the init.d folder?
Alright I've tried the glados version. The vibrate gets weaker yes, but thats not entirely what I meant. I was tvinking about the same vibrate pattern as the new htc models. Its hard to explain what I mean.. need to feel it :/

Since there isn't an LED light specifically for notifications, is there a way to make the LEDs for menu, home, back, and search light up for said notifications? It would be even better if each one lit up for specific apps so I could know why it's lighting up before I even turn on the screen.
Thanks for any help!
My suggestion would be NoLED.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing, but was hoping one could take advantage of the buttons' LEDs.

The closest we can get to LED notifications is BLN. You need to use a BLN compatible kernel and use the app BLN Control.

I'm trying to tweak some things on system tuner and my phone rebooted (but took a bit to turn on) my blood pressure dropped, I thought I killed my phone!
But after some reading.. it pretty much means the phone does not like those settings, change them.. right? Phone works fine now though, but I was wondering for future reference

Yeah, basically. If you are undervolting, you need to take tiny increments to make sure the phone is stable before going any further.

Ok for pattern adjustment, but I need to change intensity, like strong or light vibration. Like use one scale between 1 to 10 for intensity.

+1, don't feel the phone going off in my pocket on the stock setting.

You need kernel that supports vibration control, e.g glados.

You need an app to control it, "glados control" can do that, dunno if there is any free app available.

edit: I suggest you to buy this app, it has many good features and you can support devs.
Ok, thanks! I'll buy this app and will test it.

Hello,
I just switched to CM9 from CM7 and so far am liking it, I just installed juicedefender to try to save battery so we'll see how that works out. I have a few questions that I couldn't find searching the forums. First, is there any way I can change the app drawer so when I open it it scrolls vertically rather than horizontally? Also, for my background when I try to crop the picture to where it looks normal when the screen is vertical and when the screen is horizontal the top of the picture is cut off, can that be changed? The last thing is the volume seems to be a little lower than it was on CM7, I checked the settings and the volume seems to be up all the way. Are there any apps for CM9 to control overall volume?
Thanks for all of your help,
Jim

There are different types of launchers that do that. CM9 i believe has some volume issues. there is an app called louder hack volume??? but not sure if it works on our phones.
Try Nova or Apex Launcher and mess with the settings.
I use nova launcher with the vertical scroll setting and wouldn't have it any other way on ICS..
The volume was raised awhile ago. It's actually quite loud.

Is it possible to increase the vibration intensity for things like phone calls and notifications? Compared to my old rom, I can barely feel my phone vibrating in my pocket with CM9

Just switched over to CM9 RC1 from CleanGB and I'm not too sure where the prompt is showing the wifi spots available in my area. I tried enabling/disabling the wifi button but no prompt shows up. Being new to the rom, I can't find any advanced settings in the menus.
Thanks in advance

ICS is different than GB so you must click menu> tap on WiFi or slide on and than tap on WiFi and there you go.
ahhh many thanks. I swear they make simple options so difficult to spot sometimes
Go into wifi settings and check notify when a network is available.

Funny how subjective it is. I wish there was a way to decrease the intensity. It is so intense it actually really bothers me that I don't use it very often.

I turned all vibration and haptic feedback off. It's pointless, annoying, and a waste of battery. Setting the phone on vibrate still works too for if I need to keep the phone in my pocket and quiet but still wanna know if I get a text/call.

Does anybody know if we can use root explorer to dive in and increase the vibration intensity? I did this on the GNEX, but I cant remember where I found it. I tried going into sys, class, timed output, vibrator, but then root explorer freezes and fc's

Stock adjustments arent high enough. Ill have to check out ktoonz roms. It has the app built in to the kernel? Or do I have to buy an app? AOSP Roms have them built in to advance settings. I like that...

True, but the haptic feedback vibrations are extremely weak (compared to TW intensity even at 100%)

Are you on a TouchWiz ROM or AOSP ROM? Not sure how on TouchWiz, but I know it can be changed in AOSP ROMS. I've failed to make it work harder/or weaker on TouchWiz ROMS.
This thread has info on how to do it on AOSP, but like I've said can't get it working on TouchWiz.
Trying to increase it on tw roms. Not sure if these settings are accesible with root explorer or if its sealed tight from samsung

Gotta chime in on this too... coming from the galaxy s 4g (t959v), the vibration intensity is poor on the m919.
When the phone is in my pocket. I can barely feel it when a call comes in.

This. I've missed several calls and messages already and I've only had it a week. And I'm running cm10 that gives you the ability to increase the vibration intensity. It still is very low.
But its not about how much power the vibration motor gets. Its a physical limitation. The vibrator simply isn't strong enough. (That's what she said)
