Hello,
I just switched to CM9 from CM7 and so far am liking it, I just installed juicedefender to try to save battery so we'll see how that works out. I have a few questions that I couldn't find searching the forums. First, is there any way I can change the app drawer so when I open it it scrolls vertically rather than horizontally? Also, for my background when I try to crop the picture to where it looks normal when the screen is vertical and when the screen is horizontal the top of the picture is cut off, can that be changed? The last thing is the volume seems to be a little lower than it was on CM7, I checked the settings and the volume seems to be up all the way. Are there any apps for CM9 to control overall volume?
Thanks for all of your help,
Jim

There are different types of launchers that do that. CM9 i believe has some volume issues. there is an app called louder hack volume??? but not sure if it works on our phones.
Try Nova or Apex Launcher and mess with the settings.
I use nova launcher with the vertical scroll setting and wouldn't have it any other way on ICS..
The volume was raised awhile ago. It's actually quite loud.

I am using it. Works great and looks good as always. Neon theme baby!
I had a weird problem with it. After playing music (via 3.5mm) for a while it would beep four times then the music would stop.
Is this happening to anyone else.

Personally haven't changed locks, but this is something to keep in mind. I usually use Pandora as my go to music app, but for SD card music, I stick with stock and use the galaxy S music widget from market.
When I press the power button on my GN to turn the screen off it doesn't just go straight off like say the iPhone does, it kind of disappears down to a weird white line and then goes off. Its like the days of really old TVs where it went to a white dot when the crt turned off.
Does this happen to anyone else?

It's a feature.
That is how it supposed to be. It is an animation from Google since the Gingerbread builds

It's a really awesome little feature when turning off the device. I love it!
Haha, yeah, when I updated my Desire to CM7 I spent ages just turning it on and off to watch it. I'd be VERY sad if they removed that feature.
(I'm easily pleased)
Unfortunately I do not have this feature with my SGN.
I cannot find the option to enable it also through settings at all.
Anyone got any idea how to enable this?

I don't think u need to enable it... Its already there..... When you hit the lock button, u will see your phone do a CRT like animation.
When I turn the screen off I definitely don't have it. I used to have it on my Desire with Gingerbread (Miui XJ). I used to be able to enable it in the options but I definitely don't have it on my SGN???

That's because the SGS is running a bastardized version of Android, like all TouchWiz devices. If you were to flash CM or an AOSP-based build you would have it.

I LOL'd when I read this post, are you just trying to troll?
You might be able to turn it off if you go into display settings, or just wait until CM9 comes out, it gives you an option to turn it off in the CM Settings as well as the ability to make the animation appear when turning it on.
I highly doubt you bought a Nexus and bought the XDA premium app without knowing about this Gingerbread feature

Well no one has made one yet, so I'll do the honors.
I have seen a decrease is signal strength, but I have noticed better data speeds. I never had the LoS issue before, so I can't tell if this fixed it or not.
Source for EK02 still hasn't been released yet...
Also just a heads up Sprint updated Swype to the latest version in this update as well.
Sound bug is still there. I can't comment on LOS until I am running the new radio (currently on EG31).
What is the "Sound Bug?" And I also noticed that Samsung added arrows to the lockscreen.

Bug where some games and most emulators will randomly crash, usually within minutes.

I tested with two headsets.
My Samsung earbuds (came with Moment) don't have any control.
My Klipsch (S2m) earbuds have two controls. Short press opens contacts, while long press opens Voice Talk.
I haven't tested it to answer or end calls.

No. I tried with the Samsung (stock) music app and the Google Music app. No luck. Screen is turned on if off, but nothing is changed.
ATM, the headphone button doesn't have any control over music.

Just you. AOSP is so much better than Touch****
Third Samsung device but I hate Touchwiz
I'm sorry if my English doesn't work for you. The thing I'm trying to say is, when your multitasking and want to switch between apps and phone Call multiple times between during a phone call, Touchwiz will take you to the active call and make it so much easier when you press the phone on the launcher, you know the littler icon next to the app tray button than takes you to your active call unlike aosp which taker you to a dialer only, and not an active call.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Touchwiz is nice. The launcher not so much but everything else works.
To do what you want on AOSP you have to pull down on the notification bar and pres on the phone call notification. That's what I do on Touchwiz too.
i actually love gingerbread touchwiz way better than stock GB also love the dock bar cuz thats what i use alot. but after trying the 4.0 kang version damn i fell in love. GB TW has alot of cool features like turn ur phone over to mute it (perfect for when u dont wanna get up in teh morning), slide to call or message someone, browser leaves u in the exact same spot, dialer knows numbers when u type the names, i honestly dont know why ppl hate it sooo much. GB TW> stock GB but stock ICS> ICS TW. i honestly am gonna miss some features especially the turn over to mute cuz i REALLY REALLY!! hate trying to fiddle with it when ur half asleep trying to turn off the damn alarm when i could just turn it over and BAM it stops
I'm never gonna like aosp, if it wasn't for touchwiz would I be buying Samsung?

Heck, that skyrocket ICS that was released a while ago by eugune or something looked better and felt better than the leaked ICS. **** TOUCHWIZ. Altho i prefer touchwiz on Gingerbread as it looks better than aosp, more suited for a larger screen.

I concur, sorry |OP| this just seems like a waste of a thread.
Anyone else notice the home screen redraw? Granted, it is much better/faster than ICS and prior, however JB was supposed to eliminate the issue. For those that don't know what this is, it is that funky shift that you get when coming back to the home screen from another app. It is most noticeable with a wallpaper that is not a solid color, and widgets. For example, if I am at the home screen and pull down the menu bar, go into settings, then hit the home button, I fly back to the home screen quickly, but there is a 1 to 1.5 second shift from the left and then right side as the screen redraws to fit everything.
The question....is this a result of a custom grid size, or is this something else? I am using Jedi with the 5x5 TW launcher. TIA.

Thanks dude. It looks like it is Jedi Home (TW) that is doing this. I switched to Nova and the problem does not appear. I also just tried deleting a blank home screen page from TW before I switched to Nova, and Jedi Home FC'd. Something is whacky. But I have seen this behavior with other ROM's and launchers too, so...it's a mystery at the moment.
