Hi , I installed the Revolution Android rom , i will to return in stock rom , How ?
Flash the RUU that fits your device......
Did it work???
No Details,Why?
First, you didn't say anything about your device:
-Is it s-off ?
-Is the bootloader Unlocked ?
-What's Your Hboot version ?
-What's your Current rom version ?
After all,if you think your device is ready for flashing,Here is All official roms for you:http://hipfile.com/users/kasra1/37448/One%20X

a.) Grab the stock recovery (in dev forum) and RUU for your device (google it). The RUU is the official HTC recovery file. Its an exe.
b.) Connect your phone in fastboot and flash the stock recovery. Reload into fastboot.
c.) in fastboot issue 'fastboot oem lock' , might be relock or similar going from memory
d.) Reload fastboot, run the RUU
back to stock

Hello, can you please mention the command to run RUU? eg: to relock bootloader "fastboot oem lock" or is it just to double click the RUU exe file?
No commands for RUU. RUU is and exe file click on it once you have flash stock recovery and re-locked bootloader.
May I ask why you want to go back to stock?

Hi I want to restore back to three uk firmware run my bootloader has been unlocked from htc dev unlock and I have a custom rom with touch recovery I have downloaded the stock uk three firmware run but not sure what to do next would appreciate some instructions.
1. Restore backup you made before flashing the custom ROM
2. Manually flash the stock boot.img
3. Manually flash the stock recovery
4. Relock bootloader (optional)
did not make backup so is there a plan b?
are you going back to stock to send phone off for repair?
If you are then run a backup of your current ROM from recovery first and copy SD to your PC for safe keeping.
1. Boot into fastboot
2. Flash stock recovery, found here (if you were on 1.26 before flashing custom rom then flash the 1.26 recovery, and 1.28 > 1.28): http://www.androidrevolution.nl/ARHD/index.php?dir=OneX/Recovery/
3. Relock bootloader: fastboot oem lock
4. Run RUU (phone needs to be in fastboot, and correct drivers installed onto PC for RUU to detect phone).
Edit: If you were on 1.28 before custom flashing then make sure you have the 1.28 RUU
Info found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609190
thats the thing i dont know what it was on 128 or 126 i tried to flash the 126 ruu and it failed so i presume its going to be the 128 ruu file so does it mean i have to flash the 128 stock recovery aswell or does it not matter.
If the 3 UK 1.28 RUU is available then you just flash that as the recovery comes with it. Remember you HAVE to relock the bootloader to run an RUU
Well i ran the 126 ruu and it failed it said something like get the correct bootloader after i did all the steps flashed stock recovery and relocked bootloader.

Have a look at your hboot version, if it is 43 then you probably have the 1.26 stock, if it is 94 then it should be the 1.28. I have the 1.28 3 RUU here, will see if I can find the download link for you.
Edit: Here is the post to the download link
my hboot reads 0.94.0000 so downloading 128 ruu thanks for the link so what stock recovery do i flash 26 or 28? i dont know what i had before.

you will need to flash the 1.28 recovery. unlock your bootloader first, then flash recovery, then relock again. you can use the same unlock.bin file that you got off HTCDEV to unlock the bootloader.
yep i already unlocked the bootloader just waiting for the download to finish and will post my results soon thanks for the help.
Thank you i can confirm this worked 100%
You're welcome
I've been trying to reset my HOX to stock for OTA JB update, but it keeps going into boot loops in which the only solution is to hold down the vol_down to go into bootloader.
I've been following vladnosferatu's method 2:
Extract the rom.zip from RUU of your CID (google how extract ruu.exe)
-fastboot oem readcid (to know your CID)
Extract boot.img, system.img, signed_recovery.img from rom.zip
Flash
-fastboot flash recovery signed_recovery.img
-fastboot flash boot boot.img
-fastboot flash system system.img
-fastboot erase cache
-fastboot oem lock
Power on the phone
Run the RUU exe file (of your CID) and upgrade your phone
Click to collapse
the bootloops start after oem lock.
I tried ClydeB1's noob-friendly method first, but it won't work since I'm already on 2.xxxxxxxx, and it refuses to downgrade to 1.xxxxxxxx
and I was on Renovate rom before this.
I have reset to Stock from Renovate once before, but now I can't seem to do it again. I have adb, fastboot and RUU(and extracted rom.zip)
What should I do? I've considered re-flashing CWM, flashing a Renovate again and restart the entire process, but I would like to confirm whether it would work first.
Thanks in advance for all responses!
UPDATE: I have just realised that there are 2.14 and 2.17 RUUs for my .707. I am now downloading those and trying if re-applying the steps using the updated RUUs will work.
Seriously .......WHY DIDN'T YOU TAKE 2 MINUTES TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP !!!!
if you upgraded the hboot you can only revert to stock when JB OTA is availabe for download an flash.

My hboot is 2.x, but it's not even the JB hboot of 3.x. I have been able to flash ROMs just fine on 2.x, so why can't I revert to stock? The 2.x hboot is obtained from stock OTA in the first place, too.
Just download the 2.17.707.3 RUU, then put your device is fastboot mode, relock the bootloader - fastboot oem lock
Then in fastboot mode too, run the RUU... you will for sure be on stock rom; there is no need to extract this and that and bla bla bla
And there is a JB OTA awaiting for your device

Hi ckpv5, I have also noticed that the 3.14.707 and 3.17.707 RUU has been uploaded. Can I just RUU the 3.17.707, skipping the manual 2.17.707? Because the only reason why I'm reverting to stock, is to update my hboot to 3.x, so that I can flash JB ROMs. Bypassing the 2.17-3.17 OTA would save quite some time.
Ya... I would do that if I were you... straight away run the 3.14 RUU instead of 2.17; but the RUU comes out after I did the OTA. So not so sure if it works that way but theoretically it should.
Just a note, the JB RUU, you cannot do the extract thingy.. so just relock the bootloader and run the RUU.
-- question deleted cause I saw some numbers wrongly that caused confusion =/ --
Hehe no ....just got bored from the one v forums ...nothing new happening

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work. The 3.14 gives me an error saying something about finding the right RUU for my device. Now downloading 2.17.707. Man htcruu downloads keep timing out halfway and I have to restart over and over :crying:
UPDATE: Yeah so it seems I had to RUU 2.17, and manually get 3.14 from OTA in order to upgrade. Can't skip that step.
hello,
I seem to mess up all the guides of flashing JB.
My HOX has cid HTC_044 , HBOOT 0.43, currently running Revolution 9.7.2, recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.4.0 recovery.
is there an easy/direct way to upgrade the HBOOT and the Rom to Revolution v18 ?
Also I tried that video tutorial but I got lost with all the Unlocking and Relocking.
I have a disability and pressing multiple buttons not easy for me so I'll really appreciate a step by step explanation.
Thank You.
Do you know fastboot commands to interact with the pc to the hox ?
If yes you can put the phone in fastboot usb mode with the fastboot command from pc
Fastboot reboot bootloader
or
Adb reboot bootloader
The phone should restart to the bootloader, then you can type the commands
Fastboot getvar version-main
And
Fastboot oem readcid
Post the results here please....

Oke download this RUU
http://www.htcruu.com/securekey.php...Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_278245_signed.exe
put the phone in fastboot usb mode again and do this command
Fastboot oem lock
This will relock the bootloader and give a warning sign, that's normal, keep the phone in fastboot usb mode and execute the RUU from the pc WITH admin rights !
This will bring the phone back to stock ICS android 4.0.4 from there you can upgrade officially to JB !
Note : this will wipe the entire phone including sdcard !!!

That's correct but i wanted to let him update official because when he updated to JB he can make a clean nandroid backup of his JB stock rom, this way its easier to go back to stock when he wants that, or when he has to update again
Thank you all!
Guess it worked ?

Update:
No, it didn't work!
That tool sent me to a link to download RUU but I don't know which one...
I tried RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.17.707.3_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_278245_signed but it failed, my phone didn't even reboot.
As far as I know you need to reflash the stock recovery.img and boot.img provided in the rom.zip before the RUU will work.
I don't know if this is the same scenario, so I'm just throwing in a suggestion.

RUU will automatically flash all of those. All you need to have is locked bootloader.
Are you sure?
First I tried it normally with relocked bootloader, and it didn't work.
Second time I read somewhere about flashing recovery.img and boot.img from the rom.zip that appears somewhere in AppData when you start the RUU. relocked bootloader again afterwards.
Suddenly the RUU worked, so... I could have done something that I didn't know of that I was doing it, or it was simply because of the recovery.img and boot.img.
I got my HTC One X for about 3 weeks now, so I'm not really experienced or whatever. Just really curious about how Android devices work, since I'm also a 'barely-passed-noob-phase developer'.
so, how do I re-lock it?
and what is the right RUU for me?
The RUU Mr Hofs provided is the right one.
He also told that 'fastboot oem lock' is the command to get the bootloader relocked again.
What I did was:
(Starting off with an unlocked bootloader via htcdev)
Go into fastboot mode (which is done by holding volume-down and pressing power button, or running the adb command 'adb reboot bootloader') and run the following 5 commands:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock
Run the RUU.
The boot.img and recovery.img for the RUU that Mr Hofs specified are in here: http://db.tt/lpQ8d3Vw
Yet I still don't know if this is the correct procedure for it to make the RUU run normally, but this is all I did to get mine working.
Good luck .
All info is correct !!! The ruu is correct and you ONLY need to RELOCK the bootloader ! The fastboot command is mentioned numerous times now
And please right click the ruu to select,
RUN WITH ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS !
and please put the phone in FASTBOOT USB before running the ruu !
will try it.
Thanks!
but how do I root it again after?
is there a rooting guide for HOX JB ?
sorry for the stupid question..
for example htc rezound if you rename the rom name to PH98IMG you can reboot into bootloader and flash the rom automatically. how do I do that? asking because I don't have a rom on my phone (I wiped everything) now trying to get a rom loaded on it

Your Rom can be named whatever you want as long as you write the name the same in the command and Idk if there is an automatic way like that, I doubt it.
This cant be done with roms, only with ruu's and firmware images. You would need a usb-otg cable, a fat32 formated flash drive, and the correct name would be PN07IMG.zip
im so stuck now. the htc resound was so much easier.
im s-off but stuck with no rom at all to load.
I kno how to adb sideload a rom to my phone but non of them are installing.
how can I return to stock?

more information would be nice. I cant not find a ruu zip or exe downloadwith vzw_001 thats my cid I believe.
so I will have to get that ruu and adb sidload it and then install from twrp? or fastboot oem rebootRUU install it that way?
detailed information would be greatly appreciated my hboot is the dreaded 1.56 I am s-off tho unlocked.
You can get the ruu's at the bottom of this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46506621
You can direct flash thru hboot as i explained earlier, or use
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Code:
fastboot flash zip nameoffile.zip
You do not sideload the zip to the phone, but put it on your pc in the same folder as fastboot.exe.

hmm thank you so much. and for some reason encrypted ruu doesn't work? but isn't that like how stock comes from the factory? I would like it to be factory stock to the max. then im gunna just debloat it.
For encrypted to work you must relock your bootloader. Either way you are getting the exact same thing. Encrypted / decrypted refer to the flashable file it self, not the files it contains or how they are put on the phone. Once you do the ruu and take the ota, you will be compleet stock other than being unlocked and s-off.
Hello guys. I was having problems getting the update. Then I found out , you can Ruu with S-ON but needs Bootloader Re Locked. Anyway, as it's my first time I wanna ask few question so I don't end up with a dead phone.
So, what I understood is Ruu will update all the other partition except System/ROM. On S-ON it needs Re Locked bootloader, the Ruu needs to be higher version than the Hboot OS version, the Ruu needs to be fully stock and it'll wipe the Internal Storage.
So, I first use "fastboot oem lock" then " fastboot rebootRuu" "fastboot flash zip xxx.zip" then it'll stuck on 75%-90% and I'll have to use "fastboot reboot-bootloader".
And I'll get the Android M Bootloader, recovery and other stuffs, right?
Now I'll be at Bootloader, have to use that Token_Unlocker.bin to Unlock again, flash twrp and flash a Marshmallow ROM and It'll be fully Android M.
This is what I understood. Please tell me if I'm right or not. Correct me if I'm wrong. I can't S-OFF , so this is only way. I also don't want a hard brick. So, please help.
I have some questions though. I've currently Viperone 5.0 ROM on Lollipop base. Do I have to go back to stock ROM before I can use Ruu? Do I have to get Stock recovery before I can start Ruu? Will Ruu erase the ROM? If Ruu erase everything, will my memory card be safe or should I remove it before Ruu and insert it to flash ROM after Ruu is done?
Thanks in advance for replying.
You have the proper RUU for your CID?

And I'll get the Android M Bootloader, recovery and other stuffs, right? The phone will be formatted to MM stock condition, all partitions.
Now I'll be at Bootloader, have to use that Token_Unlocker.bin to Unlock again, flash twrp and flash a Marshmallow ROM and It'll be fully Android M. You will already be on the stock MM ROM after RUU (as I've somewhat mentioned above). If you want to unlock the bootloader, TWRP, and install a MM custom ROM, you can do that.
Alternately, if you want to root the stock MM ROM, unlock bootloader, TWRP, and flash SuperSU 2.64 or later.
I have some questions though. I've currently Viperone 5.0 ROM on Lollipop base. Do I have to go back to stock ROM before I can use Ruu? NO
Do I have to get Stock recovery before I can start Ruu? NO
Will Ruu erase the ROM? YES
If Ruu erase everything, will my memory card be safe or should I remove it before Ruu and insert it to flash ROM after Ruu is done? Removable SD should be safe. But remove it before RUU, just to be safe.
