When will Windows phone 7 hit it's million mile mark?Based on some of my guestumates I believe that Windows phone 7 will hit a million units in 4 months. Thats not to snazzy. It appears to me that growth is about 41,666 units per week. Don't go bashing me now this is just a guess.
In a week the facebook page grew by 25,000 and I would think 2/3 of people use this integrated app so
214,000 right now
356,000 right now is my estimate. ((214,000*2/3)+214,000)
41,666 growth potential per week
soooooo
1000000-356,000=644000 to go
644,000/41,666=15.45 or 15 and 1/2 weeks
15.5/4.33 3.57 months + 1 monthish = 4 1/2 months.
Now here is where my math gets hard.
1 provider will sell about 400000 units in about 2 months
so when it hits all 3 it should reach that mark by February.
I believe it will hit 1000000 units in month 4
Now It's your turn when will it hit the 1 million mark.
What I saw somewhere it took the driod about 2 months and the iphone about 6 weeks
the sooner the better
It took Apple 74 days just shy of 3 months.
My guess is 3 months (probably a little less).
i don't know where it is now, but I'd bet once Verizon picks it up, and TMo gets more than 1 phone they can sell in the stores...it will boom.
9 phones, worldwide. My guess it should have been happened.
Should have happened a month ago. Even the Palm Pre (in one country) sold faster than those 9 WP7 phones combined (in many countries).
3 Months...
having multiple handsets on market doesn't cause the market to scale more. Just more options for consumers in that market.
I think having Verizon and sprint next year will shoot the scales up a lot.. Att is freaking expensive no matter how you spin it.
Later is harder
Not many will be breaking contracts for these phones given the competition - something apple didn't face. It will take time.
Shouldn't take this long for 9 phones to total 1 million in sales, especially worldwide.

How many units did the pre sell in one country and how many units of the windows phone have sold, I assume you have these figures and aren't just trolling?

no, he's pretty much trolling. Even though he says he has a galaxy s device, 90% of his posts are in this forum.

Great post! Personally I have him and quite a few other "interested" parties on my ignore list, makes for a much more enjoyable forum read (apart from when they get quoted). Quick tip, just click on the person's forum name, go to public profile, go to user lists and add to ignore list and add away!

I have a few users on my ignore list, all added since I got my hd7 and the wp7 bashing began on this site.
My guess is it will hit it just before the second update (rumoured) February update.
a thread like this just got closed... how long will it take for this to as well i wonder...
It must have already sold a million I would guess as it was released in many countries...the Samsung and HD7 were sold out in many European countries for sometime...

The Pre sold 300,000 in its first month, in the US.
WP7 sold less than a million so far (400-700,000), so we're looking at 200-500,000 in its first month. Measured against overall smartphone sales (2010 vs. 2009) that's a lot less than the Pre.

where are people getting their numbers ? (this isn't a flame) the difference between 200 and 500,000 or 400-700,000 is quite a hump !
if i see someone with a wp7 phone, i'll definitely remember it.

The pre only sold 486,000 units in the first quarter?
In less than 2 months WP has half that amount of people using facebook applications each day - never mind units sold.

Did you ever read what you wrote?
If 200,000 to 500,000 sold in the first month then it either matched or far exceeded Pre's initial months sales. (hint 500,000 is more than 300,000)
Ignoring the fact that your numbers are ROMA data.
I'd like to warn anyone who is considering purchasing their Galaxy Nexus from Handtec to think twice! Handtec does their business in a VERY unprofessional manner and it may impact you receiving the device you paid for as a result. I pre-ordered a Galaxy Nexus with them on 11-18 in the morning. A few hours later I received an email from them stating " Thank you for your purchase with Handtec..
This email is to notify you that your order has passed all security checks.
Your order is ready to be processed according to your selected delivery options and subject to stock availability.
Once your order is shipped you should receive tracking via email.
Please keep your order number safe for future reference to your purchase."
I later found out that in order to get information from them you have to constantly check their blog site because they don't update their official site with up to date information regarding their products, and even worse THEY DON'T COMMUNICATE INFORMATION REGARDING CHANGES IN PRODUCTS TO THOSE THAT ARE AWAITING THEIR ORDERS! What happened is that due to a bug that effects some Galaxy Nexus devices, HANDTEC STOPPED SHIPPING PHONES OUT unbeknownst to me. They also state on their blog that if you want to still receive your phone, that you have to email them and let them know. Well how the hell am I supposed to know to email you to let you know that I still want my phone IF YOU NEVER CONTACTED ME TO LET ME KNOW I NEED TO DO THAT?!!! I don't check your blog every single day! Ironically enough, I had a live chat with them this morning after checking their blog to confirm that they were indeed shipping. At the time that I checked their blog this morning it simply stated they were shipping devices. I contacted handtec to request that they ensure that my device would be shipped out today. Well apparently later on in the day they updated the blog to state they aren't shipping out anymore unless you email them to request it. Well...SINCE THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME IN ANY WAY TO LET ME KNOW OF THIS CHANGE I NOW WILL BE DELAYED IN RECEIVING MY PHONE.
Handtec is COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! Customers don't check your blog site everyday multiple times a day. I paid damn near $700 for a device that I EXPECT TO RECEIVE ASAP. If they are concerned if people still want it, then they should email people and let them know their phone will ship, and that if they do not want it, that they should email them to let them know. The concept of by default not shipping someone a product they just paid $700 for is ASININE! The concept that they only communicate updates concerning products people have paid for on a blog site or twitter is EVEN MORE ASININE AND BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL. If I were not a member here at XDA I would never have even known that I needed to email them to have them ship my phone...since the last correspondence I received from them stated my order was being processed...and that when I spoke to them on the live chat this morning they made no mention of this. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. There are people who have ordered from other places that have had much better experiences (like clove, negri electronics, expansys, etc). I wrote this to warn anyone who is considering purchasing from HANDTEC....DON'T DO IT. ORDER YOUR PHONE FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
And to those who may say well you only have to wait one more day...it isn't that simple. I expected to receive my phone before Thanksgiving. I will be leaving for Thanksgiving and won't be back for a little while. Fedex will only hold your package for a short period of time, after which they return it to the sender. So this ineptitude on the part of Handtec has caused a problem.
I think you're overreacting, it makes sense that they stop shipping on a defective product, and it also makes sense that they let you know it is defective before they shipped it to you. I'm sure if you lived in an area where you used the 900mhz frequency you would be more grateful.
actually i disagree with you this is a faulty product with a serious flaw until it is rectified they are selling a known faulty device under the pretence that its ok
yes they could've kept shipping like clove but personally i like that they ceased orders rather than ship a faulty product, that in the event of a recall would require everyone to send it back.
we all knew this had happened hours ago
handtec is a good reputable company who chose this option to avoid mass returns due to a potential recall. this way YOU are responsible for returns cause you knew ahead of time that it would arrive essentially broken
however i do think a mass email should've gone out to everyone saying they had ceased and what to do rather than just leave it up to the blog that i do agree with
this thread should be deleted :\
Sooo...you're going to receive your phone a day late?
Have you called the news yet? You might still have time to get it on the 8 o'clock special.
Jokes and sarcasm aside, it sucks when a company doesn't keep you up to date on something that's happening...but they most likely got more orders in a few days than your entire family has ever placed of *anything* in their lives. For a smaller company without a sufficient content-management solution it would be *incredibly* difficult to notify all the users that ordered this device that there was an issue.
Beyond that...you're flying off the handle because you won't get your phone for 1 more day? People that have Verizon were expecting to receive the phone before any other carrier in the world and now we're waiting until the 8th of December (possibly later). You don't see me flipping out about it to Verizon...because I'm an adult who has other things to occupy my time with.
Maybe get a hobby?
As I see it, you received the same email I received. I placed my order on Monday of this week. Not once did I receive an email notifying me of stock arrival, that I discovered on their site as well as here. So I waited, I also learned from these two same sources that they not only checked the stock for a known issue with the device but that they discovered it and halted shipping. Completely professional. The same methods they used to notify everyone of stock arrival is the same method they used to notify everyone that there are issues and they aren't shipping. They even provided you with a way to notify them if you don't mind receiving defective merchandise than let them know. Several did and they received emails of their shipments going out.
I had asked them to ship my product even its defective and they have still not shipped it. I won't be getting by thanksgiving now. I did email them that i am unhappy with it.. i don't think so they cared about that email. Its good thing they did ship the defective product at first time, but not letting customers know about it is bad.

No we didn't all know this happened hours ago. Had I known, I would have emailed them. They made absolutely no attempt to notify their customers of this change. If they are going to err on the side of not shipping, THEN THEY SHOULD AT THE VERY LEAST NOTIFY THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ALREADY WAITING. Completely unprofessional.

I read very well, actually. I read your post saying you'd be out of town and wouldn't be able to get it right away. How long is out of town? Since you didn't say, my guess would be a matter of days. I'm going to be out of town this coming weekend, as well, and if Verizon launches the phone this weekend I'll say, "Hmm. Well I guess my life comes first and I'll have to pick up the phone when I get the chance in the future".
Once again, because I'm an adult and have priorities that outweigh receiving a gadget before everyone else that won't have an effect on my life in any way.
I understand you're mad, but you're flying off the handle and about to burst a blood vessel because you might have to wait awhile for a device that just released. If this isn't a first-world problem, I don't know what is.
When I was in the military I didn't complain and cry because I was going to miss Christmas...because I understood what the word "priority" meant. Put it on the backburner and get it when you get it. It's *really* not that big of a deal.

I've bought lots of stuff from both Handtec and Clove and never had a problem that was within their control. They rely on both distributors and Samsung to receive their products (they don't get product direct from Samsung) and, with high-demand devices, the communication can get muddled. Samsung's not exactly communicative.
If this has you wigged out, you definately shouldn't have imported a phone. If it needs service and you have to be without it for a month while it's repaired in the UK you will probably go apoplectic.
As far as not notifying (those that have preordered) people by direct email correspondence (at the time the decision was made to stop shipping) is unacceptable as far as I'm concerned, and if they don't have the ability to send a batch email of this type is not my concern.
In the future this type of business practice will weigh heavily on my decision whether or not to purchase from Handtec.
You are missing the point of my statement. For pre ordered devices, Handtech has a method in which they notify people of when they receive stock and that is their blog. I could understand you being upset if they emailed you saying it was in and then didn't email you to tell you to communicate if you want them to send it now. But that didn't happen. But I get it, you are angry, you wanted it before your trip, so don't do business with them. There is an entire other thread for Handtech and most over there seem to be happy with how they have handled it.
PS: Also, we know this issue effects 900mhz bands, none of us know how 850mhz will work out. For a $700 device, as you pointed out, wouldn't you want to know the issue isn't happening here in the US too?

First, save your little internet catch phrases for someone else. And quite frankly I don't really give a damn about what you thought when you were in the military. That has absolutely no bearing on what I'm discussing. The bottom line is, I'm not receiving what I was supposed to be receiving when I was supposed to be receiving it, WHEN I PAID TO RECEIVE IT WHEN I WAS SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE IT. It's that simple. Due to a company's ineptitude and unprofessionalism this situation has arised. If you can't seem to grasp that then I don't know how else to put it to you. When I pay for something I expect to receive it according to the terms I agreed to when I paid for it. I don't think that's asking too much. At the very least if there is a change, I expect to be notified in a proper manner of the change. All they had to do was email me, and I would have responded immediately and all of this could have very easily been avoided. You ordered on the 18th right? Defects aside, you do realize no one knew on that day when they would actually be receiving their shipment? If you were familiar with importing a device, or asked ahead of time you would have known that "Expected Stock Dates" are in flux until they get it in hand.

What a ridiculous over reaction by the OP. Yes it's frustrating and had I not been keeping an eye on this forum I might have missed the blog entry. I've chosen to take delivery of my device but I still think Handtec made the right decision. The way it was communicated was poor but have clove etc done a better job? No they haven't.
In the end I emailed them at 5.30pm (UK time), I received an email with the tracking ref at 7.05pm and a final email from customer services at 9pm. (NB they ordinarily shut at 5.30pm).

This has nothing to do with Handtec not communicating with their customer and them HOPING you happen to go to their blog site. If the last email you received from them tells you that your order is being processed then you may not ever even check their blog...because you're under the impression that your order is being processed. You're missing the point. Their method of communication is inadequate. It operates on the assumption that you will continuously and repeatedly check their blog. Let me remind you that I DID CHECK THEIR BLOG THIS MORNING BEFORE GETTING ON THE LIVE CHAT WITH THEM. I don't know about you, but I tend to not check company's blogs several times per day. I checked it today and that information was not there. THIS is why they need to communicate directly with their customers. Posting on twitter or a blog IS UNPROFESSIONAL! Furthermore, some people may not ever check their blog...so how will they get information about THEIR ORDERS?...look at it this way, if the last email you received from them tells you that your order is being processed then you may not ever even check their blog...because you're under the impression that your order is being processed. Your argument would be valid if there was a definitive shipping date, and if the phones weren't defective.
For what it's worth, I just received an email stating shipments are on hold and the reasons. Professional? Like I said, with prdordrrs never hold the estimated dare on stone, will lead to disappointment.

Ive had my One X for a couple of days now after upgrading from a desire and its not all it lives up to be for me. Heres what im experiencing so far:
- laggy UI
- sense crashes after using an app for a long period of time
- for a quad core phone it doesnt seem that fast, the browser is slow to zoom / drag and crashes sometimes
- APN settings are locked so i cant set up tethering
- i randomly get no signal in places where i know theres fantastic coverage
- movie maker has a bug where if the phone goes to sleep/standby whilst a movie is rendering then the program crashes and is very difficult to stabilise the phone
- limited mobile network settings
The desire is just so much more perfected and bug free, i can count the number of crashes and problems for the 2 years i had it on one hand. Brilliant phone. The one X on the other hand is starting to do my head in already..
Saying that, i did buy the desire at least 6 months or so after it was first released. The one X is a VERY new device only being a few days from release at the time of this post. Im hoping updates etc sort this phone out and turn it into a stable powerhouse that it claims to be.
Thoughts / advice on any of the issues ive mentioned? Maybe ive just got an iffy handset? Its on orange, and the limited white edition from phones 4 u.
Sam
I switched from the desire and am not missing the limited internal memory. On my desire I went to a custom rom to do anything when I ran out of space.
Only down side is battery life with screen on is so far about 4 hours but standby power usage is amazing, hardly drops with 4 email accounts syncing and countless other sync jobs.
I wasn't sure drop box integration would work. But it makes managing pics so easy.
Wait for HTC update that should sort some of the early adoption issues. Use chrome browser for internet. So smooth.
One x screen is the best I have experienced on any phone. Have you forgotten you couldn't even see the desire screen in daylight.
I still have my rooted if you want to swap.

if you don't want a phone with teething problems, don't buy a phone on day one. If you do buy on day one, expect issues. I have had 10s of phones from Windows to Symbian, IOS to Android to Meego. Not 1 phone that i got when it first came out did not have issues.
i wonder if quad core has any thing to do with this...meaning old software may not work as well with a quad vs a dual core
HTC need to send the update out which people say improve battery life. I had a custom ics on my old desire and some app crashes is just that apps need to work better with ICS things like threading background tasks etc. I think it's an ics feature so you don't have apps keeping battery awake

I have a hunch it is the orange bloatware messing things up if your phone is branded.
Otherwise, check firmware version, what is it?
What do you mean limited mobile network setting?
just because its quad core doesnt mean you arent going to experience any issues, as ppl think ooo quad core and its the fastest and if its not im throwing dummy out,
as mentioned about a day one release phone= many issues to start with ....
its an amazing phone
thxs 4 your opinion.okay.bye!

The desire screen must be the most useless mobile screen ever made for daylight use. It's truly terrible

I am having the same issues, and also came from a desire. Give this phone time, HTC can't be relied upon to produce the software, so wait for non-HTC root and turn to the community to fix the phone
So much for a new start, nothing worse than receiving a £500 device which is flawed due to buggy and rushed software implementation.
Not quite quietly brilliant....
stop stop stop this getting too ridiculous
do you really expect a device on a new major OS revision and Skin and a completely new SOC vendor to work bug free from day one? ur kidding, then why did they make the very idea of OTA if a bug free software is achievable from day one
I agree its disappointing to have this much defects and s major Tegra3 bug but comeon already the One X is just begining of a long journey
have some patience do you remember how ridiculous the desire was on android 2.1??

when the company you are purchasing from tells you they've sorted themselves out and are releasing a new flagship product, then i'd expect 1 or 2 defects, yes. That's not what's happening here is it?
guy: wow, that the new one x?
me: yeah
guy: ewww.. look at that lag, my sensation doesn't do that! and look at that stupid camera, that's going to get scratched in no time... oh, is your screen flashing? wait, it's falling off! ...did you charge this? it's 11am and you have like 30% battery!
me: yeh, err, there's a patch coming that err, might fix it! but we only have the chinese version and I can't root without voiding my warranty!
guy: how much was it again?
apple guy (interject): LOL

I agree the one x is going to get better and better as did my hd2 and every android phone I've owned, let's give it time..but to the people reporting a loose volume button if u shake the phone really hard come on how often do u shake it phone about? Love the X

I must agree with zombiefly here... The bugs should be in the small parts. Not in the main parth of the phone, like games, screens and browser... glitching, lag and... Should be minimilised. And these factors are the biggest problems on the one X however.
Problems like a calendar with over 20 appointment doing weird is a bug that no one would really go crazy abouth. And that this is a bug that made the first release is understandable. The first part of the problems I mentioned, isn't...
two things I don't understand
90% of the reviewers were floored by the device and believe me the same sites that used to slaughter HTC for the past year and yet no one complained about one bug, in fact most said its bugs free
in the poll thread u have around 80% saying their device is perfect, I myself bought two and found non
so you tell me who should I believe? 10% if the reviewers, 20% of the users in the general section or lie to myself?
you know what it just hit me, I'm willing to bet most complaints are coming from previous iPhone and Samsung users just because are different than what they r used to
my iBoss once decided to buy my old desire out of curiosity and man he almost committed suicide, he didn't last two days and said everything is broken and not working, hek his face started to deform
the very same Desire that our OP in here said is better than the One X
besides the genuine factory defects and the Tegra3 bug I call every other complaint subjective

Agreed: Now I do understand bugs are there in just about every phone and to be honest they are normally bugs you can live with until an update; the problem here is that the bugs are completely preventing the use of the device and/or making the use of the device very difficult. No phone should be released with this being the case.

That thread is about built quality though not about the actually OS of the phone and the issues when using the device. The majority of bugs are not acceptable to be honest... We all understand there will be bugs (i said this above) but they should affect the actually ability to use the phone.
If you come from a Desire, then you must remember how it was in the beggining... the Desire matured really well with updates, also had its fair share of problemas in the beggining. Was a great phone though, as is the One X.
Give it time, the phone is already awesome, but with AOSP + a good custom kernel this is going to be even better

Agreed the phone is an amazing device; no doubt the best I have used. Some of the bugs are easy to be patient with (providing they will be fixed), some of them though are serious and do cause major issues. I guess it all depends on how quickly an update will be out; I mean lets be fair in the UK this phone has only been out for just under 2 weeks now SIM Free and just over a week on carriers and no doubts its sold shed loads!
My issue is how quickly will an update come out? Also will it come out on SIM Free first; and if it does how long after will it be before the carriers release the update? The last thing I want is to be sat using a phone with bugs for the next month or two and I think most people would think the same. If its a matter of a week or two for most/all the bugs to be fixed then everyone would be happy to wait.
It's a shame there has been no reports from HTC on this...
can i just say that i have had the phone a week
no bugs
no juddering display
no lag in apps or Chrome
no crashes
and battery lasts me over 24 hours no problem since day 1 (was careful with first 3 charges)
i am very pleased with my first Android handset having had Blackberrys/iPhones for past few years and i hope to remain an Android user for many years to come.

Tell them to come back to you after 1 or 2 months when the custom ROMs are starting to come in droves and your battery is broken in properly, we'll see who's the daddy
Seriously people: early adopters = beta testers. It seems to be the norm these days. I'm not saying it's OK, just that it's happening, like it or not. Give the phone a little time.

^^The man's right. 2 years ago I bought the flagship phone of the time: the Desire, and I still vividly remember how terrible it was when I got it, both software and battery wise; 3-4-5 hours out of the box, like the One X now. The battery got a LOT better with use, over the course of a couple of weeks, and most of the software problems were sorted, albeit by custom ROM chefs. Don't know about official HTC soft though, as I rooted within a week of getting the Desire and put on a non-Sense ROM - I never looked back. It'll be the first thing to do again when I pick up the 1X, I hate Sense with a passion.
To be honest, this whole "omfg crap battery" and "omfg buggy software" thing is a bit of a storm in a teacup. I suspect immature Tegra drivers in the background, also the 4 main cores do a lot more work than they're supposed to, probably because most of the apps out there still need to be optimised for ICS. I'm confident it'll get sorted and I still plan to buy the 1X once I get the finances sorted, it's the first phone I'd consider replacing my Desire with.
Does anyone know when this watch is going to be released? I read somewhere that it might get released at the end of September, but on here it's showing November 2014.

It depends if you mean the US or Europe. Based on this video taken by CNET France, it looks like it's set for early to mid December, but the video said nothing about differing prices overseas, so based on the fact that most watches are being globally released at the same time, it's safe to assume that the date in the video is for both regions.
Also, the video lists the complete specifications which were on display. (Link to specific time here).
Apparently it has a 369 mAh battery. Not the top of the line, but not nearly the lowest, either. considering it has an AMOLED display, the battery life will be severely determined by how much of the screen is covered with completely black pixels. A proper watch face theme to compliment this will greatly increase battery life, as AMOLED means that all black pixels are actually not being powered. The results in the dark are also quite stunningly delicious to look at, by the way. (I own a Moto X that has a AMOLED display. The max hours I've had it running with a set of 400+ apps installed (including system) was 41 hours.
This, of course, took a bit of tweaking with some root apps... but considering the smartwatches don't have much running on them and the feature set on them are dependent on what apps are installed on your phone, rooting will most likely never be necessary for them.
I was speaking in terms of North American release date. Being that I'm in Canada, I'll probably get screwed on the launch date here, usually happens that way.
I heard for release date was to try before Christmas. As they have said try may end up being 2015. Hope it soon this is the one watch I'm looking forward to

I have a Pebble currently, and it's really nice, love the 5-7 day battery life on it. But I want something a little classier, and for a little more than the Pebble Steel I can get this watch.
I think it's really stupid that Samsung and Apple released watches that only work with their phones. Completely cuts off a lot of potential users. Glad Asus didn't do that.

I find this highly unlikely. Why would they do a large public unveiling, only to make 300 devices?

I spent 3 1/2 hours today driving and calling one Best Buy after another before someone actually was helpful enough to look into it more deeply and tell me that not only did they not have it, they never received any and in fact, no Best Buy store in Southern California had received or sold any.
Went to T-Mobile and bought the Samsung Gear S.
I went to 3 different best buys. nobody had it. i went and bought a casio g-shock instead.
Good job Asus
Getting worse by the minute. Now it's in best buy's system, but they've upped the price to 229.00

still not available anywhere, but you can spend more than they said to not have it now at least. I'll pass. There are plenty of good alternative options, and more in the pipeline.
Been waiting patiently for a while now
Its getting to be a bit of a farce!
One of the main reasons I got my previous Pixels was that you received the updates first, like clockwork.
The P6P has some major issues, FPS!!, screen going blank, Reception etc. Yet we get it after all the other Pixels!?
And to top it off if you live in the "Google blind spot", ie not USA, you havent even got the FPS fix to make it usable!
So, we get to the delayed date and, SURPRISE! No update again.
Is something going on that we dont know about, feel like a Beta tester and I paid them nearly £1000 to do it!!!!
I don't have any issues with my pixel 6 pro but I'm hoping to get the update today and see if there are any improvements
Nothing yet, might be in around 2-3 hours from now

If you wish to spend your money and follow what Google says like a "sheep" without voicing your dissatisfaction, then that too is your right.
To paraphrase a brilliant quote "All that is needed for poor service to continue to happen is for good customers to do nothing", I have raised my concerns with Google and would encourage others to raise your voice too.

You are right to voice criticism. Googles behaviour is unacceptable, since they let their new flagship users wait beyond the usual update time without any explanation given. We should have a clear window to expect - not "in a week" - that's a joke. Google is the biggest company in the world, anyone here seriously believe they don't have fixed, internal deadlines? They should simply make a counter: Here, that's when we will start pushing the update.
Should be out around 1pm est.

They did exactly that, they said it would be released today (13th). As today is not over (and they don't usually release updates until in the PST time zone ) and was never likely to be AM for the CET time zone.
There will be a lot more fixes in the release for the Pixel 6 than applied to the older models, they most likely wanted to test out the fixes that applied to them in the real world and also have some more time to test the Pixel 6 specific fixes. Better to get it right than rush out bad updates which make things worse in the eyes of those who have issues.
I can understand frustration if you are being seriously hampered by an issue (most people aren't, with minor irritations), but at least give it until the window they said has closed.

I'm very pleased for you. Pointing out that you are one of the lucky ones hardly helps those of us with issues, just kind of rubs peoples noses in it. Nope, I said I "feel" like a beta tester, big difference. With the G1 it was a first of a kind, early adopters of new tech/OS often end up with fixes after launch.
OTAs/Factory images usually drop around 10 am PST. You still have 2 hours to go!

This is all that matters. Back in the days - before patches - products had to function at launch, since there was no way to fix anything. Once it was in the hands of your customer, there was no choice - either the product worked without issue and you got good press and recommendation, or your product was buggy and people stopped buying it.
Nowadays, companies just don't give a s*it - they release buggy products and there are customers that have the audacity to even support that kind of behavior. Instead of working together in order to get companies to fix their sh*t BEFORE launch, people divide themselves amongst "patience" or "you can't expect them to fix stuff in time" - aha. Well, we can. The nanosecond we buy a thousanddollar product. We are not talking about a 2 dollar china toy, we are talking about a state of the art, high-end flagship - that's simply supposed to work without issue. And if major issues arise, criticism is of paramount importance.
Many bugs we face today have been known since Android 12 has launched it's first beta - 18 May 2021 - that's roughly 7 months time for Google to fix stuff. They didn't.
And here we are not even talking about Pixel 6 specific bugs, simply Android ones.

I actually wonder how many problems there really are that are really bugs or just user error. When the Note 20 Ultra first came out there were quite a few people having issues with it here on XDA but what it boiled down to in the end was that they were transferring data from another phone and most weren't even a Samsung phone. Also if it were an Android 12 issue we would all have it not just a select few!
