How to disable Fast Dormancy Mode? - HTC One X

the code *#9900# doesn't work for me, supposed to open a menu.
*#*#9900#*#* doesn't do anything, just disappears.

If you are rooted you can edit this line in system/build.prop from '1' to '0'.

Great, thanks I'm not rooted yet, waiting for S-Off.
I wonder if anyone disabled Fast Dormancy on One X and did it improve battery?

ever done this before?

So I get on my samsung focus (at&t locked) and go onto the diagnostic mode (via the tethering hack) and type in different combos untill I get to a menu called Test Mode with some weird numbers and a back and end key. type this into your diagnostic mode (app) and you will see the same thing *#1111# and then I pushed another # for good measure and, sure enough it led me to the screen. Once this is tested, can someone PLEASE tell me what it is for? (ps, my phone will also not turn off or dim in this mode) (also, diagnostic menu has become an app now in my app list??!?)

That's the Samsung Diagnosis App on WP7, people have been using it for months now, here are some 60 codes that I could come up by brute-forcing the hash function in the app [1] and [2]

[Q] Power Saver Mode ON by default?

I have low needs for my phone and would like to have power saver enabled automatically, however I cannot find a way to do this. Is there any setting, app, tweak, command etc. that will enable power saving mode to start automatically and be the default mode?
I have turned on Powersaver and rebooted my phone. Powersaver stayed active.
I have turned on Extreme Powersaver and rebooted my phone. Extreme Powersaver dit not stay active.
If you require Powersaver only, then it shouldn't turn off once you activate it. If you're referring to Extreme Powersaver, I wasn't able to find anything on that. I will add that I do have a custom ROM. I am not sure if the ROM is why Powersaver stays on or not.
For your use I would do this:
Turn on Powersaver
Turn off Sync
GPS Off (Go to Settings >> Location >> Mode: "Battery Saving")
Turn off scanning for WiFi even while it's off (Go to Settings >> WiFi >> [Click the menu button, 3 dots on top right] >> Advanced >> Uncheck "Scanning always available" There's some other settings you may want to look at as well, like "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" and whatnot.
This is all I can think of to help you out a bit more. If you don't use the internet for background syncing, you can turn off data and turn it on when you get ready to check something. In better service areas, you'll usually have data by time you're done toggling the service.
Thx. you are right about power saving staying enabled through a reboot. However, I would like to not to accidentally disable it. Is there a way to keep power saving enabled and have it not show up on the lockscreen? There should be a way to disable lockscreen notifications for power saver but I can't find one.

hidden menu

shall i disable fast dormancy from hidden menu in G4 ?

Soft Charge Missing??

Soft Charge missing?
Missing the soft charge feature on Android mm. I checked in about phone / status and cannot get find the option. I used to get a notification that asked me if I wanted to utilize it but no longer.
Point me in the right direction plz?
Edit: Charge optimization feature used to be under settings/about phone/status
Really? Nothing?

Is there a way to disable high precision location (GPS) on Android Pie?

I would like to leave a coarse location-based app running in foreground. Is there a way to somehow disable the GPS from running? Having GPS on constantly would destroy the battery life. In the past (Oreo and before), I could solely use Wifi/Cell to provide coarse location in battery-saving mode, but this no longer seems possible in Android 9.0 Pie.
Anyone have a solution? I'd hate to have to switch back to Oreo.
Samsung Galaxy S9+ rooted with magisk. So if there's some module that can shut-off the GPS radio while leaving wifi/tower location enabled I would be interested.
Thanks!
fyi...
The old battery saving option seems to be there.
On the Pixel phones you can enable it via "developer options" -> "featured flag"
Samsung decided to ditch this feature flag, why i don't know.
But with tasker and my unrooted S9 i could enable the battery saving mode.
Although you can't verify i think it works.
As i use Life360 which triggers the GPS when opened and haven't seen the GPS icon since i toggled to battery saving mode.
So as lomg as it works i'm happy.

Can you please explane by steps, never used Tasker Im quiet lost I coudn't find the steps you mentionned, thx a lot !
It aint that hard.
At the moment no time to make a guide.
1. Install tasker app from playstore
2. Give Tasker as described in their thread via ADB write privilege.
3. Create a task on action "Location mode" and let it do battery saving.
