I looked at your phone and is pretty good in specs but I think this is not possible to update to ICS because there is no ICS release official or not for your phone
If you know something about an ICS release tell me to know and I can help if you encounter problems when updating also I think GB is pretty good !
A good day to you man !

You are just too good I know the CPU is less for ICS, still I wanted to see if ICS/mod could be stamped on it. Do you have any idea what could be the best/optimized ROM for this device?
I believe this is the most alluring device for the cheapest price in the world with a dual SIM shock lol
Thank you again man.

yes this phone is good in specs especially about screen as I said but seems to be no roms for it did you find one ? unfortunately I don't have it to tell you more..anyway my advice is :never flash roms not made for your phone that will cause a hardware failure !

You are absolutely correct. I think this phone is compatible with some HTC model... I will research some more and will update here if I find something.
This phone is very not popular and i think that you will not found ICS ROM. Any way ICS will not work very good on hardware f the phone. My suggest is to sell it and to buy some HTC phone like....Desire or similar ;]
Thanks Have a nice day ;]

I don't have to sell it, give it away, or even use it. All I need to see how far it can be pushed.
Symphony phone are cheap and doen not have good built quality... i don't think your can "push" the device any further from what its running on now! ...these sets are made from 2nd grade material to make them cheap in the market....imo...be happy with what you have! that's as good as it gets!
Ruscan seems to be the only one getting the point, this is not a device I need to be happy with, I simply need to see how far it can be taken, especially on the OS layer, I am even interested to see if BSD can be installed on it
Let me just say I want to put it under the trial if 2.3.4 can be replaced with ICS (even if Google stock ROM).
Not Symphony, I am a Samsung fan and I love WinMo over Androids. Still it felt better when I had Android side by side (with Harrot) on my WinMo (Omnia II).

The same as everyone else, make your own mind up.
i just wanna know is it possible to revert back to official gb..??
or after updating ics with acustom rom can arc s have all ics features plus smooth performance??
well on icS everything is smooth except few games..if u are a hardcore gamer then btr stick with gb..or else feel free to try ics
u can always go back to GB
the whole ROM thing is kinda "YMMV" - it works great for some, but doesn't for someone else. Try some popular ROM and kernel and find out what works best.

you can definitely return back to gb if you have an unlocked bootloader. and why dont you consider installing custom kernels or roms on your phone?
Yes ICS is really cool . iam runing on ICS 4.0.4 on my ARC S.full stock. i did not unlock my bootloader yet since i just bought it recently (still have my warranty) . i suggest u go for the Jump. ICS is real smooth. Hey if u Jump u can always Fall back . u can return to GB anytime u want. its your Handset, it's your decision.with a little help from Everyone here WE can FLY UP & Down as we Wish , after all it's our wings.:silly::highfive:
Go ahead and update to ICS its smooth and good. Then dont worry about going back to GB, its very easy and YOU DONT NEED TO UNLOCK BOOT LOADER. There is a tool called flashtool you can use it and flash any Sony offical ROM on to your phone. If you want more internal memory you can root your phone and get rid of unwanted apps. A little advice, use Sony Update service to update your phone not PC Companion. When updating through SUS choose to erase all and install update. it makes the phone smooth. Just updating using PC Companion dont erase data and you will experience a some lag.

You can return to stock GB even with a locked bootloader (as I did). Just flash a SE stock GB ROM using Flashtool.
In regard to the original question, in my humble opinion, the performance drawback of ICS on Xperia Arc S and the buggy video shooting capability could not be outweighed by the advantages of ICS (which are debatable; one that stuck with me was the ability to dictate to the phone continuously, can hardly remember any other advantage at all, apart from the allegedly improved photo quality). So, in short, ICS was a pain in the ass for me, I'm back to Gingerbread and cannot believe this is the same sluggish and inoperable phone it was under ICS.
Your mileage may vary, and given that you can revert back to GB safely, it makes sense to try ICS for yourself and decide.

and to get rid of unwanted system apps??
Root your phone. (There are plenty of threads on that already).
Get Link2SD. See it up using XperiaBlog's guide. No more issues with low memory.
Get Titanium Backup. Helps you remove even those hard to remove apps.

Xperia Arc bricked, no led, no charg

Hey Guys,
I've a big problem. I know everyone here has but my one is really big .
I have a Xperia Arc. So far so good.
Yersterday i flashed this
- kernel ArcKnight Kernel RC3.5.1
and installed this
- rom Xperia Ice Cream Pureness[Build 8]
And tomorrow i noticed that my Xperia don't do his job anymore.
When i'm trying to start it, it does nothing... I can't charge it - there is no led and PC don't find it...
What do you think guys? Can you please give me an advice how to fix this problem, and please no jokes.. I'm still crying about that...
well, obviously there was a bootloop which consumed all of your battery in about 12 hrs.
1)now what you need to do is, charge the battery using external sources
2)download the stock kernel from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680793 (i assume that you have 4.0.4 flashed on your phone....from before)
3)flash the stock kernel on your phone....
4)the rom should boot up normally....
5)try this and post what happened
hit thanks if it helped
Our arc neva dies

[Q] A bit of help :D

Hi guys
Well, I'm buying a new Galaxy Note 8.0 next week or the other, and after seeing such as root and recovery, it seemed pretty easy to root and install TWRP with the toolkit
But after doing anything I thought it would be useful if some of you can answer me some questions
Well, first of all I'm not a noob do I know what am I doing ^-^
First of all, when I was seeing the unofficial CM10.2 thread, I saw that I have to unlock the boot loader to flash it, but I couldn't find any thread of how to do it so, if you could tell me
And finally, I wanted to know what's the best ROM for gaming... I will use a lot the tablet with my sister, so I need a ROM that can handle very well for playing heavy games like MC4 or dead trigger, and installing A LOT of stupid apps (sister). So I would like a ROM that has the possibility to OC
Hope you read everything don't be a ***** jajajaja
Cheers
use chainfires rooting method, and you can flash any rom you want; no bootloader unlock needed, for the 5110; if you get a different model, then I cant speak to it..

Flashing Kernel

Hello and Good day (again),
I'm very sorry for multi-posting but I would just like to ask if there is any way of flashing the kernel without using fastboot?!, my phones bootloader is unlocked but my network carrier is locked, that's why I can't access fastboot.
Specifications:
Model: Xperia Play R800at
Carrier: AT&T
Rooted: Yes
Recovery: CWM
Bootloader Status: Unlocked (Using Testpoint Method)
ROM: Stock ROM (Xperia Play_3.0.1.B.0.270_ATT.ftf)

Yes that is right, I unlocked it using Test Point Method . And I'm also curious about this, if your bootloader is unlocked, then does that also mean that your bootloader is unlocked even if you changed your ROM?
And I'm also thinking of installing ICS if possible .

Yea, Version 13 of lupus Kernel its right their, its under the Jellybean Section(as its only works for JB ROMs).
Yes your Bootloader is Unlock permanently. You can change ROMs, Kernels and even go back to the Stock ROM and your Bootloader will stay Unlocked.
EDIT:
ICS is Possible, you can actually go up to JB and everything works on it.

You can find a lot of ROMs under the Android Development section of the Xperia Play Sub-Forum here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-play/development
My Personal favorite JB ROMs are this ones(if you want to try them out):
[ROM][GSM+CDMA][Play+Neo L]Slimbean 5.1.1[MULTIBOOT][02-03-2014]
[ROM][GSM][CDMA][CM10][MULTIBOOT][NEOL+PLAY]Racing SPEED EDITION EOL[12/02/2014]
If you really are looking for the best gaming performance then I recommend sticking to Gingerbread.
And yes there is a Kitkat ROM but a lot of things don't work on it yet like WiFi and the Camera.

Oh I see, but my problem on Gingerbread is that Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VI, Minecraft and many other games are not supported xD, and Nova Launcher is not also supported so I'm thinking of reverting to a higher firmware . And I would also like to ask if what's the 720p and 480p on Lupus Kernel?!, does that mean 480=Partial and 720=Full?
I would also like to apologize for my long and tedious questions .

Yea, you will probably need to try out different ROMs to see which one fits your needs the best. The 720p and 480p are the camera resolutions, if you use a 480p Kernel you will get more Free RAM.
I have no problem answering your questions, just remember to click on the "Thanks" button but you can probably find the answer faster if you search instead of waiting for some one to reply. There is even a search bar if you only want to search on this Thread(on the right side).

Oh I see, meaning 720p eats more RAM than the 480p? If so then I think I'll go with 480p . Yep, I always give proper credits to the one's that help me , I would also like to thank you rather than just hit the Thanks button . And a few last questions, is it best to use Lupus Kernel or Turbo on a JB ROM? And I've seen this:
* Flash FTF 62 or 79,if already have it,no need.
Does that mean that I have to find a suitable .62 or .79 Stock ROM for my device since I'm on .270 or should I should just flash the Kernel and ROM directly?

Yes, 720p eats more RAM then 480p. Your welcome . I don't know which one is best (and technically asking whats the best ROM/Kernel is not allowed in XDA), I mostly used Lupus Kernel but Turbo Kernel does have the ability to multiboot so its kind of a preference thing.
Oh, I just noticed you have the the R800at which means your phone is CDMA. I really cant help you much with this since I know very little when it comes to the CDMA model of the Xperia Play. Your going to have to do some research. What I know is that there should be no problem with the Kernels, what you need to look for is that the ROM you want to install on your Phone is made for the CDMA model of the Xperia Play(it usually states it on the tittle).
