Hey guys,
I currently have a G2. I was wondering how the GN works on tmobile, I live in Hawaii by the way. I keep hearing mixed reviews about reception, call quality and data speeds. I am really liking the big screen. I also heard that there are different versions of the gsm model? which one should i look for?
thanks

so, im pretty sure everyone has heard about the korean radio that gave the nexus one a 10x 3G Speed Increase, and i just wanted to know if anyone can port that over into the Incredible. im new to radios, so i dont know if there has to be any requirements for them.
also, ive also heard the speed increases are because of t-mobile releasing HSPA+ and not the radios, can anyone verify?
I've not heard about that, and all the reports I can find show a marginal at best improvement, and a 10x increase on an EVDO rev A network is impossible. The data rates just are not there.
I don't see this working in any way on the DInc since T-Mobile is a GSM network and Verizon is CDMA (hurry up and get LTE launched worldwide people! =p).
Hello all. I took advantage of Google's decision to sell the Galaxy Nexus and bought myself one. It'll be here tomorrow. I'm pretty stoked.
I was wondering if anyone who has one of the GSM models would mind commenting on signal strength on AT&T. I have heard good and bad things and I know most of the issues are related to the Verizon model.
Anyone else out there using one on AT&T? How is your signal strength? DBMs? Any comments on dropped calls or data issues?
I have great service with ATT and my nexus. Always have. The GSM version doesn't really have any signal issues like the Verizon one, so you'll be fine.
After a great 10 years with Tmobile and most recently on my Mike AHRD supported HTC Sensation with blazing speed. I bit the bullet after seeing my neighbors blazing 32down ave speed on Verizon 4g LTE here in Seattle WA USA area.
I was at end of my TMOUS contract and did the switch to Verizon and with not wanting to shell out the big bucks for the latest and greatest SG3. I knew MIKE AHRD was very high on the Galaxy Nexus for CDMA LTE and was a chef here too. I got 2 free new Galaxy Nexus phones from Best Buy. One for me and one for the wife.
Upon turning them both on my wifes did an immediate software update to firmware ending in K, Mine did not update as it already had latest update ending in Q.
The odd thing is my wifes sits on 4g and has very good speed test. WE are in strong 4glte area. However my phone sits on 3g and the very few times I get it to say 4g I get wicked slow speed tests. MY best was 5 down 1 up. But usually about 1.4 down.
How the heck can two of the same model phones get different speeds. My phone flat out sucks! Hers rocks. ... I just rooted mine and unlocked bootloader and was wondering if any one knows of a way to fix data speeds? Uggg.....
have you tried swapping sim cards to see if it the problem follows the sim?
IMM76K vs. Q. Maybe the search nerf update borked the RIL. Maybe that's why the rest of us haven't received it.

Now I have not switched Sim cards... Will try that and report back.
When I called Verizon the leval 2 tech said firmware ending in Q is the newest now and has been working great. Or so he said... Well not for me! I have plenty of time to exchange at Best Buy. I did find plenty of threads claiming big issues with our Galaxys having 3g 4g hand off issues. Does any of the custom roms like AHRD fix this issue?
Thank!:good:

Mine drops to 3g w/ g/f's on 4g, same rom builds, same kernels at times. Just two days ago I was w/ the folks and my dad's Razr Maxx was on 3g while my mother's Maxx was on 4g. Weird how that works out. But just goes back to why some phones OC better than others, other's UV better than some, some have all the issues, some don't. All phones are different.

Hey guys,
I'm curious as to which radio has worked best for you guys with Bell Canada. I'm situated in Montreal, QC. (I don't know if that detail will help at all)
I currently have Baseband version i9250XXLJ1 installed by default. I get fairly decent download speeds (roughly 3mb down), although I get a lot of dropped calls, dead zones and area's with very poor reception compared to my mates.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I've been having the same issue as well. I had my original Gnex that I got with bell. it broke recently and I got a new replacement Galaxy nexus....Same dropping call issue.
the problem I have is I'll be on a call for like....5 mins and all of a sudden the person on the other end cuts out, then I try to hang up the call but it's almost like the phone freezes for 15 or 20 seconds and then returns to normal, at which point I call the person back. It's really annoying and since I can't make the phone emulate the problem, Bell won't replace it for that reason. If you've found a fix, please let me know!
Hey folks, I've got an LTE N7 on the way.
Going to use it in my car and add it to my data plan.
I'm currently on Verizon but would have no issue moving to AT&T. Both have similar coverage in my area, though AT&T may be a tad better.
Does the N7 have any issues on Verizon? I found one article in my searching that suggested the N7 only works on some Verizon bands. Can anyone confirm if AT&T will be the better bet for total coverage on 2G/3G/4G?
