Hi.
When you tap on an address on a contact the phone opens the app Loactaions. I find google maps better and would like to use this instead. Is there a way to decide which app that is being launched when you tap on a contact's address?

It doesn't look like you can disable Locations without rooting the phone. Locations can't be disabled via the setting menu. The next best option is to install "Select Other Map for HTC" by "Kenshinn.TW" off the market. Just select use by default and it'll just open Google Maps directly in the future.

hi i have done an error i have restore from idraive and google all contact.
so now i have many double contact.
how i can delete all contact and resinvronize it only from googòe?
tks
I haven't used Idrive but you need to go in to your google account and see if your google account has all the duplications in it. If so you can use the Contact manger and the Find Duplicates button to remove them.
If your google account does not have duplicates then its syncing them off idrive and you should go in to the contacts app on your phone and press the menu button (looks like 3 dots stacked on each other at the bottom right. Here you get the option for "Contacts to Display" and you should hopefully be able to uncheck the idrive ones.
As I said I have never used Idrive so I am not sure the above will work but its what I would do first
Every time I want to search an e-mail it starts searching on the server, not in the device itself. I don't understand this, all e-mails are in the device.
When I turn off data connection, it is not able to search in e-mails, it simply returns "nothing found".
In settings & search settings "search in e-mails" is also not available.
Totally disappointing.
Is this in Gmail or exchange? Exchange mail should work as far as I know but Gmail search function is server side (not built into the app itself).
Exchange server missing function
Dear RTContent,
It is in Exchange e-mails,
I wrote this to Samsung support:
This is a missing function report and has to be implemented as soon as possible to the phone as an update:
Please forward this to google developers!
1.) Add "search in e-mails" to the "searchable items" in google search settings!
2.) Add offline search functionality to "search " under e-mail. This means the phone has to search in e-mails first offline (in the device), than it has to ask the user if he/she wants to search in the server (online via data connection) aswell.
Ah I see what you mean now. Have you tried third party app on the market? I'm sure there are ones available with a search function.

So when I first got my HTC One M8 it prompted me to choose which google account would as my default account. Does anyone know how to change this again? I purchased an app on one account, then when I re-add my other Google account it wants me to purchase that app again.
What you can do if you have multiple accounts that you have purchased software on is merely not worry about what is default and simply add the other google account.
Then after its added open the play store app, tap the left side 3 bars to bring up the menu, where you see your current account should have an arrow pointing down to the right of it, this will let you select another account to use with the play store.
how can i add another account after i managed to install the play store and service?
i recall the first one i installed when i first opened the play store.
i can't find any place that list that account or allow me to add another.
i will also have to remove the first account later on...

I need this too. Anyone?
You can add another account from almost any Google app (Gmail, Maps, Youtube). Open the app (I used Gmail), slide out the menu from the left and tap on your email address near the top left corner. Then tap on "Add Account"
As for removing, I couldn't find any way other than uninstalling and reinstalling the Play store and all associated services (Services Framework, Play services, Account Manager)

I still remember how I had that problem.
All you just do is enable Auto Sync by going into settings -> Applications & Parental Controls -> Prevent/Allow non-Amazon app installation - > Auto Sync. Or just simply search for "auto sync" in the search bar in settings menu. Then wait for some time for the contacts to sync.
Did I help your problem?
Hi there,
I have the same problem, so far, no contacts on the fire phone, auto sync is activated...
any ideas?
You have to add your gmail account in "Settings" - "My accounts" - "Manage e-mail accounts" - Add Account", then you will be able to sync Calendar and Contacts. You do not have to use amazon email app.
