Okay being an LG Optimus One user, I just got a MT3GS. I've been using it for a day on a Sense rom, it came prerooted and running CM7.
I need to access recovery because I tried flashing a MOUNT2SD script and now I'm boot looping at the splash screen. I made a CWM Backup, but I can't get into backup because the volume buttons are broken.. the way I was getting into it before was via ROM Manager...
Help?
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
Well, as soon as the first splash screen comes on, go into the terminal or command prompt and type adb reboot recovery.
On my computer?
Possible noob fail from me.

What output did ADB give you?
It said no ADB devices or something...
Sent from my LG Optimus One running iOSDroid
Make sure you do it while the splash screen is on. Use adb devices to make sure your phone is connected.
I did use adb devices before, it wasn't showing anything.
I can get to bootloader/fastboot, is the a fastboot reboot-recovery?
Sent from my LG Optimus One running iOSDroid
Unfortunately fastboot only works with reboot-bootloader or reboot. However, you can download the ESPRIMG.zip and put it on sdcard when you boot into the bootloader. Or, you can extract the ESPRIMG.zip to the directory where fastboot is located and then you can fastboot flash and the imgs.
I'm downloading ESPRIMG.zip now.
When I get into bootloader/fastboot and flash the ESPRIMG, will it install the whole rom back to stock...? Or can I boot up normal or anything? C=
EDIT: ESPRIMG.zip is loading in the bootloader/hboot now, waiting
EDIT 2: Argh can't start update because volume buttons are broken!!!

install droid explorer(leave install sdk files for you ) y pdanet(choose install htc drivers)
conect your phone to pc an open droid explorer if you can enter in droid explorer and conect, there is a option in droid explorer to reboot on recovery mode, all this is for check that you can conect to pc in adb mode

the easy way to get back on your phone is doing the restore method using lgnpst tool..there are differents methods guides..
1)AutoLGNPST-tSilenzio.zip
2)LGNPST-PhantomPhreak53.zip
3)lgnpst-shelnutt.zip
so with these tools you can go back to v7 fool unroot and then update it to v8 and v9 ,just you want to make sure if your phone can get the download mode,,,for more information you can go to irc freenode guyz its is a private chat,,,and then ask them about the lgnpst tools link,im sure they will give you more information about it,,,they have the link for both software restore(v7 and v9 .tot files)if not i posted in general the v9 .tot file link, dont worry your phone still alive,i hope adb to push files directly to custom recovery it doesnt work so the easy and method way is restore it!!!

Accessing Recovery Screen (First Step if you have bricked your phone)
This is our initial step for any problems that might arise. If you can access recovery, usually you're in a perfectly fine situation.
1. Power off your phone by holding Volume down & power at the same time.
2. When the screen shuts off, switch to entering fastboot by holding Volume Up & Power. Release immediately once you see a black screen with some text on the bottom.
3. You should see a black screen with some text at the bottom.
4. Press volume down 2x and then the power button.
5. You should see either TWRP or CWM recovery.
6. Wipe Cache, Dalvic Cache, and Factory Wipe
7. Flash new stock zip. Wipe caches again.
8. Restart.

Well good new here for all that brick is that you can go to any sprint store and exchange it as a defective device, but please do all you cn to get it back into working order, simply because Sprint does not have an official rooting policy it simply states "if phone appears rooted , make a note and continue as normal"
Now be ready with the correct verbage as everything in the Sprint world is at managers discretion which simply means a manager can say no and you would have to take it to retention, no body wants this. So just be cool and tell them you did the OTA and this is what happened simple as that. If worse comes to worse just tell ask them to DHRP it since the phone is so new you will get a new 1 anyways.
BUT PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF ALL US INCLUDING YOURSELF GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT AT RETURNING IT TO STOCK , IF YOUR HAVING TROUBLE HIT UP SOME OF THE DEVS ON GTALK , Im sure one of them or I if I am home will do our best to walk you through it.
Hey all i forgot i posted this thread awhile ago sorry kinda just me n my bro went hard at work and finally fixed the phone and i found the probelm.. At the IRC at the time there were different versions of LGNPST i used the one directed to in the guide i used and that was the autoLGNPST and it was version 1.3 but it never recognized the device in download mode so my bro said it had to be a driver issue so im like ok we find a few drivers install just to make sure and at that point we knew that the computer was reconizing the phone because on ADB we can push a file through and i can install a ROM which i did but for some reason it never could install.. it was the lifeless ROM and dont worry i cleared everything but it never booted after that just kept booting into CWM. So im like ok i bring it to the sprint store the next day the Technician wasent there that day so i hada wait till the next day but that night i tried one more time 2 fix this thing and turns out that day the IRC puts up new files and it was a new version of autoLGNPST v2.2 or v2.3 i believe new DLLs and a new .bin file for ZV7 and the old ones were corrupt i used the new files a viola IT WORKED!! BUT... i cant for the life of me get a flippin ROM on here dont matter which ROM i try or if i use CWM or TWRP i cant get a ROM on always either the install fails or i install it and it reboots but just comes up with a blank screen after the LG logo and mind u i use the AiO tool on the forums to unlock the bootloader and root it and install TWRP or CWM and im on ZV8 when im installing them n ive tried many many times and i just wind up LGNPSTing it again backups never work either any help with this would be greatly appreciated

This is what my LGNPST does, it shows an error at 85% saying
"Process: Upgrade_Masterbin
"Subproc : Masterbin Donwload
Cause: Download Failed"
I did what you suggested (hold the power button until the phone powers on? rather powers off, right?) I am in donwload mode and tried taking out the battery and restarting into download mode and repeating the flashing process (unitl 85%) various times... always with the same error message as a result... what is the problem?

You managed to solve it
Hey folks,
I decided to make this thread because it took me a while to find this solution and I simply wanted to share it with you guys.
The known Root methods here in the Forum are working only for the LG G-Pad 8.3 Android 4.2.2!
If people already updated it to 4.4.2 (like I did) U]before[/U] rooting, have to use the following rooting method:
Note: I am not responsible if you make any mistakes or this does not work for you. Don’t forget to backup! I backed up my entire SD card.
Recommended:
Backup your data
Battery charged more than 50%
All things you will need:
Installed USB Drivers
IOroot25 (can be found here in the Forum!)
Rootchecker [Download]
How to Root LG G Pad 8.3 Steps:
1. Download and extract the IOroot25
2. Make sure your phone is in USB Debugging mode. Plug phone to PC.
3. Set USB mode to Charging only
4. Make sure ADB has been installed, and ADB has the proper permission
5. Run script and follow the onscreen instructions. (you can skip the Airplane part, because theres no thing such airplane mode on
our LG G-Pad 8.3
6. Windows: Double-click on root.bat
Linux: cd into IOroot folder -> chmod +x root.sh -> ./root.sh
Mac: cd into /IOroot/mac folder -> chmod +x root.sh -> ./root.sh
Confirm root with rootchecker.
Screenshot is attached ^_^. Enjoy.
Does not work!
these steps and everything in them do not work on my LG G Pad 8.3LTE running 4.4.2 KitKat!
Ive tried using IOroot25 and the newer roots. ive tried it in charge mode which doesnt work at all (so whoever is saying put it in charge only mode is full of it), ive tried internet/ethernet mode which worked on my LG G2 phone (which starts USB debugging which is required for root) but this too ultimately doesnt work even though it gets farther than anything else.
bottom line..this method doesnt work. it needs to be updated to address all the recent users trying to root their Verizon G Pad 8.3 LTE running 4.4.2. Nothing ive tried works on this thing. My LG G2 smartphone on the other hand had no issues rooting. My G Pad gets to the part where it says it needs to reboot the device and install from recovery but it doesnt reboot or it doesnt respond. ive tried booting manually into recovery and it doesnt exist except for the stock recovery which doesnt let you install from the adb package (its not clockwork recovery).
Any suggestions? Verizon (Windows 7 64bit) drivers are installed, I have IOroot25 like they say you must have for 4.4.2 kitkat, whats the issue?

How did you update your LG G Pad 8.3LTE to kitkat? Im kinda new and can't find out how to update it? Any help would be appreciated.
does it work after knock code update?
Towel Root still works after the knock code update.
So I got LS980 Sprint LG G2 from ebay. Everything worked fine. First I rooted the phone using stump root, then installed twrp using autorec, and then tried to flash xdabebb's VS980 (I totally forgot that I cannot flash a verizon rom to sprint phone). I had done this same process on verizon phones many times so I did not take a back up. TWRP said flash to xdabebb VS980 was succesfull, but when I reboot, it says "[820] Fastboot mode started [870] udc_start()" I am basically stuck here. I can reboot to recovery but I dont have any other zip files or back up or anything on the phone. I tried connecting to computer using USB but nothing shows up. I tried to use ADB but i dont see the phone when I type "adb devices". Any help is appreciated on what should I do to get the phone working
Make sure you have all your drivers installed, all your adb drivers. Then you might get seen by the system. You would then go with a side load of the proper ROM.

Sorry, I'm relatively new to rooting and I looked through the threads and found similar problems, but none that seem to exactly match mine.
I have a rooted VS985 that I was trying to flash with the AndroidNow HD 6.1 ROM using TWRP and I guess the flash tool crashed. It was stuck on a black screen for an hour or two so I hard reset it and after that, the phone will only flash the LG logo for a second before the screen turns off and the indicator light alternates flashing red and blue. As far as I can tell, the computer does not detect it when it is in this mode (seems similar to the secure boot issue that some people have been having). I cannot enter download mode (the LG logo flashes on and the indicator light flashes blue once and then both turn off) but I can still boot into TWRP Recovery. When I try to boot into download mode, even while the screen is off, my computer detects the phone as QHSUSB_BULK. Also, when in recovery mode, my computer can detect the phone as a G3 and I can access it with adb tools but I don't know where to go from here. I have tried using the LGFlashTool but I can't seem to access the phone because it will not enter download mode and I've tried reflashing AndroidNow HW 6.1. The flash completes and says it is successful, but the phone still will not boot properly.
Luckily, I got the phone a few days ago from Costco, so there is a good chance I can still return it, but I would like to fix it if I can.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You said you have adb working.
Did you make a backup of your stock download mode at anypoint of time? (Iaf.img)
I guess it can be pushed back using adb, but am not very sure. Even if not, maybe you can take the stock Iaf.img from someone else and try pushing it via adb using this command:
Code:
dd if=/storage/external_SD/stock-laf.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf
Then you can boot into the download mode using the command:
Code:
fastboot boot stock-laf.img
It doesn't look like I have the stock laf.img backed up. I'll try to get it from someone. Thanks, I'll let you know what happens when I get it.

Hello all, I just purchased a new LG V410 and decided to root it using TWRP with flashify. I've done this before with other phones with much success and followed the instructions precisely. I was able to root the tablet successfully, but when using the flashify install the TWRP custom recovery the phone rebooted into fastboot.udc and I have been stuck ever since. I can no longer go into download mode or recovery mode and when I try it comes back to the black fastboot screen with errors. I have to do a hard reset using Power and vol down just to restart the tablet, which otherwise works fine and is detected by my pc and the minimal adb fastboot command interface. However, the mobile support tool doesn't see the phone and I have downloaded drivers several times with no change in status. Please advise as I think that I may have fully bricked my tablet. Any help is appreciated.
Hold the volume up and plug in the usb to get to download mode properly, as well this http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-pad-10/general/kdz-lg-g-pad-7-0-v410-t3224867. Unbricked mine with that method. Hope that helps!
Just to let you know why it bricked and you often can't just use Flashify or anything else to merely flash TWRP anymore, its because of the locked bootloader. On other LG devices such as the VS985 G3 and the VK810 G Pad 8.3, we have to use old KitKat bootloaders (from the same device) to be able to get into TWRP. At least on the VS985, the KitKat bootloader was still locked, but it was vulnerable to a method to get around it called "BUMP", so anything that boots - kernels, TWRP etc, has to be BUMP'd in order to work, but still requires the BUMP-vulnerable bootloader.
