Has anyone had any luck getting the SGSII Car dock to work with any of the ICS builds floating around?
Really want to switch to ICS but for me my car dock is a must.
Thanks!
yeah I love ICS but I need my car dock the only workaround that I have done was take the aux cable off and put it on the headphone jack of the phone but that defeats the purpose of having the official car dock.
Not car dock, but with the official Samsung desk dock...no go with ICS. Screen NEVER times out and sleeps! Fine with Gingerbread, however.
Well we need a fix for both because its just terrible having to crank up the speakers and have barely any sound

I don't have a dock to test this with unfortunately.
Can somebody describe the issue to the fullest detail possible?
Normally I hook up the dock with the dock setting of volume through speakers. With ics the volume is really low even though both the phone and car speaker volume is set to max.

I experience the same thing as bykr_dude15 explains, with all ICS roms. I can turn my radio and phone volume up as high as they go and can just barely hear the audio coming out of the car speakers.
If anyone comes up with anything to test, put it in this thread and I'll be more than happy to give it a try on my phone.
Same here. Having the exact same issue. I can try and get logcats for you if that would help.
I wonder if its a kernel problem. But I too would be happy to test it because this is the only reason I don't want to use the ics roms

So I broke down and just plugged a cable into the headphone jack for now because ICS is working so damn good on my phone I don't want to go back. but it is a real drag.
I am really thinking this is a kernal issue and can be fixed maybe with the use of something like this? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.muteheadlight.dockredir&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsIm5ldC5tdXRlaGVhZGxpZ2h0LmRvY2tyZWRpciJd
People are having to use this with CM9 also. Just needs to be built into the kernal I guess??
Yeah bro, it's gotta be the colonel. Perhaps Colonel Sanders.
Actually, I'm just messing with you; I have no idea. I didn't even read the thread. I know this is totally off-topic, but, you gotta have at least a few off-topic posts, right?
But yeah, ICS is sweet. There were a lot of 'behind-the-scenes' changes that caused some awesome breakage, though.
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2
I don't think we need that because I can hear it being redirected but it just doesn't give out enough volume.

I just tried the new ICS leak you mentioned and it didn't fix the issue for me.
Still a no go. Been trying everything that hits the Dev section but have to keep returning to Tuesday|Blu|Ray so I can use my docks.
same problem with me... luckily I found a thread to post on...
I got the AOKP ROM for my AT&T Galaxy S2 i777 ... There is simply no option for the audio to be re-routed through the desktop dock [Samsung Official Desktop Dock] ... I did however got audio after plugging the AUX cable into the headphone jack, of course...
But one thing though, I found this app, called the Galaxy Dock Sound Redirector... but it says the ROM isn't supported... maybe it could be modded in some way?
I asked task650, and he said that it's only possible if the AOKP team includes it...
But I kinda wanna get it right now... I'm willing to try any hacks/mods to do this...
Thanks

Supposedly its supposed to work on all Gingerbread roms, not ICS tho. Just wondering if anyone has checked it out yet and had success.
Improvement
I'm on Blazer 4.0, and I wasn't sure how much an improvement it made until I restored back before I applied it. It's certainly an improvement over stock. I don't have the best headphones here at work, but it sounded a lot better when I had it plugged into my car stereo. Can't wait to try it out with my Bose headphones when I get home.
Wow, impressive. Sounds is much nicer.

It's been down for days prob because of the name Beats Audio being used. Monster will sue anything for using there or one of there name/tm
But it does make the sound-Q improve
My phone all of a sudden stopped ringing when I got calls, text, etc.... noticed it while trying to watch a video...no sound. Then one day it rang for an IM. So I knw now the speaker isn't busted like I originally thought. Its worked fine until now. Anybody have any input? Feel free 2 pm me

Must be something in the water. Had same thing. Try plugging in a wired headset while watching a youtube, then unplug. This worked for me for 2 hours then nada. Reflashed rom and even reformated to mtd but no difference. Something is hosed in nvram. Replaced unit under tep as I also had cracked screen so didn't get too much into.

I believe I still have the cm9 file on my sd. Wouldn't I need to reflash my kernel? To my knowledge handles the sound etc.

Or maybe flash shadow 4 again.

None of that worked for me. If you figure it out, please post a solution cause there are quite a few threads on the issue.

Odin back to stock EL30 and see if you still have issue. If you do it is a hardware issue. that is what happened to my wife. The repair center fixed it for free because I have the insurance.
Edit:

What all will that do? I assume I will loose root and cm9?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA
It assures that you do not have corrupted data. Yes you will have to root and then flash CM9. Do not restore anything. See if your issue is gone, then load apps and set up your phone.

My phone was rooted remotely. I used to have odin on an sd card. I know I would understand it if I seen it done. Originally I just wanted root on stock rom and kernel but he asked me if I wanted gb or ics so naturally I wanted 2 try out ics. He set it up with shadow 4 kernel then I flashed shadow 5 on my own. I dnt understand y it would work fine for like a month or 2 then nothing.

Marcusant and kenny, is there a way of accessing any of the nvram settings for audio, like telling it to use speaker vs audio jack so these can be reset somehow? I recently went through similar situation. Plugged wired headset in and out while watching youtube. This made my speakers come alive again for short time so they weren't blown. I factory reset, flashed stock, all ota's, rooted and went mtd cleangb. None of this brought back speakers. Something was telling them not to come on. Got new device so moot point 4 me now...

Odin him back to stock to see if he still has the problem I suspect he will. My wife had this issue when on cm no custom kernel it was a hardware issue. I am not saying CM caused it **** happens and her hardware failed.
One way to tell if it is hardware is does it vibrate? If it doesn't vibrate then it is hardware if it does then it might be a setup issue.
Yea it vibrates. Phone sitting on the table with vibrate.....kinda like a ringtone right? Sad but true lol

Then it might not be hardware. When my wife's speaker stopped working it wouldn't even vibrate. When I spoke with the person at Sprint that fixed it he said it is the same unit. Of course I am not sure if it did vibrate at first because the wife didn't tell me for like 3 weeks that it was happening.

As for your question, you might want to look into some ROM, I believe some have it included (probably mostly Gingerbread ROMs).
If you don't want to flash any custom ROMs, I'm sure there's something but I'm just not aware, since I don't use any of that lol. Sorry.

well i came from the epic 4g and in order to use voodoo plus you had to have a compatable kernel, and there were many custom kernels that could be flashed to any custom rom. Right now im running codename android ics. from what i saw in the development forum there are no custom kernels, and no voodoo for ics. I will have to read around on some gb threads to check for voodoo

i actaully know about dspmanager from my time witht he epic 4g, on that device it couldnt really compare with the combination of volume+ and voodoo i had set up. but at this point im willing to try anything
for cars.. ( pre-amp into aux) you can build opa! amp.
fiio pocket amps are popular if you want buy and go option.
I was looking into voodoo sound also, but i think Epic touch uses diffrent sound chip than voodoo sound project.
I have no idea if you can find it but I have a Meier Corda Headsix Amp and it is a fantastic portable amp and a reasonable price 150ish new if i remember. I recommend it.
I looked up the amp you suggested it's not the type of amp that fits in my pocket (if I found the right one) the type of amp I'm looking for us like this one here http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004QVPGXK/ref=mp_s_a_9?qid=1334102729&sr=8-9

There is a tiny problem though.... I flashed this last night. I successfully booted my phone but once everything loaded my phone froze up and just powered cycled. I tryied flashing it with different gapps combinations and different jb ROMs. So with that said... do any of you devs or anyone that want to try to modify this MOD for our phones?? Maybe it will bring a solution this this bug?

Glad to know I wasn't the only one with the audio problem but from my short testing in my car it seemed to only be music related, I'm using double twist. When I got a text message the ringtone was alot louder than the music itself and the volume setting on that was only around half as loud. Things use to be the other way around on ICS. From what I can tell from my testing on the E4GT, your headphone and bluetooth volumes are tied to the speaker media volume originally. I haven't seen it in any other builds of CM10, but it seems fairly common in the E4gT's roms.

So uh, I've been using the AOKP ROM for awhile now along with KTs kernel and everything has been running fine. That is until yesterday when I was on my way back to Toronto from a trip and suddenly in the middle of a song a loud, high pitch screech went off in my ears(Scared the crap out of me). At first I thought it was my headphones, but after unplugging em and hitting play, the screech was coming through the speaker as well. The odd thing is, it's only with certain songs that it does it. Was thinking of flashing a new ROM/kernel combo to see if that fixes it. Anyone else ever experience this/have another fix?

How do you like the AOKP build. I'm new to android. I've been using jailbroken iOS for several years now. Android takes some getting used to but I'm really starting to dig it.
I noticed yesterday on the way home that the noise is only present when the device is both plugged into the charger and there is no audio broadcast. So in between songs or pauses in a radio app like tune-in radio. So not as bad as I thought but still kinda embarrassing. When you are showing how cool android is to your iOS friends

Haha don't ya just hate that? Trying to show off your phone and all of a sudden it's screaming at you? Talk about a downer.
But AOKP I just love. It's what I've been using for almost 2 years on all my devices. The customization and performance is just amazing. Hands down my favorite ROM. Like, I've tried the stock based ones, Cyanogen and others, but they just don't fulfill my needs like AOKP does. Get the right kernel combo/setup going with it and you'll be satisfied for a good amount of time if not forever

Bringing this thread back to life. Got an AT&T Samsung GS3 running CM10 Stable (10.0.0) with the stock kernel and when I plug the phone into my car's AUX system, there is a loud very high pitched / high frequency whine that is continuous, but only happens when the phone goes into audio-out mode... if the phone isn't doing anything, there is no whine, but as soon as I press "play" on the music player or turn pandora on, the whine comes on and continues throughout music play.
I tried plugging in my headphones (Klipsch S2) and there is no high-pitched noise that I can hear.
Is there a fix yet? Anyone else running CM10 stable having this problem?
Thanks!!
