My co worked who used to have an ET4G and now has a Galaxy Nexus stumbled upon this MOD. Knowing how must of us running any jb ROM have low headphones/aux issues I thought I could post this to try and help.
There is a tiny problem though.... I flashed this last night. I successfully booted my phone but once everything loaded my phone froze up and just powered cycled. I tryied flashing it with different gapps combinations and different jb ROMs. So with that said... do any of you devs or anyone that want to try to modify this MOD for our phones?? Maybe it will bring a solution this this bug?
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to try this and provide some input

Finally! A response lol no luck bro. It made my phone powercycle after 4 attempts to flash. I'm sure it can be made to work with our device. We just need the brains of a dev. Give it a try but make a nandroid first.
Spread the word to get some input from the devs. Maybe I'm onto something here lol

Nope. I've been running beats both zip and app since cm9 was realised. Does help with the quality of audio but does not increase volume.

im really hoping this gets ported or something is done about the issue soon, because the jb roms are so awesome its impossible for me to go back to ics just for audio. though i do miss the days where i could use my headphones to their full potential. didnt spend 100 on them for nothing

Yeah it it works it would be awesome to get it baked in. I just miss listening to music loud in my car lol I PMed phantom and hopefully he let's other devs know about it....

Might be a kernel thing? Who knows.
Glad to know I wasn't the only one with the audio problem but from my short testing in my car it seemed to only be music related, I'm using double twist. When I got a text message the ringtone was alot louder than the music itself and the volume setting on that was only around half as loud. Things use to be the other way around on ICS. Like someone else posted hopefully there can be a fix soon because I'm loving JB.
I tried this mod on my Nexus 7 and I didnt notice a difference
Not sure why it didnt increase volume for you. Worked just fine for me.

I'm having this issue with both music stored in my phone and apps like Pandora and iheart radio. my call volume is very loud, no issue there as well as notification. I just flashed AOSP jb 09/19 to see if it made any progress on volume but no luck. Low volume is still there

The latest cm10 Nightlies fixed all of the sound problems
Sent from my E4GT by using THE FORCE
From what I can tell from my testing on the E4GT, your headphone and bluetooth volumes are tied to the speaker media volume originally. I haven't seen it in any other builds of CM10, but it seems fairly common in the E4gT's roms.
Where are the nightly builds posted? I don't see it on thier official site

This is not true ... Pandora and/or any other music related app still has the problem, even Youtube, however, everything else is topnoth in CM10. We all hope it gets fixed quickly. Im running CM10 9/24 nightly.

If its fixed in CM10 it will be fixed in all jb ROMs since they run basically the same base. Jb has made some great progress thanks to all the devs. Hopefully they work out this bug. I wanna jam! Lol

Hello guys,
for those who has tested the new 4.2 stock, i would have a question about volume.
Have they improved it from 4.1 or it is a bit low yet?
Thanks in advance!
Seems pretty low to be honest - I've actually missed a couple of Whatsapp messages even though my phone was really close by. Waiting for some custom ROM/kernel goodness to bring it back up to the levels we know and love.

Yeah, that was my hunch... i'm on Minco Rom, and i think i'm gonna wait the new version based on 4.2
thanks for advice!
Yup it's decreased... But for some reason for me only when listening music... I watched a YouTube video and it was loud as before, then I switched to music instantly and barely heard how it decreased itself... Weird Google..

Yep, me too!
Hello everybody
Some of you might noticed that the volume in some apps (youtube, navigon...) or even media (mp3) is quite low.
This issue is fixed in many roms like cm, xylon and so on.
I want to know if there is any possibility to increase the volume output on 4.2.1 stock, without having root.
thx
Yeah I would like to know too. My iPod touch is a whole lot louder! What gives Google?
Would love to know this too. In fact, the low volume makes me miss quite a few calls and messages during the day when I'm not in the same room as my phone. Also when I show someone a YouTube video the audio is sometimes near impossible to hear on the speaker. Would love to stick with the stock ROM so I hope there is an easy fix.

use this mod this guy posted. it makes the volume so much louder. ive used it since day one when i got my nexus because i could never hear my damn ringtones or notification tones. but u need to be rooted. i run the stock 4.2.1 rom that is rooted. just so i can run some apps that need root access. its worth it.
Volume+ stopped working with jb. Still no fix. Unless rooted I presume.

Make sure you installed the V6beta2 if you are on 4.2 or 4.2.1. There are two different ones. One is for 4.1.2 which I think the latest build is called "V5Omega" it's in the 1st post and the other is for 4.2 and 4.2.1 which the latest build is called "V6beta2" and that's his 3rd post. You might have flashed the wrong one.

Me again.
I posted a few hours ago about a problem with my SMS and text messages not being sent if they were over 160 characters. After receiving help about that and since I'm trying to hit my 10 post mark, I figured I'd make another thread about the other problem I'm having.
So I'm running LiquidSmooth JellyBean 4.2.1 Beta 2 on my Sprint Galaxy S3 and I love it. The only problem I am having is that my headset, a basic Skull Candy headset with the button to stop/play music, mute/unmute calls and also fast forward and rewind music does not seem to be working. I mean I can hear music through them fine and the mic works fine for calls, but the button no longer works on this custom ROM. It was working fine on 4.1.1 stock.
Anyone else have this issue? Any help would be appreciated. It's not a big deal but it is nice being able to cut off my music without even taking out my phone.
Its most likely because JB 4.2 is still in development and doesn't have all the hardware features of the stock ROM built in yet
Definitely sounds like this is the issue since you said you had no problems on a TW rom

im running Task650 AOKP 4.2.2 on my S3 and for the past few months pandora radio will not let me type in new stations any ideas why this happens? i have uninstalled the app and reinstalled many times but still no luck. i also have 4g here in alaska but with this rom i only connect to 3g if you have any ideas that will help please let me know
Might be a app issue, I can't add new stations either. And I was in a different ROM. I add from computer and there there, kinda crappy... Lol

Search in tasks AOKP thread..I remember this being an issue but can't say it has been fixed. Just search "pandora"

Yeah, he basically said it was Pandora's fault, even though I have a Skyrocket on 4.2.2, a S2 on 4.2.2 and a HTC on 4.2.2 and those three work so I tried SlimBean for the hell of it in my S3 and it magically worked again, it is an issue with his rom in some way. I still use his rom because it works great but SlimBean was damn close.

Unless you provide a logcat, there's nothing Task can do about it and has to assume it's a problem with the app. He doesn't provide support for 3rd party app (nor should he).

Multiple log cats were brought to his attention, it was the apps fault instantly. I gave up because he has a great rom and I have donated to him for his great work. I just go online to Pandora and change my lineup.

Im looking for a solid dd for my phone but don't have the time to flash ROMs all day. The only builds I've been trying are the official cyanogenmod builds.. and there awesome except the call quality on the opposite end is unusable in the real world. I heard aokp is better and we now have slim and pac. I have tried the cerux kernel along with cm10.1 but the call quality wasn't any better.. what you guys think?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
how do you define best? your best dd for your phone might not be best for me. Its really subjective to personal preference.
If I wanted to recommend a setup that I personally like the best with good call quality, I recommend pac+cerux.

hmm
Try slimstar with cerux kernel and recheck noise suppression, I havnt had any problems with it plus good call quality IMO. Also don't download it yet because the dev said he's updating it tonight so get the updated version
You guys are all pointing to the wrong direction. The ROMs aren't what make the quality of calls even with kernals that tweek settings. Try flashing the most current radio for your android version. After installing the 4.2 radio released last month I haven't experienced a lot of call sound quality related issues. Try flashing a more current radio. Everyone complains on call quality in ROMs but never update their outdated radio. Since I've updated people say they hear me clear when before they used to tell me get a new phone. This might be your fix, especially if youve never updated it

Personally I am digging onlychevys slimbean unofficial 4.2.2, with the newest blaze radio. As suggested, go to phone settings and uncheck, recheck noise suppression, that seems to solve the poor call quality issues most of the time.
T769UVMB1 radio gives me the best user experience here in ne fla. It may be different where you live, you may have to try different radios to find one that works best for you.
Hope that helps
Sent from my big pimpin-T989 using Tapatalk 2
None of the ROM's will help you if they are all using the same radio. You need to flash a new radio. Go to the link there is a really nice list made of all Hercules compatible radios. Pick one, boot to recovery and install the .zip file. Many people like using the galaxy Note radio. I found T989UVLI4 worked best in my area. Make sure noise suppression in phone settings is checked.
