Just wondering Ive been trying to watch movies but I cant figure out how to watch them good on the evo. I've tried arc media with my avi's but the audio doesn't sync good with the movies. I also tried converting them to mpeg4 cause I read that is the best format for the HTC player but then the file is enormous and I have to empty my memory card just to put it on. So my question is how does everyone here watch movies on there evos what is the best video app or converter and format for my pc and if there are any apps like media hub that the galaxy phones have?

HOLY RUN-ON SENTENCE BATMAN
I just use Handbrake to convert to mp4, at the same time shrinking it to about 300mb and use the stock video player- works great.
lol there are some periods in there. Thx ill try that sounds a lot better than a 7gb movie. Now besides for that are there any programs similar to media hub I can rent movies or buy em right on my phone

My Galaxy S2 has allshare installed so I can stream my 100's of videos from the PC to the phone. I assumed this was standard now but not on the One X.
I can connect to the PC and see the videos etc but about 3% of them actually play or are supported format, on the S2 everything just worked.
Is there any way to get these files supported on the One X without conversions?
Select the gallery and then the album that contains your movies and then use the menu and pick select player. From there you should be able to see dlna players on your network

Yes I can see the movies but the One X supports what seems to be around 3 video file types, so no DivX or XviD can be played on the phone at all. Is there any apps I can use to stream more codecs to the phone?
I'm using Emit app for movie streaming from my pc to one x, playing almost all kinds of format also including divx rmvb mkv etc. etc.

MX player
Anybody know which the best HW supporting media player is for the One X?
I really like dice player but it won't let me fast forward M2TS files :/
try bs player (my player of choice for hd content) or mx player.
I think alla other players than DICE player makes the HOX get hot .
I watch videos all the time using bs player and it doesn't get hot for me. Long story short though try those apps see which is best for you.
Dice player for me is awful there's loads of my media it doesn't play well (it struggles with the audio tracks mostly).
I think BSplayer is the best one! It plays everything! It even plays in HW-mode through network, which most of the other have serious problems with. And directly from rars too.
However, the only player we know for sure that's using the companion core is the built in one, but maybe power-saving isn't any concern? But with HW-decode on the other players, one should think the load should be low enough for the companion core, but who knows?
yup thats what I found, if you want something that just works with your media bs player is the one. I tried every player going for some of my media and that was the only one that handled the audio tracks properly etc.
I dont think any 3rd party players yet will be optimized for tegra 3 to use the companion core, the stock player does it so thats good it shows it can be done but there are not many devices out there yet with tegra 3 so 3rd party apps havent caught up.
No luck either on all players i've tried with fast forwarding m2ts files
Bs player was one of the best ones I found
However I think i'll stick to Dice player for now, everything seems to play smoothly. Just a shame I can't fast forward/rewind m2ts files
Have you tried Mobo player? It's free and so far has managed everything I have thrown at it...

Yeah i've tried that as well sadly, it doesn't like my m2ts files either
I'll have to find some way of muxing them to mkv cheers anyway
you could try format factory http://www.formatoz.com/ and I hear good things about video spirt (get the light version for free) http://www.verytools.com/videospirit/index.html
I am using mx player pro version and it is good. It can play all videos.

MXPlayer.
It's bad-ass. I haven't found anything it won't play (oh.... hang on, flv's! - but I don't have any)
+1 for MXPlayer. This app is awesome. Great quality video and support subs.
But what I like the most is that it can play file streamed from PC with very little buffering (depend on video size though). I really enjoy watching without having to transfer tons of files to the phone
Also an MX player user. Would get the pro if it was on sale otherwise happy with the free version.

I used mxplayer for a while but it struggled with Mkv with ac3, and in s/w mode it got hot.
I switched to dice and it not only plays Mkv with ac3 flawlessly but stays cool.
Watching 720p videos on this phone is just amazing... Sometimes it's better than watching on a big screen. there is more depth to the picture.

thats basically exactly the issue I keep having with it, loads of my media is MKV and most of it has AC-3 audio which mx player fails at. Sure dice works well for it but so does BS player
Either way there are good options out there, its just a shame that I ended up paying for mx player and vplayer etc only to have to use a free app (bs player) because they dont do as good a job

Hi.. Sorry I may sound noob but I've never knew we can stream videos from pc to HTC one X. Can you please guide me how to do so? And yeah I have MX player, if that is what's required.
Just share your movies as you would share any other folder, open it with a file manager from your phone and play the files (this is technically "streaming" but still you watch your movies without having to transfer them). MX does nice job but some files need to be played in sw mode when played from a network location.

emit app is also good, especially for 3g streaming etc
Hello All,
My HTC One X seems to only record video in the 3gp or MP4 file format. This posses problems when I try and stream them to my
TV via DLNA, in other words they don't work
Can anyone tell me how to change the format my HTC One X records in or suggest another camcorder program that lets me record in a different file format or any other way to streaming my videos without having to convert them first?
Thanks for any and all your helps
EN4
Unfortunately MP4 is the default and only supported video format. What problems are you having with DLNA and MP4?

Isn't DLNA just streaming to a display, and as long as your HoX can play it the video will be shown? I didn't know the rendering happens on the TV side @[email protected]
Unfortunately it does. Although if you use windows media server to stream it, the rendering happens on the computer, if I'm not wrong. Though don't think that works with the phone.

Hi all,
I have a HTC media link and I am trying to use 'MX player' with it. MX player works fine I can watch the video on my phone, but as soon as I put it onto the media link the TV only gives out the sound, no image and the phone shows the image of a TV and a phone. In theory everything works fine, I can get photos , internet everything on the TV. Except videos, I have tried 3 different apps including the stock video player app.
Any idea how I can solve my issue and make my video appear on the TV? It is a mp4 file, this shouldnt make a difference as mp4 is a supported format.
Thanks,
Vizzy
I am using the media link with my HTC One, not the nexus 10 before somebody says something,
